Reviews of St. Marc Bakery & Bar
Cozy restaurant to have a decent western with Japanese fusion cuisine. Love the ocean view. We had the portobello wagyu burger and grilled chicken. Both are good and prices are acceptable. Service staff is friendly and helpful. As it’s pet friendly, we get to admire lots of cute puppies and dogs.
Was rather disappointed with my recent experience in St. Marc.
The Ambiance was good, with comfortable chairs. Good outdoor and indoor Area.
But they did not have their Signature Moochi pasta available, and the food servings were somewhat mediocal for the prices.
The Ceasars salad with Grilled Chicken was Ok, but their Fish and Chips was very disappointing. Definitely not something I would look forward to order.
All in all, the experience was mediocal, and not a restaurant I would be patronise unless its the only one open.
Bakery & Bar. St. Marc (@bakeryandbarstmarc) located @parkland _green in ECP is a popular Japanese cafe originated from Tokyo, and serves Japanese fusion desserts, breads/pastries, pastas, burgers and drinks.
We enjoyed having their Veg platter which includes onion rings, mini samosa and spring roll.
My all time favourite yummy Veg gyoza. Vegetarian agilo olio sauted with wild mushrooms and broccoli. Refreshing salted and shaken caramel and All you love is chocolate milkshakes.
The place is fully packed during weekends, though it is a pleasant place to hangout with family and friends near to the seaside. The cafe provide us friendly service, a vibrant atmosphere and yummy food. The seating is comfortable and well spaced.
We usually come for breakfast but on 5th Nov, we came for dinner without any reservation. All tables were booked for the pet friendly area. While we are discussing where to eat and maybe just drive off to other nearby pet friendly cafe, the staff helped to setup a table for 2. This is because there's a big group and tables were put together making a space for us. We appreciated it so much, you made our life easier :). Uncle serving loves dog so much and our furboy received lots of petting. Food was interestingly nicely done, taste great too. Dessert was awesome as well.
was excited to try st marc's cafe after their other outlets in singapore closed down. however, i was a bit disappointed.
ordered the mentaiko fries, but the fries were too thin for my liking. the mentaiko sauce was also not mixed properly - they simply put mentaiko over mayo. there was also not enough sauce for all the fries.
however, i came here to indulge in the fujis because i thoroughly remember enjoying them in their former raffles city outlet as well as in japan, however, the croissant was a bit hard, which felt like it wasn't fresh. the ice-cream was decent, but nothing special.
i also ordered 2 chocoros through their virtual ordering system, but they only served me 1, so i had to show them the online receipt. the crossiants were also hard and not very warm. it was decent for $2.60, but could be significantly better.
it's a decent cafe to come to, with normal food and service but nothing extraordinary. but, it doesn't taste as good as i remembered it to be, back when they had outlets in the city.
Went there for desert on a Friday night and to our surprise its literally deserted with zero crowd.
Orders the ice cream desert and it's pretty tasty.
the place also is pretty cosy with good ambience.
Staff are friendly too.
Overall a pretty good experience.
Edit 17/05/21
Went there for a second time to have our dinner this time round. Manged to get a seat on a Saturday evening.
Found that the desert menu was very lacking with the fuji series of deserts was not available. maybe weekends they don't serve those deserts due to crowd.
We ordered the grilled chicken set, carbonara and strawberry parfait. The food quality was pretty excellent.
However what marred our experience there was that my Girlfriend was bitten by insects at the table where we were seated. We left quickly after finishing out desert.
I only ever came here for the chococro (chocolate croissants), but I never tried their mains before. I had little expectations so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I enjoyed the wagyu burger, the nachos (they were warm, crispy and thin so they melted in your mouth), as well as the waffles. Definitely a good choice to relax, grab a quick bite and chat with friends. It's also a nice place to bring kids as they have a corner with books, toys and the kitchen set for them to play with.
Went here last weekend. It was my second. My first visit was last year same month. Place is great. This is a nice place to have something cold called after walking at the park. The banana split is good. I just don't like the dinosaur drink. It's not good. The winner for me was the croissant we had for takeaway. Will definitely buy some next time. Also I would like to comment on their ordering system. Hope they can improve it. We dined with friends and ordered separately. We cannot track our orders once we closed the app. And i ordered the banana split and drink at the same time, but only the banana split was pushed through. But tasting the dinosaur drink, i regret that i followed it up. But overall it's a great place. I'll definitely go back.
