Reviews of Ayer Rajah Food Centre
Pretty nice first impression 😊👍🏻 bagus hawker centre that is quite cooling and spacious :)
With a vast variety of food options to choose from western to halal to Indian, this open-air eatery sure is suitable to many. Highly recommended if you live or work nearby 👍🏻👍🏻
The most popular foodcourt in singapore..almost all food nice..come n try...
Ayer Rajah Food Centre, located at 503 West Coast Drive in Singapore, is a hidden gem known for its variety of delicious hawker fare. It features a mix of local flavors, including Halal-certified stalls, making it a great spot for diverse food options. Some standout offerings include:
Habib's Rojak, famous for its Indian Rojak, featuring a mix of tempeh, coconut flour, and fried delights. The rojak is light and flavorful, with a signature sauce that adds a sweet and spicy kick.
Joo Chiat Prawn Mee, where you can enjoy savory prawn noodles in a rich broth, served with fresh prawns and pork ribs.
Tokyo BBQ Stingray, known for its melt-in-your-mouth stingray, grilled to perfection and served with sambal paste that adds a spicy, tangy flavor.
The food center also offers dishes like oyster omelets, chicken feet noodles, and fishball noodles, all praised for their authentic taste and generous portions.
This place is popular for Indian and Malay food. There's a wide selection of Halal dishes - Nasi Padang, Nasi Lemak, Ayam Pengyet, Mee Goreng, Mee Siam, Soto, Tauhu Goreng, Gado Gado, Indian Rojak. Etc. Chinese food is also available and most of them are pretty well received. There a good mix of cooked Zi Char, Chicken Rice, Fish Ball Noodle, Fried Hokkien Mee, Fish Soup, Char Kway Teow (Fried Kway Teow), Herbal Soup, Congee, Wanton Mee, Duck Rice.
Quite nice place if you want late night prata. I am supporting a fish soup stall in this food centre now cos they are very generous with their ingredients. Will post the stall number next time when I visit again.
Tasty roti prata and chicken curry!
First time at the hawker centre. Rather inaccessible. Missed an exit on the Ayer Rajah Expressway, and had to travel quite a long distance to the next exit and to double back after that. But place was quite crowded. Two rows of Muslim stalls. Ate at fried rice stall, not cheap but not too bad. Parking area is small so be prepared for parking at neighboring HDB blocks. Overall quite crowded and a wide spread of food stalls.
Great range of proper hawker fare. Notably, lots of Muslim food choices. Unique food options worth visiting- Genuine Turkish Donnor Kebabs, delicious and great value Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles, delicious Indian Rojak, great Tze Char, and Nasi Lemak.
You'll never run out of options in this hawker centre, any mealtime.
Suggestion: AVOID "Mr Tandoori"
Mr Tandoori shop owner is not open with prices. When I asked how much a set listed on the menu was, he didn't reply but just reached out to grab my $10 note.
When he requested for coins but I didn't have any on hand he retorted and grumbled when none were available.
I was charged $8 for a single plain Naan and small bowl of watered down Butter Chicken at Mr Tandoori. Was not given the side of vegetables that were said to be included on the menu. His excuse was that they ran out.
Utensils provided at Mr Tandoori were oily, not washed properly, and flimsy.
Food itself was not terrible, but the experience was definitely. With so many other options in the same hawker centre, I'm not about to ever be back.
Cheap and good finds!!! Do go down to support stall #18. I recommend the Shaanxi Liang Pi from there, great noodle texture QQ and springy and taste, with a kick of spice from the chilli :)
A lot of variety of foods to choose from, such as Indian, Chinese, Malay, Western and if Iam not mistaken there is a turkish stall too👍 Would recommend.
Favourite place for Indian Rojak at Habib Rojak. At night I go for great barbeque seafood at Tokyo's. The food are reasonable priced. Another damn good Indian Rojak is Salam Rojak. These are my favorite stores for dinner / supper. Goes well with beer 🍺🍻
Was there solely for Salam Rojak. Went to their outlet at Northpoint before as I stay in Woodlands. My fmly prefers to travel to Ayer Rajah. The guys were fast and got orders moving well.
Difficult to give 5* for a hawker centre.
Local food center with huge variety of food choices. You can be sure to find something that suits your taste bud (^_^)
A bit dated but with many stalls and much food choice. Especially good selection for Muslim or Indian food. Stall 50 Nasi Biryani Specialist is good value - generous portion and tastes good. The Hong Kong delicious soup stall always has a long queue during lunch time; this is the sister shop of that Michelin bib one in Alexandra Village Food Centre. The carpark is little congested. No public wash basin to wash hands.
