Reviews of MICRO | bakery kitchen
First time visiting Micro Bakery over the weekend and it’s true, they have amazing sourdough! The tomato tartine.. is heaven!! Must try 🌟🥹
What I tried:
• Kanelbullar
Less sweet, a Swedish cinnamon roll with cardamom dough (though the cardamom is very faint and I could barely taste it)
• Tomato Tartine
MUST TRY! Every bite is a refreshing dance party in your mouth, with bursts of cherry tomato cutting through creamy ricotta. The combination of savoury sourdough + blistered juicy tomatoes + creamy ricotta + basil + olive oil = heaven ❤️ their sourdough is so so good too! Perfect texture contrasts and it wasn’t tough or difficult to cut through.
• Iced Cold Brew
Smooth, full-bodied with mild chocolate and slight acidic fruity notes, leaving a roasted aaftertaste. Good coffee.
• Iced Mocha
Delightfully rich decadent chocolate with expresso.
• Chamomile Lemonade
A refreshing respite from the heat: Zesty tangy lemon with warm buttery florals.
I visited their Tiong Bahru location and the place is lovely and cozy, with terracotta walls and lots of natural skylight. They provide self service water, paper bags (to take home any pastries you can’t finish) and cutlery. Definitely a must visit and I highly recommend the Tomato Tartine 💯
I’ll be back..!
i am a long time fan of their orange cold brew & have converted many friends HAHHAA
Dark chocolate zucchini cake was rly moist & fluffy !!
Caprese ciabatta(?) was good bred & i rly liked the combination of the cheese & the tomatoes !! But if you dont rly like tomatoes itll be too sour for you (like my dad who wanted it to have more seasoning ahahah)
Had the 4-cheese Grilled Cheese sandwich. Delicious! Also ordered an iced latte. Pretty good. Comes without sugar - add your own.
People hanging out by themselves, in pairs.. its a good vibe. One guy came with his bird (in a bird enclosure). Would definitely visit again. Say many people having the fig and cream cheese bread/pie thingy.
Quite crowded on a Sunday morning. The mushroom toast was really, really good—would try this place again.
Good selection of ala cart bakes besides the menu selection. Sausage roll is good. Coffee is good. Prices are acceptable. Staff is prompt with service.
Lovely seats at the back with the skylight.
Expect a crowd and a wait during peak.
Portion is big, food is delicious. Place is comfy
Food is awesome. Generally need to queue 10 mins on weekends but worth it
Greeted by very friendly staff when I walked in. Busy but quickly found a table for me Ordered the 4 cheese with 🍅 jam and a latte, both very tasty. Also walked out with a mushroom pie for lunch which was excellent. Great atmosphere.
The sourdough is definitely better than others I’ve tried but it’s extremely overpriced for the food . 2 slices of sourdough with a dab of butter for 8$. Jam has to be separately paid for which is the first I’ve encountered in all the cafes I’ve visited. Quite disappointing in this aspect.
Need to order a main before able to separately add on the additional so you will be unable to order scramble eggs alone. you’ll have to pair it with $8 (2 slices of sourdough) and then add on $6 for the eggs.
Definitely the first and last time for me here. At least the tomato sauce was free .
Bread selection wasn’t that big of a range but food was generally tasty! Rmb to request for them to warm up sandwiches as they might not!
Great bakery, lacklustre coffee.
Had the yogurt chia cake, gently sour, dense and slightly wet cake gave an impression of a creamy bite with a thick mouthfeel. Huge portion.
Orange americano was fun.
Espresso was astringent, poorly extracted imo.
Barista said ethiopian bean blend, but I can't identify it. Very little crema, poor balance. 2/5 espresso.
If a rustic bakes and dishes is what you are looking for, you can find in Microbakery. Had the bean stew, tasted fresh from an Italian grandma's kitchen. Will definitely return for a casual meal
overpriced cafe food, esp the breakfast platter. would recommend to share the brinjal flatbread as it gets boring after the novelty wears off in 3 bites
Very interesting cafe. Cozy, a little cold. Coffee is good, staff recommended the black drip coffee which was satisfying. Had the bacon and tempeh sandwich off the counter, very very good. And tried the garlic potato bread from the selection, tasty, can't go wrong.
Will definitely be back to try the other bakes.
Really really good sourdough egg tart and bread. The coffee and other pastries are average.
Amazing bakery with unique goods that you don’t find elsewhere. I’ve tried just about everything that is on display and don’t have a single critique. I like that they have vegan and gluten free options as well and good coffee.
The hype is real. Standouts include the fig danish, the egg tarts and the coffee spritz.
Top notch tomato tartines....burrata and the sourdough bread with pinch of salt, oliveoil just perfect..
Fantastic neighbourhood spot! Beautiful decor and good ambience. The food is excellent (try their tormato tartine, gazpacho, grilled cheese, and the brinjal flatbread), and the (specialty) coffee is superb. But the real stars of the show are their truly appetising freshly baked breads and pastries. A must try!
Finding the place was a bit tricky, and it's quite a distance from the station. I went there in the scorching afternoon heat and nearly felt like passing out. However, stepping into the cafe was a lifesaver; it was wonderfully cool inside. Their baked goods were delicious, and I ended up buying a bunch to take home. Plus, the coffee was pretty danm good too!
This is a newly open outlet that took over the previous forty hands cafe location.
The price is reasonable and the food is fresh.
I have a Americano $5 and fig and Cream Cheese bread $6. There are no additional GST and service charge which is a huge plus.
They warmed up the bread for me too and served with complimentary warm water.
The coffee taste good. There is no sour tones.
Great experience.
Delicious bakes, good coffee, helpful service. highlights are really the bread and pastries (will sell part of my soul for the zuccchini chocolate slice or the carrot… trust me on this). Love their specials too.
Don’t come expecting huge portions though - as the name says more of a bakehouse than a brunch place. the ambience is also very nice and cosy
What a fantastic addition to the Tiong Bahru neighbourhood. Micro is heads and shoulders above all the other TB bakeries. Food and coffee are exquisite, I love that the plant-forward menu is different from the typical Singaporean cafe fare - I lived in the UK for a long time and it’s very reminiscent of the bakeries/restaurants in East London. Service is also outstanding - special mention to William and Rachel - huge assets to the TB branch. You know they’re good when they remember your name and your order.
Really good bread; great addition to the neighborhood! Seeded sourdough is really above what we can find elsewhere in the area ;)
Maybe think of investing in a bread slicer if you can fit it somewhere ? Customers would like thinner sliced sourdough (esp when takeaway) and it would save some painful work to your staff :)
Ordered the Nut Butter Toast, Mushroom Toastie and Duck Ragout-Very Satisfying, goes very well with the Cold Brew! Worth visiting!
Nice cosy nook with plenty of natural light. Go in, have a coffee and some freshly baked breads, pastries, or order some well excuted hot foods that are simple and comforting.
Freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries. The caprese ciabatta is probably the best I’ve had.
Love what they have done with the place, I will die for the cranberry cheese bread sticks! so good!
Beautiful cafe. Good location. Natural light dining area. Good prices
its soo good, my god fabian they have such good sandwiches
Really good bakes and the sourdough bread was excellent
Love their banana bread and iced americano ☕️
Hope they have more seats. Or open a store in Vivo City or ARC.
Amazingly delicious Croissants
I visited this cafe specially when I was traveling in Singapore. The sourdough bread they produced were all great😋I still remember them now.
The egg tarts are indeed delicious! Breakfast is also good! There is nothing wrong with it except that it is expensive.
This is so weird. I don’t recommend it.
