Reviews of ibis budget Singapore Joo Chiat
Stayed here recently. Decent triple room for the family. Very quiet room because window was kept permanently shut from outside noise. There were at times noise from doors slamming occasionally from the corridor. The bathroom was very clean and great water pressure for the shower.
The service is prompt and staff are always accommodating to any issues. All my interactions with staff were positive.
Good location as food eateries are everywhere especially Vietnamese food. There are nearby malls as well. There is a supermarket ( ColdStorage) within walking distance and a 7 Eleven as well for all your essentials.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a decent stay at a reasonable price in the East Coast/ Joo Chiat area.
We stayed at this hotel during our 24 hr layover in Singapore. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was close to a lot of restaurants around Joo Chiat and plus points that it's near a bus stop. It was also easy to pin it on the Grab app.
The room is not super big, but passable if you're only looking to sleep or rest, just like us. The bed itself is comfy, but the pillows smell musty. The only chair in the room also has a lot of stains on it.
The bathroom was clean, but I just wish there is hand soap by the sink. The only thing in the bathroom is a dispenser for shampoo/shower gel. But I understand that this is just a budget hotel, so it doesn't have all the usual things you'll see in a typical hotel. Just wish that the cleanliness would be taken into consideration.
The staff was also friendly!
We chose this place due to its price and not to far from the airport for a layover.
Firstly, I think its a fabulous location and we found some delicious Vietnamese food to be had not far from the hotel. The hotel itself - the staff were friendly, the rooms were exceptionally clean, the bed however was hard as a rock and I woke up in a bit of pain. The shower had no hot water when we needed to get ready to leave at 5am, so I left annoyed and frozen. The room was very small and I was glad we did not need to open our main luggage as we had a change of clothes/toiletries in our carry on. I would most likely not stay here again due to the bed, however if you like a hard bed I recommend this place!
This hotel is located outside the city center but close to public transport (which is great in Singapore) and you can get to the both city and the airport in approximately 30 minutes. Room as always in Ibis budget is small but has everything you need. The bed is comfortable so you can have a nice rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are some restaurants nearby, but I didn’t try them.
First return to Singapore since Covid19. |I've always enjoyed my stay here but because a friend extended her hospitality to stay with her, I booked only one night due to a very early arrival. Room was clean and comfortable as usual and friendly staff.
Stayed here for a solid 31 days, and these are the things that I noticed for staying throughout this period ;
• Cleanliness overall is extremely well-maintained.
• Hotel staffs (concierge) were all very patient, and helpful.
• Housekeepers were polite and ready to assist in all your cleanliness needs whenever.
• Condition of room facilities such as beds, tables, mini-fridge, bathroom showers etc, were all good as new.
Lastly, I genuinely enjoyed my stay here. I don't normally write reviews but I feel that ibis Joo Chiat deserved it for doing such a great job overall. 💯
100% will come again.
A clean hotel staff was friendly and helpful specifically Ted and sheena. Room service is very good cleaned every day. Would like to give excellent if not time to time could hear noise from other room. For a budget hotel, could not expect a big room.
Room on the 3rd floor, has window access which has clear unblock view to marine parade and surrounding. Near great local food, attractions and transport. Room is exceptionally clean and feel of 5 star, bathroom and toilet facilities top quality. One star short due to hot water during shower running low quite quickly during a 10 mins shower, room phone doesn’t work and TV channels are not clear looks like poor signal quality resulted in tv shows being fuzzy to look at. However, for the price rate it’s worth the stay.
Hi, may i know is there any free parking provided at the hotel?
