Reviews of Chomp Chomp Food Centre
Food here is on the pricey side but the quality is decent. Most of the local food is available here for you to choose. had the oyster ommelette, bbq wings and hokkien mee. All are nice and worth a try if you are in the area. Not worth travelling for
What a surprise to find something freshly made and healthy in chomp chomp. No point burning calories and chomping down all the fried and oily stuff again.
Chanced upon this stall Irama that sells ramly burger and Sarawak popah. Weird combination but I was greedy and ill-disciplined. So I decided to try the “healthier option” of spring roll.
I was blown away. The dough was smooth and chews off easily. The ingredients were falling off the wrapping bec it was too much. The price was worth it bec it was really made with fresh ingredient.
Although the price was a bit steep at 6.80 for two popiah it was worth it.
Pleasant surprise!
An amazing food center to get a great assortment of BBQ delights for dinner. There were a couple of stalls selling similar food items but quality wise they were almost the same, and it is really down to your preference as to which one you go to.
Highly recommend trying their BBQ chicken wings, satays (pork satay was really tasty!), fried carrot cakes and seafood (BBQ stingrays, cockles etc). Pair these food with a big jug of sugar cane juice and it will be a very satisfying meal.
Do note that there is only outdoor seating so it might get a little warm after a while. Since there are barbeque going on in most stalls, your clothes and hair will definitely smell like smoked food after the meal. Since this is a highly popular food center, waiting time for some stalls may go beyond 45minutes. The stall owners will usually inform you of their long waiting time so do order upon your own discretion.
The food here are very tasty and authentic especially the Lucy BBQ Seafood stall must try their grill stingray fish is fresh and tasty for other food too. The people we meet here are helpful and nice. We sure will come back here again.
The best way to try the local cuisine in SG is to visit the Hawker center. The Chomp Chomp Food Centre is one of the famous one. Thanks my friend Alice who took me there to try the yummy SG authentic cuisine . She knows the place well and we went there at around 5pm , she said that it would be crowded later in the evening and couldn't find a table or seats. People are very friendly , there are many small stores selling different kind of local dishes. Everything looks so nice and yummy , would like to try them all. Of course, we have picked all the famous dishes . I have enjoyed a wonderful evening of SG yummy local cuisine.
Great selection of food at Chomp Chomp.
However the best dish so far is the salted egg eggplant. Eggplant were mixed with pork or beef. But the flavors was good because the crispy texture of the salted eggs, juiciness of the eggplant and meat juries coats the eggplant.
The fried rice and noodles were good. The sambal sauce gives fried rice perfect kick of spice to the dish.
Skewers is okay even the stingray too. I had high expectations for stingray. Even grilled wings were okay. The deep fried wings are the best.
Enjoy the atmosphere of hawkers in Chomp Chomp.
Chomp Chomp Satay os the best. White Carrot cake from the first stall facing the road has been fabulous even if you take away. Fragrant and not oily👍
This place is known to be crowded. You can get seats by waiting a little. Generally, the food quality is better than most other places. All the typical favourite of Singaporeans like Oyster Omelette, Char Kway Teow, Fried Prawn noodle, satay and sugar cane juice are good and reasonably priced. Today, we catch a beautiful sky during the sun set.
Welcome to Food madness arena!! This is the place you want to be if you are a serious foodie. The ambiance here is a family friend environment, but it has become a tourist attraction. It’s still a great place to be with endless stalls of delicious delights.
Tip: Get there Early if you have a large group, getting a table is troublesome. There is number on your table be sure to remember it so when you order food you can give it to them. They will deliver the food to your table.
Place was v crowded and it was tough to find a table. Quality and price is extremely affordable. Highly recommend the hokkien mee, satay, stingray, carrot cake (at the entrance), cha quay tiao and popiah. Nothing gets more Singaporean than dinner at Chomp Chomp!
