A. G.Rooms are small but efficient. Free breakfast is a stampede and probably the main draw for all the tour groups that stay here. Staff are excellent. Area is worth exploring if you are adventurous
S. A.The hotel is great when things run smoothly, unfortunately, I had an incident that could be stressful for some.
I had an issue where my door lock was broken (no battery) and I had a meeting to attend to in an hour or so. The technician promised that he’ll be back shortly to “grab his laptop”, but he did not appear for 30 odd minutes, while I stood there waiting. I had to go down to the front desk and tell them that it’s unacceptable. It was resolved 5 minutes (by the front desk staff) after my complaint at the front desk, which made me wonder why the technician was not able to “grab his laptop” in that same amount of time. He did not even appear after he left me to grab his laptop.
The staff apart from the hotel technician was great, friendly and helpful. They even comp-ed my Grab ride to my meeting as an apology for the inconvenience.
I’d particularly like to commend the housekeeper (Ivy) on my floor, she’s such a sweet person and would go out of her way to help me, especially when she saw me waiting in front of the hotel door for the technician.
C. Y. T.I've had an amazing second time stay at Katong Holiday Inn. Their services were impeccable. Rooms were squeaky clean. Breakfast provided was excellent with a good variety of food. Service was very good. And it's in a very well located area where there are plenty of shops, amenities, cafes and restaurants. Laundry service was very convenient to use at the hotel too.
A. S.Good value hotel in Singapore. Despite being only 3 stars, I felt like they did not skimp on any services. Rooms are clean and spacious (for the price). The included breakfast is halal which is a plus, although I did not get to try it because of my early morning events. There’s also a gym and paid laundry. The location is pretty great as well, attached to a mall and surrounded by a ton of shops (and also other malls). Overall a great stay!
M.I am compelled to write this hotel up! Ok ok. Being a bit dramatic. Anyway, I am super impressed with this hotel. Location is superb with plenty of shops within short walking distance, room is spacious and clean comparable to 5 stars hotel. Check-out the shower cubicle! Service is to be expected of IHG's. Breakfast being halal is a plus point. It also has vegetarian option. The spread itself leaves you with lots of choices. Overall value for money despite not much frills from Express.
C.We really enjoyed our stay in Holiday Inn Katong.
Location was convenient and close to TEL line. It was also easy to get a bus anywhere. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We were initially thinking of booking a hotel near Clarke Quay for the convenience but we decided on Holiday Inn because of the reviews and the hotel looking relatively new. We’re glad we choose Holiday Inn though because the location was convenient as well. It was facing a quiet road so even when our room faced the street, we had a good night’s sleep.
Food at breakfast was superb. They had different choices everyday and you always had lots to choose from! When we went, we were told there were groups booked in the hotel at the moment so we might find it a little crowded but we didn’t find this an issue as there were always enough seats for everyone.
Facilities were also great. We used the gym and the laundry. (Tip: you need 7 SGD for washing and another 7 SGD for drying the clothes. You would use 1SGD coins). There was a currency converter machine in the hotel which we found really useful for using our remaining currencies from another country we visited.
The place was clean. They clean your room and change your towels everyday. Kudos to the cleaning team. It was a nice surprise to come back to our room after breakfast and seeing our bed made up, our towels replaced and new water bottles. This happened everyday we were there.
The rooms are a bit small but this is usual in Singapore. The shower we had was also a little see-through which may be an issue for those rooming with friends and wanting a little more privacy. Not sure if this is the same for all rooms though.
Overall, a good stay for us. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends visiting Singapore.

G.Quiet suburb of Singapore with transport nearby, the location was near the airport and activities I had planned.
The room was reasonably priced, clean and comfortable. The included breakfast buffet had a wide variety of food and beverages. The staff were excellent to deal with.
T. M.Holiday Inn was an enjoyable hotel for me and my family to stay in. The room was cozy and bright with a TV with many channels and the housekeepers were friendly and made the room neat and tidy. The shampoos and body washes were highly interesting like kale and parsley.The breakfast had an amazing variety of food to choose from like rock melon, marshmallows and gummies that my kids highly enjoyed. However, there was no pool and the kettle was exceptionally loud, making it quite inconsiderate.Overall, I highly recommend Holiday Inn and I will come back again!

