wash+cut+blow session done by jimmy. he was very patient and attentive to my preferences of how i wanted my hair to be done. i was satisfied with how the results turned out. he even taught me how to maintain my hair at home. ~$60 for a 1 hour session was an acceptable price in my opinion. the salon was also clean and easy to locate. highly recommend to visit here! ☺️

Came here for the first time for a wash+cut+blow, done by Chris. She was very knowledgeable and friendly, making the whole experience amazing! my hair is on the curlier side and she understood how to cut it to get the layered look I wanted, cutting it dry rather than after washing (very important for curlier hair types!). She also took into account how my hair will look like when it grows out so that I can be happy with my hair for longer. Overall, really good haircut at a super reasonable price and I would definitely recommend anyone to come here, and I would especially recommend Chris! 💞

Kent always give me professional comments to let me know whether the hair style and color is suitable for me. Every time I visit the salon, I feel relaxed and comfortable. Have been going to No.8 for while now. I moved away from the west and still go back strictly for my haircut! Winnie (creative stylist) does such a good job at layering, when I requested for a slight wolf cut/Hershey cut. Most importantly, the hair always grow out really well. Super reasonably priced, they also sell really good hair products by Davine’s which I swear by now for my usually rough and frizzy hair (I use Nou Nou shampoo and hair mask) Highly recommend!

Been following Kent for like 5-7 years? Recommended this salon to 5 friends at least! What I like is, they don’t hard sell and each stylist always gives their best. Superb customer service! They mainly use Davines products which suits my sensitive scalp. Kent is really good at hair colour! He is practical yet creative, even though covering my grey hair can be a challenge. I've been a customer of No.8 Hair Studio for a couple of years. They started out in a small shop house and have expanded to a larger unit. They have managed to grow over the years due to the attention they give to their customers and the quality they provide time and time again. From the moment you enter their premise, a staff will tend to you shortly and offer you water and show you to your seat. Through the years, I've been a customer of Kent, their Master Director. Kent has been very attentive to my hair through the sessions. Not only does he offer advice on how to take care of my hair after each session, but also styling tips for both a lazy day and a work day. Do ask him any questions related to hair. If you have a new style that you would like to try, get his opinion on it. He will do his best to offer his suggestion and may tweak the style slightly to suit your facial structure. This was one of the first few things he did when tending to my hair, which I really appreciated. As a customer of his, it really builts my trust in him as a professional, knowing that I am in good hands. Knowing that the hairstyle would have to last myself a good 6 to 8 weeks, Kent really does his best to help you look good until your next cut. Overall, I've been very satisfied with the service provided at No.8 hair studio. If you are looking for a new style, or would like to revitalised your hairdo, make an appointment with them. I'm sure their staff would be happy to help you achieve the desired look you are going for!

Enjoyed my first hair cut here by Jimmy. Very reasonable price and excellent service. The hair studio is located very near to mrt and you can see the place from the track. To reach the studio from Chinese garden mrt, follow the overhead bridge to the walkway. At the end of the walkway you will see a sign for the studio next to the clinic (see photo). Follow the sign to make a left turn. You will be lead to the "backyard" of the block. Walk straight and look for the sign to enter the studio via a stair case (see photo).

Googled for good perms in SG & No. 8 came up. Went to Director Shim for a haircut (to salvage my hair after going for some express cuts at random salons) & a perm. Director Shim isn't someone who tells you no & offers no other alternatives. As my hair was too short for tight curls, he offered a better solution & recommended me to go for shorter curls. This was really hard to achieve as he had to do lots of sectioning. He was super meticulous with this too. One thing that truly impressed me was that unlike other salons where the director just delegates, Director Shim was hands on all throughout, even with washing of my hair. Whenever he had to attend to someone else, he would tell me to give him some time before he leaves. He also managed to save my hairstyle & his undercut with fade was really nicely done. There was NO HARD SELLING of products AT ALL. Officially changing my stylist & salon to No. 8!

After much research, I decided to make a booking with Shim director. - Best choice ever! He listened to me and gave me very good advice on what he would be doing and checked if I was comfortable, he was also very transparent with the price. End of the day, he managed to save my hair with a cut + perm + dye, my hair look really soft and bouncy after. People around me noticed my hair and asked for referrer. Been following Kent since they were at Chinese Garden. His attention to detail is top-notch and has a great eye for what style and colour suits you. No hardselling here so there's no need to worry about signing up for packages you don't need! The environment is also very comfortable and clean. Everyone's friendly! The results are nothing short of great based on the compliments that I received! Like what others have said, he is meticulous and professional, and he understood my requests fully. After reading so many good reviews about this hair salon. I decided to get my haircut today. I was served by Shim Director as per my appointment. He is very detail oriented. Though he is not talkative, I found it very pleasing. He also tried to give me some advice to achieve my reference hairstyle although it couldn’t be exact to the reference due to my requirements and SG climate. Happily, my haircut turned out very flattering and super easy to maintain and home style. Very satisfied with his excellent work! The ambience were very cosy and nice. Staffs and other directors were very welcoming and friendly as well. No hard selling on any other services at all which it’s a plus point! The location is easy to commute for me as well. I had a great experience at the salon with Jimmy, who cut my hair. As someone with naturally wavy and curly hair, it’s tough to find a stylist who knows how to work with my texture. I usually feel pretty nervous about haircuts because even when I go to highly recommended stylists, I often end up with frizzy hair. But I love how my hair turned out this time! When I arrived, he greeted me and offered me a drink. I requested a layered cut to add volume as my hair is fine and thinning, and he understood what I needed. Jimmy took his time during the wash, which I appreciated since it’s often rushed in other salons. Because the salon wasn’t busy, he personally washed my hair and gave a nice head massage. After the wash, he did a wet cut and dry cut, and provided me with some styling tips. He was very meticulous throughout the process. He also noticed I was getting warm and turned on a fan for me, which was sweet hahaha. Overall, it was a solid experience, and I would definitely return to Jimmy for future services!
