Reviews of Puzzle Coffee
🟦 Came to Puzzle Coffee at Ion Mall a few times to have their coffee and to buy takeaways of their pastries.
🟨 The first time I had their Cafe Latte ( in the biscuit cup), the coffee was a tad too bitter. The croissant was delicious though. ☑️ A second time, I ask for more milk to be added to my Cafe Latte, and the staff was nice enough to oblige me.
🟨 Service wise = Staff were cheery, very nice and friendly. When I asked for a small paper cup of water to drink after coffee, they said okay:) Overall, it is nice cafe.
● I always have to pass by this Puzzle Coffee on my way to the TEL Thomson East Coast Line at Ion B1 level.
Don't like the matcha latte. No oomph, not creamy enough. Tongue felt furry after finishing it. Sgd6.5 for regular size. Don't like that there was plastic lid for dine in, so not environmentally friendly. Cashier was alright, ambience was good, everyone chilling and there was soft background pop music, aircon also not too cold. Stools were hard, not the most comfortable. Overall not a place I will come back to again.
I was searching for a filter coffee, Google Maps suggested. Nice place, only one selection for filter coffee- Peru and nice. The service certainly wasn’t the friendliest- she didn’t seem pleased I wanted a filter.
Comfortable seating and very convenient to the MRT.
Excellent cappuccino, Melbourne style topped with cocoa powder. The pear crumble was just alright, a bit too dense and hardly any pear inside.
Didn't see uncommon coffee when I ordered just few ice lattes from here. The latte was good. I should have ordered the selection from puzzler favorites or signature iced drink. Biscoff latte seemed good.
The banner was located at collection area. Should move it to ordering area.
Would try next time visit this place again ☕☕
Tucked in a corner of ION. Drinks were great! Would be given a 5 star if the pastry is a bit more warm and crispy. Nice quiet corner for a chat with friends or just to chill too.
I rated a 4 star for the coffee as the coffee was to my liking, the blend carries an arabica aroma and blends well in a large white signature blend. It was quite satisfying unfortunately the staff packed a Kaya toast for me not toasted. I asked to warm up the Kaya toast but nevertheless I don’t think it will taste good even warmed up. Overall, I think it is a good place if you want to grab a decent coffee to go.
They had something special on the menu so I decided to try that. It was magic, was told it’s the same amount of coffee with 3/4 milk, stronger than piccolo. Very strong, coffee was balanced. Exactly what I needed for a late afternoon caffeine fix.
Saw a few patrons having pastries, will try them next time.
They have limited seating area so do come prepared to wait or takeaway.
Finally tried Puzzle Coffee after hearing rave reviews from my friends!
☕️ White ($6) my friend loves the white here as it is very strong, non acidic and fragrant 👍🏻
☕️ Had the hot mocha ($6.50) myself and it was also pleasantly refreshing. The coffee is really fragrant albeit the chocolate taste is not as strong. As a non-coffee drinker myself, the mocha was surprisingly good.
Do note that there are limited seats available here!
One of the good coffee that you really shouldn’t miss it.
Latte is amazing, so does their pasties!
Iced Chocolate and Kaya croissants are must try!
Super easy to spot! Located near TEL exit!
😍 I was so intrigued by the edible cup (made of edible grains & oats) and their signature sesame latte that I gotta have them. 😋 Had my Sesame Latte served in soy (@happyhappysoyboy) - so delicious and creamy. The cold brew coffee was served chilled and refreshing - much needed caffeine fix!
Had Kaya Croissant and Pear Crumble. The pastries contain dairy. Kaya + Croissant pairing is pretty novel to me and surprisingly delicious and the pastries were crispy too. 🥐
Visited during late afternoon, most of the croissants were gone. Bought few leftovers, not bad though nothing to shout about.
Coffee was okay as well. Corteous attending staff.

Matcha served in edible biscuit cups 🍵🥹
Have you tried this famous Melbourne cafe? With its first international location in Singapore, Puzzle Coffee is best known for its edible biscuit cups 🫶
We had…
🍵 Matcha Latte
🍠 Purple Sweet Potato Latte
🍐 Pear Crumble
🥐 Kaya Croissant
The socially responsible artisan coffee house commits to using only sustainable packaging which is why you will NEVER see plastics here 👀
For every 100 cups of coffee or bag of beans sold, they will donate a tree 🌎 BYO reusable cup and enjoy further discounts on your coffee ☕️
While I had better matcha and pastries elsewhere, they are after all famous for the Melbourne coffee beans roasted in-house 🫘 Coffee lovers, feel free to share what you think about their coffee!
