Reviews of Champion Hotel
A simple hotel that for Singapore has decent prices and definitely worth staying at if you don’t mind a simple place, cheaper, still has good transportation near, and has a decent amount of restaurants (especially Vietnamese).
For 3 nights I got a family room that was actually pretty nice and afterwards for 1 night and I got a regular smaller room that had twin beds. I did have a bit of a problem with getting my room cleaned because the room button wasn’t working so I had to go to the front desk but they were friendly then and all times I spoke with them.
Room was spacious. Lots of halal food at hotel area. Location is near to malls amd mosque
This hotel is one of favorit hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will surely come back.
Because it is a small hotel, so we didn't have high expectation. But although it's not so clean(because the fridge got stain and the previous tourists' medicine left in the fridge??!! 😩, the table, the floor and the kettle all not cleaned properly ), the service was very nice.Room is just nice, and for 2 persons, it is quite satisfied. The TV 's channels is very limited.
Nice rooms, expensive though and air con units right outside window. Service a bit average
Room is clean, aircon take some time to cold the room. Washroom need to improve water pressure system, water keep on changing during my 15min showering time
a nice little hotel tucked in a Malay community. surrounded with great choices of food and vibrant small businesses. we stayed in a lovely theme room and our children couldn't be happier. easy access using bus and we recommend this place for travelers who are looking to avoid crowd and touristy places.
I find the location is quite convenient as many shopping and dinning area within short walking distance.Cleanliness at bath toilet area and bedding are acceptable, mattress is comfortable. But lack of regular cleaning on air exhaust ceiling outlet as I noticed a lot of dust accumulated there.
The place is clean and simple. Fast check in and check outNo hair dryer in the room. Hot water shower is slow
Firstly the family room's inert ventilator was giving the roast meat smell and secondly we caught two baby cockroaches, one below the toilet basin and the other one near entrance of the main door. Overall I won't say it's too bad because the beds were well made and the floor is clean, the room just need to be checked one more time before handing over to customers. That's all I want to say, thank you.
The hotel is located in quite a bussling area with lots of local food options. Also easy to get to the city.
The price of the hotel is cheap, but note that you get what you pay for. The rooms are small and simple, so if you are the sort of person who will do a lot of exploring and only sleep in the room then the hotel and area are both great for that. If you like to hand out in your room and enjoy it then choose another hotel... There are 2 or three others on the same street. My room had no window so it's good that I spent most of the time out!
So for the price it is perfectly fine, but make sure you know what you want.
Positive:
Rooms are very nice, the service is great and very helpful. The location is not bad, you get to the bus station in 5 minutes and to the train station in 15-20 by foot.
Negative:
The room listed a hair dryer which wasn't there, there weren't even power plugs in the bathroom.
The included breakfast is poor. You get it two doors next to the hotel in an Asian restaurant. There you can choose between 4 different asian breakfast sets like for example noodles and fish balls. I think it's important to know that you can't choose a western breakfast. The coffee was so sweet that it didn't even taste like coffee anymore.
the family room is big & clean, but the roof above my washing area was lil' leaking, and sadly the pillow wasn't soft at all, i tried to flip maximum but pillow cannot be as fluffy as i wanted to be, anw the staff so helpful & nice, most of all the price is very affordable & near so many food station.
Great stay. Nice location. Friendly staff. Near by restaurants
Good hotel for short stay. Staff were friendly and nice. The breakfast wasn't good. they send you to a restaurant next door to get breakfast, but they only have couple choices (lunch meals). For transportation, make sure you take bus # 24 from the airport directly to the neighborhood where the hotel is located, and make sure you have the exact change or buy EZ link card if you are planning to stay for few days in Singapore.
Great value for money. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There are lots of shops to eat and do window shopping. It is also accessible to transportation. However, it seems that the walls between the rooms are thin. You can hear what the people from the other room is talking.
The room was clean and has all the necessary amenities. The REceptionists were friendly and helpful. We had out hot water flask replaced quickly. We enjoyed the stay.
