Reviews of Champion Hotel City
A great budget friendly hotel with such strategic location in the city centre (access to MRT station and multiple bus stops by walk). Room quite cramped but equipped with nice amenities including private bathroom. Easy quick check in and check out. A must to check out the great balcony to linger or eat some meal especially in the early morning with such great view of city’s skyline and nearby park.
Cons: Bed linens is often not clean so better bring your own sanitizing stuff prior using. Balcony/rooftop is not maintained well so be cautious.
Great location, close to a couple different MRTs, lots of stuff within walking distance. Rooms are tiny (as expected), but the AC works well. Very thin walls, so expect to hear any noise from the hall and adjacent rooms. Hot water only worked intermittently over four days, so two of my showers were cold. Building a little run down (damaged carpet/walls in hallway, computer in lobby not working). Friendly staff
The room is cute and the design is space saving so it doesn't feel small. Still has everything you need, hairdryer, kettle, fridge, safe, etc. However you can tell it's a bit old, the wall beside the bed is drywall with wallpaper stuck over it, mold above the aircon which is quite noisy. Service is really like a budget hotel. We were told we can get late check out at 1pm and yet were chased out by a phone call at 1210 asking us to vacate by 1230. I mean, is it worth chasing out your paying customer over an extra 30 mins?
For the price point, I'm not complaining. Service at the front desk is good. The room that I had was small and functionable. Pillow was really comfortable. Air-con was cooling but noisy. Location is fantastic - you can literally walk anywhere within the CBD - from Chinatown, Clarke Quay and the Esplanade Theatres.
Hotel is very accessible to places like Clarke Quay, Funan Mall, Chinatown, Merlion Park and MRT's. The staff are attentive especially the one who works at night, and they have room cleaning service everyday upon request. I just wish that the room was well vacuumed, but overall I had a nice and relaxing stay. Great value for money as well.
Nice clean hotel with a good location (2-3 minutes from Clarke Quay A exit) with small rooms. My main complaint was the water heat in the shower. The tank must not have been that big because the water will change temperatures on you if you're in there for a couple minutes. It does definitely stay warm enough to take a comfortable shower as long as you remember to turn it on a ways before you plan on showering.
Would stay again, although there are definitely cheaper options if you can live with a shared bathroom.
Small room but well furnished. Clever use of storage. The elevators are super annoying at night. Trying to sleep, you would hear the elevator bell ding and wake you up every hour depending on how active the hotel guests are. I would not select this place as first preference. On the bright side it is cheap.
Great value for price taking into account Singapore prices. Well located.
The only downsides I can think of are:
- Super small rooms with little to no ventilation.
- The staff at the reception could be more helpful providing recommendations to the guests.
3,5 start to the hotel. The hotel has a good central location, friendly and helpful staff and most of them speak good English. The rooms a very small but You don’t need more space. The bathroom is a good size. The price is expensive.
Good place to stay in the heart of Singapore as solo traveler.
Room is clean, design is cute & they have a balcony with quite good view.
They have laundry & dryer machine.
Very nice hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Idk why, but they charged me 11S$ more a day than it was mentioned on their website. The location is super good and I enjoyed my stay here.
The location is very nice and near China town(2mins walk) where i can buy the ticket, food and exchange money. For my room there is a bit small but i like it because they setting the room enough for guest to stay and it clean cause they change towel everyday. They provide guest drinks which you can drink everytime such water, coffee, green tea, and milo when i tried from travel so i will drink before i go to my room. For people who want to smoke they have chill place for you at fifth floor where you can drink some beer and smoke so you see the view of garden and Singapore city.Im recommended!! if will come again
Simple cheap hotel in the center of Singapore. My room had no window but I knew that when I booked. If you don’t plan spending time in the hotel but exploring it’s great
As long as the bed is clean and free of bug, one plus, like the tiny details like pot of plants in the toilet, another plus, at the price like that for a night, third plusImprovement: the toilet paper holder is far too deep in
Easy check-in and great location! The double room was the perfect size for 1 maybe 2. Very cute decor in the lobby and the room. Would definitely stay again!
