Reviews of Banelé (@banelesg)
Located above Cold Storage inside Chancery Court condo. Walked past the outlet and was attracted by a rich banana waffle aroma. Checked out what's selling and the lady manning the cashier was very friendly and inviting. She recommended the simple menu items with so much description. Texture felt like a hybrid between soft bread and cake. Pretty good, worth a try if you are around the area.
Honestly a brilliant creation - banana and dark chocolate in the original Banele!! I had it delivered previously and haven’t had it for a long time, very pleased that you guys have a physical storefront now! First visit and definitely won’t be my last - got the original Banele as well as the mixture of 4 petite bundts to try (never tried!) and loved them all omgosh! The size makes it super easy to down them all without feeling like it’s too much! Thank you for doing what you do and wishing you guys prosperous days ahead! 💪🏼
Came here from 8 Days recommendation and I ordered 3 types of Banelé - a combination of brownie banana bread and a canale.
Peanut butter and raspberry - rich peanut butter taste and tantalising raspberry to even it out
Almande (Almond) - Very subtle almond flavour
Original - Just a good old banana brownie
And a petite bund: using the same banale mixture this one is smaller and has the liquid toppings placed right on top. It’s about 5cm, don’t let the photos fool you 😂
Ordered the yuzu flavour! Zesty, citrusy and refreshing.
The difference between the banele and the petite Bundt were the overall texture and volume. The big Banelé was chewy, moist and more voluminous and hearty. The petite Bundt packed more flavour and was crispier.
The staff were so nice they offered us water with our desserts. They also had wet wipes which was so thoughtful! They heated up our desserts and it was great!
One banele was about $7 on average and the petite bundt was $3. That’s priced on the higher side.
The place was also slightly out of the way but there’s parking and a supermarket downstairs.
First time to dine-in for their bakery. Just to be at outside of their shop, can smell a nice toasting chocolate pungent flowing.
Being first time, was abit unsure of what to order. Thks to the staff who was friendly & patience to explain of their order. A simple & short menu they are having now.
Instead of getting their signature, opt for 3 different flavours of petite bundts. Cos personally I am not a fan of banana.
However, did try before on others who mixed banana & chocolate. Must be very well-made then I am more willingly to try.
Since the petite size won't have much banana flavour, by getting different flavours to try it on straight - yuzu, peanut butter & chocolate.
It was so yummy especially the staff toasted it. Inside there are 2 small tables, just nice for me to settle down & enjoyed with an iced white & pastry 😋
Small joint with flavourful brownies. The cold brew is very strong, hits different.
Was given a box of their signature banana bread for Chinese New Year. Lovely smell of bananas with a moist and chewy crumb. Love the little chocolate bits to break up the monotony of the cake mixture.
Did wish to see gooey banana bits inside. I wasn’t able to toast it for that crispy top since I didn’t have a toaster/oven/airfryer, so it tasted more like an ordinary banana cake for me.
A pretty space for a coffee run. Enjoyed the bakes, coffee and ambience. Banelé were good especially after reheating in the air fryer according to instructions. Pls bring back the sticky date!
Tried the banana and chocolate cake which tasted really good ngl
Hot chocolate was warm and thick (they have an option for less rich)
Nice place to settle down and have a bite or a drink
I haven’t visited the space yet but I swear by the baneles anytime I need to get a gift for someone close and important! We first tried it during Covid, and it was like happiness in the midst of lockdown.. 😭 My husband never really like bananas but this is the only banana thing he was willing to try, and eat and now even craves for! We have given these away to friends for all sorts of occasions and even during our baby’s first month cos we know banele never fails! Looking forward to trying the new creations in store.
I visited this café for the first time and was blown away by their canelés. The perfect combination of a crispy caramelized crust and a soft, custardy interior was simply divine. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to relax with a coffee and a treat. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their delicious offerings!
Been coming here regularly as part of my stroll and it’s always a welcoming experience to sit down, relax and enjoy a great cuppa coffee + banele ! Best way to kick start my day. Their banele taste and packaging is always on-point! :)
Putting a crisp crust on banana bread is such a delightful twist. Came in beautiful packaging with easy-to-understand instructions — I found it really thoughtful!
Been returning to Banele couple of times, to get my fav choco banana moist cake. Was the perfect combi for me, as chocolate cake is my childhood go to & banana is my fav fruit. Can’t ask for more. Best of all, it comes in smaller sizes . I don’t feel as much guilt as getting a std size cake.
These little banana bread-canele-brownie hybrids are easily the best banana bread I have ever had. I followed the reheating instructions provided which resulted in a perfectly fluffy and moist inside, with a crispy, crusty outside. I opted for the assorted classic banele, filled with Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate, peanut butter and jelly, and ground almond couverture. Tried one of each and surprisingly the almond was my favourite! Definitely worth the splurge.
Also, their service is fantastic. They are super responsive to messages, helpful and friendly, and were kind enough to fit in a last minute order for me, which I greatly appreciated. I’ll be ordering again for sure!
Best version of a banana bread ever. The financiers are also as good as if not better than super high-end bakeries.
Best kind of banana bread there ever is! Really yummy and everyone please go try it
Good!
Shiok to the max! A lot of pride and care from the boss <3
Best banana cake in Singapore!
