Possible bed bugs in first room. They did move me to second room, a larger one, for free. Although Wink is clearly labeled as a hostel at the site, on Expedia is was labeled as a hotel. Do not expect private bathrooms or showers
Staff were so niceee, rooms clean, good ambience, and it’s strategic to stay here
I had a great time at your hostel, the room, the pantry, the common area and the toilet were all clean and well maintained. The towel was clean and smells good. The breakfast was pretty decent for the price I paid. The location is 10/10! I would love to go back on my next visit to Singapore.
I enjoyed my 2-night stay at the hostel. It was clean with friendly staff and comfortable bunk space. However, an issue arose as all electric sockets were in the Singapore variant, causing inconvenience for foreign guests. The staff addressed the issue promptly by providing a converter for a $3.10 charge. Overall, a positive experience with a minor inconvenience swiftly resolved.
Everything was good , juz some snoring noise .and why not change the locker to locker that unlocked using key instead of by touchscreen sound. The beep beep beep sound every time unlock will disturb other users who are fall asleep.
The experience is nice and clean. We stayed at their private room (7 single pod) at Mosque Street. I think they have 3 floors and only accessible through stairs.
The staff is respectful. I appreciated the guides listed on their website.
The shared bathroom is clean and properly maintained. Didn’t also have any trouble with their free wifi.
Bed space is comfy and spacious with a locker provided. I think the only issue with the bed space is if you are assigned to the top bunker, because it somewhat hard to climb up and down.
Pantry supplies are given free during the breakfast and utensils are freely available.
Awesome location, near the MRT and souvenir shops in Chinatown. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Wink Hostel.
Really good hostel! Clean and very well catered. Secure lockers were big and very helpful. Location was right next to the MRT station in Chinatown and east access to gardens by the bay on foot. Good facilities to clean clothes, breakfast included and lots of space in the bathrooms.
I stayed in a female dorm room, and I would say that the room was mediocre. There were old stains on my sheets, but the mattress and pillows were comfortable, and there was an outlet, reading light, and privacy curtain. There is a washer and dryer that are free for guests (detergent available for a fee), and breakfast is included although it is very basic and only includes coffee/tea and toast. Towel included, and there is shower gel in the showers. They let you leave bags in an unsecured area until the check in area closes (8-9 pm). It was located in a very accessible location!
Stayed here during Formula one weekends (1-3 Oct) and I was surprised by the hospitality and service here which is great. The rooms are quite comfortable and bathrooms are very clean. The only downside for me is the dryer which is hard to use (since that day is raining most of the time). Other than that, the location is perfect (near to Chinatown MRT station) and lots of shops available here. It’s a good place for a solo backpackers like me and I would definitely recommending you guys to have a night there.
Hi Wink Hostel team, thank you for the good hospitality that you have provided to us during our stay. The location was good near to MRT. Cleanliness of the room was good. It’s a good stay if you come with families and friends as the price of the hostel was very reasonable. Will come back to this hostel if we travel in a group to SG. Definitely recommended this hostel to you all. The hotel supervisor or manager was friendly and helpful too.
Very positive review and will definitely come again.
Extremely strategic location, walkable to the Chinatown attractions, hawker center and the MRT station. Arrived there with after hours self check in, easy instructions by the staff. Place and really clean and tidy. Each capsule has towel provided, clean linen and blanket, 1x power plug, and lights.
Btw, The free breakfast is just milk cereal, toast with jams, but outside that hour, there's free water refill, tea/coffee provided.
Travelled with a group of friends on a budget.
The dorms were clean, relatively spacious and secure - they were great for a group of friends.
The shared bathroom facilities were also very clean and well kept, staff were nice and accommodating.
Incredible location right next to the Chinatown MRT station which would take you anywhere in Singapore. Don't think you can find a place at this price point with a better location. The food and shop options are great.
Some minor nitpicks were the mattresses were a bit thin and soft, so if you're a side sleeper your hips may touch the base of the capsule and might be a tad uncomfortable. Another minor nitpick is the water pressure in the showers was pretty lacking.
Overall Wink Hostel is a great place to travel with friends, meet people and have most of what Singapore offers within a short walk.
While not the most architecturally stunning hostel I’ve ever stayed at, Wink @ Mosque Street was clean, showers and bathrooms were great, pods were the best I’ve seen yet, and AC kept the dorm frigid (good). The common area is small — a self serve kitchenette and one table that seats 8 at most, yet it was never crowded. It’s not cheap — but then what is in Singapore?
