Reviews of Bukit Panjang Hawker Centre & Market
Update Oct 2024
Some things just don't change. How awesome!! Amazing roti! What a hidden gem! Totally recommended!!
Previous post
This is a great place to get traditional food. You will know which shops are popular as there are often a long line!
I totally recommend the $1 Kopi (aka coffee) and the nice traditional noodles (in the pic). You get to choose any other add-ons to your noodles. I chose the luncheon and an egg, and it cost $3.
Great value for money. Totally recommended. We'll be back tomorrow
$4.5 for Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle (small)
Nice place with a big masjid and big shopping mall. There is a beautiful masjid as a sightseeing monument and this is on the way to Jurong bird park. The cafeterias inside the mall has variety of eating options.
There are number of food options from Chinese, Japanese, and Indian. The price of the food is relatively cheap. Recently renovated.
Wide variety of yummy dishes and affordable prices.
Tried Yu Kee Duck Rice and Kway Chap.
Very smooth and tender kway.
Platter of duck meat with assorted kway chap items, let you have best of both world.
However avoid peak hours as getting a seat will be challenging.
Decent food nothing exceptional. Environment is good for a hawker centre
Nice char kway teow by this stall Father and Son. The kway teow is moist and nicely fried with fried pork skin (bak you). Utensils are covered nicely with plastic cover. However tho the stall mentioned price starts at $3, the stallholder asked me if I want a $4 or $5 version. We bought two plates of $4 kway teow. This stall is inside NTUC Foodfare and near to LRT. There is ample parking in B1 and B2. Do try it if you are around the area.
Reach there around 7pm, half of the stalls there already closed
But still able to find some good food
Most of the store during weekdays, Prices for food are the same as the nearby coffee shops except the coffee store by NTUC
Bright, airy and spacious hawker centre under a contemporary steel roof design, even come with a nice corner for children, and a TV that attracts many seniors in the afternoon.
Many options, Western, Thai steamboat, Halal, Ayam Penyet, Japanese, curry rice, and standard Chinese hawker foods.
再来阿嫲mee sua is really 古早味,delicious n reasonable price at S$4, you get 3 special home made meat ball, few slice pork, pork liver n black mushroom. Worth it n not food n soup not too salty 👍🏻
Service is rated 4 stars because the lady who attend to customer for orders doesn’t put on a smile, she doesn’t approach you n ask for your order, even she has finished with the customer before you.
Atmosphere at this hawker centre is spacious but carpark is far.
Overall experience is good 😊.
Abang Tek Terik - Home Made Halia-O, Taste very good in the morning and make the day fresh.
Coffee and food are reasonable priced. Fishball noodles are good but stall operate from about 10.15am instead of 9.30am as stated on their stall.
Cheap and a lot of food choices. I like the Lor Mee, Mala, Mookata, 五香 etc!
Good selection of local food. Reasonable pricing
One of the best hawker centres I have visited. Clean and orderly and a great variety of food to choose from. Price are reasonable.
Airy hawker center with decently clean toilet facilities. Decent selection of food at affordable prices, especially the Mookata! Level 2 has a wet market with various shops ranging from flowers to shirts along with the occasional roadshow showcasing goods. Not especially crowded on weekdays.
Very good addition to the Bukit Panjang neighbourhood, lots of food choices there and generally friendly prices. Actually the entire area is great for a short breakfast "trek", there's a wet market, supermarket, random food stalls and street stalls all around!
Possible to find cheap and good food. We visit once a full moon to enjoy the cheap noodle.
Vegetarian stall caifan ($6) was not bad - especially brown rice, tofu skin, mushrooms, egg. Curry and green vege were okok.
Though many seats are blocked to ensure safety distancing dinning, was still able to get seats after a short wait as diners tends to eat n go. Place feels cleaner, maybe cos of the lesser crowd now.
There are 2 entrance/exits, one near the lift and the other near the drink stall. Making it easy to get in and out of the hawker without hassle.
Convenient and price competitive food can be found here. Though I don't understand the rationale of pricing the food at $2.90, why not just make it $3? Can be crowded at times, but there are other eatery nearby. Having more options is always good. Can't really talk much about the food, it's just normal.
Modest-sized hawker centre. Food is pretty good although a bit less value-for-money compared to some other food centres. Deducted one star as the utensils were not properly cleaned at both of the stalls I visited, and still had some chilli sauce stains.