Overall, a spot suitable for quick catch up in town ✨

Enjoyed their latte (which came in an edible cup!) Biscoff flavour was prominent while the purple sweet potato was more muted but good if you aren’t a sweet tooth. The Kaya croissant and pear crumble danish were flavourful and flaky, served warm too.
Nice Melbourne Coffee in Singapore.
Makes me feel like I'm back in Melbourne.
Kaya Croissant ($5) 🌟; 4.5/5 so gewd! Fragrant, buttery and not overly sweet
Hojicha Latte Regular ($6.50) + Edible Grain Cup ($3) 🌟; 3/5 Hojicha tasted ok, it was light and held very soft roasted notes. The edible cup made from oats and grains. It’s 100% vegan. But i dk why the edible cup tasted a bit like a cupboard box 🥲
highly recommended to try their coffee!! absolutely loved their MAGIC and MATCHA LATTE!! the edible cup was quite interesting and their pastries were pretty good! 100% would come back
👨🏻🍳 Staffs are quiet, I wouldn't say friendly cuz I don't feel it that way. They won't ask if you need a receipt, remember to request for one if you need it. Paper straws are provided for iced drinks, no takeaway bags for drinks (or is it cuz i never request for one?)
🤔 It's a good place for catching up with friends or anyone, but cannot really meet and play phones there as no free WiFi provided and my friend and my data network became really bad (tried playing ML). Tried their [non-coffee drinks] Purple Sweet Potato Latte (takeaway), Black Sesame Latte and Biscoff Latte (dine-in). They used OATSIDE milk so i support them.
🥤Taste: accordingly to the above mentioned drinks.
- 5/5 not very sweet, the taste of sweet potato will blend in well with the milk (you can request for less milk if you doesn't like but i guess portion will not be a full cup), would try the hot version if I'm nearby.
- 4/5 must stir before drinking, you can taste very heavy black sesame and milk, would not try again.
- 5/5 must stir before drinking, sweetness of Biscoff blend in well with the milk, would drink again if I'm nearby.
🤏🏻 Portion: their iced only have 1 size, totally not worth the price but i like the taste. They have an edible cup but looks even smaller than the regular size lol. All size are displayed at the cashier.
Overall: the drink taste really good (for me) but I'd takeaway instead of drinking there cuz of the network.
Nice place to chill with limited seatings. But the staffs aren't very happy working. No Café vibe service. Tried the edible cup finally (+$3). That's$9 a cup. It's ok to try but not with this service standard honestly.
See how my pear crumble is packed 🤷🏼♀️ embarrassing when i gave it to someone.
I didn't have high expectations but I didn't expect the Magic to be so weak. 😭
The prices are pretty steep ($6 for a white but understandable given that it's at Ion), +$3 for the edible cup.
Service was ok, normal. Few seats available, it's more for takeaway.
Should've flown the barista in from Melbs :')
If you're interested, enter by TEL exit 9.
Was excited to try the edible cup then saw someone posted saying it tastes like cardboard so I had to lower my expectations and try it myself only to find out that whoever said that is true… tbf, it’s better if you let the coffee soak the oat cup first at least it tastes slightly better.
Also why do the staff look so dead 💀 this other lady wanted serviettes but it took her to say “excuse me?” three times for aNY staff to hear her and her tone wasn’t even that soft. Come on man… there are literally other two guys dk do what…
Okay la the sitting area quite cozy and picturesque for ur IG post
TLDR; vibes not uwu 👉👈
service was quick, dirty matcha was super creamy and flavorful. if your not a matcha lover id recommend the strawberry matcha cause it's pretty mild and yummy. lovely, came two days in a row :)
New coffee place in ION from Melbourne. Tried them twice decent but had better. Also the seats not comfortable to sit and chill but if you like aussie style coffee maybe good for takeaways
Ice flat white SGD 7.5, a bit pricey but taste was good. They also selling pastry. No cash, only nets, mastercard and visa. Location in B1 near nespreso
If anyone’s wondering, the edible cup tastes like weet-bix (i.e. bland wheat flakes) and I suspect it’s not up most people’s alley. So opt for it only if you’re okay with paying more for a more environmentally friendly option, and not with the intention to consume it 😂
Also, the cup was also able to hold up pretty long, and did not soften in any way for the 2 hours that I spent drinking my coffee.
Anyway, I enjoyed the mocha here, which had pretty distinct dark chocolate notes.
We like the coffee here, no too acidic and nutty. Also continently located outside the TEL.
The drinks are delicious from what I've tried, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the aesthetic of the furnishings really relate with the sustainability aspect of the cafe. 10/10!
Coffee from Melbourne. Open week of 22nd November 2022.
Smells good, menu looks good... Just missing a flat white for an Aussie coffee place
Good experience for me, very sustainable and unique !
love the magic coffee. always drink when i am at the area.
hidden spot in ion while waiting other shopping lah.. coffeetaste great like australian flat white standard
Excellent cold brew and general coffee fragrance when you get to this walk by coffee place just outside Orchard MRT.
