Reviews of AMI Patisserie
If you scrolled through Instagram a couple months back, you were bound to see customer postings about Ami Patisserie by Chef Makoto. Highly suggested to go for Chef's Table if you have time to enjoy the savoury sweet dessert lunch / dinner. The minus point was it's counter seat, close proximity in a small space where diners were not shy to share their personal details for the whole room to hear. There is a difference if you are in companion of Japanese, they would be respectful and lower their voice as not to disturb others, just like when you are on the plane / public transportation in Japan. Back to Ami desserts, Chef Makoto shown his skills in very detailed dish after dish; starting with combination of sweet and slight savoury, like caviar choux, tomato tarts; gradually into more savoury then to sweet refreshing finale. The one appealed to me the most was that instead of sweet potato, he did a creme brulee eggplant, inspired by his time in Kyoto where grilled sweet eggplant is famous for.
Pricey. The place is very small. Taste is fine but nothing fantastic. Good for first time experience or intimate celebrations, but there are definitely many better options out there.
Is almost a hidden gem, order Burrata Cheese & Parma Ham Croissant and seasonal tart. I would say the Croissant is one of the best I had. And environment is very conducive to chit chat
The food is good, would definitely recommend the Parma ham croissant if you’re looking for something savoury. The staffs are friendly. Is quiet and peaceful!
I came here with high expectations and was honestly quite let down. The dessert and drinks were high quality for sure, but it wasn't particularly outstanding or exceptional compared to other high quality patisseries in Singapore especially once you take into consideration the high price and very small portion sizes. The architecture of the place was beautiful, from the external facade to the interior design and even the bathroom, and the seating area overlooks a zen looking garden with sculptures. The main drawback of the place was actually the extremely small seating area with very few tables which felt quite cramped and you could clearly hear your neighbouring table's chatter, and with so few seatings, each reservation only gets you 60 mins of sit down time which felt quite rushed especially given the price you were paying for the tiny portion sizes. They are also fully booked so the turnover between tables was tight, we came 10 mins early and had the choice to wait outside in the hot sun or stand around in the already small indoor area where we felt awkward standing around next to the table we were meant to occupy, and our presence was also pressurising the people occupying the existing table as we were waiting for them to leave and vacate the table. In turn we also felt pressurised to leave once our 60 mins was up. This is not the nicest atmosphere to enjoy a coffee or tea and cakes while chatting with a friend and I don't see us returning anytime soon. Maybe to takeaway desserts but not for dining in. If there's more seating areas allowing for more patrons each time and an increased 90 mins dining limit it'll be much better... Perhaps those who had the omakase experience would feel less rushed. Overall would recommend for takeaway and not dining in!
Bought this for brother birthday.
Packaging design simple and sleek.
Cake deco is amazingly beautiful , what’s more is taste is natural and light.
Filo pastry for momo tarte is flaky and delicious.
Whether is the mousse inside the cake or the cream inside the tart; both have their distinctive texture and taste.
Contains liqueur is a plus !
Not cheap however definitely worth the price for their exceptional cake .
Amazing atmosphere, didn’t know such a place existed. I like the surrounding views so much. Very quiet and but cozy cafe. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance.

Piedmont Hazelnut Financier: 5 stars
Signature Choux: 5 stars
Shizuoka Tomato Tartelette: 4 stars
Japanese Uni Brioche: 3.5 stars
Interesting herbal taste with the lime cream - refreshing like celery or cucumber. Kinda dilutes the rich flavour of the uni, not in a good way to me.
Awajishima Onion Soup: 5 stars
Hokkaido Corn Brûlée: 4.5 stars
Strawberry Shochu: 3 stars
Marble Dark Chocolate: 3.5 stars
Miyazaki Mango: 4 stars

Way too much sweet stuff for an entire tasting dinner. I wouldn’t recommend except to the most diehard sweet tooth.
Good coffee but the choux were divine. Great ambience especially on weekday
Love their Mont Blanc definitely the best I’ve had in Singapore. It’s a seasonal fall item, but can’t wait to have it again if they bring it back next year.
A nice quiet place. Definitely on the expensive side, but the desserts are excellent.
Could be the best croissant that you can find in Singapore, it is crispy on the outside but soft, moist and “chewy” on the inside.
The black forest choux is exceptional.
Fell in love with the mont blanc tart in 2021, and so happy they brought it back this year! Truly the best of the best!
Did not try their cafe menu, but their tasting menu was great and affordable
amazing Chef Makoto
Delicious choux but staff is very unfriendly
So nice
The choux pastry is extremely thin, fluffy, and moist, and I'm glad to finally be able to enjoy sophisticated cream puffs in Singapore. There are many flavors that smell like Western alcohol, and they go well with champagne!
