Reviews of The Elephant Room Singapore
what a unique concept! the drinks were amazing and so was the naan pizza :) they served us welcome and goodbye drinks. I highly recommend the chicken masala and mutton pizza, and I really liked jothi's flower shop for the drinks
They give you welcome cocktails…! 🫶(I mean when I went!) the experience was amazing. The service was very nice too. Well curated cocktails. It may contains quite strong herbal/Indian spices but if you are fan of Indian food, why not :]
Excellent cocktail bar with a really interesting selection of cocktails. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Also had the eggplant dip and pizza, both really good. A great find.
Fantastic bar. Such attentive and helpful service, with great suggestions of cocktails tailored to our preferences. The food is incredible too - what a great way to experience traditional Indian flavours in new ways. Cannot recommend this bar highly enough.
This was one of our favorite experiences in Singapore. We visited with a group of four people during the cocktail Festival weekend. When we arrived in the bar, the stuff welcome thus very warmly. They were recommended some of their best drinks based on our preferred taste and they were quite accurate because we enjoyed all of our drinks. We got the Cocktail Asura (our favourite), New Mango, Ginger Flower, and the Chai (very delicious). It looks like both of the bartenders were very attentive to our needs. They also stopped by our table and gave us recommendations about the nearby locale and were extremely friendly. We would never have experienced this in Toronto. It was such a unique experience in Singapore and we highly recommend this place.
My favourite cocktail bar in Singapore, delicious cocktails you won’t find anywhere else. All the spices and flavours used are interesting but I love the tarbooj with watermelon and dill. Revisited after their reopening, Jovin took the time to have a chat with us about the history and evolution of the place - great experience.
Nice ambience with unique Indian vibes. Cocktails were pretty good, each paying homage to spices and herbs common to Indian cuisine. The snacks were also tasty! Price on the higher side though, like $20-30 for a cocktail.
It is a place worth visiting, offering a wide variety of Indian-style cocktails.
Elephant Bar, Teck Lim Road: Distinctively and proudly Indian. 1294 days of operation as it proudly states at the bar too. The most striking thing at the bar - in the face of stiff competition of bells and whistles - is the friendly service. We were so lucky to have Jeeiven - gregarious and full of recommendations on the best bars to tuck into in Bangkok and KL. He takes his craft very seriously. We were only here for a drink but we got so much more than 3 drinks anywhere else. We also had free tipples on the house. It’s not the crowd-pleaser drinks you get here - there is a daring feat of taste pollination with Indian flavours. The presentations are intriguing and the tastes very inspiring. Back again? Yes please. #eatstylishtravelstylish
This place was all about the experience, every dish has a story, a history, an inspiration.
The portions are amazingly small (they explain as this is ‘bar food’ it was supposed to be small). My friend brought me here as she wanted to experience ‘Putu Mayam’ - and this place was highly recommended for it. It was good though I thought it would be better if the portion was bigger.
The cocktails were good but again, in small portions (that’s the 4 star rating reason). All was made esthetically pleasing but not portion wise satisfying. However if you like the small tasting potions (and yet don’t mind the prices) this is the place for you.
Service was excellent - staff were fully engaged and are happy to tell the story and background behind every dish.
Recommended, but maybe get some meal and a drink before coming.
A no frills bar with very warm and welcoming staff. It's a comfortable and unpretentious space, would come here for a solo drink to be honest.
The menu is interesting and the flavours are inspired by Indian flavours. I tried the Tom Collins which was one of the better drinks I tried. To be honest, I was expecting stronger flavours but I could see how they were trying to make the drinks more palatable for the general public by making the spices more muted.
Love the drinks, food, vibes and people!
Han was very informative and friendly :)
This was my first cocktail bar experience in Singapore and I can honestly say, this place really impressed me. They have such a unique collection of drinks available, the bartenders are really helpful in working with you to decide what kind of drink will suit your taste. I tried the Chicken Curry, Missing Since 1984 & Spiced Crab Rasam. All of which where completely brilliant and really put a smile on my face. The standout was the Spiced Crab Rasam. truly stunning drink.
Great bar, definitely worth a trip here. The cocktails are inspired by Indian spices and cuisine. The Kamasutra one, for instance, is savory and a bit garlicky and has a lot of heft (in a good way). Everything we tried was good, including the dessert. The owner and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful. You won't go wrong giving this place a try.
Service was awesome! There’s a welcome drink and the bartender explained my drink rlly well with the different types of herbs available. Even had samples! Food was awesome as well. Bartender was very attentive! Love the ambience as well, music wasn’t too loud.
Cocktails are amazingly bold and packed with spices. Bartender is very friendly and passionate about his craft. Each drink tells its own story through the complexity and harmony of flavours. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for non-ordinary cocktails!
What an amazing experience it was! Came again to try the new menu and it was worth it.
Yugi and his team use amazing and new ingredients, almost unheard at times in their cocktails. The format and presentation is unique and the staff makes sure they explain to you the cocktail and how the ingredients fit together.
Go with an open mind and be bold in trying out new flavours. One or two might be a miss but on the whole, totally worth it and will be back again.