I don't frequent this place, so I'll only come when a colleague is driving.
Good variety of Malay and Indian food, and also still relatively affordable.
Lovely lightly fried rojak.
Mutton soup with bite size meat. Spicy.
This place is a good 'old' hawker centre that most of us are familiar with. Selling a variety of food from Chinese to Muslim to Indian. Mutton soup, wonton noodles, fish soup, Indian rojak, barbeque seafood. Don't forget to try the Hong Kong soup stall if you have the time to queue, there's quite a few good soups from this stall.
Manis kitchen stall no 62
Ayer rajah food center.
Stall owner very nice & friendly.
Epok Epok(Fried Empanadas) size is big
#valueformoney!!
Flavour is amazing with different types variety. Owner mention all produce is freshly make daily.
A must try!! 👍👍👍
Great food at great prices, and most are on Paylah so it's very convenient!
Good place for family and friends gathering. Cheap and delicious local food.
Nice Indian Rojak. Tried the Indian Fried Noodle, not bad. Tried Malay food today , taste good too..
Lots of yummy food here, used to visit for the western and turtle soup but not aure if they're still there. There's a yong tau fu stall that has long queue in the morning too. And i also like the brayani, indian rojak and fried beehoon frm the 1st indian stall on the 2nd row.
Like I mentioned in my previous review of this place, it is awesome but not great. Time flies, and it loose the essence of good tasty food to the rise of the economy. Food there are now a little pricier than before. Even my favourite Mee Siam stall now is no more the standard it use to be with its sambal now is so spicy and hot for my liking and portion do not match the price. But I will still look for the Mee Siam Indian style cos you can't find it the same anywhere else in this land. Not much to add about the other food here cos I don't want to discourage the stall owners there. Just an advise, don't loose your customers if you cut 'cost' to be profitable.
Great place for eating has variety of food. May have lunch time crowd. Went back again to the popular halal porridge shop. Great food.
Solid food. Can't go wrong if you go with the Indian rojak here.
This place is a must for me when I come back to Singapore. Yes it’s crowded, busy, dirty, smelly and stuffy but the food is good. We tried only the Malay and India dishes and they are authentic. Maybe on the sweet side but very good.
Rojak buah with century egg was nice. Satay bumbu was flavourful. Decent Malay food.
It's one of the famous hawker centres. The most of the stall owners are formerly from Shenton way hawker centre during 1970 years. Most of the stall owners are either 3th or 4th generation owners. One can get almost everything for breakfast and lunch and dinner too. Halal and non Halal foods are there. Mee goreng, briyani, satay, lotong, mee rebus, mee siam, you just name there are. Most of the stall owners are very friendly and helpful and welcoming. Their food are excellent although some prices had increased.
Lovely gravy. Can get peanut crunchy texture. Price might have increase a bit but still worthy rojak.
Satay was good. Peanut sauce was great and tau goreng and the service was excellent.
One of the best hawker center in singapore. For a good mixed of very good Chinese and Malay food. Have been coming here at least once a week for the last 15 years
Breakfast Lunch and dinner.
The Indian rojak which is supposed to be popular is, in my opinion, not delicious. Gravy far too sweet. Also very pricey.
Not open for customers yet. Likely 2/3 August according to one stall holder I spoke too. New seats and stall numbers (in various colours).
Food is always delicious as this is hawker centre so service and environment is so so.
Here to find and try their Satay Power 6 Stall 23 because got one kakak @Lau Pa Sat stall mentioned to me they open a stall here.
So far okay, satay are the same. Well I think I will still go to Lau Pa Sat for their duck meat and thick gravy sauce ;-)
Indian rojak is my go to! Have it fresh & crispy with spicy dipping sauce... you'll have to keep coming back
Lots of choices, all varieties of local cuisine.
Nasi lemak with very fragrance rice. Worth a try.
The best indian rojak in Singapore..... Habib's stall
This place has some nice food especially the Muslim stalls like Nasi Goreng, The Halia, satay, etc.
Nice food. Reasonably priced. Spoilt for choice. Coffee n tea at stall 41 fantastic
Many nice foods to choose from. Spoiled for choices.
Honest speaking, it is a competitive area for them. However, for you and me, it is Food Heavans. Enjoy it, specially the Indian Rojaks. As the standard has been well maintained since my younger days(at a different location then).
Went there for the original Shenton Way mamak mee goreng. The fried noodles are now $5/plate, but worth it.
