Reviews of Hotel Royal Queens
This hotel offers exceptional service, combining comfort and elegance for a truly memorable stay.. Its prime location makes it perfect for exploring the city’s attractions or enjoying a peaceful retreat.only rooms all the windows were locked,I don’t know why maybe this is Singapore rules.
Anyway I like this hotel and places.
MRT Bras Basah within steps is such a plus point!
I can access to Suntec Convention Centre for Congress with ease, just 1 stop away!
Clean room and pleasant stay, minor drawbacks are breakfast arrangements and booking not tally with online records. Otherwise great value for money.
The hotel is good, rooms are good but the housekeeping service is just not good. After repated request also they don't clean your room in your absence. 3 days, same bedsheet and bed cover. The bathroom is not cleaned properly and is very unhygienic to use bath tubs. Have told the front office multiple times they just say yes and then they don't bother about it.
They are a bit bias too, if you check in at 9pm you don't get welcome fruits tray of you checkin in the morning till noon you get welcome fruits, sick customerservice.
We asked for body lotion they said they don't have, same lotion they provided after 4 days.
Location wise decent. No Indian food, the kitchen staff is non accomadating if you check in at 9pm and if their kitchen is closed they will not make anything for you, seeing a child also they don't consider
They need to work on their staff attitude and services
Good location in the quite area of Bugis. Just few walks from Bencoolen (DT21) MRT station, and also walkable from Bugis Street. I booked Executive Double Room which quite spacious and comfortable. Check in process also smooth, fast and efficient. Overall this hotel is worth to stay.
Haryan is an amazing doorman ! He's really friend and kind. He helping me with luggages and guiding me to room !!!
The location is great, 18 mins walk to suntec center, food restaurants are around the hotel, seven eleven right behind hotel !
A nice comfy hotel in a quite area but easy walk to orchard Rd and shops ,transport and food options .
Room was good size with a firm mattress great tv with english channels and movies. Good breakfast would definitely stay again.
A very prime location for tourists who want to walk around the Bugis area, and also near an MRT station for those who wish to go further.
Hotel decor was a bit dated but cleanliness was on point. Staff was also friendly and accommodating.
Our second staycation within a year to this hotel. Just love the location and connecting rooms. Front office staffs are hospitable and warm.
I had a awesome time here . Warm reception. Great breakfast buffets every morning which had a good mix of Asian and continental food. The pool was beautiful and always clean. The location is also very close to the metro , which is definitely a plus and also very close to lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable and beautiful. And the view from my room was so beautiful, especially at night ..
Would definitely recommend.
I had a wonderful stay
A comfortable stay. The swimming pool is really clean. The service was good.
The hotel is well located in the city centre and a short walking distance to city hall MRT station. The hotel should provide at least one bottle of drinking water and buffet breakfast at S$25 is of limited choices. Please consider increase the price of buffet breakfast to about S$35 or S$40 to provide more varieties.Other than that the hotel is good for business or holiday travellers.Cheers.
Absolute fantastic. I was worried about the location and comfortability of the hotel but it was excellent. My room was clean, comfortable and cozy among with amenities which are great. The service was a big win with being very helpful and friendly. When it comes to location it maybe a little quiet based on your preference but it is close to metro station making everything pretty much a walking distance. Overall the food, swimming pool etc were great!. Defenitely recommend👍
A good stay. Room very comfortable & clean. Smells good too. Based on the room I got, it was clean. A bit old style, with dim lights. But spacious & huge bed. Good facilities & amenities. Nearby location from Beach road. Have motorbike parking under the same building. Staff are less efficient. Nobody attend you, unless you need to go find them, and even you stand there in front them, they don't welcome & initiate to assist. But they were friendly. It's could be the time with more customers. Room rates are reasonable. Easy check in and check out. I was happy to see the checkout time was at noon but not earlier. Thanks for giving a happy experience staying here.
Great location , walking distance to all the main attractions. Excellant staff.