In picture - Asura, New Mango, Indian Lion.
My first time here. Interesting concept celebrating Little India. Nice interiors. Cool and friendly bartenders. Good cocktails and interesting food. The farewell drink was 💪🏻. We need more cocktail bars like this one.
What was most apparent was the generosity of the measures of alcohol in their cocktails. Most were very spirit-forward in the beginning (which I enjoyed) and settled into a perfect balance a minute or two after being served. Cocktails were generally very clean and enjoyable, and each had identifiable Indian-leaning flavours which were a treat. Jimmy made our experience at the bar a very personalised one, and is part of the reason why we'll definitely come back again. Have the okra fries while you're at it, a savoury and spicy snack which perfectly complements the flavours in their cocktails.
I had the Mango cocktail — while flavours were interesting, it tasted more like a mocktail than anything else. Wasnt very effective as an alcoholic drink.
Not sure if I’ll be back as there was nothing especially unique about the vibes either. Staff was hovering around our table way too much.
You like discovering new taste, this place is for you. The coktails are surprising and excellent.
The staff was amazing also, explaining the spices, recipes, flavours... So just go and enjoy !
The staff service is really nice. Ambience is good. Taste of food is good and the combination of different drinks literally you will be surprised 😋. A best place to have a lovely evening hangout with friends-family-loved1s.
I always love going to a themed cocktail bar - this was particularly great. We came on a Tuesday evening snd I love how friendly and engaging the team were - explaining how the inspiration of the cocktail came from and each different flavour profile. Kudos to the team there- Rafael, Alfi & Yugi! We’ll be back ...
Exceptional experience and drinks. Very well thought out concept of bar, menu, etc. Staff was very friendly and explained the drinks very well too 🙂 excited to go back to try their new menu soon.
Excellent experience at the Elephant Room! The bartenders and service were fantastic and extremely welcoming. The vibe and theme of the place were really good as well. The level of effort that they put in their cocktails is next level. By far one of the best cocktail bars on the stretch. Definitely coming back for more in the future!
Cocktails were all created with much thoughts and ideation.
We love the experience and the service. Must visit. The mango drink, the goldsmith, the pink guava are some of our favourites.
8.5/10
Had dinner and drinks here a couple times, worth it.
Highlights include the fried chicken burger, and jackfruit meatballs (I liked it).
Drink highlights - Jothi.
What an amazing cocktail bar! Such a unique take, inspired by Indian flavours and culture. Highly recommended
Great drinks at Elephant Room as they lean into the Indian theme to blow your mind with interesting takes on cocktails. Brenda was is mixologist with brilliant potential and really helped to make it an awesome night out! Even helped us find another establishment down the road! Top marks to her.
This is a place that understands flavour profiles. It's a treat to be seated at the bar to watch the bartenders work their magic like in a chemistry lab. We were graced by Han that evening and he came off as a friend more than a server/staff and you learn so much about the drinks, which added on to such a super experience. The bar holds an impressive selection of Indian based liquors and creative cocktails that packed a punch of spices and flavours; seems like they switch up their recipes/menu often and this itself is inviting me to return for more! Didn't try the food but will definitely do that the next time!
Overall a refreshing experience and cute spot. The only ambiguity is the stairway entrance with fluorescent lights, which contrasted with the bar interior 180!
Spent my birthday night here & was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. I was extremely pleased by the unique range of cocktails here. Brownie points as they had great knowledge about every drink served & even curated drinks according to my liking. Such a gem for cocktail lovers 💎
I was so sad that we discovered the Elephant Room on our last night in Singapore. We were in a rush to leave to get ready for an early morning flight and I would have loved to make a full night of it. I guess we saved the best for last?
The Elephant Room is a truly unique cocktail bar located up a narrow stairway and behind a curtain. The space itself is small, warm, and inviting. We had the privilege of sitting at the bar where we had the pleasure of getting to watch the bartender mix our drinks.
Their cocktail menu is inspired by various regions in India. I started with the Cocktail Asura which combines flavours of lime, curry, and orgeat and is topped with a charred curry meringue. I've never had anything quite like it. The flavours were perfectly balanced and this is a great option for someone looking for a sweet, but not sugary, cocktail. My favourite part was how they served it in what the bartender joked was an "Indian tiki mug".
We were only going to grab one drink but once the bartender found out it was the last night of our honeymoon, he bought us another round of cocktails that were just as good as the first.
The next time we are in Singapore, I am going to prioritize revisiting the Elephant Room and I'd recommend any other cocktail lover do the same.
The drinks are complex, but alcohol forward. Mine was buttery, my partner’s was too strong for her. If you’re well-versed in cocktails you’ll find this place masterful, but don’t expect a gin and tonic.
The service is extremely attentive and very friendly, the experience includes an entrée and a dessert drink. The atmosphere is lovely.
