I have been here twice because I admire the artistic direction, effort and sincerity behind this self-run shop. The owners radiate warmth. I love the spatial design: patchwork of specialty coffee bean labels on the pillar, hanging dried leaves, warm light, artwork by the owners. The individual wooden tables and chairs are charming as well and my biggest weakness is the engraved round table outside. That's my favourite table and I spent a nice hour sketching.
The variety and novelty of the bakes offered are surprising. The first time I tried hojicha longan and was dissatisfied because I found the sponge cake too dry and lacking the aroma of hojicha. The second time around, I tried chocolate banana lime and it was good. The chocolate sponge is moist and dense and together with the bananas they were a surprising combination with the lime buttercream. It seems like their bakes have a consistently thin layer of cream. I think the balance is quite delicate but perhaps some bakes can benefit from more cream. The piccolo with their seasonal Ethiopia beans was AMAZING with a unique fragrance.
I will be back to try their black sesame bakes.
Service was notably good. They’d waited for me to return from the washroom before serving my my coffee to ensure that it came fresh. Cakes are a must order here. They are sweet and delicate and are one of the nicest I’ve had across cafes. The coffees and teas are just average, but they do pair very well with the cakes. If you come here and do not purchase at least a cake/tart/loaf/dessert to pair with your drink—you’d be missing out. The main gripe is the space constraints. It’s not exactly the most comfortable chill spot with the kind of seats they’ve got going on—and tables are limited. Try to go during off peak hours for the best experience.
Always a delight to be in this space! Been coming here every few months since they first opened, and always trying new flavors! Safe to say, every flavor of their cakes and coffees is always beautifully crafted!
Not forgetting the sticky date pudding, absolutely loved it!! Thank you HY & Jon for such a lovely space!
Great small coffee place in Everton. Operated by the two wonderful owners, they serve great coffee and homemade cakes and bakes. Can highly recommend the chocolate pistachio cake / tart
Walked past the shop another day and it was full (only 4 pax seating indoor). Today I saw there were another two more tables outside the shop. It is considered good business on a weekday afternoon. Some customers have to take away due to a lack of seating area. I love the clean and simple decoration in the shop.
The surprise and highlight is the variety of bakes they have. Fresh bakes with good coffee. The duo is a couple who started their business online and took a step further to having a shop space. I definitely agree they make good partners in this business.
A cake that's a feast for the eyes and the taste buds! Perfect with a cup of coffee. But beware, the seating is a bit tight, so grab your slice and go! 🏃♀️
My friend and I came here to try their cakes although there isn’t much seats available it was full inside so we sat outside we enjoyed their cakes it was soft, not very sweet, not rich, the cake is also very light and have just the right almond of frosting.
My friend shoe sole came off so I went back to the store to ask if they had any rubber bands and the owners of the store a couple were so kind to find some for me. They were very nice and friendly will definitely come again.
came here to grab a coffee but couldn't resist grabbing a cake as well, especially after knowing that the cakes are baked in small quantities in house. the cake is so pretty! and the latte is good too. cdc vouchers are welcome.
Small establishment operated by 2 friendly staff. Satisfying americano & cuppacino, go well with special sweet & sour raspberry cake. Cozy ambient but cooler will be better.
Chance upon this small petite cafe serving small selection of artisan cakes and coffee/tea. The latte and salted caramel cake ordered is so good! 😋 I enjoyed the cosy corner setup too! 👍🎂🍰☕🌹❤
My go-to cake place in SG 🥰 most of all, all cakes look so beautiful, delicately decorated. Tastes are also good!!(little sweet side for me but okay with coffee) The selection of cake is quite unique in SG and love their small shop as well. It’s like my small secret place that I only want to share with good friends ☺️
Cozy cafe at Everton Park ☕️🍰🏡 Tried their coffee- an iced black is $5.30. Their cakes looked great but was too full to stuff more food in. Will try next time! Their pastries look really cute.
An easily missed shop front .... glad to finally, finally, finally popped in while wandering after lunch.
Love the china tea serving sets, just puts you in a relaxing mood immediately.
For dine in, tried the gula melaka cake and the carrot walnut cake, both yum yum.
Liked so much, packed the carrot walnut and honey kinako as well.
Each bite of the honey kinako cake releases a burst of floral sensation followed by great flavour combination of matcha and kinako ... so so good.
Need to go back to try their different cake offerings .... the orange passionfruit cake, got to try ....