엉.They had very good room and service but the location is not good like it is very far away from bus stop and subway which made me walk a lot. The street going to the bus stop was kind of dirty too.

S. A.I stayed there very recently for a business trip, it was everything a business hotel should have, clean rooms, cool AC, washroom was very tidy with all amenities including the water pipe. Staff was very helpful. The beach is like 10 kins walk.
Breakfast taste was not super, but its okay and it does not have an option of lunch/dinner. But the location is so full of restaurants that you dont really feel it, infact you would want to try different things every day. Taxi was also always good and efficient and yes wifi was also great.
Pro tip: i had a IHG card and so i was able to do a late check our at 2 pm which fitted my flight timing perfectly.
Κ. Σ.We stayed 2 days in Singapore. The rooms were spacious and cozy. The hotel is near bus station and you can go to the centre easily. The was only a bad smell coming from the bathroom, but it's ok. The reception guys were so cool and understanding, always to help us.
The only problem was the elevator, sometimes had been stuck.

There is laundry room and gym if you’re not interested in doing your workout in East Coast park nearby. Location is superb, everything is very close, convenient for public transport, food, drinks and shopping.
A.I enjoyed every bit of my stay at the Hotel ranging from the warm welcome at the front desk and comfortable rest for the night. Wash rooms were so clean and potable water to drink.

T. M.I recently stayed at this conveniently located hotel, close to various shops, bars, restaurants, and a mall. Although the room was on the smaller side, it was clean and manageable. However, I encountered an issue with a persistent odor in the bathroom that arose whenever I used the sink or shower. Additionally, I found it inconvenient that the AC couldn't be controlled from the wall. Despite these issues, overall, I was satisfied with my short stay.
O.The Hotel is clean and ambience nice. The rooms are clean and big for Singapore. Bathroom clean and the shower nice and wide. Breakfast is good and even for Europeans enough choice. Maybe the quality of the coffe is the only point to improve, but it was ok anyways

There is a laundry room in the hotel, 7 Singapore dollar to wash and the same price to dry. Clothes have been washed more nicely than what I had expected. There’s a gym too but quite small

Excellent staff, wonderful buffet breakfast spread, great rooms (super clean and compact) and the coolest location if you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy looking at some stunning heritage architecture, cool bars and interesting restaurants.

