Attended 2 lectures by Hanfugirl over the weekend and had loads of fun learning about the history and aesthetics of Jade & the development of Chinese fashion. She packs so much material into her lectures— but makes it very accessible, interspersing theory and history with real life examples and interesting cultural tidbits. Would def return for future lectures. Did a jade crafting workshop while I was there too — appreciated this behind the scenes experience as it made me better appreciate the time and effort needed to make these intricate items. Also spent much time ogling her wares, and eventually walked off with a few lovely pieces. ❤️
