Reviews of Mayo Inn
I love staying at this accommodation. The price was very cheap (for Singapore), the room is spacious, the check in process was smooth.
The room got decent amenities, you can open 3 suitcases inside the room. The AC works fine, the bathroom was perfect. And the most important thing is.. there’s jet shower beside the toilet.. i need it badly. Lol
There’s so many food stalls, bars, restaurants nearby. And 7 eleven just across the street. SO CONVENIENT.
I’ll be back there if i go to singapore on my next trip.
It's a great, clean and affordable place in Little India, very close to most touristic attractions. The receptionionist was very nice and helpful. MRT and bus stations are a few steps away ( Rochor and Jalan Besar).
Nice clean spacious hotel. But the lift is unique. U need to open the door, auto slide door will open and press-hold button. Do not let go till u reach yr floor.
It was okay.
Location is the main reason we chose this hotel. Very convenient and near to 2 MRT stations (Rochor & Jalan Besar) and bus stations. Bugis & little india is exactly one block away from this hotel.
But, they need to improve on some major things, such:
better bed/mattress:
Very essential to have a good night sleep after a long day, but the bed is too firm with one set of bad pillows, and a very short blanket is a total disaster for my back and my sleep. They really need to change the bed and the blanket, and add more pillow.
Friendlier staffs:
Its a bit depressing to meet people after a long walk who is not going to greet you or just simply smile back at you.
But the hotel is thoroughly clean, with a cute small rooftop as their breakfast area.
PS:
-They dont have luggage storage room, they will put your luggages in the isle near the emergency door.
-no window in bedroom (first floor rooms)
It is good for the price. I like the location because it is in walking distance of the MRT, stores, restaurants and coffee shop. The rooms are clean, but it is definitely a lived-in old building.
I am from India. Stayed here for 5 nights during the month of Nov'19. This hotel is very close to Rochor & Jalan Besar (MRT Station). You can find lot of Indian restaurants nearby. Walkable distance to Little India. Very near to Bugis as well. Try to choose rooms with balcony or window. I did not face any issues here during my stay. Overall it was a good stay without any hassle.
Amazing location 1 block from MTR and Tekka centre (awesome wet market and hawker stalls). Bathroom and sheets were clean, AC worked well. Plenty of english language movies on the tv. Make sure you get a room on the Mayo road side, along the main street very noisy, we asked to change rooms and then our room was very quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was toast with several spreads, boiled eggs and coffee on a lovely roof patio. Wifi was very spotty so if you need to work this is probably not the best for you. Walls could use a wipe down or a paint job but overall an acceptable budget room.
Just check in. Room no 207. In Singapore you can’t get more in this price. Location is superb. Just less than 2 minutes walk from MRT ROCHOR. ( Exit by lift) & also from mrt JALAN BESAR it’s just 2 minutes ( exit gate B)
Bed sheets, towels clean.they provide 2 towel. Room with windows. Regarding Breakfast can give reviews tomorrow. Lift is extremely classic. antique of BRITISH time. Can’t say good or bad.
Breakfast 2 pic bread, 2 pic boiled egg, coffees. Seating area at rooftop is excellent.
Value for money.
Very strategically located in downtown Singapore, as it is quite close to 2 MRT stations and various tourist locations (Bugis, Little India and Arab Street).
For muslim visitors, there's a mosque within walking distance from the hotel.
I had enjoyable stay for 5 nights and definitely will consider to stay here again next time I visit Singapore.
Pretty nice hotel - surprisingly clean and comfortable. Happy with the housecleaning service. Excellent location (3 mins walk to Jln Besar MRT) and provides breakfast (which is nice in itself). Would stay again.
The room was spacious and bright. Everything was very clean. Location is very great as well. However they don't provide breakfast and the aminities provided are limited.
The best affordable hotel in Singapore. The staff was very kind and we met an employee named Raymond, a very good and kind person. It's good for a family.
Great hotel and always clean and maintain standard. Reception very good and no fuss.. checkout is at 11am and the staff will knovk de door if were are not out.. little dissapointing
Clean budget hotel close to city. Accessible by MRT Blue and Purple Line.
The lift is hydraulic operated which need upgrading.
Room was clean and big.. They provide nice shower soap and shampoo too.
