Reviews of Chinatown Singapore
Love it here, the atmosphere, the people, the food. Absolutely amazing experience
Chinatown Street Market is a vibrant district filled with souvenirs, local snacks, and unique finds.
Great central location to see attractions, eat well and sleep!
If Chinatown looks more or less like the same worldwide to you, you may find some fun searching for graffitis in this one. They are here and there hidden at different corners telling you about the ordinary lives there in the past.
There is also a street with shade showing you how the shops were like.
This is a really interesting place to visit - if only to window shop and generally walk around. Interesting, clean and with a comfortable feel. Recommended.
One of the happening places. You can get multiple shopping options, food options and also restaurants. It's huge and more beautiful in the evening.
Definitely tourist spot, so many souvenir stalls. A beautiful complex with lots of vintage buildings that were well cared. But i dont think it's a trendy place.
Very fortunate the rain stopped ! And able to walk around Chinatown during CNY 2023. Stalls out on full force pushing their festive wares. And quite a big crowd doing last minute new year shopping in prep for ushering in the Year of the Rabbit. Best time to walk around Chinatown.
Good Place to purchase souvenirs or some other Chinese cultural stuff. You even get a lot of variety of local and Chinese food. In general a good place to roam around a bit but is generally very crowded.
This is just like any other chinatown in the world. One thing that makes it different though, it is home to Kele, the most delicious pineapple tarts and pineapple balls in Singapore. Make sure you buy some to take to your home country.
Best time to visit before CNY , the place is so vibrant and this is where you stock up all your CNY snacks
There are many places in Singapore to enjoy your holiday and Chinatown is one of them. For me it’s the best place to buy souvenirs and gifts. Cheap prices and many choices.
Many delicious food you can choose here.
Tips : bring your hat and sunglasses when you go on midday.
What a fun place to visit! Loved the shopping and the food. This is definitely a must do while visiting Singapore! Take time for a meal in the hawker center and be sure to check out all the handmade goods hidden among the tourist traps. There are some beautiful shops! The people were lovely but there was a sign warning of pick pockets, so pay attention.
Just walk out from the MRT there are so many stall and eatery around . You can get most of the thing from this market . And you can have some nice photo walk over to the heritage lane.
Nice place For a fascinating peek into Singapore’s Chinese culture and history, Chinatown is good place to start. Here, you’ll enjoy a mix of heritage visits to museums, shopping as well as a good variety of food options, sure to leave a traveller happy and satisfied at the end of the day.
Chinatown easily makes it into my top 10 must do’s in Singapore. Huge variety of shopping and a delight to walk around.
MRT makes it easy to get to & from.
My favourite place to get medicinal products from but also great for souvenirs and gifts. Spend the day and see the temples as well.
Famous Chinatown street that directly connects you to the MRT station. Full of people with lots of eateries and souvenirs shops
Nothing special about the place, same as any Chinatown
Lots of shops and restaurants
CLEAN and walkable space
Great place to pick up cheap souvenirs or grab a bite at a restaurant or hawker centre. Architecture is unique, from the shophouses to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Many different food options, including the Chinatown food street and Chinatown complex. Easy access from Chinatown MRT station, from both downtown and northeast lines.
A nice place, especially when marveling at the temples for their classic architecture and impressive sculptures. However, outside the temples, there isn’t much to see as when we went around noon, none of the markets were open and the streets were kind of cramped and narrow.
Good place to buy culture souvenirs but a tourist trap as well. Great place to take in interesting sights, sounds & aromas and enjoy the “flavors” of Singapore’s Chinatown. Every 1st time visitor should stop by here & Serangoon Road when coming to Singapore.
Iv been there for serval times to my research. This place always getting busy one of the best in Singapore and really nice there shopping stuff and foods. Its not that expensive in here. You’ll find some shops that brings you cultural products. And music in the town ones cross the road in middle town is really feels to walk all over the town. So much tourist and got more contributions there to go. Must visit here
Chinatown Singapore is a must visit place, I have been here on numerous occasions, enjoyed lovely food and shopping here. This place is very good for shopping as you can get gift items at a very cheap price. Food is also a must try attraction here. Better to come here by MRT and drop at Chinatown metro station.
Chinatown in Singapore is a wonderful district that offers a rich cultural experience. It’s a great place to immerse yourself in the local heritage, explore vibrant markets, and enjoy authentic cuisine.
The area is full of charming shops, where you can find everything from unique souvenirs to traditional goods. The bustling streets are lined with excellent food options, ranging from street food to cozy restaurants offering delicious local dishes.
Walking through Chinatown, you’ll encounter beautifully preserved architecture and lively street scenes that capture the essence of Singapore’s multicultural vibe. It’s a delightful place to explore and makes for a memorable part of your trip.
One of the best location in Singapore. Lots of attractions, many food stalls and also shops. Its always crowded and full of people. If you staying in this area be prepared that it will get louder at night.
Cheap foods and cheap gifts is everywhere. MRT is just right in the middle, easy access to anywhere from and to chinatown.