This hotel is generally good. The location is very convenient, you can have many delicious food around the hotel. Only one thing to complain about is that the Wi-Fi speed sucks. You even can’t connect to the Internet in the evening.
Small hotel with clean room.
Room is not noise proof though. Throughout the night I can hear doors being open and close, or sound of people knocking or ringing door bells. If you're a deep sleeper, then this place is good.
Nice and clean room, lobby is nicely decorated and with light perfume. Location is great, very near to shops and restaurant. However Internet connection in room was very poor, a big big disappointment for work traveller
Room is small but clean enough. Service was good. Easy to find halal food and shops around the hotel (near 24 hr Alwadi food court). It's ok since we spent whole day out and back to the hotel for resting only.
1: No carpark for you to park your car / no complimentory ticket for your car.
2: bring your own kettle. Hotel kettle not really good.
3: bring or get ear plug if your room facing behind main road, why? People drunk and talk loudly at mid-night. No point called police or hotel security.
4: This hotel only for couple or for 2 peoples not for big familys with childrens.
Last: Don't pretend to be rich or you will be ask by passby for money.
So good luck and enjoy with f&b around geylang stall, restaurant and market food stall. Good bye.
Nice hotel in a very quiet area . Close to the underground, with it you can reach the airport in 10/15 minutes . Very close to the city center too always through the underground but very close there is a main road with buses and taxi .
Plenty on place to eat and also at few malls .
Good rapport quality/price/location .
Good hotel good location good amenities. Hotel is perfectly located nearby local market highly recommend this place
Staff are all accomodating, has free bottled water, coffee, tea. Though the place is quite far from most of the attractions still worth the price.
And theres nothing to see when you want to walk around at night.
Terrible hotel, room is dirty + there was some noise All THE TIME in the wall when you turn water on, water pump probably... Lobby is good, but no budget spent on keeping the rooms good - needs repair!!
Pros:
- Spacious & clean room
- Friendly staff
- A lot of places to eat nearby
- Easily accessible by public transpo (with a little bit of walking)
Cons:
- Really bad internet. You cannot get a decent connection and the signal drops off every few minutes. Do not go here if you need a reliable internet connection.
Room was clean and serviced daily. Air-conditioning works perfectly. The location is really nice with shops, restaurants and public transport within easy reach.
Stayed for a night. Very affordable hotel by Singapore standards. Rooms were surprisingly clean and spotless. Fast check in and out
Welcoming receiption. . but check your convenient room nicely before and they help you for that. Very clean and tidy hotel reasonably priced, halal food near the hotel but no vegetarian food nearby fare price shop opposite of the hotel give you in better price, many wholesale shop nearby ( water and essential)
Cartoon room is very cosy & spacious. Love the design & the room smells nice. It was great to hv a shower bath & shampoo in the toilet.
The room we stayed in was cosy and perfect for a 3 days 2 night. alot of food places nearby too
The hotel is overall value for money and the services are good as well. Improvement wise, it'll be nice if the room service clean the floor as well when cleaning the room.
Room is very clean and spacious. Aircon is also very cooling. Good for a resting place with alot of nice Malay foods nearby.
Perfect for a one or two night stay. I wouldn't want to stay here much longer unless you will be out exploring all day and just need to rest your head somewhere
Low budget hotel. A good choice if you just want to take rest as there are few facilities. Service, room, AC, etc were just OK. A plus for me is it's near mosque and Hjh Maimunah restaurant.
Clean rooms however pretty small. Easy to get nice local foods. Not easy to get taxi. Staff very helpful
Room partition or sound insulation no good. Everytime next room flush the toilet, you can hear clearly.
Little outside from main city but I love the place and hotel. Nice behavior. Room was cleaned everyday.
Prompt service, has 8 parking lots on first-come-first-serve basis. Overall clean and comfy stay.
Clean, nice and comfy place. Near to a lot of food places. Rich heritage as well.
