Reviews of Ipoh Town Kopitiam
Tried both the curry hor fun and soup prawn hor fun. The presentation was good when it was served but the shredded chicken they put in both of the meal tastes and smell terrible! The choice of food was also very limited. Finish less than half the bowl of the soup as the smell from the shredded chicken is to strong.
Tried the nasi lemak and the Ipoh hor fun soup .
The nasi lemak came with a generous piece of fried chicken … this is the star of the show accompanied by the sambal chili .
Ipoh hor fun soup was nice, very smooth thin hot fun , came with 2 prawn .
This could have been a four star rating but I was super thirsty after the meal , whatever they are putting in the food for favouring , please relook.
I will recommend the Nasi lemak, fried chicken was good. As for the rest, not so impressive. Service was friendly, price on the high side due to location. Can try.
Their Nasir Lemak chicken is the gem , fried to perfection . Curry noodles and toast are good, and the Milo Dinosaur is commendable . We truly enjoyed the meal
Trying out a new outlet in jewel. The staff are very friendly. I get the opportunity to sit n watch the famous waterfall trickle down as u slowly sip their delish Ipoh White coffee.
We went for the Ipoh hor fun and Nasi ayam goreng Berempah. The hor fun was chock full of ingredient and the soup was tasty. Only wish that the soup was hotter (it was lukewarm) and the prawns peeled. The fried chicken was delicious, hot and tender. The chicken skin was crispy and full of flavour. Only complain was the warm rice (prefer it piping hot). And I couldn’t get used to the chilli sauce as it was the sourish type. I would have preferred the Nasi lemak type of chilli which was sweet. We also tried the Portuguese egg tarts and enjoyed them.
I had a simple lunch at Ipoh Town @jewel. I ordered the nasi Ayam goreng berempah and white coffee. The chicken is good, tender and marinated well but it’s quite big for me. Love the chilli 😋.
Chicken drumstick is de-boned! Makes eating nasi lemak so much more pleasant:)
Food is generally good. Steamed char siew bao is great! Fried prawn roll is a little too oily.
Nasi lemak is the best here. The fried chicken is really really good. Quite busy but price for The Jewel is affordabLe.
The food is average but it is not cheap either. But because many other places are crowded so this was the best choice. Try it and see whether you agree with my review😃we went there yesterday 26 Jun Thursday. We had dinner for 3. The rice was normal. The noodles was not bad but the tart was sweet. They close at 9pm so payment has to be made after 8pm.
Was tried to have a lunch in this restaurant and is surprisingly delicious especially the siew mai highly recommended, the egg tart is very crunchy, prawn horfun broth is very delicious not only that i will like to compliment staff Gary for serving us and he engage with customer very well and made me have a good dining experience. Really good restaurant.
tried a few dishes, so so and not outstanding. The hor fun broth was only a little warm quite disappointing. However service staff was doing a great job during the lunch hour.
The food is really good. I ordered Nasi Ayam Goreng and Fragrant curry toast with soft boiled egg. I really love it 😋. You should try!
We ordered the Ipoh hor fun and laksa. Frankly, we found both soups to be too bland and not really hot, which was quite disappointing. if they can served the peeled prawn would be great.
good :
coffee is great 👍🏼 thick bold and hot . the real ipoh style
rendang pie is unique , with real chicken inside and flavourful but kinda spicy
fried chicken is awesome , very similar to some peranakan style fried chicken . punch of flavoured and marination in it
bad :
the glutinous rice is not fresh , it is not warm and it is over steam , too marshy
the fried char siew bao have too little filling and thick crust . please change to siew bao which more suitable to majority
overall : is good for tea break as there is only four main dish to choose from . menu is really short . price is on high side
Chicken hor fun with prawn taste ok but shredded chicken was too dry/tough. Nasi Ayam goreng berempah reasonably good.
The soup is really good. Can taste the milk! The char siew fried pao is great!
Egg tart is nice, not too sweet. I like the milk tea which is served in a heavy glass mug and I can specify no sugar. Table and chairs are new and clean. Prices are very reasonable for the location in Jewel.
Tried the Nasi Lemak with Chicken Berampah. The rice did not taste like coconut rice that you expect in Nasi Lemak. Chicken Berampah was well seasoned but over-fried, resulting in rather dry meat.
Star of the dish was the sambal chili.
For 11.90, it's not worth the try.
Ice kopi was decent, though not the best.
Best ayam rempah!!! Best choice food before leaving sg. We have a lot food! The ice coffee I forgot the name but so good, the lava chocolate bao so bomb inside your mouth
Overall good experience here, staff was very friendly & food was hot when it came :) chicken was dry but overall taste still ok 8/10
Looked like a limited menu for soft opening, at least they were good with the coffee on any day. Broaden options to keep people coming back!
