Reviews of Tiong Bahru Bakery
Been here 3 times and it never disappoints. I have tried several pastries and they are all consistently good. I recommend the Kouign Amann and the Matcha Croissant, which are very fragrant. Great customer service, the staff were all super helpful but what I loved about this place was the ambience. It was clean and comfortable to stay for a couple of hours, and the choice of music was exceptional. I will definitely patronise again
Finally tried Tiong Bahru Bakery, having heard quite a few people rave about it for a while now. Glad there’s an outlet on the sunny East side.
Really like the space - it’s naturally bright with a large counter and indoor/outdoor seating. I would say cleanliness wise, it’s just ok. Some of the seats are a bit soiled. Staff is friendly.
We ordered the following -
1) Egg Mayo and Smoked Salmon Pain Feullette - Love the croissant, it’s soft and yet retains the crispiness. The taste was really good, salmon was fresh and the cold egg-mayo complimented it well.
2) Chicken Pie with Sun-dried tomatoes - Liked this pie. Has the consistency of the local curry puff. Good filling of chicken.
3) Quiche Lorraine - Really liked this slice of quiche. Quite filling, comes with cream, eggs and bacon. The crust was crunchy.
4) Mocha - Flavourful chocolatey mocha.
5) Machiato - Served ‘dirty’, like I like it. Strong espresso. Good way to start the day.
I recently visited this café and had an absolutely delightful experience. The quiche was simply the best I’ve ever tasted—perfectly baked, with a rich, flavorful filling that was just divine. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the food here.
The customer service was also top-notch. The waitress was attentive, friendly, and made sure that everything was just right. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, paired with such great food, made for a truly enjoyable visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
The croissants and quiche we ordered were absolutely delicious and the croissants especially were impeccable, definitely a must have! I found the lemon tart a bit too sweet though.
If you plan to visit the bakery, I would suggest coming in the afternoon or so cuz they take their last order by 7:30PM!
(On a side note, having croissants can be a messy deal so if you’re planning to have a date here… maybe something to consider hehe)
Really a pleasing experience! We went during off peak period at 3pm+ in the afternoon so there isn’t many people. Ordered their salmon and spinach quiche + Turmeric latte. Love it :) when eaten hot, the salmon and spinach quiche taste awesome
I’m actually not a big fan of Turmeric but their turmeric latte is really nice and I feel like taking a second sip after my first ;)
Tiong Bahru Bakery is my favourite croissant 🥐 place. They open a lot outlets recently, with standard well maintained. Like the environment and layout here, although this outlet doesn’t serve full menu like other outlets. A good place to relax and quick catch up with family and friends.
Indian lady and malay gentleman working the closing shift provided the best service ever. So warm and friendly. They go the extra mile and are very patient with their customers. Thank u! TIONG BAHRU BAKERY MANAGEMENT GIVE THEM A RAISE OR A BONUS THIS CHRISTMAS, THEY DESERVE IT!!!
We went there for breakfast. High quality and very delicious. Nice staff. A bit on the pricey side
Ambience is good.
Food is nice.
The only flip side I feel the pricing is too steep.
The pricing doesn't include 10% SC and 8% GST.
Unlike Starbucks which is already nett what price u see is what u pay in Starbucks.
Average breakfast meal + a coffee can easily hit $20 to $30 per pax.
Paris Baguette will be a close competitor and slightly cheaper. DeliFrance will be slightly cheaper as well.
1 suggestion to stand out would be to also sell chinese breakfast as per what Tiong Bahru bao is famous for
Staff was pretty attentive and polite. First time coming to this outlet as it is within walking distance. The Kouign Amman is very nice.
Jenny was fantastic with her service and fresh attitude. She was constantly moving to serve, clean and make the atmosphere happy and caring. I shall make this my fav place now due to Jenny
So glad to see a TBB near my home! Such a lovely place to just chill and do coffee with my girl friends. Love the warmth of the team here! Thanks to the Manager Lai for introducing me to the new Kopi Pecan Kouign Amann! Super yumz! Thank you Jasmine and Aik Chong for your hospitality!
A good addition to the coffee culture in the East Coast area. Great coffee and nice croissants all around.
What’s great for me ?
Free flow of 2 choices of jam and a dispenser of water.
A nearby cafe charges me for pieces of butter and a packet of jam.
The only downside is the staff. I hope they will stop behaving as if they are fit only to serve the king’s family although we don’t have one here.
You will never remain good if you stop trying to be better.
The excellent service, great food and coffee and above all the friendliness of the staff makes this bakery a place I go to on a daily basis. Well done to the team for getting it right!