C.The hotel is perhaps the cheapest for IHG brand in Singapore. The rooms are not large, but clean. The breakfast was very good. A lot of fruit, and some local specialty. The bums were exceptionally delicious.
MRT station is far away, but there are multiple bus stops nearby, so travel by public transport is still manageable.
R.This hotel is in a convenient location, a quick taxi journey from Changi airport. the area has local shopping and food options. There is a new MRT station being constructed in the area so once this is open there will be a quick metro trip to central Singapore.
T. M.Room was a simple layout but still good nonetheless. Breakfast felt very crowded. But location wise, it’s in the middle of Katong so food options were aplenty.
S. S.Location was good. Rooms were smallish but well kept. And had all necessary amenities. Lobby had a fresh, orange juice juicer/ vending machine that was so cool. I visited in 2018.
P. D.Not close to an MRT station, which is a bit of a drawback but MRTs can't be everywhere. The shower door was a bit finicky with some water leaking out if a heavy spray of water was to hot the door. Also, the toiletries including were place above the commode, along with galsses for taking water - when you flush a toilet, quite a lot of droplets are formed and unless the toilet lid is closed, these go everywherre and land everywhere as well. Craws and Mainah birds interfere with outdoor dining but I suppose they have to make a living too !!!
M. C.It was for me a staycation. I booked late at night and the reception staff was kind enough to offer a room immediately.
It was a very pleasant experience from the reception desk to the room and back.
Not only was it sparkling clean and tastefully decorated, but it also had all the facilities for a VERY comfortable stay. The bed was exceptionally clean and soft, two types of pillows to choose from and a very nice duvet that kept you snug and warm.
I was impressed by the well thought design: the shower cabin is tempered glass round and spacious serving as a light feature in the room as well as a private space, the door has dual function, there’s also bidet shower, the details of the table, the swivel chair, useful little nooks and corners, subtle wall paper and nice headboard, effective day and night curtains, strong air conditioning (very useful in sunny East Coast), good water pressure in the shower, pleasant soap and shampoo, a small fridge, an electronic locker, a radio clock, land line telephone, GOOD internet connection.
The cleaning lady was exceptionally accommodating, polite and tactful, offering water and coffee, making sure I have all that I needed.
In the lobby the decorations are also very delicate and calming, a leaf pattern of some kind, repeated on the blind panels that cover the breakfast serving equipment. There are shady terraces around the lobby, sheltered from the sun by either umbrellas or blinds, vending machines with refreshing orange juice or Starbucks coffee, a well stocked bar with snacks and drinks, a gym, a meeting room.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to sample the breakfast which i have no doubt is very good.
One can also order in room dinner from a restaurant just downstairs with excellent menu.
My stay was short. As a local, I was called for other duties, but I must say that this hotel is EXACTLY what I am looking for when I travel: not frills I pay but never use or debatable service.
The balance between what you get and what you pay is there.
I read the legitimate satisfaction in the eyes of the receptionists when I shared my views. They take pride in their work.
To tell the truth, the whole atmosphere invites the visitor to maintain that pristine environment, without abusing it while enjoying what it has on offer. It is so refreshing to live minimalistic yet happy for a change without the clutter that many of us might have at home.
The hotel surroundings are also very pleasant. As I live on a different side of Singapore there was a lot for me to discover. The i12 mall nearby has a lot of interesting shops and restaurants. The whole stretch of East Coast Road is bursting with opportunities for shopping, dining, health and fitness.
The location is not central, yet well connected. But there’s a lot to do around, less crowded than Orchard maybe, closer to the beach and very sunny.

T. W.Recently stayed in a queen size room for 2 night, the room is clean and tidy, free Wi-Fi, breakfast and also free to use facilities like gym, meeting rooms. However, I found there is 1 wierd design of the wash room, there is only 1 share door for entrance shower area and entrance to toilet bowl area, it flip 90 degree either to close the entrance to toilet area or to shower area only, meaning it is suitable for 1 person use, otherwise, it will leave open for either 1 area you choose. Other than this, the location is 6 to 7 bus stations from MRT station, a bit tired of waiting for the bus, otherwise you can walk around nearby, there are a lots of Restaurant with nice foods, shopping centre nearby and bar if you would like to have a drink with your friends. Customer service is fast but the staff could speak louder and slower because the mouth is cover by mask, can't hear what he said clearly.

S.Located in Katong, a laid back area in Singapore, this hotel fits my expectations of a relaxing stay. The beds are very comfortable to sleep in (I overslept twice!), guest services are great and a lot of places to get food. Prices are reasonable for the rooms as well.

The hotel was adjacent to a shopping mall which offered a range of range cuisine. Overall experience is definitely worthy of 5 stars !

A.Too good experience. I will come again and stay in this hotel only in Singapore. Loved the orange juice. Laundry service is affordable. Great staff who are always ready to help. Superb breakfast. Only thing please provide a good Indian veg dish. All vegetarians will be very happy. Provide alatch inside the washroom. Cleanliness of the room was excellent. Housekeeping had done a wonderful job. We were provided with early check in that to free. We were also provided with locker facility for luggage to be kept on the day of leaving and that helped us a lot as our flight was in the evening 8 PM. The area is little far from MRT but it's ok as we were eight of us and hence taxi was affordable. Further we used the bus service also. The giant out let and miniso was very near for shopping. That was a surprise.