Curry toast and their signature dish are nice.
The food is served fast during lunch time and it tastes good. Staff are attentive as well.
Food is tasty and unique. Coffee is good too.
Landed and had a great lunch at Ipoh Town despite during the peak hours, staff are attentive and quick to reduce our waiting time especially grateful to it as with our luggage.
Good soup and chili. 😋
Chanced upon this restaurant at Jewel and warmly greeted by the staff as we were looking at the menu. We decided to give this a try and ordered the Nasi Ayam Goreng, and a steamed beancurd roll.
Service was prompt and the food was good - flavourful yet not too salty.
Sar Hor Fun 9/10👍. Soup/gravy on par with the best in Ipoh. 2 mid sized whole Prawns are fresh. Hor Fun noodle silky smooth. Only letdown was the dry tasteless shredded chicken breast meat. They should provide the option to add additional Chicken Drumstick meat. Don't need to brave the Causeway jam to drive to Ipoh anymore. Fried Char Siew Pau pretty good too. Only comment is that it is slightly oily. Will definately patronise again.
I came for the Rempah fried chicken nasi lemak and curry toast with soft boiled egg. It’s fried chicken piece is generous in size with proper marination, with just the right crispiness and texture. The accompaniments are fresh.
The curry toast is something new which I wanted to try and it doesn’t disappoint. I also tried the fried char Siew bun. The texture is like fried mantau. Though the size is small and the char siew is limited but the infused char siew is delicious to the palette. Wish the portion can be more generous.
The crispy Ayam goreng was a generous serving and quite well marinated. Sambal was more salty than sweet and tasted good. The warm mulberry tea was of the right sweetness. On the whole a satisfying meal.
Average at best. Limited selections, nothing stood out.
Order salted egg lava custard buns, too powdery
Char siew bun, char siew not fresh.
Loumai gai chicken not fresh.
4 pax $50+, slightly expensive for microwave food.
The saving grace was the ipoh white coffee.
Ate the chicken horfan, nasi ayam goreng & curry toast, and my family love the food. Service was prompt as well. Highly recommended to eat here if u are at Jewel.
The nasi ayam goreng is good and portion is huge! Kopi is nice and not too sweet. Good service and ambience! Kids love the food too. Will come back again :)
The chilli of the Nasi Ayam was tasty and ups the flavour of the dish.
The steam bun can be improved on it overall texture.
Will surely come again
Nice meal even when you are eating alone.
Food is amazing! The staff are very nice and accommodating! Service is topnotch!
A lil bit of wait but was worth it! Servings and service was good :)
First time visiting since they opened. Great food and great service 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 each dish we ordered was really flavourful and delicious 😋
The Nasi Ayam Goreng, is over cooked, very hard, feels like eating rubber, tasteless, the skin of the chicken is hard like rock, cutting my tongue.
Coffee is good
Love the food v.authentic and with a waterfall just right beside, great food and a stunning view. Awesome 👍
a little ex...need waiting for a cup of kopi & egg tarts..
Fast service and tasty food!
Tastey food. Love it !
Food was really nice. Enjoyed the Malaysian food in SG. Service was great.
Been here many times. Like the snacks and coffee
Ipoh chicken hor fun was delicious and light! Taste profile was deeper than other places p
Liang's service and attitude was good. He served us happily even we are the last customer for the day.
Came at around closing time, staff were accommodating, Food and drinks were served fast and tasty.
Horfun is must try
Overall oke. Thanks ipoh restaurant
Fast service
Nice food
Limited options for the mains and the quality of the food is mediocre. Prices are on the high side for the quality. Unlikely to visit again.
Good environment, fast serving food. Staff are friendly.
nice location and food especially the nasi lemak
Good was great. Nice atmosphere. Will come again!

Good
I ordered nasi lemak and noodles, and the chicken in nasi lemak was really light and delicious. It's a flavor that everyone, regardless of age or age, will like. The noodle soup is amazing.
Recommended.
It is a very delicious restaurant. I have been missing its noodles and pho for a long time. I finally tried it when I came back. The environment and service are very good. I am very happy to have dinner here.
Excellent Spiced Chicken Rice
Nasi lemak chicken and chilli are nice!👍
Nasi lemak was good
The food is delicious! 👍👍
👍
I love the dry noodles. We call it konlou men where i come from. its not so oily and just nice with flavour. Its a bit on the pricy side but the view here right under the waterfall is soo calming. But the cashier totally ignored me when i told her i gave them a review and i dint get the coconut pudding. Sad.
Kopi so so only TBH, shredded chick hor fun is also not close to the Ipoh standard, a bit disappointed