Good varieties of cooked food like the famous Ah Mah mee sua, duck rice, Lou Mee etc... and best of all, there is usually a dish at economy price range of below $3 for each stall; prawn mee at $2.9 or Lou mee at $2.7:)
Great heartland's market, fresh fruits galore and lots of promotions and special offers. But getting run down. Pretty much needs a total refurbishing and refreshing
From opening until now, can see many stalls have closed or changed. Still very crowded during weekends for the hawker center. Just now, I am very impressed by this new cleaner at the hawker center. A tall, thin Chinese guy. He is very hardworking, efficient and polite to clear the tables. Thumbs up, uncle and keep up the good work! 👍👍👍
Environment is pleasant - airy and clean. Food is incredibly run-of-the-mill though. Not sure why some stalls even have long queues. If you ask me where I can find an average hawker centre - I’ll point you to this one.
Only 1 halal stall is open. The rest are perpetually closed. The mee goreng there is superb though. Ample portion, not sticky.
A lot of food at level 1 although not all open at the same time. The teochew noodle stall is one of the best here and indeed this region. Nothing much on 2nd level because most stalls already left.
Grear food that is sure to satisfy any taste buds. Prices are on the affordable side of things. An ice milk tea is $1.10. Hard to find such prices nowadays
A rather new hawker place. The prices in this hawker is reasonably priced (minimum $2.50). Didn't try every stall, but there are 3stalls I want to recommend (sorry no pics).
1) Soup stall (The second column, second last stall): the soups are so delicious and of many varieties and it's a light choice. They also offer brown rice as an alternative although I wouldn't say it taste good. The soups seem to have been left to simmer so all the flavours have combined.
2) Carrot cake stall (second column, last stall): It opens from 4.30am to 4.30pm, usually I love to buy it for breakfast. It's$3, but the portion is good, and the carrot cake is really tender(?), and the whole thing is slightly moist. Unlike some other stalls in SG which the carrot cake is just dry or the egg is sticking to the carrot cake, this stall makes the perfect combination.
3) Lor mee stall (last row): My childhood food. It used to be at Fajar and I would eat it when I visit my grandparents. I was so happy when it shifted to somewhere nearer to my home. I intro my friends to try too, and they approve the taste too! I don't know how to describe but I guess just the yellow noodles are not oily, the gravy is not too thick(paste-ty), beansprout, meat, fish and egg is also given, making me so satisfied with every mouth
This place has quite a variety of food selections. The price is very affordable too. I visited around 1:45pm, and noticed that place is not crowded. Another plus point is the place well ventilated too.
My family will visit about once a week. Our favourite stalls are
1. Mala hot pot ( cheaper than other stall as it does not include soup base cost ) and 烤鱼
2. prata (nice curry and fluffy pratas)
3. indian rojak (like their bee hoon goreng and indian rojak with very nice potatoes),
4. chicken rice (tender chicken even fir breast meat)
5. hainan curry stall.
6. indian drink stall manage by chinese. (love their teh halia -strong ginger )
keep up the good work
Hawker food at good price. Wide variety of food. Amoy Lor Mee is one of the famous and popular stall in this hawker centre. This hawker centre is using a new concept. It is very spacious.
Love the vibes of this hawker centre! It definitely can be rather crowded at times but it is the influx of people gives the place an amazing buzz. The price of the food is reasonable and there is a lot of stalls to choose from. I really like the Bar Chor Mee in particular.
Wide variety of food & drinks available! Convenient basement parking space beneath hawker centre. The Al Iman mosque is just at the back, before the MSCP (Multi-Storey Car Park) entrance. There's a wet market on level 2 & supermarket on level 3! Also, there's a great "Bangkit Market" nearby, within 1-2 minutes walk, with some banking, town council & fantastic shops with great bargains! (",)
Nice food. Wide selection. Clean and not hot.
Nice and modern environment. Food is so so.
There is quite a diversity of food stalls. But my favourite yong tau foo stall where i get wholesome yet tasty food has moved to another place. The Indian rojak is surprisingly reasonably priced if you refrain from choosing prawn fritters or cuttlefish. The so-called wet market upstairs really has nothing much to offer even the Fairprice. Theres a ngoh hiang stall which usually has a good variety! Like the liver roll, vege roll and spring roll. The haypiah is not very crispy though.
There is a great variety of food, from Indian rojak to Western food. Definitely a nice place to go for more food options. Also, the centre is very spacious and not stuffy.
Managed by Foodfare. Very spacious with plenty seating capacities. Some old school stall selling good noodles. Crowded on weekend.
I like old Tiong Bahru style of shopping, this is a downsized place of it. Crowded and full of life. If you ever wonder what you want to get here, think of old time Pasar Malam. Decent $2.50 chicken rice and fruit stalls are good. I may over exaggerated but you can see for yourself.