Update:
And we're back! So my husband got a takeaway
Last week when he went out to cycle. He bought a croissant coz I really liked it.
Then Friday, we dined in again for a dessert. It was good :) changing my rating to 5 star coz i liked the dessert
Very cosy place with really good food. Can get busy during lunch and dinner service. Prior reservations recommended. Signature wagyu burger is a must try here. Moist tender wagyu beef patty. Juicy with every bite. Like their really thin shoe string fries. Truffle fries is also a must order. The fragrance of the truffle oil costs the fries evenly giving it an aroma before you take a bite. Signature Fuji series desserts are also good especially after a hot day in East Coast Park. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. Some staffs are friendly while some aren’t. Hope they improve in this area.
Went here on a Sunday for lunch with my family. The place looked nice and clean, not very crowded. We weren’t served water upon seating but never mind that.
Ordered the grilled chicken which turned out to be too salty for me, the sauce that came with was questionable, sides weren’t seasoned. Karaage and miso soup were subpar. Truffle fries, chicken waffles and chicken burger was good. Service wasn’t excellent.
3 stars for over all experience. Would rate 5 just for the dessert. The banana caramel and triple chocolate is a must try.
I like this place. It is cosy and has a green environment. The staff were courteous and helpful. The food was good, the spaghetti tomato source was great! Fish and Chip was above my expectation. After we finish our main course, we were sitting there enjoying our time, the Chef surprised us with a desert! Definitely will come back.
Had a wonderful dinner with my family of 3 seated separately due to the 2 pax limits restrictions. Good service. Fish and chips, chicken wings split into 2 portions and soup and udon. All good! Warrants a return again. Picture of chicken wings are only half portion. Full portion is 8 wings. Well known for desserts and pastries which looks good but I am resisted due to low carb diet. 😂
Great Ambience. Tables well spaced out. Service discrete but good plus. Friendly amiable big boss!
Mini library available to keep the kids busy!
Food really good. Try the mixed veg platter, chicken wasabi, mushroom soup.
Had a quick brunch here before going on an outing with the pup. Service was fast and we were lucky to snag a spot outside quickly. Good views of the ocean and wide green field. Dog friendly - you just need to sit outside. There were many other doggos with us outside as well. We had a fried chicken waffle and it was great - fresh and hot and crispy. Nice spot for a meal during a day out with your doggo at ecp!
I looooove this cafe. This has been my favorite. It is cozy with good couch and comfy seat, the interior is a mixture of wood and orange which feels very warm. I always order their chicken karage teriyaki bowl, mochi pasta and wagyu burger!
Very good japanese western cafe at parkland green. The outdoor seating is dog friendly.
There is great waffle ice cream and drinks options too. Overall a good place to chill during weekends by the park.
Probably the most underrated cafe in the area. Big spacious cafe serving great food and drinks. Nice ambiance with a kids corner. Near the sea and next to a field. Easy parking and toilet access.
Especially loves their cocoroll (small croissant with fillings), milk shakes , sandwiches and burgers. Open till late on weekend.
Highly recommend to chill here with your partner or small gathering with friends.
A friend proposed meeting at East Coast Parkway for a chat over a bite. I came with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the Bakery & Bar St. Marc (hope I wrote that right).
Ambiance was good, they had their Christmas theme up already and I felt the music was just right. I ordered the St. Marc Wagyu Burger which was juicy and delicious paired together with a Corona and the sight of the sun slowly setting. Definitely one of the best ways to spend an evening in Singapore!
Went cycling early in the morning and came here for breakfast at around 9 am plus. Like the quietness (not crowded), brunch food price is normal. Ordered toasties set (oops! Forgotten to take photo. Too tired I guess. 😜) which the toast is very thin and tough to bite. Don’t like the cappuccino either which is subjective from person to person though.
Ordered the grilled chicken, squid ink mochi pasta and mentaiko fries. Food was delicious and service was good too!!! Enjoyed the outdoor seating view ~
I absolutely love everything here. The food is soooo good, the service is awesome & the atmosphere of Sunday family crowd is nice too.. their triple choc crotoast is to die for, worth every cent & every calorie. It is like After You meets some yummy crossiant with rich chocolate gelato. I really love this place, hope they open more outlets!!