Went there on a Friday night, was crowded but did not take too long to find a seat for two. Had a variety of dishes and the food was all great. Special mention to the fried carrot cake, great value for money
Wonderful selection of stalls in this closely packed food court. Recent enhancements in this newly refurbished food centre makes it a joy to visit, esp for our foreign friends. Efficient table clearing - there's a good turnaround of cleared tables. We didn't have to wait long for a table. The hokkien char is good, so is the youtiao+jiuher stall - fantastic sauces. My niece always go for the wonton mee and the grilled stingray
The place where you can find food that makes Singapore special. Seating is quite hard to come by during peak hours and the styrofoam plates have the tendency to be blown off the table by strong gusts from the fan, but the food tastes awesome.
Recommend the stalls near the back of the food center as their quality tend to be better than the popular stalls near the entrance.
Food is amazing, my fav is the bbq stingray. Cheap food not like the other food center inside the city. U must try this place there is a lot of kinds of food to try and wait never forget to try their lemon sugar cane juice its so refreshing.
Very crowded from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm.
Quite small hawker centre, probably better to do takeaway.
There are many repeated stalls like the BBQ stalls selling sambal stingray, sugarcane drinks and hokkien mee. The BBQ chicken wings, carrot cake and satay seem to be popular.
The oyster omelette from one of the stalls is average, although the oysters are fresh.
I noticed that the BBQ stall near the entrance was quite rude to a waiting customer. Since there are other options, just order from other places.
Come with empty stomach and many friends because you will want to eat many different dishes. We tried everything from fried kwetiao, rojak, stingray, belacan vegetable, shaved ice, sugar cane water, chicken wings, and there were only 3 of us. We left the place feeling very full and satisfied..
Location is a bit far but it was worth it. Try not to come on monday because some stalls are closed. Some of them took a break on monday. Try to be there before 7, because it gets crowded very quickly.
If you like southern indian food, across the street from chomp chomp there is a good place for it..
We tried the famous satay bee hoon, Hainan beef noodles, hokkien mee, satay and sugar cane with lemon here. Food was flavourful but wait time was really long...better come early to order. If you can, sit outside where it's less stuffy
A contemporary view on the Satay cum Chicken wing industry of chompchomp operating within the constraints of a postmodern first world city; Singapore.
The satay prices of most of the stores are 70 cents but there is one that sells at 60 cents truly spoiling the market. Given that satay is almost an perfect substitute, barring slight differences in charring and skewering, the bold decision within the perfect competition structure to give a 10 cent discount probably would encourage others to mirror this decrease in price. However this is not respected or obeyed by the rest of the competitors, contrary to expectation and results in an increased demand for the satay of the cheaper store, as would be expected.
However, the 60 cent satay like not v nice ah so not worth lol.
It was not tough to find seat on a weekday evening but on a weekend evening, we got to walk around for quite a while to hunt down seats. The big big fries with Mentaiko and truffle flavour were savoury!
Floor probably too slippery when wet? Don't understand why the open rooftop when the fc is already so small...
But plus points for relatively cheap food compared to Newton fc
Clean toilet bagus 🤣
Carrot cake (literal stall name) is good; down the same row hokkien mee is nice (30min queue); bbq wings can't go wrong
Satay mee hoon was very meh, actual portion was small and left me still hungry, it only looks a lot cause they gave a lot of gravy.
Stingray from Lucky bbq was delicious, stingray was very tender and the sambal is good. Rice was nice too.
Satay and bbq chicken wings from 汪大神was very disappointing. Satay sauce was nice but the pork was very thin and taste was quite lacking. Bbq chicken wings were burnt in some places and tasted bitter in those areas. Also not marinated well and taste was very lacking too. Very disappointed.
The place is super crowded and it's really a test of skills in getting seats around here. Their satay, stingray, fried kway teow (black) and cheng teng were okay. The only interesting thing about here is that they have tower sugar cane. Other than that it just taste pretty much like any other hawker food.
Wanted to eat the other more famous fried oyster but it was closed so chose this.
It had the right mix of eggs and flour, close to 50%. Oyster was enough for a $5 portion. Dish was not too oily.