Really nice and quaint cafe nook at Everton park. My partner and I got a coconut passionfruit cake, an iced mint chocolate and a yuzu kukicha tea — all of which we highly recommend! The owners’ bakes are on daily rotation but they all look really delicious on display ☺️ Be prepared to wait for a seat though as they only have four tables!
The place opens at 10am and if you want to have the best selections, got to be there early. Even if they help to limit to 2 pieces per customer per flavour (really, you are not allowed to buy the whole cake), there are only 8 pieces of each. Quite exclusive. The coffee is good. If you want to order a cake, remember to place orders a few days in advance. They do not entertain last minute orders or requests. "Fairness" / "First come first served" are policies they observe strictly. I personally appreciate this way of running business. Besides, we all understand the meaning of "good things must wait", right?
Cozy spot nestled within HDB blocks serving a selection of tea cakes and layer cakes. Loved how incredibly moist and fluffy the cakes were here - especially enjoyed the tiramisu one. Tad disappointed with the seating options as the indoor seats were full and had to sit at an outdoor table along HDB void deck. However, would return to try other cakes!
I had Gula melaka avocado cake, it tasted special and the density of the cake was my preference.
Really lovely place, all cakes are handmade locally and are creative and subtle; not over sweet. Coffee is great too, they have a proper machine. And it’s cozy above all. Little hidden gem that deserves much more credit than many other catchy cafes.
Small and cozy place, was lucky to get a seat on sat morning. Loved the sticky date pudding and mint mocha!
Came here for coffee and some quiet time with wife. Coffee was good and while the cafe itself was small, we managed to get seats near the wall and read some books. Nice place and hope to cone again. They also sell some cakes but choices were limited.
Super moist cakes! Tried the Earl grey lavender and I think it could do with a little less sugar, but overall perfect pairing with tea :-)
I came to this shop near closing time and i tried this earl grey lavender cake. So good and refreshing! Would love to come back to taste other cakes, but honestly the space too cramp to sit around
Stumbled upon this unassuming cafe while walking around the area and picked up a slice of their chocolate cake & rose raspberry cake to go. Flavors were well balanced and just the right level of sweetness. The two owners were very friendly as well. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the neighborhood.
A cute coffee and cake shop located in everton park. Love how the owners have made best use of the small place. The cakes are fresh and flavourful without being overly sweet, and they keep rotating the flavours, perfect 10/10.
My sis & I found this cosy place as we were passing by. It was warm and inviting and love the layout & décor. We sat by the window with small plants on the wood tabletop and had tea in lovely English teacups. Had a to-die-for carrot walnut cake - fresh, moist, not overly sweet. It was just right. Sometimes a place just resonates with yourself. I will definitely come again to capture the sense of tranquility and spend a pocket of time for myself to sit & breathe.
Pamper yourself for an afternoon snack and chill! Cakes are perfectly sized for individual indulgence or for sharing. We found this gem of a place by chance and glad we did. Might drop by next time to dine in, but the place is a little small so come prepared that you might have to wait.
the aesthetics of this cafe is 👌🏻love how it is situated under a block in a residential area, and the setting of the shop - decorated with dried flowers and warm lightings. staff on shift were really chirpy and friendly!! never tried them for myself but got a box with 4 different pastries for my friend - she claimed that the salted caramel one tasted best (cant exactly remember the name of it sorry)
Cakes (and the shop)are really cute and small. Overall a bit too sweet for me but it goes well with coffee.
Love the place! The ice chocolate latte is delicious, as well as the hojicha strawberry cake! Service is really nice as well :)) would recommend 10/10
Great cozy corner for a good coffee and cakes ! Love the ambience and service by the couple.
Small and cosy cafe with yummy cakes! Would recommend the vanilla salted caramel and banana butterscotch 👍🏼
I love Everton Park cafés… this is definitely one of the best!
LOVE going to cafes and dedicating my first google review to the better half🫶 their earl grey lavender cake is super good! not too sweet, the earl grey and lavender doesn't overpower each other too~~
Tried their iced latte as well, pretty good. It paired pretty well with the cake as well.
