I chose Shuzhen based on a recommendation from a good friend. Shuzhen has an incredible talent for making people look like the best versions of themselves! I absolutely love her signature fresh floral hairstyles, and the makeup looks stunning in photos. She was incredibly easy to work with. The makeup session felt therapeutic, it helped calm down my nerves. I highly recommend utilising the groom styling session as well, so you can marry an even more handsome version of your future husband.

I engaged Shu Zhen for both my pre-wedding shoot and actual day as I was a fan of her natural and soft makeup style. Shu Zhen is so professional, friendly and really delivered on both the makeup and hairstyling. The guests loved the touch of impromptu florals she gave me for my AD hairstyle and also said my eyes have never looked bigger thanks to her beautification 😆 I have a lot of dark marks around my jawline due to hormonal acne which were nicely concealed too. Shu Zhen also thoughtfully prepared a cute touch-up kit for me to bring along for the day (with an eye-drop tube which was a lifesaver for contact lens users with dry eyes like me 🥹). It was overall such a pleasant experience engaging Shu Zhen and really put me in a good state of mind ahead of the big day too. Thank you Shu Zhen! 😘

Not only is she a talented and passionate makeup artist, she is also friendly and warm who made me feel comfortable right away. I've tried other MUAs before and Shu Zhen stood out because she was able to give me look that made me looked like I glowed from within. Highly recommend Shu Zhen from Canvaseety, she is truly amazing, everytime she works on my face i feel like a canvas and that she is gently painting on my face but also very efficient as she completed both mine and groom makeup and hairdo earlier than our expectation. Throughout the entire experience she made me feel very comfortable and thank you for making us look so flawless and made me look incredibly beautiful on our special day. Also I engaged another 2 makeup artist under her recommendations for both our mums and they loved it! I engaged Shu Zhen as my AD MUA and I have no regrets at all! I really liked the bridal look she created for me, which looks so clean, flawless and glowy yet still manages to still look so natural. She was really good with choosing the colour palette and I did not have to give any inputs at all. Initially I was worried that the makeup would look too thick or too different from my actual look, but Shu Zhen did such a great job and I was 100% satisfied with the end look. She also helped me with my eyelid correction, which previous MUA I have engaged before were not able to do so, so I was really happy about it. She also helped me styled a braided updo which looked really elegant and had really nice textures. Would definitely recommend her services to future brides and anyone who is looking to have a natural makeover look.

Getting Shu Zhen to do my PWS and AD is one of the best decisions I’ve made ☺️. I love her style of makeup, even my Mum constantly compliments how natural yet elegant it looks during the actual day. Her skills are really commendable and I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a makeup artist! Not only that, her hairstyling skills are amazing as well. She’s attentive to details and spends quality time to ensure everything is in place! Personally, I feel that makeup is one of the most important part of a wedding! It is always a leap of faith engaging any make up artist especially without trial and I’m glad I chose Shu Zhen! I’ve never felt pretty in make up before (even if done by professionals) but I really feel that Shu Zhen knew how to bring out the best of my features without making look completely different. She was also very easy and fun to talk to and punctual. I also felt comfortable sharing with her my concerns including how some parts of my hair looks too thin and she would know how to “cover up”. Thank you for being part of my big day by making me feel pretty and confident. I think in my whole life, I’m the prettiest on my Pre-Wedding Shoot day and Wedding Day thanks to her! Sounds exaggerated but really it’s the truth!

Zero regrets engaging Shu Zhen for both my pre-wedding shoot and wedding day. I've never looked so good before lol. My skin looked flawless, even though I had a fresh pimple on my actual day. Such skill?! I loved the looks and the hairstyles that Shu Zhen created. Both looks she created were very natural, which was exactly what I wanted. For the hairstyles, she not only took into consideration my preferences, but also the gown I'd be wearing and what I'd be doing for that day. Like some of the other reviews mentioned, she also helped to trim my fringe to ensure that it framed my face well. The bridal makeovers came with a complimentary groom makeover. It defo wasn't any heavy makeup for my husband, but he did look much neater, and less intense eyebags are always welcome. He was initially a little sceptical but was also convinced after he saw the before/after. Shu Zhen was on time for both days (early in fact), which was so important especially since the makeover is usually the first thing on the schedule. She was also v considerate to check in if she should ring the doorbell or just text when she arrived early in the morning. The makeovers in the morning are really the calm before the storm, the busyness of the day. I loved how Shu Zhen created such a comfortable and peaceful environment during the sessions, and the great conversations were a great bonus :)

I first engaged Shu Zhen for my D&D few years back and I really loved how natural the makeup turned out. Fast forward to my PWS and wedding day - I engaged her again without any hesitation (thankfully she was available on both dates!) Shu Zhen is very professional and she is really good at what she does. I have really bad dark eye circles and TBH its one of my biggest insecurities. She managed to conceal them so well and the whole look made me feel so confident and comfortable. PLUS POINT: Even my husband who hates seeing make up on me complimented on all the looks she created for me! Really goes to show how natural the whole look was. And everyone complimented my makeup after sharing with them the PWS photos! She is also super easy to get along with! All the sessions with her were super comfortable as she engages in great conversations with her lovable personality alongside with ~soothing~ background music with her portable speaker. Her work partner, Ariel is also super friendly and professional. Even though I did not get to work with her, both my mother and sister were very pleased with their looks and I kept hearing laughters coming from the next door hahah. Can't say enough great things about Shu Zhen, I highly highly recommend her for all the brides-to-be out there!!! Would definitely find her again for my future events so... see you soon Shu Zhen :')

Shuzhen was a joy to work with for my wedding! She was not only professional (very punctual, prompt to reply. Etc.) she was gentle on my skin and offered really helpful and useful suggestions! I’m not a fan of heavy makeup and she pulled off a natural look on me and received compliments from friends + had other guests enquire about her services after my wedding. Shuzhen was really on time, both sessions with her she came 10mins early, and was absolutely professional I told her about my needs for my make up and was worried that it’ll be too heavy and I didn’t want to look over done, she worked on what makes me feel beautiful, she was so humble and listened to what I was fearing and was really reassuring. My final look was a perfect fit for what I needed. Besides that we have had great conversations throughout the sessions. Thank you for making me feel so beautiful, confident and comfortable throughout my wedding . Thank you for styling my hair to a perfect frame of my face. My sessions with her were one of my best parts of my wedding. She was absolutely careful with helping me into my gown constantly asking if I was comfortable and if everything is okay for me. On top of this due to COVID restrictions constantly changing I have had to keep changing my plans. She was really patient with me throughout and helped me with all my schedules with her easily and with the other MUA I arranged with her even up to 2 days before the wedding day!! From the start of our engagement with her to the end not once she made me feel worried or stressed out. Honestly, I would highly recommend her for any make up services / hairstyle services you need.