Chanced upon this nifty melbourne coffee place tucked in a corner, the coffee was great and the pastries look varied and interesting. Try it out!
Nice place to take a break after shopping. Coffee somehow is intense, but overall good. Must try 🥐 croissant!!!!
So conveniently located right outside TEL line Orchard exit (walking into Ion). Fragrant drinks
Interesting concept with edible cup which actually tastes quite good - a mix of grain and wafer
Purple sweet potato taste great.
Limited seat and it takes a while to get a seat during the weekend.
The coffee is aromatic and the matcha is rich. Would definitely recommend.
Review for coffee only as I didn’t try the pastries (they looked good though!)
Wonderful cup of cortado , saved me from a 2-week coffee depravation.
Bonus for the staff who dealt very professionally with a strange question from a man , asking ‘how strong their coffee is’.
Great coffee but for whatever reasons, atrocious and disingenuous service. They can definitely take a leaf from % Arabica.
Was just waiting in line and wasn’t sure if the customer before me is done with her order. Instead of assuring me that it’s my turn, the lady cashier just stared straight at me. We exchanged looks for like 5 seconds and I ended up taking the initiative to clarify with her if it’s my turn.
Oh….and for the price they’re charging, they do not have any carrier for takeaways. That said, their dirty matcha sure is delish though. A pity.
A healthy and interesting way to drink and eat your coffee cup made with healthy grains and oats. I enjoyed their unique signature blend of magic coffee with croissant. So fragrant & delicious. Nice cafe ambience with great service.
I recently visited a coffee store in Singapore called "Puzzle Coffee" and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. As someone who works in the coffee industry in Australia, I have high standards when it comes to my caffeine fix, and Puzzle did not disappoint.
From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and were more than happy to chat with me about the various coffee options on offer. The store itself was clean and well-designed, with a range of seating options to suit different needs.
But of course, the most important factor for any coffee store is the quality of the brew itself. And I have to say, the coffee at Puzzle was top-notch. The beans were fresh and carefully roasted, resulting in a rich and full-bodied flavor. I particularly enjoyed the house blend, which had a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.
All in all, I would highly recommend Puzzle to any coffee lover visiting Singapore. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a must-visit spot for a top-quality cup of joe. Keep up the great work, Puzzle Coffee!
Great coffee and strawberry matcha! Always back for it!
Great Melbourne coffee. Wish they had more seats.
For 10% off anyone should give a review, fine coffee
Here I thought we have a coffee savior in orchard but no.. coffee is so-so, ok at best. Ah well.
Had the large latte. No latte art, milk was heated until it was too hot, cup was so hot i could barely hold it. At first smell there was potential in the coffee but on tasting it fell abit flat. Not sure if the overly hot milk killed the aromatics in the coffee. Felt that the brewing could have been done better given that the beans used were probably of pretty good quality. Coffee def better then chains like starbucks but if you know your stuff you’d know many places that offer better coffees locally.
Agree with most reviewers here, please fly in the baristas along with the coffee beans 😂 or hire good baristas locally, there are definitely those around…they just work at other local coffee roasters…😅
Also, music was way too loud, hard to focus on reading or have a conversation.
Cozy and should order biscotti latte.
You can bite / chew the cup
I like their flat white coffee, really my type of coffee
Always love the kaya croissant - the best!
Nice dirty matcha!
Good coffee around the Orchard area. Very swift service, but the seating are terrible. Go for takeouts only.
We had a cold brew and a regular filter coffee and enjoyed it a lot! Our only wish - that we bought more cold brew:)
Ordered the biscoff latte and it was mehhhh. The milk not steamed enough. Perhaps it would have tasted better with a shot of espresso.
Amazing coffee and great services from the friendly staffs here
extremely high quality and reasonably priced coffee
nice environment and coffee is nice
Nothing exceptional about the coffee. Not worth the price $8.50 for iced latte with oat milk
Wide selection of coffee and service was fast!
Quite worth it. Just grab one before you go shopping !
Purple sweet potato latte is good. There is limited seating space.
Def one of the better coffee around town!
Love the coffee here
Good coffee, pleasant ambience
small and limited seats like a kindergarten
Great coffee
Coffee was made too hot and the beans felt a little burnt.
Service: terrible! Both staff looked like someone forced them to come to work. It was so depressing to have coffee made by such gloomy staff.
Good coffee from Melbourne, friendly service and delicious drinks
Finally found a specialty coffee shop. I’m really not used to drinking Nanyang coffee. The service is very good and friendly. All speak Chinese. Support scan code payment.
