Reviews of Tian Confectionery
Lady Boss is extremely friendly and patient with introducing the bakes. That being said, I found all the bakes I tried to be pretty average in taste despite reheating all of them in a toaster. What I was very disappointed with is
1. The “black sesame pastry”was actually red bean
2. I tried to clarify if the peanut/black sesame candy (pictured) was just peanuts inside with a black sesame coating but lady boss told me there was black sesame inside. Please review the cross-section for yourselves, photos do not lie.
To me it’s a 2/5 but I feel compelled to give an extra star for the friendliness.
I have been a long time fan of Tian Confectionary ever since they opened their outlet at Toa Payoh. I love it that they don’t use margarine (transfat) for their bakes. Thus I feel safe to enjoy the pastries.
I love their variety of fresh bakes such as Salted Tau Sar Piah, pastries with Red Bean fillings which is not so sweet, Black Sesame flavour which tasted fragrant and not so sweet too.
Sometimes they made pastries with special flavours, such as Tangerine and Green Tea which makes my tea break abit more special. :) And oh, their Butter Cake is buttery, fragrant and nice. Made with pure butter.
And not forgetting the Pineapple Tarts. I simply love the crust and the not-so-sweet fillings. It is a must have during CNY.
And the lady boss is forever so kind and friendly. I feel like a friend whenever I step into the shop.
So yeah, I would highly recommend this confectionary. 😊
One of the best piahs in Singapore. Good price as well. Worth a visit even if you stay in Jurong.
Good melon cake. Not too sweet, not too sticky. Very good melon cake.
Best yam mooncakes and peanut candy
A must try for traditional bakery products