In the heart of Chinatown and connected to the train. Stayed here for a couple nights - comfy beds, locker provided and warm showers. Nice and incredibly helpful staff. Can keep luggage at the hostel until 8 pm the day after checking out.
Fast check in and check out ,helpful staff. Nice simple breakfast every morning. The bed and pillow is comfy but the blanket kinda thin so quite cold overnight eventho the aircond i put on 24. Other thing is the bathroom, quite a lot of small insect at the wall.
5 star compared to the capsule hostel. THE BED IS VERY COMFORTABLE.
VALUE OF MONEY IN SIN.
I have travelled extensively around the world and stayed at many hostels over the years and I can honestly say that my stay at The Wink was one of my most memorable. The place is immaculately clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of secure storage underneath. On a previous trip to Singapore 3 years ago I stayed in Arab Street but I chose Chinatown this time and am so glad I discovered The Wink. I stayed longer than I initially planned because I enjoyed it so much.
I booked a female pod and got a room for 10 people. The pod is good and bigger than I thought. The staffs are welcome. The shower and toilet are separate and mostly clean than other hostels.
Nice location but you get what you pay for. Showers and bathrooms not so clean, can hardly call the included breakfast a breakfast, water machine wasn’t working and the staff doesn’t really help you upon arrival (no recommendations, etc). The bedrooms were very clean tho
Really comfy beds as far as hostels go. The whole place was immaculately clean. The staff was charming, and accommodating as much as they could be. Location is good for Chinatown. Safe and quiet. The only downside was the awkward and less comfortable common areas. Otherwise it was lovely!
Clean beds in a nice room. I loved the capsule concept and the personal luggage lockers! Very helpful staff; they even let me take a shower and lend a towel before my evening flight although I was already checked out that morning! Very convenient that luggage can be stored after check-out so you can still explore the city comfortably. The location is very good too, about 20 minutes walking to see the most famous sights. The kitchen could use better cleaning; there were tiny bugs crawling everywhere including the sink, where we prepare our meals. Thanks Wink, for taking care of me during my stay!
For a capsule-type hostel, the facilities were always well-maintained and cleaned. I always saw housekeeping cleaning up the washroom/showers daily- reassuring that I was truly getting clean. Wifi was fast, and there are several spaces in the hostel that you can just chill out in. Staff are friendly and were eager to help out.
Minus one star as a note of caution to those that get a top level capsule- it is quite a jump from the lowest rung of the ladder to the floor (I assume the lowest rung is so far from the floor so that it doesn't cover the luggage compartment), and I could definitely feel the impact when jumping from it (yes I had to do a mini-jump as I couldn't just step down easily). So word of advice- get a lower-level capsule.
UPDATE:
Stay: June 2022
To begin with, five stars for the Wink Management as they really go all out for their guests. I was supposed to stay here in April 2020. But, 10 days prior to my departure date, the borders were closed. I contacted the management but I am not too sure they can do anything for my booking. But hey, they immediately offered me two options: a new arrival date & free credit with validity till 31st Dec '21. I chose the free credit, but they haven't accepted any short-term visitors in Dec '21. So, they told me that they would extend my free credit validity till June 2022. Thank you so much, Wink!
Then, for the hostel premises, they have done repainting and it's great so the building doesn't look tired. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, from the common rooms and even the rooms and bed. Guests have to put shoes on the front office area. So, no shoes inside the rooms and common rooms. They also offer plenty of seats and desks to gather around or you can do some works.
Kudos and thank you for Nelson and his team. They are super friendly, helpful, patient, and always ready to ensure the guests' stay enjoyable. When I first arrived, the lady explained everything in details. She makes sure I know everything I need during my stay.
I really enjoy my stay at Wink, especially after an unpleasant stay in other establishment in Dec '21. Wink is a total game changer. Definitely my first choice for hostel in SG.
Previous review:
A really strategic location and I love the capsule concept.
Very happy with the Wink Hostel.
I stayed in Singapore for two nights attending a conference and intended to get around mainly on the MRT. As such, I found a pod hostel located very close to an MRT station and food outlets. Wink Hostel was great. Beds were large and comfortable. Bathrooms were large and clean. Breakfast was provided with a cereal/toast bar. Very satisfied and recommend for a short stay.
Wink Hostel is a really nice place to stay. It’s worth the price. The breakfast was decent. Fortunately my room was quiet. It depends on the guests of course. Have read complaints about the hot bathroom and it was true. But it’s not a big deal for me because I didn’t stay long in the shower or toilet.
Suprisingly good. Though a capsule hotel but still very comfortable. Shared bathroom but lots of space. Very satisfy with the facility.