We are a French family of 3 (mum, dad and our 13 year old daughter), we stayed in Singapore for 3 days and what happened during our stay at the hotel, Ibis Budget Joo Chiat is simply shocking. ||We checked in on 19th February at the hotel, being a loyal Accor client believing all their hotels are family friendly, safe and clean, and despite this outlet being a budget one, we would have expected something else, that's an understatement!||||Upon checking in i was a little surprise the lady at reception held on our daughter's passport for much longer than needed, but we were tired so we went to our rooms as soon as all the admin was settled.||||We had booked 2 rooms for our family. The hotel did not allocate 2 rooms next to one another but on different floors, one double room , and one with twin beds room. Our daughter felt uncomfortable being on her own, therefore my wife decided to sleep in our daughter's bedroom rather than in our room.|| ||You can imagine my wife's horror and distress when at 3minutes past midnight, the phone rang in the bedroom where my daughter was supposed to be in, on her own, with a male asking: "This is reception, Is ...my daughter's full name... sleeping here, in this bedroom?" ||We knew no one on this hotel, and we do not call our daughter by her full name (First name and Family Name) as per her passport, the only people indeed who would have access to my daughter's full name would be employees of the hotel who have a copy of her passport and access to room allocations... || ||My wife texted me but i was asleep, otherwise i would have called the police and we would have left on the spot...which we did the next morning for another hotel in the city!||Needless to say, my wife did not sleep that night, as she was expecting someone to try and come into the room. ||||I will not forget to mention how dirty the hotel was ( I lifted the bedside lamp, white dust everywhere on my clothes), the rooms with no windows smelled of humidity and dust, the towels and sheets were more than dubious, the beds were as hard as bricks. I am actually surprised that it passed Singapore hygiene and comfort standards? The constant noise, banging of doors and shouts in the corridor made it an even worse experience!|| ||The hotel manager never contacted us after we complained, we only received a few days later an email from their customer service rep, who implied that another hotel guest made that call, not the hotel receptionist. I am afraid, I have to disagree with the hotel statement that somehow a hotel guest knew, my daughter's full name as per her passport and room number. ||||Clearly it was a staff from the hotel, who had full access to my daughter's passport and rooms allocation, who did this dubious call. Needless to say, we were horrified, this call was an absolute nightmare and a disgrace.||||Clearly this is not a place where a family can stay in confidence and for the safety of their kids, despite being in Singapore. Better don't ever go to this hotel...there are other suitable options in town.
We stayed here several times already. Great location. Simple hotel but sufficient. Good value for money.
My 2nd time and the vibe is still the same. Very close to bus stop. Great rooms, clean hotel, nice shower, amazing neighborhood many food options and 7/11. Will def stay here again.
Worth the price! The hotel is surrounding by restaurants and convenience store. Clean and just good. But for transportation have to walk about few meters to get on bus.
Real nice clean and well suited in the old colonial Singapore. Service is perfect and many options for breakfast in katang.
Cheap, clean and in a reasonable location to walk to MRT (10-15 minute walk). Rooms are small but I sacrifice size for quality/cleanliness to get a good price. I'd stay again.
Excellent location with easy walking to a host of eateries. The main downside are the beds. They are very hard. I really can't understand how they can refurb the entire building and rooms and then choose the most uncomfortable beds I've slept on.
really love the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and we are really really happy in our stay in the hotel, we are 12 in the group and all of us really like the comfort and the cleanliness of the hotel. 2 thumbs up,
Nice hotel. It is clean, staff’s are accommodating and there’s a 7/11 nearby. Bus stop is just walking distance but depends on where you’re going.
Staff shld not go up to room and check in the middle of night. Privacy has to be honored. Tq.
Good experience - The service & facilities okay. Food - Not applicable.Clean bathroom, near to the bus stop, and nestle in the eastern part of Singapore that is known for its multi-cultural heritage.
Nice lobby. Got side path to park. The room was clean. Surprisingly got a freezer where can put 7 cans of drink.
The rooms are comfortable the staff is very friendly and helpful and the location is very good. Lots of places to eat and drink.
Fair enough hotel, we spent one night here on our layover in Singapore. Try to get a room away from the elevator, as the walls are very thin and people are active during the day and night. The surrounding area is very nice, a lot of restaurants and cafés. In between the airport and downtown.
Good location, near from bus stop which can take you anywhere. Staffs never greeted the guests.
Room wasn’t sound-proof, I had many tourist yelled in front of my door at 2 a.m. and it wasn’t quite good experience. Considering the cheap price, hotel is not bad but I’ll never think to bring along my baby here.