Only thing is that some parts are a tad overcooked.
Nice place with various food. With reasonable prices. Friendly stallholders and good ambiance. Although the place is abit small and may have to hunt for seats for quite some time but the food is worth it. Good for going in groups to have a feast or just a small meal between you and your partner.
The best food hawker in singapore for me. Too many delicious stalls here. Its like local food hawker.
Authentic Singapore experience! Outdoor food court, no AC, hot AF, crazy packed, a hundred different Kitchens going full tilt filling the air with the delicious aromas of a hundred different delicacies and the sound of store reps spruiking their wares, assuring customers that they are the best store there. Love it.
Great food and place for seafood, drinks and slack. However food here is limited but i can assure that you wont be disappointed! The food here is good, but you will have to find the right stalls to eat. Bad point: really pushy water vendors! Will keep asking you until you buy something~
Good place to go for local food. Price is reasonable. Expect hawker centre service and sitting. The cleaners do clean up the tables quite fast.
All the good hawker food in one place! The satay is flavorful and tender, and comes with the peanut gravy with a dollop of pineapple puree. The fried oyster with egg is another good one - juicy small-medium sized oysters! Just make sure that you specify the price (size) of sugar cane juice you want to order.
Delicious food with many choices in this hawker center. A little stuffy but you get the smell of barbecue in the air. Go early because it gets busy, and seating is limited.
The Damage (no drinks): S$10-20 for two
Popular food center in the Serangoon Gardens area... great for a night out with friends due to its assorted BBQ and satay options. We liked the Hokkien Mee from Ah Hock
~~TRY😍:
// Hokkien Mee ~ Ah Hock, Stall 27
~~OKAY🙂:
// Hokkien Mee ~ Chia Keng, Stall 3

Very nice Her Cho .. n the Kang kong is nice too BBQ stingy ray is fresh .. price reasonable .. overall good n boss is very friendly guy 😊
Recommended by a local and DEFINITELY worth the trip! BBQ stingray, carrot cake and sugarcane juice all for an amazing price!
Definitely the atmosphere of an outdoor hawker center. This壕煎is my favorite in Singapore. I don't know why people recommend the other stall Ang Sa Lee fried oyster near the front of the center, they are not close in terms of taste. Chomp Chomp Fried oyster wins and you can tell by the number of people ordering from this stall vs the other.
It's a rlly lively place with years of relationships. The hawkers here are very very close to each other . It's a must have to get the stingray sambal and cockles! SHIOK SHIOK
Tried one of the 海南beef noodle. Taste great and good service. The only thing they should consider to have is a little saucer of chilli sauce with prawn paste. That will be a fantastic!
Nice place to spent an evening. Good food and drinks. Nice ambience. Must try bbq stingray and sugarcane juice jug.
Great food here. Theres a wide variety of choices such as lok lok, carrot cake chendol, and satay!! More options include hokkien mee, sugarcane drink etc. Food is affordably priced. Satay auntie gave 3 satay sticks less tho :( choose to sit in the open space area because the enclosed space might be a little smokey! Good supper place!!
Tasty BBQ foods and some of the best satay that we had so far! Surprisingly easy to find dinner seats on a Tuesday night.
Local place, local taste. Authentic food and not too much tourist. Very affordable prices.
A popular place with lots of delicious local delights. Do avoid the peak hours though. The food's worth the wait, but be prepared for a long wait.
Hawkers = Singapore. I had to take the bus to get here and it's worth the trip
All in one place, with variety of local food. It’s kinda hard to find seats during peak hours. Need to prepare yourself that waiting time was minimum 30mins at 8pm on Sunday. Definitely a place to come with tourists and group of friends so you can share and order many dishes and try it out at once!