Fantastic experience, clean, easy and well set out. Power in the pods for charging, good facilities and free breakfast. Close to MRT.
It was good, sadly they don't have elevator so you have to carry your things using stairs, good thing their staff helped me. Thank you. The bathroom is clean, so is the room
Perfect location, great service, clean, easy. Loved it!
awesome for what you pay for. Breakfast included was a massive bonus. Spacious and able to store stuff with me while I slept due to the space down the side of the bed.
The bunks were very spacious and comfortable. Air-conditioning was adequate. Place and bathrooms were well designed and clean. Staff were friendly. First class, personable service in an affordable location. Would definitely recommend
Very near MRT, Very accomodating front desk!
We checked in there on a Chinese New Year day. I felt I made the best decision to stay at Wink. Its a few steps away from Smith Street where you can find cheap Authentic Chinese food. There are also 2 very near MRT options in Pagoda Street and Upper Cross Street.
Even if its right next to these busy streets, it's surprising that Mosque street is quiet and peaceful.
The front desk staff was also very friendly and accomodating. We left our bags at his counter after check out. When we got back, he even offered us towels in case we want to freshen up before our flight.
Our pod was very comfortable. Good quality materials used!
I was amazed to see how great the place was. Should be rated as a 5 star hotel. Very clean, jovial and friendly staff, (to be noted: will go to great extent to help you out), cheapest in the city and extremely comfy. Second time in singapore and I regret not staying here in my first visit. I had come so unprepared for my trip but these guys here helped me out completely. Great place. Must stay here. #Goteamwink
The bunkbed was almost to collapse. The bathrooms were not clean. Even the great location be careful when making your choice.
At first i was skeptical with a hostel, but turns out the hostel really great. Quiet vibes, cleam bathroom and room, no smokes, etc. Really worth it!
There's no hot water in the showers and you only get 1 towel, even if you stay multiple nights. Replacement towels will be $2 each.
Otherwise no complaints, quiet and clean, had a good stay.
Very friendly and helpful stuff, I wasn't aware that I booked a room without a window but it was okay for sleeping. Great location in Chinatown. The kitchen get's busy in the morning, a second sink could make sence
The hotel room supplies all you need in Singapore.
The breakfast is not much. After the first morning we went out the next days instead.
It is better than other capsule in Singapore. Singapore is hot and all men sweating back to bed, bad smell always if air con and fresh air not control well , this Wink air quality acceptable with above avg console price , as well as location is best , recommend
Booked Wink Capsule Hostel after some research and it was a good choice.
With beautiful capsules, keycard based entry and locker, great location with 7-11 around the corner and a clean, manageable environment, I really like Wink Hostel.
Value for Money: 8/10. Rather than paying SGD 99 per day for YMCA, Wink only costs SGD 30/day
Will I Return: Yes. Will definitely book Wink Hostel on my next trip down to Singapore.
I love the bathroom! Is very clean plus there's no rubbis including the bedroom. I love how the double decker looks like. Very fascinating.
This is my 2nd time stay here. Last stay was 8 years ago. It’s still clean and chill and relax. Maybe I will choose wink to stay when next journey to SG.
1. The toilet is very clean.
2. The breakfast is very good.
3. The kitchen is always there for use.
4. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
5. The room is comfortable.
Appreciate for Management and staff very competitive and neet and clean everything I am Abdul From Pakistan I am 1 days stay 😀 and happy now
Nice clean place with good staffs there. Location very nearby to MRT station. Bed comfy to sleep.
First time staying in a hostel, brilliant experience. Hotel staff were friendly and the facilities were clean.
The beds and bathrooms were pretty clean. Breakfast and water are freely available, and the staff are very nice. The location is great, just a short walk to the MRT.
Overall great experience at Wink Hostel, location was spot on with everything in close vicinity. The hostel itself was clean and service was great too!
Lovely staff. Each bed has a cubicle and curtain and locker. Feels seperate. Breakfast is a little threadbare. Great location.
Good price for value, clean and large shared bath rooms.
The rooms were an bit old, especially the matress was quite uncomfortable.
Excellent
Fantastic staff.
I was taken good care of
Nelson and Anusha very competent and caring
The location is great, right at the Chinatiwn, very clean, and the breakfast is awesome
great place and great people. its reasonible price hostel in singapur.
Nice living space and kitchen...cosa beds in Chinatown, Singapore.
Nice place, beds are really nice and spacious.
nice and clean.
staff is so nice and helpful.