The management need to look at updating this hotel, I got put into a room a where the air con wasn’t working, and it was smelly, we got moved into another room which was better than the last one but it needed a good clean, the showers has mould on the sides and the carpet was wet in some areas, 5 stars for staff though especially David he is a great asset to this hotel, he went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible, if it wasn’t for him we probably would have gone somewhere else.
Had two nights at this hotel this weekend. The location is close to perfect. Very central and close distance to everything you need, and public transport is easy to use just by tapping your card.
The room was large, the beds were good. The standard in the room, and especially bathroom was a bit “old”, and should probably been renewed. The breakfast was okey, several options and good drinks, but the breakfast “room” was impersonal and noisy.
Stayed at Hotel Royal @ Queens from 18/12/23-22/12/23. Very nice hotel, neat, tidy and staff were very friendly. Bed was bit hard for me but that is my issue. Have to give a mention to one particular employee who was so nice and was a joy to come across each time I seen him. Made me feel so welcome and comfortable that if I return I will come back because of his attitude and professionalism. Aaryan you were amazing and Thank you so much, this hotel has really got an asset in you and I appreciate all your help and service.
The location of this hotel to be excellent, as it's only about a three-minute walk from the subway station. The service was also decent, with someone helping us with our luggage to our room during check-in and providing an introduction to the facilities in the room. However, a downside was that they didn't provide complimentary bottled water, and the breakfast selection wasn't very extensive.
Little bit old, but functionality is fine, business trip is fine, just in and out. Rooms were fine, bed was comfy, room was clean, housekeeping were good.
Breakfast was basic, better off getting your own brekkie outside to be honest. But one staff member who welcomed me at brekkie was the best out of the whole hotel.
Reception staff are the most grumpy, if you dont like your job then dont work in Customer Service. They begrudingly gave me a 1pm check out when I asked how much a late check out till 5pm would be they wanted to charge me 125% of my daily room rate, I was tired because I was a little bit unwell and just wanted to rest before my flight. Ended up just going to the airport.
I was given a connecting room and I could hear the other guy so clearly having his phone conversation at night when he got home. And also when he was snoring. I can only imagine what other people would hear if they were engaged in other things.
Otherwise the hotel is fine, would like to check out the pool but no time. If there are really no other options close to my office then I would probably choose this place again and make sure I dont get a connecting room
The rooms are nothing spectacular however they are comfortable and clean enough. The hotel is less than a 1 minute walk from the Bras Basah MRT stop and it will get you ANYWHERE you need to go. Only 5/10 minute walk to raffles as well.
This hotel is at a good location. Is within walking distance from Bugis and Bencoolen station. Is a relatively old hotel but guess they did some renovation recently but not to the AC. Air con is old and is making noise as well as not cold. The room size is relatively big compared to some of the newer hotels in Singapore. No bottled water in the room.
Very enjoyable stay, Hotel is just 3 minutes walk to Bras Basah MRT Station and 5 minutes to Bugis Junction despite being tucked in a quiet street. Room is clean, well maintained and classy, almost like a 4 star hotel. Only downside is no mineral water provided. Other than that it's worth every penny at this price range.
We had no negative experience in the hotel. It is conveniently situated near an MRT station and it is also less than a kilometer away from a shopping centre.
Had a wonderful stay and my compliments on your excellent service especially to Jaya of Concierge who was very helpful and sensitive to my needs as I’m mobility limited person who uses a wheelchair for certain times in the day
We stayed for a month. It was a decent hotel. Staff were friendly. However when we checked in to our room, it had pungent smell of cigarettes although it mentioned non smoking hotel. Also you can see cockroaches running around. We requested the house keeper to clear the smell and we were told to come back in an hour.
Location wise was superb. We hardly took any taxis during our stayed as trains and buses were so near and convenient. Food court, hawkers, cafes, restaurants etc within walking distance.