Nice to see this open in the east. Ambience is different from dempsey. Food especially croissant does not disappoint. Turnover was fast even for Sunday late brunch
First time to this location in Siglap . Spacious setting . And the coffee and croissants were as usual delicious . Will surely make more trips here . 👍
Everything from the food, the coffee and the atmosphere is really good 👍
Very good service here, fast service, warm and friendly staff. Croissants n cappuccino were perfect. Thanks Siglap team! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏆
Love their pain au chocolat. Staff is super friendly!
@jasmine is attentive and proactive . A simple “how’s the coffee” and a smile make a pleasant breakfast.
There’s an ongoing promotion that gives you a coupon to redeem a new consumable on your next return visit with a purchase.
ideal for breakfast and brunch with delicious breads and pastries including savoury ones. also serves good coffee.
My fav place for their granola yogurt. Chai latte was good too!
The croissant is always reliably good and with consistent quality across all outlets. Cappuccino and croissant is the perfect pairing.
Good quality pastries and coffee, but price is on the high side.
Must try: croque monsieur, kuign amann, and iced latte
Tiong Bahru Bakery Siglap is our go-to for a nice family time. Good food, good coffee, and the staff are really friendly. Jasmine and the team are always welcoming, kind, and very very helpful. Even when the shop get busy, they’re always accommodating. Keep it up!
Living in the East, very excited about TBB opening here. Have been here 3 times so far, service has been excellent and quality is consistent with original outlet.
Would like to personally commend a staff member “Vin”, very courteous, friendly and informative. I have met several service staff before and I feel this person has gone above and beyond what is expected from someone in his role. Got us seated without prompting, made helpful suggestions for ordering, welcomed us back and was very well spoken and smiling throughout.
Ill definitely be back for the pastries & coffee, and to get more chops on my loyalty card!
I recently visited this cafe and I was blown away by the quality of their service and food. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a comfortable and cozy setting. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always making sure that customers are happy and well taken care of. The coffee is delicious, brewed to perfection with rich and bold flavors. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a fantastic coffee experience.
A delight to have this iconic establishment in the East! Good location, handy to public transport. Unsure about parking as I didn’t drive. Staff were very friendly, cheerful, helpful & attentive. Was there for meeting (3 pax) & a staff (sorry, I can’t remember) came to help us shift coffees etc when a more suitable table became available.. she kept an eye out as we had earlier explained what we needed. Initiative! Internal layout was relatively expansive & ambience lovely. Food was delish.. goes without saying. Would definitely visit again.
My girl works here …so it’s the best and da bomb!!!! Have the savouries…HAVE THEM ALL!!!
Good coffee and quite environment but I don’t like the cold cut meat ciabatta, it taste bad. Probably I ordered wrongly, I’m not used to the meat that has a kind of “ smelly “ taste. Croissant is nice. Will return just to try other food . 1 coffee +1 ciabatta = $19
We’ve patronized a few TBB outlets, but this particular outlet at Siglap stands out above the rest, and that’s mainly due to this young lady staff, Ellen, who exudes such nice and pleasant personality.
Ellen is extremely friendly, proactive, and took effort to painstakingly share with every customer your current TBB promotion.
It’s quite a rare sight these days, to see someone handles the customers so well, with such dedication.
Kudos to this outlet : You’ve a “gem” …!!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Awesome vibe and great place to chill and have coffee on weekend morning
Yummy! Here's what we tried:
Salted egg bun - mildly salty paired well with the soft bun
Almond 🥐 - this is my mum's favourite, she says best in SG
Kouign Amman - sweet and buttery, crunchy finish.
Classic croissant - flaky and delicious, well executed version
Love this place! Croissants and baguettes are highly recommended. Coffee also good. Expensive but worth it as a a weekend treat!
Their kouign amann is still the most decadent and delicious pastry you can get in Singapore.
It doesn't hurt that the coffee is great too 😉
Best croissant and coffee experience. Great service by Chong and Jasmine. Feels warm and causy.
Excellent coffee, excellent service. Great place to have your afternoon coffee
Great service, makes our visit more pleasant. I've enjoyed the coffee always.
Enjoyed an egg and salmon crossiant with dad and had a pulled pork sandwich. Great coffee too.
its quite nice. enjoy environment with family last time. the price is resonable and the food is taste good. truely recommend.
Excellent taste and quick service even when they are fully packed. My favorites are almond croissant and almond chocolate croissant.
Pleasant ambience, delicious food, super nice and attentive staff. Worth returning for more.
Had a cup of mocha prepared by Jasmine. It was excellent!
Good service. Very good environment and relax place for high tea.
Love the crossiant and bakery food. Friendly staff too
Wished it was halal coz i heard the breads are delicious
Good try
The bread is toasted and crispy, and the coffee is delicious, but the price is too expensive. I only go there once a year, let’s see who else you can beat?
I thought the baguettes were great. Well, I make better cakes myself. I think the prices are a bit exaggerated for some things, but all in all it was great to have been there
