My daughter is 14 years old and she has a double curve of scoliosis. She has it since birth. The doctor in 2022 suggested immediate surgery as there was a new type of surgery, we refused this. He said we should not wait too long, the operation should happen. (We had a family member who was operated at the age of 14 and had a bad experience.) We started brace therapy, yoga and Qi Gong exercises.That time her upper curve was measured as 37 degrees. Her curves increased with the time and the doctor said in January 2024 that we cannot wait any longer, she needs the operation and she will not grow anymore. Her upper curve was 55 degrees with the brace on. We found Scoliolife online and we made an online consultation to know what Dr. Kevin Lau would suggest. He said that we can try to go to Sinagpore and do the 5 days intensive program and that he could make a new brace for her but he cannot guarantee her condition will get better. We decided to go and try in May 2024 as the last chance Sophie had to prevent surgery. It was a very nice experience, Dr. Kevin Lau's expertise, the nice atmosphere at the clinic and the joyful and helpful team of Scoliolife made it as an unforgettable time for all of us. We just made the new x-ray in the end of November and she has visible good results, I attached a picture. Her upper curve was 69 degrees in March 2024 and in the latest x-ray it is 58 degrees. Sophie was 155 cm in january 2024, now she is 161,5 cm. We can say now that it was a good decision and we are very happy that her back is better (dispite the growing), the work is not done yet but Sophie is motivated to continue to do the exercises every day and we belive that she can get even better results. Our dearest daughter has scoliosis condition of 22 degree curve after a recent review from KKH. As we did not want to wait for her condition to deteriorate until she require to wear a bracing or require for a surgery, we start looking around for a non-invasive or surgery treatment to correct or improved the curve. We contacted Dr Kevin Lau at the Scoliosis & Spine Correction Clinic located at the Tong Building on Orchard Road, after reading all the success treatment of scoliosis in his Facebook. At his clinic, the environment was pleasant and we saw some track mill, vibration fitness and stretcher machine. Dr Kelvin start showing us some stretching exercises and the use of exercise machine that could help to strengthen the core muscles. At the end of the consultation, we decided signed up the 12 session package to start our treatment journey. My sister has a spine slightly curved like "S" letter shape since she was a kid. Lately, she felt pain in the back when lifting weights. We checked it to a doctor, and she was diagnosed with scoliosis. The doctor advised to perform a surgery. We would recommend anyone with scoliosis and looking for non-invasive treatment to visit Dr.Lau's clinic. Our daughter walked in with a condition of thoracic 55 and lumbar 68 and she was off Spinecor for a year due to inefficient on adjusting it on period of time (and no Spinecor specialist in NZ). Doctor Lau was very clear explaining things, and caring for his patient. He would stay every step of the way during the 5 day treatments hence we should not feel worried or scared. The journey is still on and Zoia's curvature has now improved to thoracic 50 and Lumbar curve of 58 just in 2 months period.She still continues her daily exercise, diets and wearing Gensingen brace. We are more than happy to recommend Dr. Lau to anyone who are still looking at option for non-invasive treatment for Scoliosis. Remember, crooked wings can still fly :)