Overall if you are not a fussy guest, this is the hotel you can consider.
we
Good location! Situated 2 min walk from Bras Basah mrt exit A. Quiet and safe location. Rooms are clean, bed is very comfortable. Strong water pressure for the shower, and bathtub was provided with anti-slip rubber mat. Air-conditioning is cold, strong wifi, and working tv. Could be better if bottled water is provided in the rooms since room is quite pricey.
Excellent location nearby bugis st walking distance to mrt station.very comfortable rooms by singapore standard large size with big TV.fridge.tea coffee kettle.staff are helpful specially Aryan from the bell desk.
Air conditioner was a bit cold and the controller seems not working to adjust the temperature. Room is clean but condition not so ideal, found small cockroaches at the toilet in the midnight. Hotel staffs were very helpful and friendly. Perfect location, walking distance to various MRT stations. Overall satisfied with the stay for the money we paid.
Room 731
Breakfast time: 7:00 - 10:30
Late check-out time: 13:00
The hotel is located near a MRT station. Feels quiet around the area because of the churches around. Bugis street and Funan mall were the places we considered when booking this hotel.
The hotel didn't have complimentary drinking water. I arrived thristy, and honestly was disappointed about it. (A bottle or two would've been nice.) For travelers who are used to a "handheld" bidet sprayer, our room, and i'd assume all their rooms, do not have them.
The variety on the breakfast buffet was decent. We left our luggages with their team after checking out to able to go somewhere before our evening flights.
Stayed 2 nights in one of their bathtub rooms at 11th floor. Room 1131 to be exact. Firstly I don’t know why I see complaints about the aircon not being cold enough. My room was FREEZING and I loved it! TV was clean and room was decently spaced. Old hotel perks I guess. I found the cleanliness more then acceptable too. And I’m not very picky also so Yeap stay was good. The beds were a tad on the soft side. And no bottled water, but all these ain’t biggies.
Toilets, the toilet houses my only major complaint. The lack of bidet to use after my big business. That’s one big downside 😕 walls were acceptably clean, bath tub was great and water pressure good and constant warm water too.
Buffet breakfast could be improved tho. It gets the job done but for local singaporeans I think go nearby Coffeeshop eat meepok w Kopi will be more satisfying 😂
All in all, recommended for staycay, the location is a big plus. Near to mrt near to malls, coffee shops and bluesg cars too!
Good location. Room had all the amenities including tea/coffee, mini fridge and electric kettle. Staff is polite and cooperative. Communication needs improvement as I requested some changes a day before checkin but I didn't get any response from the hotel. I understand 11th hour requests aren't guaranteed to be addressed but a response (at least a yes or no) is always helpful.
Looks typical from outside but they may have recently revamped the interiors. The toilets in guest rooms kept the 90s style of bathtub and shower at same spot with a shower curtain separating it and the sink area. Very nice TV and channels in the room. Pillows are a little too soft to our family liking, but it has nice views of the city which makes up for it. (stayed at level8)
Other than there leak bathtub, everything else were very good. Good clean room with clean linen. Nice city view. Good Buffet Breakfast. Just beside MRT station(Bras Basha) and Buggis street in just a 5 mins walk. Will stay here again if visit singapore.
Great location, staff were helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable, breakfast was average but ok. Would stay again.
There is a old guy in restaurant who was not in mood to work or something wrong with his mental state it seems. he was literally yelling at guests during breakfast time.
Overall pleasant stay. However booking was made was for King size bed, but was disappointed that they were unable to accommodate or even replace with Queen size bed during check in. Was given 2 single beds and no complimentary bottled water provided also.
👍🏼 Recommended
Very clean. And it was so comfortable staying here.
Great location, walking distance to Bugis centre and the hotel is located next to the MRT.