Will probably be one of the few cafes i will visit again☺️
Consistent with their coffee, love to go back whenever I am around
I’m a cake lover all my life and my Betterhalf bakes the best cakes ever in singapore . Not only that , the owners are really humble, honest, genuine. It’s reflected in their cakes … can totally feel they just want to bake good cakes and open a quaint little sanctuary for people to enjoy. I hope you always enjoy what you
Are doing and your cakes always bring joy to me . Thank you
Really cute space with delicious cakes. Staff were really friendly and polite too! 🙂
Cake variation is plentiful and very pretty.
I tried the lavender cake however I felt that the lavender flower decoration actually made the cake eating experience quite weird (due to its texture). I would suggest to ask the staff to remove the flowers before eating.
As for the coffee, it was average cafe standard.
Overall still a 4 Stars as the whole vibes and the standard of cake is still pretty good.
if there's a place you want to relax and unwind to with some good quality and aesthetic bakes, this is the place to go to! love the warm vibe especially when it was pouring.
One of the best hidden gems in the cake scene in SG. The selection of cakes changes often (but it's always yummy) and the cuppa is more than decent. It's run but a young hardworking couple who are really friendly.
Super cute place - seating is very small though, so go at off-peak times if you like to sit indoors. Wonderful cakes with a menu that changes regularly, and nice drinks too!
The Pistachio & Lemon cake was so delicious. I wish I took better photos like the rest of the reviewers. The seating arrangement is a bit tricky, so I wouldn't recommend coming here expecting to have a seat for a long time. I'm definitely going back on Friday for the coconut and passionfruit cake
Love the cakes Nice cosy place to spend the weekend afternoon
Earl grey cake was good though denser than I liked.
Loved this place, cute little bakery tucked in an HDB flat. Ordered the Earl grey lavander cake, and it was perfect to drink with my tea at home. The staff have great recommendations, and will be coming back to try other kinds. Yum!
Very good cake, great service, had to queue outside for awhile to get in.
Small but cosy place. Tried the camomile honey cake which they warmed up before serving, and it was yums! Would it be good if fans could be installed for the outdoor seats.
Very lovely couple. Cakes are awesome! Subtlety sweet n won’t jerlat 膩 (nì). Coffee is good too with diff milk options. Love all their cakes N cinnamon roll.
Great coffee and delicious bakes! Seating is limited though!
Wonderful little cafe with a wide selection of cakes. Super friendly owners. It looks popular although it is so tiny with only 4 tables. Reasonable pricing
I found the long black weak and the black forest Cake tested like a cupcake. Not quite my type. The only thing I liked were the cherries on the cake, they were like little liquor bombs. Nice.
Truly some of the best cakes and coffee I’ve had! The place was cute, cozy and the service was wonderful. Definitely coming back!
Super friendly and cozy and good
a beautifully designed, cosy space to spend an afternoon in, & loved the iced latte. it was a healing afternoon :)
Lovely cakes. Le petit cafe..
Aside from the small space, the cakes were incredibly delicious and service was great! I'm definitely going back for more!
Cakes are lovely, coffee's a nice compliment. Would definitely return for more cakes.
Loved it...super cute cozy cafe with amazing cakes!
Very small coffee place. Yet to try their pistachio cakes.
Really small but cosy cafe serving delicious baked goods.
Love every single thing about this place. Best bakery. Its a must visit.
Good place to relax. Decent cakes and coffee
Small home in a wall place. Interesting cake and good coffee.
Tiny place. The carrot cake is really good.
especially like the carrot cake and the passion fruit cake !
Pricy but decent
Nice coffee.
<Pros>
relax and cute space in tired HDB
affordable price cake
well balanced cake
friendly staff
<Cons>
limited table
A bit too sweet for Japanese tongue
Cut cakes and mini cakes cost around 6-8SGD
A cake shop on the first floor of a deserted HDB.
Everything from the interior to the cake is stylish.
It's a little sweet compared to Japanese cake shops, but
The sticky sweetness and refreshing dried fruits and nuts were light and delicious.
secret spot
randomly found this small cafe in my neighborhood. 👄
wut a special touch that they decorate their cakes by using flower ingredient on top.
In the mini coffee shop next to my home, the cakes are decorated with flowers and plants.
After taking a bite of the dessert, your taste buds are filled with a light floral aroma🌸🌼🌸🌹🌺
One of the coffees I had in Singapore
Personally, it was the most delicious!!!
The taste and atmosphere are Yeonnam/Mangwon itself :)
The way to get there is difficult, so you get lost and can't find it.
You may think it is closed, but it is operating normally.
(Located on the first floor at the very end)
