W. C.Best workshop experience at TC Bukit Timah. It began on 7 Oct 2024 just before midnight when I dropped off my Fairlady. The guard on duty was so polite and apologetic that he ran out of key-drop envelopes. I apologised for disturbing them so late at night and he said that it is his job. Great attitude! It was only his 3rd day into the job.
As for the workshop staff, I can safely say that Nissan comes in tops for customer service. I will be sad to see TC Bukit Timah workshop close/move to Toa Payoh. Good work attitude always begins with the higher management and the workshop boss, Kwek, ought to be commended. I personally observed him dealing with customers unlike other dealerships where the boss sits in his office all day. And it's not just customers with the higher end cars like GTRs or Zs that he interacts with. Going forward, this is great for the workshop business because every car owner in Singapore wants to have that "high end car" experience, especially after you forked out $100k for a COE. For sure, this is why I choose to return to them with my 15yr old car instead of going somewhere cheaper. Speaking of which, a shout out to Richard who is in charge of Spare Parts at Lok Yang and to Nissan Japan. I am amazed that he can still get parts for cars such as the R34. It's says a lot about a brand when the parent company still supports their decades old cars with spare parts. The only issue I need improvement is the duration it takes to ship the parts in as downtime here just means COE depreciation that can't be recovered. On the bright side, when I needed something urgent like a clutch master cylinder and couldn't wait for parts from Japan, Richard went above and beyond to source me one from a local parts stockist.
Right now, I have decided to treat my "baby" to a fresh coat of paint as the original factory paint has started to fade. All I can say is I am amazed by the labourious effort the paint shop guys are taking to get this done. I've got cheap $1400 quotes from paint shops to do full resprays. But they don't remove the factory side skirts or spoiler. The guys at Tan Chong remove every removable panel to do my respray. Bumpers, door trims, inside door card, speakers all removed for the paint job. My entire rear hatch with glass windscreen is being sanded down on a work stand. Great job guys!
M. C.This review is for the commercial vehicle section: Customer service is good overall, but the place itself is quite rundown. The waiting area is dark, old and dirty. Maybe they reuse the old sofas from the private vehicle lounge. Also, I made a mistake visiting them during lunch hour as the staff were all out for lunch, but that wasn't really the issue as I could wait. However, the waiting area has a few staff lying around sleeping or playing with their HPs. I was with my wife, so we decided to stand and wait instead. Other than that, all else is pretty swell.
M. A.The waiting room could be improved. They should provide halal snacks for Muslim car owners who do not mind waiting while their cars are being serviced as halal food centres are too far away.
