Reviews of Charcoal Char Siew Wanton Noodle
Tasty food and good service.
Ordered a chicken feet noodles ($4.50) with extra noodles ($1) and extra veggies (supposed to be $1 but uncle said he wouldn't charge me). Plus, a dumpling soup ($4.50).
Would say that the noodles were good and still felt QQ / springy / al dente. The chicken feet tasted yummy too. Quite succulent for a virtually meatless chicken part.
Dumplings were great too. There were so many whole small prawns inside each dumpling!
Uncle was especially helpful. He told me to go and eat the noodles first while he cooked the dumpling soup. He then brought me the soup himself. And when he saw I was struggling (a little) to toss and coat the noodles in the sauce, he offered to help cut the noodles up. Not just that, he also cleaned the table with a sanitizer spray when he saw me swatting flies away. Thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼
Sorry, in the pics, I already tossed the noodles so you can't really see the chicken feet.
Char Siew Wanton Kway Teow

🍜 Food wise: Delicious! Vibrant colours, big puffy Wantons and fatty red Char Siew, looked appetizing already before even eating, a plus point for that. Notice that the noodles also had a good layer of soup/sauce underneath the kway teow, which made the kway teow nice and moist, ensuring the sauces coated well onto it. Sure enough, the kway teow was flavourful, springy, chewy, fragrant with the chilli paste and the pork lards with each mouth.
The Wantons were big, round, firm and fresh ingredients within, and had great meaty aromas. The char siew came with layers of fats, glazed and perfectly roasted, no unwanted chars. Each slice of them was sweet, savoury, and juicy, so good!
✨ Ambience wise: Hawker Centre! The standard busy hawker that one can expect, was not exactly clean but had queues here and there.
🤵🏻 Service wise: Great! Aunties and Uncles were prompt in service!
💵 Price wise: $4.50
