Reviews of Jin Jin Ban Mian 金金板面鱼片汤
Moved from Food Loft at 3014B Ubi Ave 1 to current place.
Their broth used in their 面粉过 is amazing.
My personal favourite is their 红枣鸡面线.
Each bowl is packed full of flavours.
A colleague jokingly asked why I like post natal food.
I let him tried a spoonful of the soup and he become a convert.
Service: Expect long queues and working staff packing large quantities before your turn during lunch time.
Atmosphere: The coffeeshop is packed but their staff will help you locate seats.
Newly re-opened with all new fixtures and air circulators. Asked for 150g of sliced fish (batang) and was charged $9.50, which is a fair price. After cooking, they yield ~30g protein (vs target 40g). Soup is rich and tasty though a bit salty.
Unlike many influencers who love using the word 'Hidden Gem', this stall really deserves that tag.
You won't find young wannabes coming all the way down because it's located amidst car workshops and not somewhere hip or fancy. Hence privy they are to the fact that this stall boasts a very delicious bowl of dry ban mian.
Usually I wouldn't trust stalls that serve up a multitude of dishes for my bowl of handmade noodles but in this case, the dry ban mian stands out.
Firstly when served, you'll be greeted with its fragrant scent of sesame oil. Not overbearing that it overwhelms the dish. Upon mixing, the generous amounts of minced meat rise to the top and the colours of the sauce blend together with the noodles. It's not dependent on using too much black sauce like other places so you know the taste is concocted with specificity.
Now the final step is to spoon up your ratio of noodle, minced meat and veg, slurp it up and get excited for the rest of the bowl ahead of you.
**p.s It gets crowded during lunch time because of the multitude of workshops and factories here. So come either before or after to get a table and avoid a queue.

Love the ee mian dish called 煲仔面. For those who love the rubbery noodle like me, this is quite a good rendition. The soup is also fragrant with a distinct taste of Chinese wine. Lady boss is very friendly... apparently many people love this dish of hers. Will look forward to trying others!