So Good. Bathroom was clean and when you want to clean your room when you aren’t in the room it’s only to tap a button and they will clean. I recommend this hotel so much.
Pros:
- Clean room
- Spacious
- Near public transportation 5 mins walk to rochor mrt
- A lot of food stall nearby but mostly indian food
- 10 mins walk to several food center: berseh food center & albert food center (bugis)
- 10 to 15 mins walk to mustafa square, they sell almost anything i can think
Cons:
- Wifi need to relogin a lot, with various timeline
- Tv (iptv) seems not working because of previous issue
- Water heater need to be turned on & no one telling that during checkin
- No safe box ( i heard you have to request, but i don't bring anything valuabe during my stay )
Loving this hotel, located in strategic area and the staff was so humble and ready to help us. You must to try the elevator is so unique
This hotel is located in Little India area, the room is good with enough amenities. However, wifi is a bit slow
Staff was friendly, room was clean and spacious with real walls. However be wary since sounds from room leaks to corridor.
Tidy place, clean room, with a budget price ? This is the best hotel for that, they even allowed me to check in early, i will go back to this hotel again
Its a budget hotel conviniently located. Two mrt stations nearby-rochor station and jalan besar station. Service is okay.
Lift is slow except that everything was good.. hotel staff is helpful
Comfortable room. Toiletries provided. however small and slow lift.
Great located near the MRT so it easy to get anywhere including the airport.
very close to rochor mrt (dt13). easy to going every whare and very close to mosque
Place is Okay. But do not plan to depend on their Breakfast. It’s a very basic one
Reasonable hotel but bad placement of the AC
very good hotel for small family traveler
Nice and clear hotel. Staff isn't friendly at all...
boutique hotel in a lovely historic building from the 1930
Nice inn
Affordable price for staying in Singapore
best price with good service
A nice stay though
👍👍👍
Value for money
Good and clean.
Service is good
With the price offered, this hotel is quite good. Suitable for travelers with a budget that is not that big but still wants to sleep in a hotel. There is wifi, free breakfast (nak pau, bread, eggs, cereal, coffee, tea, milo) and you can check in early if the room is empty. And the rooms are also clean. Close to MRT and Jalan Besar bus stop. There are also many places to eat around the hotel. If I go to Singapore again, I think I'll want to stay here again.
Environment and location:
Located near bus and subway stations
But there is a road in front of the accommodation
It is inevitable that there will be loud traffic noise
But there are a few things to note about this accommodation.
1. Elevator
You have to "keep pressing" it to move
If you don't press it, your elevator will stall.
So those living on higher floors will have a hard time
2. Hair dryer
There is no hairdryer in the room
You must borrow it at the counter
I feel particularly inconvenient
Especially if there are female companions
This needs attention
Meals and tastes:
The breakfast provided by the hotel is very simple
There are several packages to choose from
Such as strawberry jam, milk toast with black tea and coffee, etc.
Price and value for money:
The total price for a double room for two nights during the July holiday is about NT$4,000
So the price per person per night is NT$1,000 (including breakfast)
Overall review:
The price is not particularly cheap and the location is okay
So addition and subtraction can be considered
But two considerations for elevators and hair dryers
If you find it inconvenient for friends
Just need to weigh it again
It's a simple and clean traditional hotel, but it doesn't have the special smell of a traditional hotel. A three-person room costs about S$200 a night, which is quite affordable. Maybe it's because it's a regular hotel, so it has more flexibility. We can only check in at three o'clock, but the lady at the counter gave us a bad look. We were so tired that he let us go to our room to rest before one o'clock. What a good person.
It's just a motel, but the owner's friendliness is excellent. The elevator goes up 20 seconds per floor.
Good room, usable, convenient to travel to both MRT - JALAN BESAR and MRT- ROCHOR. Really come to use the service. Recommended to choose a room not next to the road, the noise will be quieter.
Good value for money. There are all amenities. Good WiFi. Near the metro station. Daily cleaning. Soap, shampoo, disposable toothpaste, water, tea and coffee... were provided every day. The only thing.. do not take breakfast. Two boiled eggs and bread with Nutella...And this is the praised breakfast on the roof..
Cheap with morning service included. 1 minute walk to coin laundry. The room is also spacious and clean. I have no complaints at all.
The place is clean but the rooms are a bit small