This place is on very good location, Everything is very close by, I just want to say that one bottle water per person for one day in not enough so if there is some water cooler type facilities it will be good other wise everything is great.
V small room with single bed. But everything works and the room was clean and tidy. Hassle free and close to Clarke Quay and Raffles Place
Nice hotel. Good size room, though desk is a bit small. Overall good stay
Clean and very close to MRT. Good base to explore nearby areas Clarke Quay/Boat Quay and City Hall.
Room was small, but cosy. They only have one check-in counter but the process was fuss free and service was good.
it was second time I went there. though room is small but look nice and the balcony was great also.
Small and compact opposite Hong Lim garden. Staff is friendly, air conditioning is cool.
For me I really love this place, not only cox it's comfortable but near to the MRT too & 7-11 just behind the building , small room suitable for 1person really its worth 👍
Had a pleasant stay at this hotel. They even allow early check in, which is very convenient.
Very close to mrt, nightlife and multiple malls. Fort Canning Park just across the river.
Nice small hotel with all the facilities needed. Clean and practical
Clean and basic room. Unbeatable location. Will come back again
Everything is good.. if only the tv is a smart tv
Clean and quiet place besides all the things you need just walking distance.
Room is small. But place is nice.
Clean and hygienic, great location. Will return again
Everything are ok ..location also nearby mrt Clark quay .
Very cosy and fun! Would go again
Clean room and next to clark quay MRT station.
Small clean hotel, conviniently located
Love it,clean and quiet.
Wonderful Stay & Great Staff...!!!
Awesome
Very good location
Good budget hotel
Great location
Nice location
Great hotel
I stayed here for two days and one night while traveling solo.
(Conclusion)
- Generally satisfied, but felt it was a bit pricey due to the weak yen.
(Pros)
- Convenient location with good transportation access.
- The room was small, but the facilities were satisfactory.
- Luggage storage was available before check-in and after check-out.
(Concerns)
- A sewage smell wafted from the shower booth drain.
- The shower water pressure was weak.
Considering we only had one room without a window, it was very, very small and cramped. It was perfectly adequate for one night, but I wouldn't stay there any longer. It was still a nice room, though. Furthermore, water was dripping from the ceiling.
Room and bathroom were clean and tidy. Shampoo, soap and drinking water are provided. The room was quite small, but that didn't bother us. The bed was comfortable, unfortunately there was no window so it was a bit stuffy. The AC was relatively loud and aimed directly at the bed; there was no “sleep mode”, so something disturbed my sleep. |The hotel staff is very open and friendly. Unfortunately it is not possible to have breakfast in the hotel, but there is a modern café right next door where you can have a wonderful breakfast.
The hotel is very well located. 5 minutes from Boat Quay for dinner or Chinatown. You can explore most of the tourist spots on foot and there is a subway on the corner if you want to take public transportation.||It is very modern and has a very nice decoration. The room has everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. It has a very nice internal patio with a terrace. The staff is very friendly, we requested an early check in and there was no problem. To recommend and repeat.
We booked this hotel for 3 nights for our Singapore city trip.||Positive:|- Central location right next to the high-rise buildings. It's only a few minutes walk to Rafflesplace (MRT) | - very friendly staff at the reception | - free water (2x 0.5l) | - well laid out room with little space | | Now to the negative: | I actually don't have high expectations of a hotel, but one thing should be feasible and that is CLEANLINESS. It felt like this room hadn't been cleaned for weeks, so there were lots of flies in the bathroom, strange hairs in the towels, lots of splashes next to the sink, dirty mirror, but most of all, the toilet was covered in urine splashes and there were still residues of feces on the outside of the toilet (See photos). For me, the latter has a lot to do with hygiene, which is why I wouldn't book this hotel again if I came to Singapore.||So if you're looking for a central hotel and don't attach much importance to cleanliness, this is a good choice.
