I've known about The Green Mortician since I came across their IG for any worst case scenario as my little one frequents the emergency vet. I knew then that they were the one - for offering a more conservative and zen method of cremation process. My family and I can never bear the thought of burning her body and thankfully, TGM filled in the gaps of the pet cremation industry in Singapore. From the point of initial contact, the team has been very respectful and empathetic with their words. Yang was very responsive and answered my every question politely. Even when I made a last minute decision to change the pick up timing when they were already on their way to pick her up, just so my family could spend a little more time with her, Yang was never short of understanding the whole time. And when he arrived, he even allowed Sushi to be brought along with her favorite bed :') He then placed her in the back of the van that was beautifully decorated and gave us more time to send her off. Updates were always provided to us at every step of the process - from her arrival at the morgue, to the grooming and even prior to the start of the aqua cremation. This is an aspect that I valued and appreciated a lot - it felt like we were there by her side throughout. Unlike conventional crematorium, TGM gave off a sense of tranquillity and it felt more homely and was the perfect environment for our friends and family to visit Sushi one last time. The entire set up was beautiful and drinks were also provided for the guests. Pearlyn was there to assist us the whole memorial and was very considerate and gracious when we opted to extend for another hour. Her courteous demeanour when bringing Sushi's body back stood out - she asked for our permission and offered us a little more time to say goodbye a last time before she rested. When Sushi was ready to go home, everything was well labelled and our requests were all heard and never left out :') The clay paw imprints and nose imprints and photos were perfect memory of our little Sushi for us to live by. Going through the loss of our dearest little one Sushi (she's our first and only baby) has left my family devastated. But we were blessed to know that my girl was in the safe and loving hands of TGM on her final journey. Thank you Yang, Pearlyn and the team for the impeccable service. The entire touch has helped the living grieve a little easier :')

I would rate this a hundred stars if I could. The entire process from my furkid passing to collection of ashes had been nothing short of empathetic, professional and compassionate. Yang and Zai, along with Pearlyn, definitely went above and beyond as our funeral partner. I feel so lucky that I could engaged such a thoughtful service. Responses were always quick and pictures were always shared when possible. Zai came to pick up our boy one hour after passing and he was placed in the back of a car which was carefully decorated. The memorial was so beautiful and peaceful with dried and fresh flowers - it helped so much with my grieving. I was so amazed that they lovingly shower and blow dry the body - not wet wiped - so that it can be fresh and clean for the last rites. My boy looked so peaceful that day. Their space was serene and cosy with drinks readily available, and the team was so gracious to give my guests and I two hours for the memorial. We were also never rushed to leave. I took an extra 15 mins before I gave the green light to move on. Even so, the team was very respectful and asked "May I?" before all steps. There was also a memorial tree where we can hang Polaroids of our beloved ones who had passed. It was so bittersweet-ly beautiful. We chose The Green Mortician for their human centered experience, which is unparalleled in the whole human and pet cremation industry, and for sustainability. Water cremation uses much lesser energy and is less harmful to the environment. Our boy always loved a good shower, so we thought it would be really fitting too. We collected the ashes today and the team was really generous with their time to guide us through bone picking. They also provided jars for the bones that we would like to preserve. All their consumables down to the paper bag for the bamboo urn was high quality with individual stickers pasted to ensure the correct identification. All previously communicated requests were remembered and honoured. We are so lucky to have met a team this incredibly meticulous and considerate. We have been given an amazing experience and high quality products and I urge anyone to consider engaging them. You will not regret it. I felt that engaging The Green Mortician to lovingly handle my boy's fur suit was the perfect ending to the dreamy 13.5 years that I had with him on Earth. I began exploring funeral aftercare options while Haagen was on palliative care. Friends advised me to be prepared, as you never know when the day will come. One day, I came across a story about a