Price: Quite expensive. Sgd600 ++ per night for a twin beds room
Service: Friendly - the bell boy is so helpful
Cleanliness: 4 stars
Given the amount I paid for, it exceeded my expectation. I stayed for half a month. Room was clean. No mold or cockroaches. Staffs were friendly, from the housekeeping staffs to the security guards. Location was awesome. The only thing is aircon was too cold and couldn't be adjusted.
oh yes. Good location hotel. The room is spacious. Not too bad compared with pre visit picture on google.
The room is clean and the staff is pleasant. I will look forward to revisit if the price keep the same rate.
I booked an executive room. Check in was very fast and easy. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Warm welcoming.
The room >
It was quite okay but kinda dirty. There was hair on the bathtub and ants inside the glass at pantry & also inside the kettle. The aircon really needs to be fixed it wasn’t getting cold at all they out my entire stay :(
The bed was fine, no stains or dirt.
The internet connection was good 😌
The view was amazing, we were given our requested high floor room so very happy about that.
It’s a good place for getaway!
The room lights are operated by touchscreen panels which is very cool.
Overall 8/10 👍🏼
Easy to find food.. walk to right is bugis, walk to the back is plaza singapura .Near mrt stationVery convenient to go anywhere.. staff very friendly. Just that ask for queen size bed but given two single bed as hotel is full house.
Great location with shopping centres, hawker centres and markets close by. Also very close to MRT which was extremely easy and cheap to use. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. A special mention for Jaya, the concierge, who could not do enough for you and was always smiling.
Large rooms. Well appointed.
Definitely need an update but comfortable.
Best spot for the living. Close to everything.
Pool is okay but needs more shade
Great location, reasonable price! Staff friendly! Breakfast buffet is good! Changes daily! Central located!
Big room and comes with bath tubCarpet is a bit sticky probably prev guest spilled something but oversll suprr good location and big room size no complaint
Good economy option to stay for our 2-night stopover. Beds were not so good. Service was. Even though there's no guarantee, we could enter our room early in the morning already. Street itself and directly around not that interesting. But within walking distance from hop-on hop-off bus stop and starting point, subway stations that take you to all the best places quickly and safely.
Location is best, close to mrt bras basah only 50m. Breakfast is enough, staff is helpful. Overall pleasant stay👍
1 night staycay with the family! We booked 4 rooms. Staffs super friendly, room neat and clean. Near bugis and places of interest ard. Very convenient to just walk leisurely around. Downside is climbing stairs from carpark to level 1 .. very steep steps not convenient for senior citizens.
I stay here every year from December 27th for two weeks. From the first day they treated me like family. The hotel is exactly in the location that I want to be when visiting Singapore. It is clean and neat. Every request was cheerfully dealt with and promptly attended to. The staff from the concierge, front desk, room service, maid service and restaurant are extremely polite and attend to every detail pleasantly. I always get the room that includes breakfast because, though not high end, they have everything that should be included in a Western or Eastern breakfast. It's all you can eat buffet style with eggs cooked to order. I will be happy to return there again this year. In all of Singapore you cannot match the Hotel Royal @ Queens for this price.
The stay has exceeded my expectation. We knew it was an old hotel but was pleasantly greeted by a clean and pretty new looking lobby, restaurant and lobby. The helpful staff replied me that there was a renovation than a year ago. The Executive Twin room size is bigger than the JB hotel such as KSL, and it comes with a bathtub. For elderly guests, you might want to call in 5o check if they have rooms without the bathtub as getting in and out may be challenging during shower. I had a good soak.
Plenty of food nearby and walking distance to Bugis, Fort Canning, Clarke Quay etc. Thank you and I'll return for another staycation
Very good hotel experience, very good location, warm staff and good food, really loved the experience in hotel Royal, the location was the biggest plus and also the rooms and bathrooms wer really well maintained
The service to check in was a disaster. It takes too long to check-in. Don't ever check in with JR the check-in staff. He is not helpful and loves to delay the process of check-in.
The hotel was really basic compared to the hotels we have been to. It was definitely clean and the service was good but the building and rooms are just wearing off already and it would need renovation.