I stayed here for three nights and loved it. The rooms are modern, there's always a friendly receptionist, and the location is very central on the river. Two metro stations and a restaurant and nightlife strip along the promenade are in the immediate vicinity. Yet far enough away that you can't hear anything at night. Yes, the rooms are very small, but I was out all day anyway, so it didn't bother me. The rooms are a bit noisy.
Ideal for a one-night stop and go, very pretty common areas, welcoming staff, small room without windows but that's normal in Singapore; fair price located 8 minutes walk from the metro.
Because I planned to drink at Clarke Quay in the evening, I chose a hotel within walking distance. It seemed to be renovated and the price was relatively acceptable. The reception staff could speak Chinese and were friendly. There was a free drink machine in the lobby. The mattress in the room has an elevated design. Suitcases and a small refrigerator can be placed underneath. However, the small refrigerator is not very cold. If you leave the bathroom light on when you sleep at night, it will be too bright, so you have to make your own choice.
Although there are no windows, the room is very compact and has all the essentials. || For example, the room itself is small, but the bed is quite high, so I found it convenient to be able to spread out large luggage underneath. || It's also close to Clarke Quay Station, and the Merlion is only a short walk along the river.
It's a little small, but a fairly nice hotel.
They also serve free drinks in the lobby on the first floor.
It's in a convenient location for getting around and is close to the station.
There are supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants within walking distance, so if you're only on a short trip, I think it's worth the small size of the room.
I traveled to Singapore again and chose this hotel this time because the room price was cheaper than other hotels in the same area. Stayed for four nights. The transportation is convenient and close to Exit A of Clarke Quay MRT station. The staff are polite, the room is clean and the space is practical. Toiletries and instant coffee and milk tea are also provided. High cost performance and worth choosing.
The room is small, without a window, but the location of the hotel eliminates all these minuses!!! Plus they checked us in early - just a huge thank you!!! Another minus - they didn't clean the room at all (the floor), they just changed the gel and towel. But the location of the hotel!!! - three metro stations nearby!!! - we used them all!!! very convenient!
The hotel definitely scores with its good location. Reception/service cannot really be rated. The room is clean and functionally well furnished, but it's difficult to stay in this narrow room without a window for more than two nights.
When you arrive at Raffles Place station from the airport, take Exit G and you will be able to go straight without getting lost.
Outlets: British-style only, no waiting lines Available for rent at the front desk
Plenty of power outlets desk 1 wall 1 floor 1
Cooler made by Daikin Too effective The room is at a reasonable temperature without an air conditioner
Lighting: 6 locations, very bright, each can be turned on and off
TV made by PHILIPS 32 inch HDMI input available Wall mounted and difficult to access
Equipped with pot (kettle)
Equipped with a refrigerator. As the reviews say, it is in a sealed area, so heat gets trapped. When the heat is released, it only gets a little cold, so it seems that the refrigerator originally had low refrigeration capacity.
Although the room has no windows, it is very clean and the walls have a good taste.
Although the room is not large, it is very functional and has a three-dimensional structure, so there is nothing to complain about. The interior design of the room is well-made, something that Japanese business hotels can often learn from.
There is a glass partition between the shower and the toilet, and the structure is well made and wonderful.
New disposable slippers Disposable intermediate type
Dryer wind heat strength
Mineral water (2 bottles replenished daily)
I'll repeat this, but I was impressed by the well-thought-out structure of the room, even though it was small.
The hotel is very clean, beautiful, fragrant, near MRT, near Marina Bay Sand. One minus point is that the room is small, the bathroom is too small, it is quite difficult to manage in such a small bathroom. The hotel is also equipped with shampoo, shower gel, 2 bottles of water + coffee + free packet milk tea.
Everything as described before.
Rooms are small but lovingly furnished to maximize space.
Very centrally located, subway station a stone's throw away.
Good cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, nicely designed room (although small and without a window), and close to public transport. Thumbs up
The air conditioner was too noisy and the sound insulation was poor. I was woken up by a loud sneeze from the uncle next door at 6 o'clock in the morning.
The location is convenient, just a two-minute walk from Chinatown and Clarke Quay MRT stations.