Is was a good stay with clean toilet, but no clothes cupboard , food nearby, walking distance to bus stop & MRT.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is okay, very basic. The AC filters were quite dirty... Hotel shall pay attention to this, some cleaning maintenance shall be done more regularly
The room is small but so much nice and cozy, there is TV, refrigerator, hot water for bath, aircond, water boiler, and hair dryer!! But u can hear faint sounds come from the next room if they talk loudly..but its tolerable.. The wifi is excellent. There is no iron provided in ur room..but maybe if u ask for it(?) oh and they didnt provide breakfast
close to the bus stop. friendly staff and very helpful. room small but comfortable and clean.
Cheap and reasonable price for one night. But I can hear loud noise from the next room.
Very well managed and maintained cleanly. Only troubesome thing is limited parking space but still managed to squeeze in. Gave us the highest floor with good view to the sea!
It was nice stay at hotel eventhough its small but compact and gud sorounding
The Fragrance Hotel is safe to stay in. The Staff are accommodating and nice. Their place is clean. They have TV cable and WIFI. Small restaurants around them.
Good enough for budget travelers. It's located in a nice area with many different options for food and other stores.
The location is very convenient. Easy check in and out, friendly staffs. For the price I am paying, it's considered cheap. Will go again soon.
Good location near Muslim Eateries/Shops most importantly a spick and span hotel and good customer service namely Naz, Zack and Dylan.
Good Hotel for a cheap price and near to some food court and bus station. For sure will book again for the next trip.
The location is good. Good hotel for budget travellers. Recommend.
This is my 2nd time here in Ibis Joo chiat.. but this time I don't like the room that they gave me it's on the 1st floor and very noisy.
Highly recommend this hotel. The room is big and clean, and the price is not expensive.
The only missing is the bidet 😅 very affordable and near to malls and metro station
Ok place to stay for a night or two. Clean and tidy though very noisy at times when we stayed. Staff was friendly but not necessarily going out of their way.
Clean and friendly staff. The only thing to consider is the distance to the nearest MRT station.
Very clean. Very comfortable. Nice location. And affordable.
Clean and budget friendly family accommodation with spacious room close to lot of restaurants and heritage peranakan houses at Joo Chiat
Very modern, the room is small, but very clean, the service staff is very nice
Hello
I highly recommend this budget hotel
We stayed 4 days in 2022
Very friendly and well cooperated staff.
Easily accessible with lots of food options around
good budget hotel in great location
It was fantastic stay with ibis.....superb.....its a nice place too .....
Cheap hotel... A bit noisy.... Good value
Great location, very helpful staff and reasonably priced
Budget hotel in Joo Chiat Area.
Small & clean rooms.
Clean and comfort in Joo chiat heritage
Location in central town and near changi airport
Very accommodating
Clean, safety, nice
Hotel located in Singapore 20 minutes from the airport. Ideal if you have to do a Transfer night.
There are several restaurants in the area and you can also walk around. In fact, I arrived late and they recommended one that was nearby and I was able to have dinner even though it was after 11 p.m.
The rooms are small, but they meet the necessary bathroom and space to put your suitcase. There was no noise. Breakfast is not included either.
If what you need is a Hotel, by the way, it is not a bad option and with a good quality-price ratio.
If you like the review, you can do ❤️
Excellent place, it has a 7 eleven in front of it and they let me in well before the time: I was tired and wanted to take a bath.
The bus that leaves you in Chinatown passes in front.
I completely recommend it
In Singapore, due to the weak yen, even the Red Ibis has prices that seem expensive, so I decided to stay at this hotel, which is a little far from the center but is in a place where you can feel the Malay and Peranakan culture.
There are a lot of shops around, so if you're a repeat customer, it might be a good idea to hang out here.
The room was a higher rank, but the room was bigger than I expected!
The shower room is also spacious.
The only amenities are a toothbrush, two bath towels, and tap water instead of bottled water (maybe because Singapore wants to emphasize that tap water is drinkable?)
I think a nearby Geylang affiliated store would be a good option, but if your purpose is not to play at Geylang and you are looking for a spacious room, this is recommended.
However, it is about 10 to 15 minutes away from the MRT and it can be difficult to get there in midsummer, so it is better to use Grab or a taxi.