New & clean. Lots of food! Chicken rice is nice. Bak Cho Mee, wantan Mee and loh Mee are yummy too. Market upstairs despite few stalls but fish and vege are fresh and reasonable price
I ordered 'Ah Mah' traditional soup noodles. It was value for money. This dish brought fond memory of my mum's home cook food. A bowl of fragrant piping hot soup with noodles drizzles of chinese wine 'Shao Xin Chew'. I liked the chewy tasty meat balls, sliced lean meat, muchrooms. I had eaten this dish several times, however on two occasions I found the soup tasted slightly salty. This dish is quite popular you may need to queue for 30 minutes to place your order during peak hours.
Have a simple breakfast at Babgkit Foodfare and proceeded towards BAKE along the rolling hills where the water pipeline is located. Early in the morning, nice and cool. Great time to explore the community vegetable gardens located at Petit Park. Totally satisfying
😘😘😘
Food prices reasonable. Try the Lor Mee, fishball/minced meat noodles, wonton noodles, chicken rice. Other stalls are not too shabby too. Coffee and tea cheap @80 cents.
Few good stalls here like Ah Ma Mee sua is my favourite! Maybe I am biased but as a Fuzhou I really love to sample MEE Sua that I came across. I happened to be able to see that they are using mee sua made in Muar, Malaysia. Not the typical factory made! Worthy of the price with so many “liao” inside!
Other than this, the fried carrot cake stall is also not bad. And their speed is astonishing! Almost like 20 seconds after you ordered you can get your carrot cake.
And... not to forget their super cheap subsidized coffee!
This place has a basement carpark, relatively clean and prices reasonable. Try out the viet food, dry hand made noodles, dessert stalls and many others. Service at the western food stall is terrible though.
Very clean with big, clean toilets. Various stalls selling different types of food eg. Western, Chinese, Malay, Indian and Vietnamese. Reasonable prices. Must try the dessert stall.
Fair variety of food choices, fair quality. Recommending the lor mee and carrot cake. The dessert stall is way below expectation, very rough shaved ice and slow service.
Feels like a good old hawker centre although it's newly opened. Great variety of hawker food at cheap prices. Peanut soup is great, so is Teochew kway teow mee, mee siam, mee rebus, mee soto, char kway teow.......all good and cheap
New hawker center with a variety of food. Just that the toilet is at second floor
Spacious and with a lots of different food variety. Downside, the carpark is smaller compared to typical. Drive slower and be more gracious in the carpark.
Too small with little halal choices.
However on a positive note, the Indian Muslim stall is fine and reasonably priced.
Relatively new hawker centre run by NTUC Foodfare, clean and airy at the corner of Bukit Panjang Road and Pending Road. Hawker food is on the ground level and a market on the upper level. Walking distance from Pending LRT STN.
Many choices of food at reasonably cheap price - Chinese, Indian, Muslim, Vietnamese food available. My favourite is the lor mee and duck noodles.
Coffee is cheap 60 cents, most of the food prices resonable, one noodle stall price is cheap less then $2.50 and long Q
Not spoil with choice but have decent selection of food. Close quite early, 9pm plus most of the stalls are closed.
Many famous food stores here. The coffee from the store with green signboard (didn't catch the store name) is one of the best local coffee I had.
Good mix of food. Many stalls closed around 8pm. Ventilation needs improvement.
First time at this hawker centre. Tried the am ma mee sua... It was really nice. Wished this was closer to me.. I live in the East and have never visited Bukit Panjang before.
Not all stalls are open. Quite a majority closed on Saturdays around 5pm... don't know if this is the result of less business from Covid-19
Great vegetarian lormee and kopi!
Recommended stalls are Ah Ma Mee Sua, YouXiang Teochew noodle (with long queue) and Xing BanMian
Place is airy. Prices are very reasonable, starting from $2.50 for a bowl of noodles.
Normal hawker center, busy bec is the only hawker centre around..hot n no stuffy inside too.. Food choices are good and comprehensive..
Veggie and fish stalls at L2 were closed. Food courts are less crowded. ATM machined were removed....
Spacious and lower than average pricing for food and drinks. A cup of coffee starts from 60 cents.
Good food; airy; but table abit dirty. Nice theres water cooler too 13.8.2021
Great and cheap to reasonable price food place for lunch and dinner, and a small pasar upstairs.
Many food options and price reasonable. Will return . Food tasty
High ceiling, well ventilated.... Can comfortably eat even on hot days
Variety of food and dazzling array of products
Roasted chicken rice just for 4 dollars
Sison vegetarian food
Typical Hawker Center at affordable pricing.
Coconut sauce rice $3.50, fried beans $3
It was recently renovated. It’s very nice and worth eating.
The Indian Muslim Food 💯 (e.g. Rojak Mamak, Nasi Goreng Combo)