But said that compared to the price we paid for two connecting rooms was affordable when considering this is in Singapore.
The excellent with this hotel is that there is two metro stations right next to it 'Bras Basah - yellow circle line' and 'Bencoolen - Blue downtown line'
I've been quite sometime seldom experience the welcoming gesture from the front at lobby in Spore staycation.
Yesterday, we have experienced the warmth welcome the moment we have stepped in the lobby. The guy name Jaya left us an awesome friendliness and serve us with great passion. He shared the nearby food and his initiative to serve us has amazed our attention.
The room is big at 28 m², nice bathtub and giant super king size bed. Only such staycation with old school style has such luxury especially at the price we are paying. The location is few steps away from Bras Besah Circle line station, and just 5 mins stroll to Bugis area.
This is a great and relax staycation with quiet street and environment.
Once again, thanks to the great team at the front line like the reception, Mani and Jaya.
5 stars service with passion and commitment for their job.
The bed is itchy. I tried sleeping on the other bed but the condition worsened. Could be bed bugs. Please make sure to clean the blankets and sheets regularly.
The rooms vary in size. Some are more spacious, others are not. Things in the bar include coffee, creamer, sugar and tea. Cups are provided. But, these cups may not be cleaned thoroughly at all times.
Necessary things provided in the bathroom are, towels, lotion, liquid bath soap and bar soap.
The roms are clean but may not be cleaned well at all times.
Everything is okay. But the swimming pool timing is ridiculous. Check in at 2pm swimming is not allowed by the time we check in. The malay petite lady staff is very friendly she get along well with my son.
Very happy with the hotel stay. Location is perfect, amenities and service are great. Awesome!
Found a lot of cockroaches (two large and many small ones) in the room. Otherwise decent hotel.
Given 2single Bed joint together, made me upset.Room was not up to my expectation which not my first time book this hotel.Have book early, was told fully book all rooms.Others, no comment.Thank you.
Surround the hotel there are places of interests, shopping, restaurants and fastfoods. All walking distance, you can get cheap local foods at walking distance max 15 minutes. What else can I ask for at $165 per night. Rooms are decently design and cozy. Nice scenic view, only setback no free wi-fi.
Recently went to hotel royal for a wedding. The menu was great, service was average. They should definitely do a check on their electrical supply or system as there was a power outage during the wedding dinner for a good 5 min.
Excellent location near Bras Basah MRT station. Good clean hotel. Attentive staff.
Good variety of food for breakfast.
Good room size and not too expensive. 4 min walking distance to bugis mall. I might return
I had good experience with this hotel, price so affordable and good location if you looking quite place for rest
Great place to stay as the rooms are super spacious for a single person as compared to other business hotels. Great service and good food served here.
Not the best place in Singapore, but a good quality/cost ratio.
Wifi very slow
Overall still ok. Only downside is that swimming pool and gym are closed and was not informed or display upon booking .
The apps should not show the stated facilities pictures if they are not available which is quite misleading.
Very good value
It's the best value for money. We rented a connecting room and it was great for 3 people to stay. There were two bathrooms, so I had a good rest. It was convenient as public transportation (subway and bus) was only 1-2 minutes away. Taxis were also convenient to use.
Stayed here 2 nights with my children and husband
Very comfortable, spacious rooms and clean
Close to MRT, bus stop, food court and Bugis junction
Gallon water is available near the room
Breakfast is delicious and varied
The staff is very friendly, especially Mr. Sangzri who gave a complimentary birthday
It is very close to the MRT station (Bras Basah station) and has convenient transportation. It is not far from the Little India District and the Arabian District.
Voltage stabilization from staff, room system, service, amenities, ok. 8/10
The nearest MRT station to the hotel is
Bras Basar station. Since it's in the center of Singapore, the cost performance is lower than in Kuala Lumpur, but I think it's still a good hotel.
