Reviews of Brostern
Good food, great service! Regular to this hawker store and yet the best!!! so I’ve tried most of everything. All is delicious, the dishes, appetizers and even the sauces. Their platters called, Brostern Ambeng, a malay cuisine name infused with western cuisine, are great for sharing and affordable. Is a must order and once you go try you will never stop trying.! Marvelous! Best Recommended!

This is one of my favourite Western hawker places because I love how generous they are with the portion of cheese on my Volcano Burg, which is absolutely delightful.
However, their service can be slow at times. I waited around 45 minutes one time just for ordering the Volcano Burg. Wish I didn’t have to wait so long..
One of the best Roti John’s I’ve had! The bread was fresh, soft and fluffy. The mozzarella cheese and mayo went well with ground beef and egg. I had the John Tarik which was 50cents more but it was well worth it. Will come back and try their burgers and pastas next.
First time visiting this stall in Ci Yuan food center on a Friday evening dinner time. Ordered Fish and Chips and Chicken Cutlet. Waited for about 30mins.
Food is above average and price is low compared to similar stalls in the area.
The stall is quite popular, so be prepared to wait.
Service can be improved by informing customers about the estimate wait time.
Take note that Brostern occupies two stalls - one that serves their more extensive menu and one that just focuses on fried chicken thigh + briyani/flavoured rice. Overall good spot for interesting Malay-Western fusion, but nothing too inventive. Fills you up.
Had the create your own meal.
Butter rice - probably the best here. Flavorful and makes you go for more but too much rice.
Chicken chop - pathetic size, skin is over grilled like chao tar.
Sides (coleslaw and mashed potatoes) - nothing much, pretty normal.
For $6, i am disappointed, especially coming a long way for this.
Underrated western food that happens to be halal. Warm and friendly staff that greets with a smile. Food portion is very very generous. The aglio olio is especially superb. Worthy of #cleanplateclub
Huge portion at an affordable price tag! Ordered the chicken burger with ramly sauce which came with complementary fries. Satisfactory meal with great service as well. Will definitely be coming back here again! :)
Third visit, Very friendly Brother, it's good western food at affordable prices, nice cheese fries, glad that we decided to try out and will definitely come and visit again.
Had ordered a Chicken Chop at 2.30pm for Dine-In.... Just had to wait 10mins, very reasonable timing for fresh food that's served hot. Great ambience for Family Dining at a food court clean & well maintained. The Chop came with sweet Black Pepper sauce, thick and savoury. It had a side of simple slim french fries and coleslaw in small adequate portions.
Highlight is the size of the Chicken Chop. It's well worth the $6 price tag because it was a very good XL portion reminiscent of food in the early 90s in Singapore when rentals weren't so high. Nowadays vendors have to cope with high online delivery orders but these guys retain quality and friendliness.
Overall 5 stars, keep up the good work guys. 👍👍👍
Nice food. Came to try it. Had the ayam lemak chili padi pasta and DIY meal or smth. Food was great.
The roti john tarik was real yummy. The cheese inside it makes all the difference.
Although the aglio pasta could have a bit more seasoning.
The lemak chilli padi was a bittt too much lemak, and could put lesser kunyit as its too yellow 😂
But overall, great job. Would come here again if im nearby.
Affordability and food quality is the key, and Brostern has the philosophy. So awesome is their service standards that me and my family and friends come again and again religiously. Defination of good and cheap food with an outstanding portion. Never go wrong with their must try the roti john n chicken chop.
Tried their "Make your own meal" and had chicken chop with butter rice.
Love how tender their chicken is and the mushroom sauce is delish. Butter rice is buttery and fragrant. Coleslaw is sweet and crunchy.
I would say it is one of the gems in Ci Yuan CC.
Value for money, the food was good especially their chicken chop! My go-to place for western. Won't go wrong when you're on a budget but want to eat a hearty western fushion food. 👍🏼
Food is good, people complain about prices…its western food what you expect? 4 dollar chicken chop?
1st time here, tried their chicken roti john and requested it with lemak cili padi. Delicious 👍👍👍👍👍.
Cashier 👍👍👍👍👍 great customer service.
I tried their aglio olio with grill fish and volcano burger. Delicious food and good service from friendly staff at the counter. Must try their volcano burger it’s their specialty.
Always liked the food here. Top recommendations would definitely be the Tom Yum pasta, if you can take a little spice.
Very nice and affordable western food, good variety of payment modes available too.
Affordable halal western food in the heartland of hougang. Delicious and the portion are generous
Awesome food. Amazing value. Can't recommend enough! Must try!