T. M.What a great hotel ! Nipping clean, really modern, lovely comfortable bed, great location, couldn’t fault it . If I was being picky I would have liked bacon and proper sausage and fried eggs for my breakfast however what was offered was of great quality and international food ( bit of Indian food bit of Asian food but of European )
B.The hotel manager is super nice and always accommodative to requests. Very comfortable rooms fast wifi decent breakfast. With no room service, have a better choice of quick bites or a mini pop-up cafe. The verandah must be put to better creative use. A small area with sofas or more comfortable seating would be nice.
A.Holiday Inn Express is a thoughtful hotel. There is a trolley at the door of the hotel so you can use it with your luggage . The reception is at the 7th floor - but don't worry there are lifts that you can use with 1-2 minutes waiting time! the receptionist are warmly smiling but very focused of their work. the rooms are cute - size, pillows, tv, coffee maker, free water and clean bathroom. They have laundry facilities and my favorite - Grab and Go! if you don't have time for breakfast, no problem - you can take a cup of coffee with you with a cake and fruit! so thoughtful!

A.The room interior is clean and well lit. The bathroom is fresh and clean, the towels are new and dry. The corridor is also bright. The mattress and pillows are cozy and the bed sheets are clean and neat. The complimentary tea and coffee bags in the mini bar are adequate. The continental breakfast meals are fresh and plentiful. The attending staffs are nice and helpful.The frontdesk staffs are quick and courteous.
L.Location is convenient. Service is excellent, Ms Sikin was very friendly and helpful with the check in process. Upon understanding that it's my colleagues' first trip to SG, she also volunteered to check in on him after he was more settled in his room. Amenities were fuss free to locate.

l.We stayed in June, 2018 ,for 4 nights.Starting from checkin till checkout everything went well. Good and friendly front desk. Large seating area for breakfast with quick service. We specially liked the coffee machine with variety of brewing options during breakfast. It is located Near to Kantong Mall and local Market and a 15 minutes stroll to Eeast coast beach. Overall a nice experience and is recommended, if you are looking for a cosy and peaceful stay in Singapore.
I hope a swimming pool will be deployed soon.
T. M.The hotel is very nice and clean , the breakfast is good , I am a coffee drinker and the coffee wasn’t very good , the Starbucks coffee service was always out of cups , the location is very good , close to shops and restaurants
F.Overall cleanliness was superb. I liked the location. No fuss check in and check out. The buffet breakfast offered variety in terms of beverages and choices of bread/croissants. It was also near a HSBC ATM. We found one 1 block from the hotel. There was breadtalk nearby. The orange juice vendo was also another thing that I enjoyed to get our vitamin C fix.
A.Nice clean and well maintained hotel rooms. Staff is nice. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Toilets and bathrooms are well kept. Bed and pillows are very comfortable.
Only sometimes at night I could hear some noise from the next room when I was sleeping on the bed. Also there are very few channels in the TV. No Hindi channels of course :(.
But overall it was a very nice stay..
W.In addition to a superb hotel stay experience, the location of the hotel is also a huge plus - near the airport, near the Peranakan centre of Joo Chiat, and a 7-min walk to Parkway Parade mall. It will be boosted by the opening of the new subway station in the next few years behind the hotel.
K.Stayed three nights and the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and bedding comfortable but the rooms were small. A good variety for the inhouse breakfast. Location fairly good with cheap eating places very close to the hotel.
P.No real door to bathroom, but you can use the shower door to act as one. You can still see the outline of the person though. Okay if you are by yourself, but not when you have someone else. Breakfast fruit options were good, but the cooked food was standard like 3-star hotels. Free phone with data was a nice touch for this hotel price range, but the phone was too big with a 6 inch screen and the Acquosa phone isn't that great. Overall, the hotel was a very good value. I just didn't like how the breakfast crew cared more about restocking the food than about my experience with breakfast: I felt like I was in their way. No MRT stations nearby, but a few train stations within a 5 minute walk.
S.My overall experience at Holidayinn Express was good. The location is perfect to go out for drinks and dinner. It is about 20 minutes to the train station but there are few buss on the main streets and it is closes to the Airport.
The hotel reception is not easy to find and there is no sign to direct you to the 7th floor and the lift also has no clear indication. I like the garden but I wish it has nicer bar to hung out in the evening.
The room I have stayed is clean and comfortable but I wish it had bath than just shower.
B.The room is cleverly designed so it did not feel small at all and has everything you need for a perfect sleep - comfortable bed, soft blanket, pillows and aircon. The showers are really powerful. We wished there’s a dim toilet light that we could leave on during the night and if only the gym is bigger and fully air conditioned. Still, a highly recommended place to stay in Katong and we’ll be back.
E.We love our stay here. We were travelling with our elderly mother with limited mobility and requested connecting rooms upon booking, and Ashley (i think that's her name) was very helpful, making sure we get exactly those without too much waiting. The free breakfast were sufficient enough to start our day. Very comfortable bed and good internet speed.