Service was pretty good with a comfortable room. It's ten/fifteen minutes walk from the nearest subway station so it's an okay location.
we spent 4 nights at the hotel, just one word to describe : great!!
Bed was sunken in, springs were poking my back, toilet bowl was dirty and had brown stains
Wifi in 4th floor very poor so i ask to reception to change to and they give me room in the 2nd floor and wifi exelent but over all so good..nice bed..nice room..nice AC..nice bathroom also...and very clean
joo chit complex just across the road which you have many shops u can get daily necessities from
The room is pretty small but very neat and well-designed. Staffs are very helpful.
Far away from MRTFacing Main Road super noisy
Very cozy and nice hotel with halal champion coffee house with delicious food 👍👍
Great hotels with plenty of restaurant around to eat.
Good location with amenities nearby
Good stay value your money. Friendly staff and housekeeper.
Not bad nothing much to say about the place.
Clean, easy to find eating place
Ok good and will be going there again
Booked this as it is near the Geylang Serai Bazaar
The biggest drawback of this hotel is that it's not clean
❌The attached towel is yellowish and thin
❌There are black stains on the sheets
❌The pillowcases are also full of black spots
❌The bathroom is full of damp smell and the floor is full of mold
We stayed in a windowless room. The independent air conditioner was very cold when it was cold. When sleeping at night, it could only blow on the head, which was very uncomfortable. The bed felt like it was about to collapse, and there was a sound when turning over. The bed quilt was given Very thin and dirty
There is no hairdryer in the room. You have to borrow one from the front desk.
In terms of advantages, there are many bus stops and subway stations nearby, and Route 24 can take you directly to Changi Airport.
One afternoon in the hotel, the central air conditioner on the entire floor was broken, and it was not repaired until almost 11 o'clock in the evening. It was so hot in the room that I couldn't do anything, and the front desk did nothing, whether it was helping to arrange the room or giving me a few more bottles of water. No, it is recommended not to choose this hotel no matter what the situation is.
Comparing the hotel market in Singapore, a place with high prices, this is a barely good choice, especially if you don't want to stay in a capsule-style bed room.
Advantages: The air-conditioning is very sufficient, the hotel is cleaned every day (but no bottled water was given on the last day), and it is about a 5-10 minute walk from the subway station Paya Lebar.
Disadvantages: During my stay, I saw two large cockroaches, and there were eggs on the ground as shown in the picture; the hotel only provides bath towels, not towels and floor towels; the hotel's sound insulation is very poor, and you can hear the outside even if you wear earplugs sound.
The downstairs is very convenient and the service is good! Affordable choice!
A rare 20-square-meter double bed room in Singapore. Although the room facilities are old, they are complete, the layout is wrong, and the cleaning is relatively clean. The location is between the Green Line and the East Coast. It is an acceptable 1 kilometer walk from the Green Line. You can walk to the beach in half an hour after dinner. It is very convenient to eat and shop around.
Nice service (there were gentlemen at the reception), average-sized rooms, could be a bit cleaner.
There are many places with cheap food nearby. 10 min walk to the cable car station.
It's worth it for one or two nights.
Good accommodation, suitable for walking, not long to find the bus stop. The accommodation is not very wide. But it's not so narrow that it's uncomfortable. There are 4 pillows.
Our room was large and clean. The bathroom is very modern but rather small. We felt very comfortable and were able to sleep well. Unfortunately we were woken up very early because the walls are very thin and you can hear everything from the neighbors. The hotel is not very centrally located but the airport is not far away. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
Super clean room, well designed bathroom compared to the small space, and super quiet. We had a room on the first floor not far from the elevators and overlooking an adjacent street, but there was no noise. The nearest metro is 10-15 minutes away, but the area is quite lively and restaurants and markets are close so it's not a problem. Many buses serve the area and the metro takes you to the main points of the city center. A real good point and the prices remain reasonable compared to prices in Singapore.