fellow Westie who underwent aqua cremation, and I was intrigued. I decided to reach out to The Green Mortician (TGM). From our first interaction over WhatsApp, I felt their empathy, support, and compassion. They patiently answered all my questions and were very reassuring. Although I received many recommendations for conventional cremation companies on Facebook, I was quite set on TGM. Aqua cremation, being a new concept, appealed to me as it seemed a gentler and more environmentally friendly way to send off a loved one. Since Haagen loved playing with water and waves, this felt like the perfect way to honor his final journey. A few weeks later, the fateful day arrived. I called TGM, and within an hour, Yang showed up. I mentioned that I needed more time as I was waiting for a friend to come and say goodbye. In hindsight, I could have asked TGM to come later, but Yang waited patiently and even entertained Louie, my other Westie, who was oblivious of what was happening. When it was time for Haagen to go, Yang gently picked him up, placed him in the box, and zipped it up with a plastic cover. We followed Yang to his van, where the box was placed at the back with flowers. It was a very nice touch. Pearlyn and Yang followed up with me on the logistics, including the admission, and kept me updated when Haagen was on his way to the facility and after he was cleaned up. They asked for three photos for the memorial service and even made a digital invitation for our visitors. Fortunately, we secured a Sunday afternoon slot for the memorial two days later. By the time we arrived, Haagen was already resting, looking clean, tidy, and handsome. The team did a wonderful job making him look his best. Dried flowers were part of the setup, and we added more fresh flowers, Haagen’s favorite food, and toys. The memorial room could hold about eight visitors, and there was a resting place outside with light refreshments for the guests. The space at TGM was beautiful and calming, allowing guests to sit and reminisce about their time with Haagen. Dogs were allowed as long as they wore diapers, so Louie was running around the facility, providing some laughter amidst the somber event. As the memorial was about to end, knowing it would be the last time I saw my boy, I became very emotional. TGM gave me more time and space to grieve with Haagen. Finally, when they have to move him to another room, they again asked for my permission to handle him. They then pushed him to the cremation room. That was the last time I saw Haagen. They provided an update when Haagen was about to be cremated, along with a lock of my hair to follow Haagen. The entire process took 24 hours, excluding drying time. When the bones were ready, I arranged for a bone viewing to decide which bones would be ground into ash for my ring and which would be preserved. They also gave me fur trimmings and canines in glass jars. The bones were packed and stored in a bamboo urn. Yang even showed me how to handle the urn, placing one hand underneath, which I thought was a nice gesture. From beginning to end, Haagen was in good hands and I’m sure he would be happy with my choice. TGM handled the process respectfully and professionally, while also being kind and accommodating. Though this was a difficult time, TGM has certainly made this much easier for me. I have nothing but great appreciation to the team. Thank you, The Green Mortician.

We were much comforted and supported throughout the entire process, from pickup to storage to clean-up, and commencement of process, arranging and viewing of retrieved bones, right down to placing the ashes in a muslin bag and bamboo box. We got in touch with The Green Mortician around 2 weeks ago, after the unfortunate and sudden passing of our little dog, MJ. The traumatic situation was handled with so much ease by Yang, and I just wanted to take some time to express my gratitude for him and his team - for providing the most beautiful ending I could have ever hoped for. He listened and accommodated to all my last wishes, enabling me to spend as much time as I possibly could with our little doggy. We had contacted him at the last minute, given the unexpected circumstances. He made the arrangements to pick MJ up from our home as I had wished, and was transported very nicely in his vehicle. The memorial was set up the following day, which was definitely the most beautiful way to send MJ off. A cozy space, lovely set up and everything you could dream of having for a loved one, even in the worst times. With the gentle aqua cremation scheduled the following day, there were updates given at every step. I am truly grateful to have been able to bring my dearest MJ home peacefully, with the help of The Green Mortician. And now looking back on all the photos, I just wanted to say thank you to Yang and his team for compassionately handling every detail that I would not have been able to process on my own during that period.