A nice cocktail bar with Indian inspired cocktails and food. The food when they had a full menu was good, the service is good, the staff are nice and friendly. Sadly, you go to a cocktail bar for the cocktails and that's where it let's you down. T Most cocktails were heavy on the sweetness and lacked balance. If you're not a fan of sweet drinks, then options are limited and I'd suggest the spirits. If you do like sweet drinks, do go. 😀
Very nice atmosphere! Menu is awesome ! Bryanni and curry chicken ain't food!
When I first stepped into the Elephant room, I had no idea what was in store for me. The service is impeccable, from the moment you step into the place, there will someone to greet you and show you to the seat. After-which, it'll be a rich cultural history of why and how they make their cocktails. They will recommend specific drinks to you. I am a person who is a nit picky eater and when I tried their dishes, i was floored by it. From the Indian fried chicken burger to the Jackfruit meatballs (which are my top 2 in the restaurant) I am wow-ed by the creativity and effort that they put into their restaurant. I have been back 5 times in the last three months since I've found it and have been introducing different people to it. I can't wait for new things in the menu and I will be definitely be back for more.
The place is cosy and located in a rather quiet corner of Teck Lim Road. The food is delicious. The cocktails are amazing- whether you like it sweet or bitter, strong or light, they have something for everyone. The staff are super courteous and polite with excellent service, extremely knowledgeable about the ingredients and always happy to give you suggestions or explain the drinks to you. But the best thing for me was that this tiny space had ‘gender-neutral toilets’, which is the way to go. Great Job, Elephant Room!
Fairly interesting cocktails with an Indian twist. Friendly staff proudly explaining every drinks.
The service is good. A very small place. They take the time to explain about each cocktail and enjoyed it. Very good food too. Bit overpriced. I was ok as the quality was good. Would loved if it was bit more clean and maintained. We had a drink and a plate to eat. Then got out as it was too small to hangout for long.
Really really interesting cocktails, very well made and with just the right blend. Excellent staff, especially the bartender Yugi, why explains exactly what's in the drink as he's serving it to you. Very hospitable, great service, perfect ambience. All in all, a good way to spend your evening.
Holy moly. This bar is amazing. Well worth every penny!! I’m gonna be a local. No so should you.
Stumbled upon this bar and thought of exploring it after reading some promising reviews online. My husband and I were super hungry and wanted some good food and drinks. Interesting concept Of adding Indian flavors to cocktails. I was slightly disappointed my the tiny menu (under 10 items for food) wish they had more variety and options. They are well known for the cocktails. However, we really wanted to have beer. So the only option was bira beer. They also serve a welcome drink. For food, we ordered deep fried snake gourd (forgot the Tamil name). It was so cripsy and yummy and was served with a rich tomato based sauce. I hope they expand the menu in future.
Great place, we were delighted to find them! Love all the extra touches like the fabric coasters, the amenities in the bathroom but the service was the shining star of the evening. Staff were so friendly and attentive. If you go, sitting at the bar and watching the cocktails being made is a must!
We dropped in and had a nightcap - it was a superb experience. The cocktails were provoking, balanced, complex and delicious. Each seemed to have an accompanying story, inspiration and well-crafted ingredient profile. Rare to have an enriching cocktail experience with so many new flavors.
Props to Rishi and staff for a great night
Cool vibes inside. Didn't have the food, but all of the drinks I had tasted like cough syrup.
Great concept overall which was evident in the most unique of beverages; had The Mango and Buffalo Road, both of them were refreshingly good drinks!
Simple and themed snack menu - the Spiced Cashews and the Gobi Manchurian we delicious and paired very well with the drinks.
Outstanding service by Yugi, Vishy (and everyone for that matter).
Definitely coming back!
Amazing drinks, food and atmoshere. Each cocktail was so well crafted and packed with flavour. The pulled pork dish was epic. The staff were really friendly too!
Warm service with well thought out cocktails.
They are well equipped with a good selection of gin craft cocktails
Great bar atmosphere. Fantastic staff. Really cool and peculiar drinks. Food was also great too. All in all a perfect place to hang out, chill out and have a few.
Very interesting concept. Drinks are on costlier side but very unique and I will def try again.
Note that not much food options. So better to have dinner and come only for drinks (unless they evolve their food menu)
Great Cocktail Bar. Nice bartenders: Just told them which kind of alcohol I like etc. and they mixed something special…awesome
Music is perfect, same as the atmosphere
Lovely spot for a pre/post dinner cocktail. Attentive service and lovely concept built around our very own Little India. Will definitely be back again.
Love the Indian spice cocktails...amazing and love the music...but very dusty inside, it's itchy. Need to clean the bar
I enjoyed my experience there. The service was great !The owner and staff were very polite, well informed and the food was great 👍.Every little detail was looked into. I just thought the place could do with a little sprucing up and more light .
Amazing drinks! One of the best cocktail bars I’ve been to. Highly recommended!
Great cocktail and super service.
Exquisite drinks. Mind-blowing food. Professional and personal service.
Impressive drinks inspired by Indian spice
Abit pricey but nice ambience and the cocktails are good
Was a pretty good find serving amazing cocktails
Great service, creative cocktails
A mix between chemistry laboratory and bar and a lot of creativity. Really impressive, thank you!