A nice cozy cafe with great atmosphere. Entrees are good but nothing really extravagant/special, nice mix of Asian and western dishes available. Desserts are definitely the main highlight, the ones that came with the set meal are very good, the ice cream goes very well with the pastry/coffee. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating.
Bad points are that price is slightly expensive overall and service time is a bit slow for dessert, but overall, it's still good for the occasional treat, especially with the view outside.
Came for lunch on Monday. Family of 4 - 2 adults, a teenager and a toddler. Food portion is very generous. We had 2 set meal - chicken steak and fish & chips, came with ice lemon tea and affogato. I did not use the espresso for the affogato, the vanilla soft serve is still very tasty. I ordered the triple raspberries crotoast. The crotoast needed 15mins waiting time, but worth the wait. Love the lovely toast. Gave the raspberries and gelato to my teenager, I find it too sourish.
I have been her a few times and will always order the matcha tea latte, it's so good. I have ordered pasta before it was nice, this time I decided to go with dessert and got affogato. Ice cream is too sweet for me but it blend nicely with the espresso. I come here in the evening after stroll at east coast park, it is a pleasant place to chill and relax. The service I experienced the few times I was here has been delightful, like I was served plain water when seated and if I need help with the menu the staff will explain to me clearly. Price is quite reasonable for cafe in my opinion.
Very helpful staff and seating arrangement are spacious enough. I like the speciality Hot Chai tea with soya milk and the little choco croissants as tea break snacks ;) Will be back again to try the meals.
A very basic big breakfast. Dissapointing. Scrambled eggs were dry. Good coffee. The desert menu looked better. Ambience is great. Will not come for breakfast again.
The food is not great. Ordered the breaded chicken and fish but they are very bland. There’s not really much fish or chicken but lots of fat/ skin layer and the top part is the breaded flour. My kids, whom usually love fish and chips and crispy chicken didn’t really love them too. Their dessert is better. They are dog friendly though.
Used to eat their fuji dessert at marina square, came here with high hopes for the dessert but was pretty disappointed with it.
Our table ordered 5 fujis but they only had 3 available. I think it was a blessing in disguise because the pastry for the 3 fujis we had was dense and tough, not crispy and fluffy like I remembered.
After giving feedback, the staff said it was the doughs issue. And they are changing it (soon?).
The burgers are on the small side for the price. The tori karaage was the most value for money for the cafe. Their soft serve is still very nice so the parfaits were good too. But I would suggest to avoid their baked good until they solve this dough issue.
Love the atmosphere here though.
3rd visit. Items not available. Eggs Benedict and Chai Latte. No more eggs at 11am. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Our 2nd time bringing friends over. Crotoast and wagyu burger gets me tummy happy.
I enjoy eating dinner at St. Marc on weekdays as it is more peaceful.
One of the staff was a very cheery man who went around ensuring everyone had an enjoyable dining experience. The affogato was rich and no doubt delicious.
I had some wings among other stuff today. Seasoning was great on the outside but bland on the inside. My suspicion is that the chicken wasn't fresh because right after that it unsettled my stomach. This is my first time getting upset over their food (quite literally).
While there are a number of items that I feel are not worth paying for (like the wings), I think there's stuff on the menu that are still great. Still love their pastas, it's the only reason why I come back, along with the fact that it's located near the beach.
I think many might guess that the standard of this outlet is dropping rapidly from the other reviews. But I hope this place can make a comeback.
Love the food from here and they have really good desserts too. Cozy vibes and wonderful service (esp the friendly uncle) .. Will definitely be back!
Great food, great service, big portion and super reasonable price.
We had a very enjoyable experience here for the second time this week. We came here for my husband's birthday. The Staff and Manager were very friendly. What we enjoyed the most was that our Doggy was welcomed by the Manager and staff. The spaghetti and fish and chips were very good. The Wagyu burger, though, can be improved a bit. On the whole, a very enjoyable evening.