Also you can find the famous michelin chicken rice in this place
The place is awesome better than what I think it will be 😂😂😂This is a best place to buy a vacation give away , good prices and the best place to experience and try some good dishes
Best place to roam 🚶♀️ and shopping 🛍️ in Singapore! #travel #shopping #singapore
As the name suggests, it is a market of chinese items. You get all soveire and all kinds of gifts that you want to bring back home for family and friends at a cheaper rate than the other tourist shops. After wandering in the whole market, we managed to find good quality and reasonably priced gifts. The prices are fixed and same at all the shops in the market. I was surprised to see a hindu temple in the market. The clothes are like ones in our sarojini market and prices of brands. Overall, a lively place full of festive lights, where we also found some locals dancing and enjoying their time leisurely. The best part is that MRT is literally inside the market, such a superb connectivity.
This place is a lot to explore and if you visit Singapore, I suggest you don't skip this place and you will find a lot of souvenirs here.
The vibrancy and buzz from this area is fantastic. Great stalls, eateries, bars and cultural heritage to visit. Beautiful temples and monuments.
China town has historical Heritage in Singapore. Event street is filled with something interesting, including temples mosques and buddhist temples.
A great place to visit, and also to pick some souvenirs.
A must visit place for shoppers and travellers. You will find the chinese culture, products and foods here. The chinese people lives here. You will found temples, roadside vendors and the culture in every road you will pass. There is also some street fully covered by restaurants. You will found mouth watering food here. But all of them are not halal so i couldn’t eat them. You will find cheap products but in reliable condition. DON'T miss to check this on your Singapore visit.
Excellent place to shop for affordable variety of souvenirs, fruits, markets, restaurants from all over the world, temples, mosque and great meeting place.
A place where the Chinese first settled down upon their arrival from Mainland CHINA. Today, this place is THE place where it will be lighted up during the major CHINESE traditional festivals. Pictures attached were decorations for Y2018 mid autumn festival.
So many options to choose from! Honestly, the best Hawker experience for me in Singapore.
02-189 Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken, soy chicken and beancurd
02-84 fatty ox hk kitchen, beef brisket noodles
02-008 old amoy chendol, traditional chendol
This is a great place to see Chinese heritage. Indian temples can be seen too. This has the famous Tintin shop. Must visit.
Place to buy your Singapore souvenirs... food is more expensive than hawker centre's.. but still well priced compared to other countries... easy to get to from the Metro ..
Omg.... lot of shps to shop around. N everthing seems cheap here. Lot of eateries. But totally non veg. N chinese food. Finally found MC Donalds n enjoying my meal.
Good place to shop, dine and spend quality time at the Buddha tooth relic temple. At walking distance from Chinatown MRT station.
Perfect place to take a stroll and enjoy the atmosphere. You can load up on souvenirs, tea and local food specialities. There is also a Chinese temple nearby.
Wonderful district filled with all sorts of venues, temples and architectural styles. Lots of pedestrian spaces too.
Definitely a place to see when visiting Singapore. Some great food stalls and not so great souvenirs. It's not the clean and hygienic Singapore which makes it interesting and gives it an authentic touch.
Such a buzz of culture and activity. Dont forget to peek off the beaten track and the bargains at the speciality stalls selling rice calligraphy, and ancient Chinese herbs/remedies, Old Chan Kee and the infamous Michellin starred Hainese Chicken Rice. Oh, and the architecture. So beautiful.
Good walkabout, busy without being hassled from vendors. Good selection of restaurant for local foods. Close to mrt.
Amazing lively place. I was lucky to visit near the Chinese New year. Whole ambiance was amazing.
Lots of beautiful restaurants and murals, the vibe is amazing, easy to get here via public transport too.
Historical place of Chinese culture. Also find beautiful Hindu & Buddist temple on the same street.
The tooth relic temple...good street food...perfect place to shop for souverniers...and connected to MRT ...a must night market place to visit in Singapore
Too much tourist stuff sold
In general “low quality” Chinese food
A one time place to visit
Smith street reasonable in Food but better go to the Hokka center towards the north of Smith street, does not look flash but the food and beer is a lot cheaper there and Food tastegreat
Local hokka centre such as:
China town complex at Smith street
Maxwell Road food centre
I suggest, don’t eat at Trengganu street, to me is a rip off and tourist look like in the zoo, ready to watch!
Apology for the hard words, in my 17 years crossing the China town it becomes extremely bad in terms of bee exposed in, i call it lousy eating places
However it’s you choice
If you want to have a great clean massage go to the people place complex, take the stairs up where the MRT entrance is, not the places with the girls and short skirts! There you go for sexual massage.
Some TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) at temple street at good too
Visit mosque street and the Indian temple
At the Beginn of smith street is a Chinese temple small one
Lots and lots more to say....
Explore yourself and eat only where the locals are, it is all save food!!!!
You are more likely to get food poised in your hotel then at the hokka centre eher locals eat
You have to come here if you are a tourist, plenty of shops to walk through, find you gifts for yourself or friends and family. You need to barter otherwise they will make a fortune off you. After a while the shops do start to all look the same, but there is always something new that will take your eye.
