Bichi Bakehouse is a new HBB whipping up gorgeous sticky date pudding cakes that taste just as good as they look! 🎀 For the uninitiated, sticky date pudding originates from the UK, and usually consists of a sponge cake made with dates. 🍰 Bichi’s sticky date pudding cake uses organic dates that are caramelised, with an added a hint of spices and giving it an extra rich flavour profile. 🍮✨ The sponge is incredibly buttery and moist, with the dates evenly distributed throughout. The texture is similar to a banana cake, but with a intense honey-like aroma. 🍯 For us, the cake brought on some nostalgia, reminding us of the special occasions on which we would order this for dessert! The version we tried was 𝗕𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶’𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 (𝟰” $𝟯𝟵.𝟵𝟬), 🤍 where the cake was iced with a layer of baby pink cream on the outside and adorned with a lovely carnation along with some edible pearls. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the cream wasn’t overly sweet! 👍🏻 Extra butterscotch sauce is also given on the side for an extra toffee oomph, we found ourselves having the extras with toast too 😋 We could tell that our cake was crafted with love and were so thankful that we could share this with our family for Mother’s Day awhile back.