Our beloved Bowie passed on in the early hours (Day 1) and yet Yang responded to my call and came to fetch Bowie. Yang treated our departed dog with care and respect, and he was gentle and reassuring. The team prepared and groomed Bowie handsomely before the procedure. And I was kept updated regularly. By Day 8, Bowie was ready to be returned home. We opted for a simple cremation only package as we did not think the children could deal with the send-off. Nevertheless, Yang and team did something extra (and lovely) for us - they gifted us Bowie’s printed pictures and a frame, along with his bamboo urn. When we lost our dear boy, Cayenne, last month, my mom was very adamant not to do a fire cremation and the thought of it sounds so painful even though he's no longer with us. Thankfully we read about The Green Mortician bringing flameless pet cremation to Singapore on Straits Times earlier this year and knew that was the best way we could send our darling off. We didn't know what to expect when enquiring but Yang was very calm and understanding, explaining the process and sending across details about it to ensure that we are fully aware of the cremation process. Although there was a pick up service, we opted to drop him off and when that time came it was naturally painful to pass him over to them. Yang was very kind to let us spend some time in one of the rooms with cayenne and say our final goodbyes. That was truly what we needed before we could let Yang take over. I'm truly grateful for Yang, keeping us informed throughout the process and bringing cayenne back to us. It is never easy saying goodbye to a beloved companion, but Green Mortician made the journey less difficult and we are glad we decided to engage their service. We lost Muffin, our 15yo baby, unexpectedly on a Saturday afternoon at the animal hospital. Everything happened quite suddenly and we were overwhelmed with emotions, distraught, and needless to say, unprepared. The staff at the Vet hospital recommended Green Mortician. It was the first time we heard about aqua cremation but we immediately leaned towards this option because of how appropriate and natural the whole process sounded. It felt like the most gentle and respectful way to say our final goodbyes and for Muffin’s little body to leave us. Within minutes of confirming Green Mortician’s service, they had everything planned out for us. A driver picked up Muffin from the vet to their premise to prepare for the ceremony. He handled her little body gently and respectfully. 1-2 hours later, we headed down to their office located in Toh Guan Centre. Although it was an industrial building, their premise was cosy and very welcoming. Their resident pet cat and dog also made the place feel like home. We were brought into a private ceremony room and the place was beautifully set up and Muffin was cleaned up well. We were given ample time to spend final moments with our baby in privacy and the staff were respectful and kind. Yang explained everything to us in detail and we knew exactly what to expect. We were also kept updated throughout the process via whatsapp. Within a couple of days, Yang delivered her bones back to us together with mementos to keep our memory of Muffin alive. We had a little clay with her paw imprint, her fur and her teeth set aside in little glass containers and even a little photo frame of her. Thank you Green Mortician for handling the final journey of our baby with care and respect, and for bringing her back home to us in a beautiful way.

Our senior mini schnauzer Koko crossed the Rainbow Bridge 1 week ago at the age of 18 years and 4 months. We were searching for a pet cremation service and chanced upon The Green Mortician. What attracted us was the aqua cremation as opposed to the usual burning cremation, and also the beautiful Memorial Room as we wanted to do a proper send off for our beloved furkid. Yang was quick to respond to our call and provided us information on the process. He arranged for picking up of our furkid. Joe came and said a silent prayer before gently and respectfully put our beloved furkid in the bag. We had opted to use the Memorial Room so as to spend some time with our furkid. Thanks, Yang for cleaning and grooming, Koko looked so beautiful like she was sleeping peacefully on her bed, with flowers, candles and soothing music. We really appreciated that Yang accommodated us and let us use the Memorial Room beyond the usual office hours. Yang regularly provided us updates on the cremation process and sent us photo of Koko before cremation. Koko's ashes, photos and her fur clippings in a capsule were returned home to us and we felt like she's still with us though not physically. Really appreciate the Green Mortician for their patience and kindness in making this painful season manageable. As a first time pet owner their gentle and compassionate guidance helped to ease and soothes the stress and unbearable pain of losing my beloved dog. They sent photos and explanation on every step of her final journey - from picking her from the Vet to cleaning her and preparing her for her “last warm bath” and the orderly and meticulous way her bones are laid out. The thought of the gentle water running on her makes the thought of losing her less painful. Her ashes are sealed in a plastic bag and packed in a pouch and placed in the urn. Choosing the most appropriate company for pet cremation service is so important, especially right after losing my dog. I heard of the Green Motician last year, so I decided to contact them because I feel that aqua cremation is more gentle and much less carbon emissions. I was in a state of shock and fatigue after QQ my 17.5 years old labrador retriever passed away in the middle of night at 4am. By then I had spent about a full week at the hospital by her side and I was completely exhausted after staying up all night to ensure that she