Reviews of Twin Star Dim Sum
Yummiest har gow, Siew mai, salty egg bun ever tasted in coffeeshop. Restaurant standard quality. Service is fast and good. Price is right for the quality.
Recommended in order:
Salted egg bun
Siew mai
Char Siew bao
Har Gow
Red chilli oil dumpling
Mushroom dumpling
Pork ribs
Fried Lao gan ma carrot cake
Glutinous rice
Pan fried pumpkin and yam cake
Despite many good review from various food bloggers I think I still want give my 2 cents because this place deserve my time.
I enjoyed the top restaurant grade dim sum at value! It offers variety and the items are wholesomely fresh and flavourable. Will certainly come back for items not available today (as I came on a Sunday near closing time)
Coffee shop dim sum made by chef who used to work at one of Singapore’s high end Hong Kong restaurant. For coffee shop dim sum, it is of very good standard and wide variety. Price is fairly reasonable too.
Nice restaurant quality dim sum. Recommend char siew pau, fried taro and taro pumpkin cake (unique item). Taro is crispy and smooth. However the yellow siew mai and black bean pork ribs tasted average only.
I recommend the steamed tim sum, I previously had the siew mai and it’s good and fresh.
Don’t quite like the deep fried taro as I found the outer crust too hard and the filling too runny.
The rice roll isn’t that fantastic as the layers isn’t there, seem sticky.
Do come early for more choices as most tends to sell out by noon especially on the weekends.
Have been seeing long que formed at this new Dim Sum Store at the Coffeeshop behind my church every Sunday
Yesterday finally went and try. Seriously very nice for Coffeeshop standard and probably the best dim sum in Yishun. Price wise around 3.50. Shall become my usual breakfast place in future
Very little pork in the pork century egg porridge. Deep fried taro dumplings were crispy but hard instead of fluffy. Overall above average but don’t expect restaurant standard.
This is a new dim sum stall at this old coffeeshop. Prices are average - this is the new normal nowadays because of inflation and 8% GST. As for the food taste, I find it quite ok. Some people might complain that the food tastes bland but I liked that not a lot of salt was used. I also did not have the usual thirsty feeling after eating food laced with MSG, so that is a big plus point for this establishment.
Fantastic dim sum of restaurant standard. Reasonable price and the 2 owners are very friendly. Highly recommend.. the char xiu bao n salted egg bao super good.
Food overall is good , downside is abit pricey for per item .
Still a good breakfast spot in neighbourhood
Ordered porridge, siew mai, char siew pao. Food is served piping hot. Delicious and appetizing.
This dim sum is located at Yishun Blk 732.
Continuous 2 days I have been eating their dim sum. Taste personally I like it. Not too over whelm that will cover the taste of other ingredients compare to others that I tried before. Ingredient is fresh too. All handmade products. Suits kids and old folks. (It’s so good that we clear all food that we had ordered. Lol)
Price is reasonable tho’ some old folks may find a bit costly since it’s in coffee shop.
Seems like family operation. Everyone in stall is very friendly and humble and always putting a smile to customers.
Thumbs up for this shop. If you are around the area looking for some snack, give it a try.
I hope they be staying long here so I can continue enjoy the good food. 👍.
Har kao - very fresh. Skin just nice, not overly thick type. Freshness of prawn is the best evidence. Any fresher, peel it yourself.
Siew Mai - meat also fresh. No frozen aftertaste unlike some other places.
Kopitiam recently renovated and reopened 1 Nov.
Queue move fast but if someone ordered for his/her family of 6-7 pax, good luck waiting.
2 sifu at stall, only limited baskets at time being. Once sold out, no more.
Quite a crowd on Sunday.
No takeaways on Sundays (think due to manpower limitations)

Far from the best that I've had. It's ok overall but really nothing to scream about. I may revisit if I happen to be nearby but not otherwise. It was a pity they did not have one of my favourite dishes when I visited, a dish the best of which I had was, of all places, in Geneva, Switzerland, where I lived.
Good choice for dim sum if you are ard the area! Most of the items are handmade, hence is very value for money.
Best dim sum dishes I ever had especially the char siew bun n the Sichuan hot n sour dumpling....
Our favorite dim sum place it’s affordable and delicious !!
Dim sum was good.Dont expect service and good atmosphere from a coffee shop. What you go for is the high standard of Dim sum.
Food is great..especially their steamed rice roll and custard bun
Highly recommend the Sichuan Hot Sour Dumplings, good balance in flavour.
Food is good and delicious