Cheap, clean and comfortable
simple, convenient, even with my family
Ok
Best hostel
An okay place to stay but expensive for what you get. Two-person pods are quite spacious with room on the side of your bed. Space for your bag is made for 1 bag, even on the double beds, which is a shame. Everything works with a digital code lock, which makes a lot of noise. In the middle of the night you hear codes being typed in everywhere. The rules are also not followed. Should be quiet after 10:00 PM, but all night long people are walking, doing, cooking, working, etc. It also seems as if some people live there. Breakfast is fine but mediocre. Location is very good, right next to the metro and nice restaurants in the street
The location is very central, in the middle of Chinatown.
All rooms are clean and the staff is helpful.
The beds are simple but also clean and quite comfortable, and there are curtains to the bed.
During the year-end and New Year holidays, my family of four stayed in a 6-person room. This is my first capsule hotel in my life. The children are girls aged 12 and 15. The room is very spacious and the bed is sufficient. The sheets and pillows were clean. You'll need to take off your shoes at the entrance, so it's a good idea to bring slippers that you can throw away. I don't know if it's only for women, but the shower has three hooks, and if you have two plastic bags, you can wash and change clothes separately. There are two dryers. The toilets were clean. There is a water server in the shared kitchen, so I filled a plastic bottle with water, froze it in the shared refrigerator, and took it with me. Minus 1 star because there were a lot of small insects in the shower room. Hotel prices in Singapore have gone up considerably compared to before, so I was glad that I was able to stay there cheaply and that my children were happy and wanted to go to a training camp. The station is also conveniently located nearby. There is no elevator, so carrying suitcases can be difficult.
Room:
I spent 6 nights here in a women's room. I was surprised at how comfortable the beds are. The capsules themselves are also pretty good and, in addition to the large locker for the suitcase, also offer a lot of space.
Common areas:
The kitchen was always clean. There are cutlery, crockery, a microwave, a fridge freezer and a water dispenser. However, you can't cook here.
The bathrooms are separated by gender and have many toilets and showers. However, the cleanliness here was sometimes really poor. Of course, this is mainly due to the residents. However, given the large number of guests, the bathrooms should be cleaned more than once a day! It was also really annoying that the toilet paper and paper towels were constantly out.
Location:
The location in Chinatown is very central. You can easily reach everything on foot or use one of the very nearby MRT stations.
All in all, a very good place to stay at a totally fair price! Clear recommendation :)
Location very central, everything within walking distance. It's a typical hostel, everything is kept relatively sparse. Linen, breakfast and soap provided free of charge. Unfortunately there were no trash cans in the room or in the women's toilets. The showers weren't so clean in the evening, but it was fine in the morning. Some rooms have no windows (but also no street noise).
I experienced the Wink Hostel in the women's dormitory. I am 56 years young and traveling alone. It took a little longer until I finally received an answer to my requests via email from the hostel. Apparently I always fell into spam, which was annoying for me because I needed a late check-in and you need the booking ID code via Booking or Agora, I booked via Hostelworld because there is no ID. Please remember that you will have to carry your suitcase up at least 2 flights of stairs. Sometimes with a lot of charm you can get one of the gentlemen (employees) to help you. I also think that we could be friendlier, both for the employees and for the guests. Unfortunately, no one says hello anymore... I personally think it's a shame. The location is perfect, I really liked the capsule, it's big enough for a few nights. Yes, and the cleanliness of the women leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the toilets, which I think is a shame and gives rise to shame. The hostel in general is very clean, there's nothing you can do if you're not able to help with something (toilets), they were soon clean again in the morning. It was my first hostel stay on my tour through Asia, but Singapore is a very expensive place. By the way, I definitely go to the Chinatown Complex on the 2nd floor, there are 2x Michelin star stalls. Please search.
2022/12/31 About 6000 yen, my first capsule hotel: It's called a dormitory. I took off my shoes at the entrance floor and went to the 10-person room.I could walk barefoot on the floor without getting any dirt on it, so I could put up with it. The capsule has a thin blanket, bath towel, 1 outlet, and a storage shelf with a lock underneath. toilet+
There is one type of liquid soap in the shower room, and you can hang your clothes on the wall and change inside on the wet floor. You must bring your own toothbrush and shaver. The dining room has a large desk and a shared cup where you can drink coffee and tea with a wash service. A good hotel if you just want to take a shower and stay overnight.
The hostel is correct. Enough for 2 days. As for respect for others, it’s a disaster. I've never seen that. I'm in a room next door where there are "girls" who are probably drunk and disrespectful who wake up the others at 4am. I had to ask them several times to calm down. And I had to wake up the host who didn't do anything... he just went back to sleep. It's a shame for the others in the hostel. I recommend that you go elsewhere where the rules are respected by everyone.