was not alone in the final walk. After she passed, I left the works of settling the funeral and afterlife affairs to my husband. He had been looking around for a good caretaker for QQ in the previous months and without hesitation he called Yang from The Green Mortician. Though completely sleepy, Yang immediately provided support and gave my husband a clear walkthrough on how the day would be like (pick-up, wake, cremation etc). Yang advised that usually the pet would be picked up within 1-2 hours to minimise the natural decomposition process. However, he understood that we needed to grieve and hold on to QQ somemore so he allowed us to take QQ home and only came to collect QQ at 12.30pm. During the pick-up, he was completely sensitive, professional and respectful towards us and QQ. The way he carried QQ to the car was unhurried and dignified. The next time we met was 3.30pm at the premise of TGM where the wake would be held. The moment I stepped into the space, I felt very consoled as there was an air of purity and dignity in the space. The place was extremely clean, pure and well-curated. For the first time that long day, I felt a moment of peace and comfort. When they showed us to the room where QQ was at, I cried because it was everything that I would have wanted for QQ. it was a very minimalistic, Scandinavian designed room that was simple, clean and beautiful. QQ was placed on the dignified altar where she was surrounded by beautiful floral arrangements, candles, soothing music (her favourite!) and a nice photo frame. They had also shrouded her with the white floral scarf that I had given them. QQ looked deeply in peace and at ease, and I can tell that they had handled her with care, cleaned her and cared for her since taking her from us. In the next few hours, our friends and family were gathered in their beautiful space to remember fond memories of QQ and grieve her passing. There were also 2 cats in the space (Orleng & Tabby) and they helped to give a sense of life and optimism amidst the sad funeral. Throughout, we felt completely at home. Yang also gave our group a tour of the aqua cremation facility so it was also an educational session as we learnt about the alkaline hydrolysis technology that is used to treat the animal. It sounded gentle and was exactly how I had hoped for QQ's afterlife. I was very very thankful that Yang set up this venture so that pet-owners like us can have the option of gently cremating our pets with water and not toasted in scorching flame. The thought is very unbearable when our pets have shown us only gentleness in their lives. There memorabilia were very aesthetic and well-designed e.g., wooden spiral urn, wooden round wall feature, crystal/rock pebbles, biodegradable urn. While Yang introduced them to us, he never for a moment pressured us to buy them and instead suggested for us to keep a look out for an urn that we would really like for QQ. You can tell that he really cared for you and your pet more than for his profits and business. While the cost of the package is indeed higher than traditional cremation (due to a price hike from the authorities on treating waste water), I think it is completely well-justified and well worth every penny spent if you see your pet more as a family and really really want them to have a dignified, serene and beautiful send-off. The money I spent I will earn back but the core memory of knowing that QQ was well-taken care of right till the very end will stay with me forever. The Green Mortician is truly a business done right and run by owners (Yang!) and employee (Regina!) who are true animal lovers. I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for the right service for their pets' afterlife and have in fact been telling everyone who asked about QQ's passing.

Finally managed to get myself to write this review following the passing of my boy. I had done some research prior on how to deal with his funeral when the time comes and the Green Mortician was at the top of my list despite being a new concept that had just gathered some publicities in Singapore (I watched them on CNA). The main reason why I engaged the Green Mortician was because of personal beliefs and I have always hated the idea of using fire to send off my loved ones. I wanted to preserve as much of his bones as possible and complete, which is unachievable by fire especially for bones of small animals. Despite having done some research myself, the Green Mortician really took the time and patience to address each and every question that I had, and I am very thankful for that as it really eased all my worries to entrust my boy to them. I advise all to have a 1-1 enquiry with them to understand the process and explore all available options. I was fortunate that they were able to arrange the funeral that evening on the same day. The work and preparations they did, from arriving at my place within 2 hours (me being first timer, without pre-arrangement, and early morning), transporting my boy to their site for preparation, to setting up the funeral in a private room at their facility, nothing could express my gratitude towards their compassions in such delicate matters. Water cremation is a slow process as it is gentle with the use of chemicals at lower corrosive concentration to not corrode away the bones. The duration required to complete the cremation is dependent on many factors, such as size/weight. My Schnauzer took about 48 hours and managed to get quite a bit of his bones (with options to powderize into ash), very clean and white. Broke my heart to see that but I was very pleased as that is what I wanted for him. Being a relatively young establishment on the road less travelled, the Green Mortician is not perfect, but still I encourage all to give them a chance to do good, not just for the environment, but a gentler send off that hopefully may ease your heart a little.
