b. c.Chanced upon this stall beside Whampoa Keng resto. There were a few Thai diners; positive indicator. I glanced at the plates of basil (kraPow) dishes being served and knew exactly what to order :)

D. Y.Hom Tang's Balestier branch located in the same kopitiam as Shi Kou Seafood, Triple N and Diva's Muslim Food. Good authentic Thai food that taste very good, friendly boss lady and staff. Prices are acceptable and pretty close to heartland prices despite being located along the Novena stretch of Balestier Rd. I highly recommed their Pineapple Pork Fried Rice and Red Tom Yam soup, muslim friends do note it is not halal just like their other branches at Punggol, Marsiling, etc.
