Reviews of The Trend cafe-bistro
So heartened to see that a new meatless menu has been launched here, with many vegan options! (Allium-free customisation also possible.) In conjunction with Vesak Day, the cafe has a promo - 20% off the meatless items every Thu and Sun in May 2024! By some coincidence, I chanced upon this cafe while they were in the midst of curating their meatless menu last month, and the team was so welcoming in hearing my input on becoming even more vegan-friendly. I’m always appreciative of F&Bs that make such a sincere effort to cater to people with different dietary preferences~
The owner and his wife are passionate about making things from scratch with quality ingredients, even personally fermenting soybeans to make tempeh, and the cafe bakes their sourdough in-house too. There are lots of whole-food plant-based dishes in the menu, such as monkeyhead mushroom curry with sourdough slices, and pumpkin soup with sourdough slices - both of which I would highly recommend! In addition, plant-based alternatives are available, such as Omni Foods Plant-Based Beef, herbYvore Foods Cheese for their salads / burgers / pizzas, Oatside Oat Milk for their great coffees, etc.
Cosy atmosphere with board games available. It’s also a finance-themed cafe by an investment institution, with adorable references to the bull and bear market throughout in the decor and dish names. They provide co-working / meeting spaces and conduct training workshops too. Conveniently located at Chinatown MRT Exit F!
really quaint and cosy cafe to do work! unfortunately we were a bit disappointed by the speed of service and for some reason the egg mayo croissant doesn't have any mayo in it? but overall nice vibes and i would come back again!
A cafe tucked in a quiet corner of Block 531 with a very relaxing atmosphere. The owners are very particular about the quality of their coffee beans, and their oat latte was creamy and the espresso shot had a bold and strong flavour with a woody fragrance that lingers after each sip. We had also gotten the olive with sundried tomatoes sourdough bread and made vegan cheese toast at home. The sourdough bread was very fragrant and delicious and it had the right balance of saltiness.
A warm and cozy cafe situated near Chinatown MRT. You could see the cafe right outside Exit F, on the second floor.
The cafe's interior is tastefully decorated, with a perfect balance of modern and rustic elements.
There were also a wide variety of dishes from the usual cafe fare to unique local twist on cafe bites (eg Otah Toast) that are so yummy! The sourdough pizzas had a generous share of ingredients. Their petite size makes it easy to share… and allowed us to try more flavours/types! 😍 We ordered pistachio croissant as well. Although it might not look like it, but you would be pleasantly surprised by the softness and crisp texture. There was also filled with loads of pistachio jam/paste goodness! The mushroom soup was thick but not too heavy, it was delicious! 😋
Iced Coffee was also great! The cafe also offers a wide selection of other beverages, including smoothies, milkshakes and fruit teas. We shared a strawberry shortcake for dessert and the cake was so soft and filled with real strawberry slices. The cream was light and it was very easy to eat!
If we could have stomach more, would have order more and tried their gelatos! 😍
This cafe has such a chill and cosy vibe! I enjoyed catching up with my friends at this place, enjoying iced lattes, fruit smoothies, and more importantly, their pastries! Tried the pistachio croissant and strawberry shortcake and both were amazing! We also tried the Hawaiian and BBQ chicken pizzas, and we liked the sourdough base and the toppings! The otah toast was really comforting and yummy, and will definitely come back to try the otah croissant that is also available on their menu! I can see myself coming back to this cafe, as the ambience is also perfect for working virtually and meeting up with friends or colleagues too! Will be back!
I ordered a blueberry shortcake with cream cheese whipped cream frosting birthday cake and how does it look! Anyway I love the cake, it taste really good! Not too sweet and still creamy. Approved by my little boy, very very fussy eater. If he wasn’t full after dinner, he say he would finish it. Hahaha. We all laughed.
Coffee was good, the croissants delicious. Service was very good. Nice place on 2nd floor right near the MRT.
Food and coffee are great! An ideal place to organise company event of 30-40 pax. There is also a room of 10 pax for team building session. Reasonable price too.
Located at level 2. It’s newly opened, a place that makes people feeling comfortable. I’ve ordered a takeaway flat white, it tastes good.
Not sure how long this cafe had been around but if I didn't raise my head and see the banner, I would have missed it.
First impression: cosy clean and new. Was looking for the items on the menu and was a bit confused. Besides the main menu, there are displays of set lunches, ice cream and coffee options on the walls (which I only saw after ordering and sitting down).
It was a quiet Sat morning when I was there. There's a mini business centre and an intimate meeting going on when I arrived. Kinda cosy and nice.
I ordered a set lunch and the soup and coffee arrived before my pasta. I thought the set was a bit on the pricey side but the portion is quite substantial.
The staff was quite efficient to serve the pasta as soon as I finished my mushroom soup (which had chunky bit of mushrooms nomnomnom). But since the coffee had been sitting there since the start of the meal, it was cold when I drank it. Might wanna ask the customer if they prefer to have the coffee served with or after the meal. Then again, maybe during peak hours in the week the staff could be overwhelmed.
Oh one last thing - the seats were bldy uncomfortable like my legs could hardly touch the floor lol. Ok my legs were too short I'll admit that.
BEST food ever. walking distance from my office. pls do not change anything! will be back to patronize.
Good ambience, chill atmosphere
Only issue is I had to wait 40 minutes for a croissant
Came here for the second time. I like the coffee here. The small and cozy cafe has good amount of plug points too for those who want to get some work done.
Overall a good experience.
Coffee is awesome. Specially like the flat white. The sourdough olive oil and vinegar is nice. The owner is very friendly and offer good advise. Especially like the private rooms in the back. Wonder if it's up for private event??
Love the fragrance of their coffee (I ordered latte) and to my pleasant surprise, it comes with double shot. Perfectly right up my alley! The kaya croissant I ordered is very unique and crispy. Kaya is not overly sweet, but just enough to taste the Pandan flavour. Highly Recommended!

Good quality of food, relaxing environment, cheerful hospitality and the key is worthy of money. Should try!!!
The mushroom sourdough pizza is my favorite. Their coffee and homemade kaya is also very good also. High quality food at very affordable price. Second time here. Will keep coming back again!
The servers are incredibly friendly, which makes up for the somewhat slow preparation of the food; however, considering it is their first week open, we chalk that up to it them having to iron out the process.
The food is tasty and as pleasantly presented as the cafe itself✨
We discovered this place today on our family visit to Singapore from the UK. We very much enjoyed the milkshakes, smoothies and coffee, in a relaxed environment to catch up with our Singapore based family. Will return again on our next visit!
the place was so calm and chill. they even have board games to play also!
Its a pretty comfy place. The prices are also ok for the food and service
The cafe is conveniently located next to the mrt station. We had their sourdough toast, croissant pistachio, mushroom soup and pizza. They were delicious.
Before the good food , I would like to compliment the honesty of the staff, I left my iPad there and they helped me to keep it until I called them back and return to me ! Excellent !
Great food and atmosphere! Ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and it came fresh from the oven. Not too chewy and just enough BBQ sauce.
Nice coffee! got recommended the pistachio croissant, and i like it too! Will surely visit again.
Had a lovely brunch , tuna toast and margherita pizza + nitro coffee.