J. S.My visit was a spur of the moment stay after a 16 hour fligjt. They had a room available and it was an amazing experience. Bed was comfy and the staff friendly. About 15 minutes from the airport. Only stayed for a single night but would definitely recommend it.

Not really close to a MRT station but as recommended by the hotel reception bus line #10 brought us within 10 min at Dakota MRT circle line to downtown Singapore. The reception staff was one of the best I ever experienced.

t.Nice hotel for business traveller who is planning to just spend the night at the hotel. Location is nice. Only drawback that I felt was non availability of lunch and dinner. Also the variety in breakfast was not up to the mark. Staff are very friendly and pleasant.
C.When we arrive we experienced good hospitality and nice ambiance. When we went in the room and calling for front desk, room service ... nobody attended any calls during stay. Not a god idea for family travellers, when we need something and staff said you have to come down at reception because they don’t have anyone for service... from Holliday inn we haven’t expected this !

M. L.The bathroom has poor drainage and the room is poorly soundproofed, but the breakfast in the hotel is good and the surrounding restaurants and shopping malls are OK.
Y.Direct access from Changi Airport via MRT (Singapore Metro) is not possible. The nearest station is Dakota Station (CC8), which is about 5 minutes by bus or taxi. If you are taking a bus, it is a few minutes walk from the ``Parkway Parade'' bus stop on line 36. If you don't have a good sense of direction, we recommend taking a taxi from Changi. (About 2000 yen + α with Grab)
To access famous sightseeing spots, you first need to use a bus or taxi. In other words, access to the MRT station is not at all good.
There are no issues with cleanliness, staff service, breakfast, housekeeping, view from the room, or surrounding area. There are shopping malls and several hawkers, so you won't have any trouble finding food.
Especially the staff are all smiling and cheerful.
This is a highly recommended hotel for those who want to keep their accommodation costs down, but who cannot compromise on a comfortable stay, but who can compensate for poor access with the ``Bus Buddy'' app.

I stayed here for a three-day weekend in November.
Check out was smooth and this is my second time using the hotel.
The room is compact and clean.
There are many restaurants in the surrounding area, and i12 mall is also nearby.
Approximately 9 minutes walk from Marine Parade MRT (TE26). Convenient for shopping and sightseeing.
You can also go for a morning run at East Coast Beach.
T. M.I was worried because many of the reviews said it was old, but it was cleaner and had better facilities than the Boss Hotel I stayed at before. And it was nice because it was so quiet. The staff were all friendly. Of course, it was even better because breakfast was included. There wasn't that much to eat, but it was great for free breakfast.
h. 6.A very clean and nice hotel! The view of Singapore from the roof terrace alone is breathtaking. The infinity pool is also located on the roof terrace. The staff is very nice and takes care of your every wish!