Was here early September to visit the temple and surrounding. Stuck with delightful at Bee Cheng Hiang, BBQ pork shop. In the past, my friends had bought for me few times these famous jerky. Finally, I made it for the very first time to taste this Singapore's national heritage, the famous and tasty bakkwa.
It was beautiful with lots of good bargain....I enjoyed the walk and the variety in the shops bought my first ever chopsticks there🤩🤩
It was nice to visit China Town after long time. COVID-19 indeed has been bad and lots of businesses were affected and it's very evidently visible as most of the shops there are still closed. While we can see few tourists coming over; hopefully now that Singapore has opened up the borders for tourists, hopefully we can gradually see businesses reopening and crowd getting back to pre-Covid levels. Captured a very nice Mural that I thought should post here. Do visit China Town for more of these.
Nice place to soak in the Chinese architecture and way of life. Also great place to buy souvenirs at a good price. Recommended!
Great place to have local food and shop at cheap prices
They have the most amazing food court! Shopping is great all over Singapore.
You must visit this area when you visit Singapore! Buy any signature food, souvenirs, and whatsoever at affordable prices. The more u get in, the more unique things u'll see.
Don't miss the chances of visiting chinatown during the CNY period 👍
The tourist areas are fun, but be sure to take the side streets and visit the "real" Chinatown
Great history, great food oulets lots too see and explore in this precinct.
Very touristic, but I still enjoyed it. Nice place to eat good food and the bouddhiste temple is amazingly beautiful
Best china town yet, food is amazing locals friendly
Nice Chinese place with plenty of food and shops. Chinese temple is the highlight.
They have train that go straight to Chinatown, wonderful experience
Most shops (wet product) close at around 3:00 have to go earlier
Many stalls and restaurants.. nothing special.. the Buddah temple was good... and the hindu temple were having an event .. overall on experience
So much to see! Just go for a walk around the streets.
An experience... Very tourist, commercial. But great food.
It gives you a feeling that you are in China
I loved it
Lovely buildings people and food definitely a must visit
It is indeed a good market to buy local stuff
Nice place for budget shoppers
Nice place for souvenir shopping and food.
The largest and most visited tourist destination among the ethnic streets in Singapore.
It's so big and there are so many different attractions that it's not easy to see them all at once.
There are several hawker centers with restaurants, department stores, and temples.
Make a detailed plan in advance or you won't be able to get around without directions.
There are many souvenir shops, but there are not many that sell particularly famous or interesting items.
An impressive place with amazing scenery that combines modernity and the past.
Chinatown is Chinatown in Singapore. The name Chinatown comes from the fact that there was no running water at that time. The scene of oxcarts transporting water was very common in Chinatown, so Chinatown was called Chinatown.
Famous Chinatown neighborhood
💡The most popular one is that you can see three religious buildings on one road!
🔹James Mosque
🔹Mariamman Temple
🔹Buddha Tooth Relic Temple Longhua Temple, Singapore
There are also many characteristic buildings of oriental culture
There are also many famous delicacies here
You can stay here for at least half a day or even a day.
⭕️Here is a record of the relics, but the stores are not concentrated:
🔹Tiantian Hainanese Chicken Rice
🔹French Fold Telok Ayer: French crepe
🔹Lao Pa Sat: I heard that it is very beautiful at night, and many vendors sell grilled satay skewers.
🔹Laoban Douhua
🔹queic by Olivia: Chocolate cake is awesome but expensive
🔹Champion Bolo Bun: Ice and Fire Pineapple Oil
🔹99 Laoshu: Durian puffs, cendol (never heard of special foods)
🔹Dashiling: Visitors can pay $6 SGD (approximately NT$130) to go to the sky garden on the 50th floor. The sunset and night views are unparalleled and there are few tourists.
🔹Liaofan Oil Chicken Rice and Noodles Chinatown Store: There are also branches in Taiwan
🎁I saw a shop selling Singapore Tiger brand souvenirs, which is also located on the same side of the three temples. The price is a bit expensive, more expensive than in Taiwan. The price difference is negligible, they are available at Changi Airport, otherwise just compare prices.

The ice cream channel is not a professional introduction to tourist attractions.

Things that tourists spend money on are generally more expensive, but there are a lot of things to shop for. If you don’t buy anything this time, it’s okay. There are also many things that are quite special. It’s a place to buy some souvenirs and souvenirs.
A must-see during your stay in Singapore. You can get everything here - souvenirs, clothes, etc. There is also a fruit and vegetable stall and many cheap Chinese restaurants.
The prices here are obviously more affordable. I bought a super satisfying ice cream for only SGD1.
A bag of rambutan costs SGD 5, and a bag of mangosteen costs SGD 5. Both are one kilogram bag, which is great value.
Good shopping, good food and good shopping
A street with a strong Chinese flavor
This is Chinatown in Singapore, a neighborhood that serves cheap Chinese food and souvenirs. According to objective assessments, the food is not very good, it is only passable, you can visit it. Visit ancient pagodas and Chinese street architecture with many stages. Miifnh rated it okay