Stopped here for a casual dinner after done exercise at ECP on the Valentine's Day on 14th Feb 2019! My first time dine-in the cafe even-though I always come ECP for my workout for the past few years. The food was not served after ordered for more than 30 minutes even though the cafe wasn't in full-house mode. I started to feel unhappy and skeptical on the cafe's service. However, it comes to my surprise when a lady approached us and apologized to us for the slow service due to lack of manpower in the last minute. She explained to us that her kitchen had only one chef on duty because the other chef can't make it in last minute. She had come to my table few times to ensure us that our orders were captured and will be served as soon as possible. Unexpectedly, the lady-boss had served us their signature dessert - '' Little Fuji '' as our meal complementary dessert. She was worried that we were too hungry as it was getting late and we didn't order any other appetizer/dessert. I was very impressed with her caring and motherly attention on her customers. She had came over to make an apology again when we left the cafe after we done our dinner although she was busy serving other customers. Her friendliness and amiable service make us feel very warm and comfortable. The food was tasty and served hot. It was a pleasant experience and definitely will visit the cafe again on next time.
Lots of customers, nice place overlooking East Coast park. Staff usually busy & served iced water upon seating. Food were pretty and delicious too. However ordering need improvements: App was painfully slow, very sensitive and only means of ordering anything. App did not show all the stuff on the printed menu too. No hot tea by the pot eg. hope feedback can be taken if visiting again
Food:
(-) Meals, snacks and coffee are all average. Even the signature Choco Cro is neither flaky nor fragrant.
Price:
(-) More expensive than food of similar quality you can get elsewhere.
Service:
(-) Cold. Slow even when the cafe is empty.
Ambience:
(+) Spacious and comfortable seats. Quiet environment, overlooking an open field.
Good place to replace all lost calories from exercise 😅 Great tasting desserts and drinks. Very friendly staff.
Friendly staff, good desserts. Both outdoor and indoor seating available.
Great service and a very pleasant experience.
Fish and chips for the main course which was awesome.... Strawberry waffle for dessert... strawberries weren't ripe enough. That's the only thing .
Will definitely make the drive back there for another meal .
Prices on the high side but Nara(Ice cream) is nice.
Service is fast and the crew is friendly. Prices are reasonable. Chococoro and croissant are our recommendation. Just one comment, the vegan/vegetarian options are limited, maybe would be good to add sandwich and breakfast options in that aspect.
The Signature Japanese Mochi Pasta is super nice!! The texture is slightly different from traditional pasta but it's more bouncy and chewy like mochi! It is also pet friendly and the manager Sebastian also loves dogs (:
Nice place to chill and have a drink. The food is okay, not great.
Food Not bad and not many seats
out door for pets
If you want to have a sunshine morning breaky or a warm afternoon tea, this is the best place I would recommend. The people here are nice and warm. The food are delicious with great variety. Quiet atmosphere to meet up with BFF and chat over a cup of coffee.
Great place for a quiet dinner with dessert.
Nice place to chill after we brought our dog to dog run.
Nice food, abit pricey for the location, chococro was pricey
nice food and cosy
A bit costly, but the food and environment are nice.
Service is slow. Desserts and chocolate crossaints are to die for.
nice place for desserts!
Great place and kids friendly.
Good
Good service
A cafe located along the coast of East Coast Park. There is also terrace seating, which is very comfortable.
There are plenty of desserts so you won't get bored. Although the number of customers is small and it seems busy, they do their best to serve customers.
Chocolate with the same taste as Japan🥐
It tasted nostalgic. I'm glad that the menu has a wide variety 😃 There are many menu items that children will like. The interior of the store is clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. It's just a little cold.
There are also tables outside, so if you don't like the cold, we recommend going outside.
The service from the staff was also good.
Insufficient manpower affects service quality. But the flaws are not outweighed, the food is very good and the wine is delicious.
Restaurants on the east coast of Singapore have a good atmosphere, are not expensive, and the taste is not too bad~
It was so hot, but there were no seats at Starbucks, so I went. Perhaps because I went at an odd time, there weren't many people and I had a refreshing parfait and a drink. It was very convenient and nice to order using a tablet. The taste is ordinary. I recommend it because it is located near the beach and has a good atmosphere.
I was able to get the same quality chocolate in Singapore as in Japan.
The staff were also very friendly and served the customers very politely, which made me feel comfortable.
The food and drink was good and I'm full.
Great atmosphere overlooking the sea.
I hope that Free Wifi will be available in the future.