The interior decoration and furniture of the room are comfortable enough for your needs. There is a water cooler on each floor, so it would be helpful if you had an empty plastic bottle with you.
Basically, I can't understand Japanese.
However, even with broken English, the staff will respond kindly.
They will kindly store your luggage after check-out and arrange taxis to the airport. I was also told about a delicious bak kut teh restaurant.
If you exit the hotel and walk to the right, there will be a shopping center and night market, so you won't have any trouble shopping.
Although the hotel is not very new, the service is good and the location is very good. The price/performance ratio is very high. I stayed for five nights in a row and felt 100% satisfied. Near Bugis, convenient for shopping, leisure and dining.
For a check-in at 7:00 am instead of 2:00 pm I had to pay an additional 120 SGD, which I still somewhat understand. Then not being allowed to eat breakfast without paying extra is a shame. Nice clean room.
The hotel is well located to then visit the typical places of Singapore. The rooms are spacious and well-kept. The breakfast is not much, and you have to go early to avoid problems with seating, since there are not many tables.
An excellent hotel in a central location, very convenient to the metro. Very friendly and helpful staff, a bit of renovation in the room wouldn't hurt. The free water vending machines on the floor are much appreciated
Centrally located, within walking distance of the main attractions.
Metro stop within 3 minutes.
Spacious room, bathroom with bathtub.
Magnificent view, breakfast buffet.
The breakfast selection is plentiful, there is a drinking water machine in the corridor upstairs. Hot and cold.
We were provided with 2 rooms for 3 people and 2 bathrooms, so it was very comfortable and nice! Even though I arrived around 2 a.m., the guidance was friendly and the location was great as there were many places within walking distance.
Went with my partner for a 3D2N staycay.Location (5/5): Excellent location, in the middle of three MRT stations (Bras Basah, Bencoolen & Bugis). Within walking distance to Bugis St/Junction/+ (7 min walk) so food and shopping is very accessible.Cleanliness (2/5): Room and toilet is..clean enough. Within expectations of a barely 4-star hotel. Room is cleaner than the toilet, well-kept, organized and no visible stains/dirt. The toilet however is noticeably more worse for wear, but not that bad to the state where you'll be disgusted by it. Lights near the mirror weren't functioning properly as well (one was just spoilt, can't turn on and the other kept blinking). How do I put this.. if this was your toilet in your HDB flat you mostly should be okay with it. However, you're paying for a room in a 4-star hotel and not staying in your flat, so it would have been nicer to see a higher standard of cleanliness. Now if you're thinking "that doesn't sound that bad, why the 2/5 for cleanliness?" Mainly because we found baby cockroaches in all 3 days of our stay there. If it wasn't for the cockroaches, the cleanliness would be a solid 4 or 5. So there's that, might be an isolated incident that depends on your luck, but the fact that it can happen and that there are 1 or 2 reviews which also mentioned the presence of cockroaches, you can take that into consideration before booking a room here.Service (4/5): Staff was polite and approachable enough. Housekeeping staff forgot to take away our old pillow cases after daily housekeeping however, but no big deal for us.Facilities (4/5): We came here mainly due to the fact that we were looking for a hotel with a pool and bathtub at an affordable price, and the facilities were good enough in serving their purpose. The pool and gym are relatively small however (pool was barely two lanes and the "gym" is basically a small room with 3 machines), so do take note of that if you care about the sizes and comfort while using said facilities.Overall: Decent stay that was mostly ruined by the presence of cockroaches. For it's price, everything was within expectations (except for the cockroaches). A queen-sized bed was unavailable for us as well, and instead we got a combined double single-bed which was good enough for us. If you do not mind risking and compromising for amenities you might not want (queen-sized bed) and not getting a room of questionable cleanliness (there are other reviews who have mentioned rooms in worse state than ours), or the possibilities of having cockroaches in your room (yes, I keep mentioning it because it really was the reason why the cleanliness rating is so low), then perhaps you should keep clear of this hotel.