Parking is hit and miss. Otherwise the selection of Malay and Indian food here is hard to beat. I get my Teh Halia Gajar fix at the first stall middle row, 21 i believe. Not diluted. S$3
Take note the hawker centre is closed for renovation/upgrading from early May to 31st July 2022 (as stated on banners). A good variety of food here. Weekdays lunch time can be crowded since work started back in office. Most of the stalls are closed from late afternoon, left mainly Muslim/Malay stalls that open till late.
Always back here for the variety of halal food! Most famous is the char kway which sells out fast esp the weekends. From indian rojak to satay to western.... lots of chinese n malay food stalls... nearby amenities like shops n NTUC. OCBC and POSB ATMs nearby also. Near bustop also. Very convenient. Newly renovated
Bubur kampong, rojak and tahu bakar is the best. Always keep coming back for their porridge and rojak.
After a recent renovation, the Food Centre is much breezier with newly installed huge ceiling fan with lighted stall signage and name. A lot more Malay and Indian food stalls selling Indian rojak, biryani and mee goreng, Malay satay, nasi lemak, mee siam; Chinese wanton mee and minced pork porridge, etc. Great place for lunch, dinner and supper.
Lots of variety of hawker food to choose from, affordable prices and delicious too 👍
Enjoyed lots of varieties of food. They have 2 of the best Indian Rojak in one place. Good satay too. Unfortunately the cleaniness need upkeep cos you can see lots of tissues & Styrofoam plates as well as plastic cutlery flying around due to the wind. Need to stop using plastic cutlery & Styrofoam
Wow this 70 year old family run briyani stall has to be some of the best I have ever had, fish, mutton, daal...just wow!
Then the Satay stall has the fastest peices of meat that I have had to date. Good tasty peanut sauce. Could be spicier but still good. At $1 per stick it's worth it for the meat alone! Flavorful and juicy, we had mutton and beef.
I love this food centre. They have everything here. This place probably also have the most value for money fishball noodles. Char kway teow, Carrot cake, Indian Rojak, biryani, Shanghai noodles&dumplings and beehoon are all really good too! Will be back again!
Great choices of food which can range from Western to Chinese or from Malay to Indian...
Personally, I prefer the soup stall which is so nourishing. You would feel thirsty after drinking as this shows MSG amount quite minimum. Pricing is reasonable from $3.50 to $5
However, past year changed business model from prepared individual serving soup bowl to current fresh from pot. Slower this way but die hard supporters still maintain queue!
Can try the $5 white bee hoon which is the trend currently.*closed.last updated on Feb2019*
Another stall to recommend is the Ah Wei Yong Tou Foo. Be warned of long waiting queue!*closed.last updated on Feb2019*
Spinach soup@$5 is nice, plenty of vegetables.
Half of the hawker center are Indian and muslim food. There are oso few yummy chinese food stores. U will not hv problem finding them-just find the Q in breakfast time.
Today, update - market and food center going for 2.5 months renovations fm 9/5/22 - 1/8/22 let hope for a better dinning area after this...
Good for family and friends diining. Variety of foods to choose from (halal n non-halal).
Nice hawker centre. A lot of Malay/Indian stalls, but there are Chinese ones too. Many stalls work until late so you can eat or have a beer later in the evening.
Came for the pratas. Tried at both of the popular stalls on separate occasions (both located in the middle row).
Never once disappointed with the service or the food. Queues at times were very long but the staff taking the orders and the cooks were fast and efficient (like a production factory).
The pratas were crispy but soft and the curries, whether dal, fish or mutton curry were to die for. Personally I prefer the dal. Both shops were very generous with their curry servings and will accede with your request for seconds or extra helpings of curry.
However, like almost all food centre (hawker centre) in Singapore, it tends to be stuffy with odd combinations of tables and chairs (number of chairs may differ from one table to the next).
Who cares when the food is that good and priced reasonably!
Highly recommended Pork Soup Stall! Sold out by 3pm according to the boss.
Alot of varieties food near to teh tarik restaurant
I haven't eaten here for a long time. I like Malay food. There are many delicious foods here. The price is cheap and delicious.. Especially the Malay mutton soups (Mutton soups) Stall 58.= and Mutton chop. ..First class.stall 55... Chinese food, you can try that one (Chinatown porridge)...
Limit the Nasi Padang (stall 80) and rojak. It was nice.
It's a large hawker with stores and food courts nearby. It's a very beautiful hawker, and my wife is also able to accept it.
A hawker center with a local feel. There are many Malay dishes, all of which are cheap and delicious. I often come here when there is an event at a Japanese kindergarten and I need to have lunch. I recommend Mee Goreng.
Plenty of seats, delicious food, but little parking.
Stall 55 delicious canai bread 😋
There are many stalls and the prices are generally good and cheap. And delicious. There is a standard,