I was traveling with my family this time. I have always wanted to find a clean and cheap hotel in Singapore with a triple room. The city edge hotel met our requirements. We stayed for three nights (no windows) and the total cost including tax was about HKD 2170. , breakfast included. ||Because we didn’t take the MRT, we all came and went by taxi. I won’t comment on its location and convenience, but if there are 3-4 people in the group, it’s actually not very expensive to take a taxi ||The front desk staff was very polite , we arrived early at around 12 noon, and there happened to be a room available, so we checked in and got the room to rest first || I was very satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, and the basic equipment was available, such as: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, Shower gel, free distilled water and more. It is worth praising that the hotel provides pillows with two softness and hardness options. I slept very well here for 4 days and 3 nights || Overall, the price is really cost-effective. I think everything is very good.
During our first stay in Singapore in 2015, we had already stayed at this hotel but had booked a superior double room which was quite small, although very clean. For our 2nd stay, in August 2016, we returned to this same hotel but reserved the suite. The room was spacious, with a sitting area. Everything was very clean (room and bathroom), the welcome was courteous and the hotel offers good value for money. The suite however overlooks the road, there was a little noise.
The environment and facilities are generally good, but the service is average, especially the room was not cleaned that day and they shirk responsibility by saying I put up the do not disturb sign.
We booked through Expedia. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the subway station. It is quite far away. My feet are very sore after walking around the city every day. It is a bit painful to have to walk a long way back to the hotel.
In addition to the distance, the lobby and rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. There are 2-3 computers in the lobby on the first floor that can be used for free, which is very considerate.
There are supermarkets nearby for shopping and places to eat.
The service staff are very helpful and can speak both English and Chinese. There are no communication difficulties.
Two other small drawbacks are that the wifi in the room is unstable and often cannot be connected to the Internet, and there is only one attached washing machine, and it is in a room where employees store things.
1. The room was quite clean and comfortable, the hotel looks quite new.||2. The location is not exactly in the downtown area, however by taxi it is about 20 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes walking from the bay, the metro station is about 12 minutes walk away and the bus station is 3 minutes away, it also has a food market in front of the bus stop.||3. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful and speak good English. ||WIDELY RECOMMENDED!
Love the free parking at night. If the hotel supply car park is full, you can park by the road behind it. There’s no charge from 8pm~8am.
This hotel is just great, but the heater needs repair.
The room is 234.
Very nice and pleasant, the hotel reception gave us check-in early as we are reached there early. Nice and comfy bed
Overall it was very good 👍The room is clean and very convenient.
The hotel staff at the reception was polite. He was helpful too. Overall experience for the hotel is good.
The hotel is connected to a halal restaurant so muslims tourists can easily find a place to eat
Last minute booking , only get a single bed room,it is small but clean .
It's embarrassing that I make a reservation on Booking for 2 adults and 2 children, they give me 3 towels and when I ask for the one I'm missing, they tell me that they won't give it to me if I don't pay for it, that they receive the children but it really is a double room. three. So how do they allow you to make a reservation for 4 people? First hotel in all of Singapore and Malaysia where they denied me a towel even though I had made the reservation correctly. Very unpleasant and little help from the reception staff.|In addition, the hotel is quite far from the center. Grab from Gardens by the Bay to Champion Hotel costs 22 euros (in case it gives you an idea).
Completely satisfactory for the reasons why we chose it, i.e. a hotel not far from the metro, convenient for reaching the airport and relatively cheap. The hotel is in fact located about 5-10 minutes' walk from the green metro line, the one that allows you to reach the airport (on one side) and the center - if a center in Singapore really exists - on the other . Modern and tastefully furnished hotel, quite spacious room; bottle of water and toiletries available. Friendly and helpful reception staff, wifi working without problems in the structure. Possibility of luggage storage. Good value for money. Recommended for a visit to Singapore of a maximum of 2 nights, otherwise a more central hotel is preferable.
