Reviews of The Fitness Protocol
David Devito is a wonderful trainer! I joined Fitness Protocol a few years ago and left. Recently, I re-joined Fitness Protocol and David is as welcoming as ever. I wanted to rebuild my health and physical strength. To my surprise, David’s workouts managed to reverse my Thyroid issues in the 3 months of re-joining.
David is also very generous with information, providing extra talks on nutrition, exercise forms and techniques which are crucial to building a fit, healthy and injury free body.
I would definitely recommend Fitness Protocol to anyone who is trying to get fit and healthy. Trust David, trust the process and you will be in good hands 😊
I joined Fitness Protocol in 2017 and have never looked back since. David puts a lot of thought in customizing workouts to help members achieve our fitness goals. More importantly, he emphasizes the importance of proper technique in training so as to avoid unnecessary injuries, along with maintaining a clean diet that ensures long-term success.
Highly recommended for individuals looking for a health and fitness-focused lifestyle change. You just need to TURN UP at the gym and David will do the rest!
I am so grateful for David's guidance and support throughout my fitness journey. Your expertise and encouragement have been instrumental in helping me achieve my goals. You create a positive and motivating atmosphere that makes me actually look forward to our sessions. Thank you for pushing me to be my best self, both physically and mentally. I highly recommend Fitness Protocol to anyone looking to improve their fitness!
My wife and I joined The Fitness Protocol in May 2024. Before committing to the programme, David (founder and coach) was adamant that we had a mutual understanding of each other; namely what our goals were, our current physical state, as well as what he could offer and expect of us.
If memory serves me right, we spent close to two (2) hours just talking. We signed up for the 3-month programme that very same day, and we've had nothing but a positive experience since.
David's focus is two-fold; nutrition and progressive training.
1. Nutrition
Abs are made in the kitchen, and David ensures that we understand the science behind food, how it affects our body, and how to use this information to our advantage. He keeps a close eye on what we eat as well, which quite frankly helps me be (a bit) more disciplined.
2. Training
Safety is of the utmost importance to him, and yes, people have been scolded because their forms were not right, or they could be pushing themselves just a tad bit harder. Slower gains are preferable to long-term injuries, and he knows when to push you, and when to stop.
Even when I was absent for an extended period for personal reasons, David was encouraging, and if anything, was happier than I was to see me back in the gym.
At the end of the day, The Fitness Protocol isn't for everyone. But if you want a coach / trainer who is just as passionate and invested as you are about your weight loss / fitness journey, then The Fitness Protocol is second to none. Thank you, David!
i have been training in The Fitness Protocol, under David, for 3 years (and counting) already and would always be so thankful that i walked into the gym 3 years ago on that wed evening to enquire about the workout training offered here in TFP.
my membership with TFP started with a three months (+ a free one month) conditioning phase and got to say, i have learnt so much technique and skills from just these four months. by skills, i do not only meant the correct forms for the respective workouts but also breathing techniques, eating practises and mental resilience. honestly, what made me sign up for the 4 months conditioning phase then, was the trial class i had prior with David. he had spent a whole hour teaching me the right squat form. sounds insane and unbelievable but it was really an hour of squat class where he taught me in great details the different muscles to engage, the positioning of my feet and the way to breathe. i had prior personal training before joining David and this hour of squat class just hits differently. sis here really felt the burn (in a good way) on my thighs the next day but at the same time, there was also a new burning flame ignite inside me that affirmed my decision that i want to join and train under David because where else would you be able to find a trainer this diligent and dedicated?
the skills learnt during these four months of conditioning is really life-long. and with these skills, you see yourself lifting heavier, do more reps and be much stronger. i have grew so much as a person training under david. physically, i noticed myself getting leaner and growing more muscles which i feel so proud of whenever i look at myself in the mirror because it shows me how far i have come. mentally, i could feel a change in myself. i felt fitter, healthier and most importantly, better about myself. i also became more resilient and have learnt that the limit is in your mind. e.g., on days i felt that i couldn’t lift heavier, David would be there to encourage me and make me realised that i am much stronger than i believed myself to be. David is someone who knows us better than we know ourselves and is always here to push us to our best.
David is a great trainer who takes time to carefully curate out workouts for us and he would also take the effort to video down the way to do these workouts and post in our whatsapp group chats. training with David isn’t like the typical fast one hour cardio exercise and off you go, but a really structured mix of cardio/weight lifting workouts that brings you to doing better. he even create special workout for members who are injured or is unable to do a certain exercise. not only that, David actually lengthened the operating hours of the gym for us members. he opened the gym early at 6am (morning gym used to be 630am) for those of us who needed to rush off to work. this was to ensure that we would still have sufficient time to workout in the morning before work. he would also open the gym till late for those members who knock off late so that they could still make it in time to train at night. got to remind you but TFP is a one-man show, where David is the only trainer. this is how much he cared for us and how much he actually went above and beyond to ensure that each member has the opportunity to workout. if this isn’t a trainer who cares for his members, I do not know what is. David would also get us to send him photos of our food and would give very constructive feedback on our eating habits and offer better alternatives.
he may be strict, fierce and straightforward but (as cliché as it sounds), its really with good intentions and for our own good. i really appreciate how strict he is during training because that is really how you learn. you cant have your cake and eat it. likewise, you cant expect to see progress in yourself unless you are willing to be corrected and learn from your mistakes. he does not shout at you during training unless you are doing something that comprises safety because he is someone who take no nonsense when it comes to safety.