The rest of the rooms are connected rooms, and there are many guests staying here for transit purposes, so if you are concerned about the noise of people moving in the early morning, this may not be a good idea.
It looks like the MRT brown line will be built soon, so I think it will be more convenient and access to Orchard will be better.
I really like this area, so I plan to stay here again in the future.
Staying here feels comfortable. Service from start to finish was very good, the reservation department was very helpful. If you want to look for food, it's close to a minimarket and food court. Just walk, the environment is also clean. Around the hotel there are many houses with interesting shapes. If you want to go to the city, just order a taxi online, prices are also relative.
The hotel rooms are clean, there is warm water, the AC is also cold. The location is also easy to find.
Great! A little better than the ibis budget Emerald.
Clean room, obviously recently renovated.
In a neighborhood with bars, restaurants, convenience stores, nightclubs, etc.
Hotel that is both economical and not too far from the airport, but much too noisy; slamming of doors which echo in the corridor until late at night, room with connecting door with the neighboring room so we hear everything, unexpected fire alarm in the middle of the night etcetera. We were asked for 5 SGD extra to have a room with a window.
The location is calm and quiet. away from the city Can travel mainly by bus. The hotel is a little old. The bed is not very soft. Overall, it is considered very worth the price.
If you are bringing children, I suggest you give it more thought. I booked a room at the last minute without doing much research. It is a bit far from the subway station and the location is relatively remote. It is really not suitable for bringing children. The lady at the counter cannot communicate in Chinese. Fortunately, there is a person working next to me. The aunt can speak Chinese and assist us with the check-in procedures. If you are not very demanding about sleep quality, you can still refer to it. The price reflects the quality.
I liked the smell of essential oil as soon as I entered the hotel lobby. But when we checked in, the male receptionist on the night shift didn't seem to see us? I was busy talking to my colleagues, thinking that I could check in after that, but the staff still used the computer first. As a result, my colleagues came back and continued talking. They stood at the counter for an unknown amount of time before asking for the name of the reservation. Later, when I asked about other matters, my attitude was a little impatient! The bathroom sink in the room leaked so much that the hair dryer got wet. Halfway through the bath, I found small damp bugs by the window, which made me feel a little disgusting. In addition, there was dust on the headboard. Other hardware and equipment were pretty good, and there was essential oil fragrance. The machine can be used, the double bed is large, but the pillows are too soft! We changed rooms due to water leakage, but the breakfast the next day was not moved to the door of the changed room. It was still delivered to the original room. Because it was written that we would have to wait 20 minutes before and after the designated time. It was designated at 08:30 and it didn't come until 09:00. I called. The phone inquiry also said that we would ask the food delivery staff again. We only found out that breakfast was there when we went to the door of our original room. This made us feel very bad! The Shufei chicken burger for breakfast was quite delicious. The burger skin was very fragrant, but the coffee latte was not good and the milky taste was too weak! The next morning, the person who made the diffuser stones was very nice! Fortunately, I can participate in this experience before checking out, otherwise the overall quality of the double room on weekdays really needs to be improved😊👍🏻
It was a pleasure staying at the Ibis Joo Chiat Hotel. We booked 4 rooms and arrived around 10 o'clock, but we only wanted to leave our suitcases, but the staff who received us allowed us to check in early and opened one room so we could put our suitcases and rest/shower. The hotel room is clean, the bathroom water is strong and hot water is available, the AC is very cold. Like the atmosphere around the hotel because there are many typical and colorful Peranakan houses. For transportation, there is a bus stop near the hotel, if you want to take the MRT, walk quite far, around 1.3km. If you are hungry, there are many choices, like going to the food court at Geylang Serai market or Haig road food market. Restaurants, cafes, minimarkets/supermarkets are also around the hotel. Overall very satisfied staying at this hotel and we will definitely come back.
Advantages: The reception hall, corridors, and rooms are all bright. The room is not big but very clean. The bed is very comfortable and the sound insulation is good.
Disadvantages: The hot water is not hot and will become completely cold after washing for too long (the hot water switch on the wall has been turned on). There is a nightlife area nearby, and the famous red light district Yalong is not far away.
