Reviews of Pilates Body Pilot
Chris is one of the best Pilates instructors I have trained with (and I have tried atleast 4 studios in Singapore). He really customises the workout for your body’s shape, fitness and goals. Even in a group class, he gives personal attention. He is very good at explaining the ‘how’ and ‘why’. He never gives up on his client, even if I think I can’t do something, he will ensure he explains step by step with right breathing and engaging the right muscle group to make it possible! I would highly recommend Chris to anyone who wants to start or advance their wellbeing with Pilates.
I started pilates with Chris with the intention of strengthening my core and pelvic floor during my pregnancy with the intention of having a natural delivery. When I first started, my posture was terrible, with my right shoulder and hip much elevated compared to my left, resulting in lower back pains which worsened during pregnancy. Thanks to Chris' individualised assessment, he clearly identifies the muscle imbalances and corrects them at every session. I've never had better posture, and this was during pregnancy! Chris also takes the time to explain his approach and rationale for each movement, and instructs in a way that helps me understand and engage the right muscles. I continued my sessions until the week I delivered, and had no pelvic floor issues after my natural delivery. Highly recommended for everyone! And for pregnant mums looking for antenatal and postnatal pilates, this is your guy!
Chris is the epitome of the saying “the best comes last” comes true in my year long journey to fix my kneecap issue.
Unlike the prior classes I had in various studios, Chris took a holistic approach to review my situation. Though horrified that I had to also work on my slightly hunched mid back and plantar fasciitis, I (on hindsight) am grateful that he did what was best for me.
He’s the first Practitioner who adapts to you rather than going through routines. I can’t forget how he asked me to pick the one breathing cue I relate to the best and he used that in every class after that. In his words, there’s no right or wrong but what work best. I no longer struggle with my inability to multitask or complete entire action within a breathe. Chris just customised the routine into one that make sense to me and my first generation CPU ☺
After 3+ months of amazing transformation in my body, I have to say Chris, the sensei, is the key in my road to recovery. If only his x ray eyes can stop detecting that I slack in practising his assignments at home 😬
