Reviews of Ya Kun Family Cafe (Downtown East)
Alvin was really warm and friendly, to welcoming us, checking in with us on the food and biding us goodbye. Making it an enjoyable dinning experience for us! Food and drinks were yakun usual great standard! Would come back again!
Alvin is a star!
Ya Kun has always been our preferred choice of coffee and toast, comfort food.
GUEST TOUCH POINT-ORDER
We were at the E!Hub outlet at 1310hrs 28/9/2024. The Q was not very long, however the service was slow. Luckily, quality remains.
FOCUSED ENVIRONMENT -CLEANLINESS
There was a lady staff cleaning other tables except the table next to us that have an obvious coffee stain, we were not concerned about it. Maybe she didn't see it. However, in less than 5 mins, another male staff walk his round, saw the stain and cleaned it.
ENGAGEMENT WITH GUESTS
The male staff stayed and have a small chat. From asking how was our coffee to how often we come to this outlet.
STAY
He checked back on us at a later timing asking if we need any plain drinking water, FOC, we know is usually chargeable. We declined. However, he still proceed to serve us.
GENUINE FAREWELL
When we are about to leave, he invited us to come back to the store to give support.
Having visited some many Ya Kun outlets, I have NEVER met any staff like ALVIN!
Ya Kun is so lucky to have such polite, hardworking staff.
I will definitely share my experience with my friends to visit this outlet.
This place was recently renovated and atmosphere is nice.
Tried the tea and mee rebus. The tea was fine but not sure if they used the same tea leaves as before. The taste of the mee rebus gravy was great, noodles and tofu nicely cooked, the only problem was the roots of the beansprouts were not removed before cooking !! I recall lime was served for mee siam but not for mee rebus, interesting. The plating for the mee rebus had changed to bowls which is not the usual way of serving this dish. It is usually served with plates with a wider shallow depression. This makes it easier to eat with the fork and spoon.
This outlet serve the old times favourites eggs and bread cum tea coffee plus the modern add on like laksa, noodles and rice. Ok place to hve a bite
They have variety set that we can choose from. Located at convenient place. Great place to chill and enjoy coffee / tea. Professional and friendly service by staff. Expect crowded when weekend. Overall recommended!
Kopi C and Teh C ($2.20 each).
Good coffee and good tea. Made well. Ample sitting and the staff keep the place clean!
Super yummy. Soft and creamy durian kaya. Should try before the promotion is gone. Coffee is good too.
Limited seating area. Expect q during weekends & public holidays. My fav is steamed bun.
I love having my lunch / tea break at Downtown East Yakun. Especially have a great customer service provided by Ms Mei Fang & Mr. Han. They can remember what our usual order and provide the fantastic services. You won’t get this kind of superior service from other outlet. I love Yakun , @ Downtown East only. Nice tea, nice bread , nice people.
Probably my favourite ya kun outlet! Staff is friendly. They make really good Kopi here compared to other outlets i’ve tried. Good spot for a morning coffee after a morning work out around Pasir Ris Beach.
Can get a little busy during peak hours so sometimes there is a long queue and not enough seating. Otherwise, it’s all good
I only come to this Ya kun outlet because their service is the best so far I have encounted. Even though they are foreign workers so what? They work very hard and long hours serving us. Their food standard also good. Good and spacious and not like some other outlets very hot sitting there
This is one of fav Yakun branch, big space with many seats ..
Would have appreciated less evaporated milk in my tea. I go to Ya Kun because their tea is stronger than other places.
Great food and fast service. But the place kindda cramped. But overall i'm very statisfied with the quality of food served here.
Will be back again on my next trip to singapore
Best kaya in Singapore! 😍😍😍
Nice cafe
Toast is good but wish it cd b a slightly thicker slice.
The tea-C here taste better than other branches.
Strong Traditional Kopi. Large cup a bit pricey.
Their steam kaya toast and kopi O superb😋😋😋
Positive experience. Bought ice Milo only
One of the busiest yakun around.... friendly staff....
Long queue and they totally forget my order.
The drinks especially the Tea is good
Nice food and wonderful App
Foods that wake me up and keep me going ^^
Awesome 👌
Tastes really good.
Good food and service 👍👍👍😋😋😋
Always good
Always crowded
This place is always busy, especially in the mornings. If you want to have breakfast, I recommend going at opening time.
My recommendation is the kaya butter toast. It has a crispy texture that is different from other kaya toasts. For breakfast, I recommend the kaya toast, eggs, and coffee set.
The eggs are two soft-boiled eggs on a plate, and you eat them with a spoon with soy sauce. The coffee is strong, with milk and sugar, and you can order a large size. Kopi O is black coffee.
