I engaged Jake after meeting five IDs because I thought he was knowledgeable, organised, and provided useful insights. His quotation was reasonable and captured nearly all requirements I conveyed in our first meeting. He was also not pushy and gave me space and time to properly consider the proposal before signing. The final cost of the renovation did not deviate much from the original contract (~+5%). That’s possible because Jake was meticulous in our planning discussions. What I really appreciate about Jake is his project management skills; he was on top of things and provided regularly updates with photos and videos. I think he has a good working relationship with his contractors. But please be reasonable and don’t expect that your ID is constantly on site. Inevitably, along the way there were some things that turned out unexpected, but Jake tried to find workable solutions at minimal additional cost. One advice to the homeowner, do take the time to think through practical considerations and colour schemes. This is one area which I did not put in enough effort and kind of relied excessively on Jake. Be conscious that this is your house, so you really need to think critically and your ID is there to guide you along. Jake’s experience and design background was really valuable in our home renovation. I give 4/5 stars - which is really high. 5 stars is perfect, which realistically is exceedingly rare.

My ID Joash was in charge of my 4br BTO unit. He is very professional, helpful and responsive. He listens to your ideas and helps to recommend ways we could achieve the feel we were looking for. The renderings were provided fast and any changes needed after could be done after the initial idea was created. He was very clear with all the timeline and gave constant updates throughout the whole project. During the works, when time came to do choosing of materials (Vinyl, quartz, etc), he would help see that the designs matches the theme before we made any confirmations. He is very helpful and would take time to be on site to help out with certain stuffs. He also helped coordinated each works so that everything ran smoothly. The whole project took about 2.5months.

We were introduced to Ms. Jenny Wang of Weiken as our Interior Designer for our 4room HDB flat at Canberra. Jenny fully in-charged of our house renovation from Jul to Sep 2023. She is a very hardworking, dedicated & efficient ID. Our renovation involved overhaul of the whole house. She meticulously & painstakingly helped us in the selection of the right textures, colours & types of tiles, paints, backsplash, laminates, curtains, blinds, lightings etc to ensure that all these blend harmoniously, match precisely, to achieve our desired theme of clean & modern. When she realised that our sofa size might obstruct the cabinet doors, she made a decision to change from 2 doors to 3 doors (smaller width), so that our huge sofa can fit the living area. She is conscious of not only the aesthetic part but also the functional part of living space. The end results of the reno was marvelous! We even introduced Jenny to my sister who are also looking for an ID for her condo at Parc Canberra. We are very happy working with Jenny who is not only dedicated but efficient & completes the project ahead of our scheduled time (we gave her till 1st week of oct, she completed by 23 Sep). My fiance and I would like to specially thank Denise for her expertise and professionalism through our renovation. Denise was our 2nd ID that we met and since the first day of meeting her, we were impressed by her design ideas and knowledge that we agreed to engage her for our renovation seconds after the meeting. I met a good ID, Eugene Xing, in Weiken. This is my third time decorating a house, and I met the best ID. He understands the revisions I need every time, is very responsible, and is very cooperative! He can check everything for me and I highly recommend him! There will inevitably be some minor problems during the decoration process. It is really important to have a patient ID, which can also alleviate a lot of negative emotions. The carpentry, flooring, and painting parts of the overall project performed well, and there were no major mistakes. They took the initiative to solve minor problems themselves, and the workers were also very friendly. The bricklayer's workmanship was not that satisfactory, and the bathroom had to be reworked once. Fortunately, ID followed up very well. There will always be regrets when renovating a house. Fortunately, this time I had the least regrets. Enjoy your stay!