Dabao during 2HA. Some shops are closed but more than half of the stalls are around. BBQ, chicken wings, hokkien mee, satay and drink stalls are up. With wanton mee and all 'bout chicken as well. Recommend to dabao earlier before the crowd and go home to dine 💯
Nice food centre, nice local food choice
I always like this stall. Uncle always served me with nice beautiful satay👍👍👍
Yummy yummy 😋 yummy 😋
Nice supper place, plenty of variety food stalls, mostly Chinese food. Nearby have Malay food stalls and Indian food stalls.
The best hawker centre in my opinion. Not too big but packed with good food. Hands doen the best sambal stingray, hokkien mee, carrot cake, pie tin and sugarcane juice! The only downside is its accessibility (only by bus).
Never disappoints.
But gotta ninja for your seats.
Remember your table number when you order so they know where to bring your food.
Good local place for food. I had some stingray, mussels and vegetables and was very good. Paid a total of $30 SGD . Would definitely recommend to my friends
Location: Serangoon Gardens
Service: Order from any stalls, tell them the table number, pay and they will served to you.
Price: ok
Taste: very good, recommend sting ray, bbq chicken, tower sugarcane.
Atmosphere: lots of fans, not stuffy but seats can be hard to find.
Pros: Price, taste and variety of local food.
Cons: Finding seats.
Must try : $2 for large cup of fruit juice from Charlie’s corner, goreng pisang from chomp chomp satay, chicken wings from chomp pang huat
Food there is quite good but it’s very crowded and difficult to find a seat!
Awesome food!!
Reasonable price!!
Highly recommend
Char kway teow here is one of the best. Good wok hei and seasoning. Fried really well. Pairs well with chilli.
Hokkien mee was really good. We went there at about 1030pm. So the stock was really thick and fragrant by then... really really tasty!
Compact food court plenty of eatery. It was recently refurbished. There are a number of stalls selling seafood; grilled squid, fish etc. Price is similar to other food court of such. Finding a seating place can be challenging during peak hours. Nearest bus stop is only a 1min away.
I remember eating here as a kid and wanted to visit again after coming back to Singapore from overseas. The food was just as good as I remembered but was disappointed that the Ice Kachang store closed.
Good place to have bbq seafood. I like the chicken feet noodle from aunty towards end on left row.
There are skewers as well. Usually after 4pm more stalls will start to open.
Dont forget to order sugar cane!
Love the various food options offered here!
Very good and affordable food!! Friendly hawkers too
Too crowded and smoky.. but not bad to eat here some time
Gathering of friends(locals & Malaysians). Had barbecued fish, sotong, satay, chicken-wings & zichar's foods.
In the nearly 35 years that I've lived in Serangoon Gardens, this is the food centre that's in the nearest vicinity where I can purchase and settle some of my meals.
I have fostered friendships with some of the hawkers. They even remember my life tales, things that I've told them from 3 years back and they ask me for updates whenever I rock by to buy my favourite dish from them again :)
One of the other best things is that I don't need to dine in and have the many fans blow at my food, as my house is situated just a 2 min stroll away
Had fried oyster,satay,stingray.
Cheap, big portion, veey filling each dish/drink, and clean. Fast service as well
This place is nothing to get excited about. Our chicken wings were pretty dry and seemed to be warmed up left overs.
The rojak was fine and tolerable. Most of the stall vendors were more than helpful.
Food so so … but is a good place for drink
I come here often for supper spot but there comes a time I really don't know what to eat. So I decided to try stalls that are not featured before or rave about and surprisedly it is a hit. Chicken rice, sugar cane with lemon and Indian style goreng. Do give these stall a try than the popular ones. You be surprised.
Nothing too outstanding with service. Normal Chompchomp/Hawker atmosphere.
Food's has a certain quality level. So that's their plus. :)
Went to the food centre 2nd time this week. Reach there around 4:50 pm. Want to order the fried Kway Teow and Hokkien mee as it is tasty, but the Fried Kway Teow is closed and Hokkien mee was only preparing to open, ready in only 30 mins time. No choice so switch to Satay beehoon (So..so), fried oyster omelette (So..so), fried carrot cake white ( Not so crispy) and satay mutton & porkwith pineapple sauce (near outside old gentlemen) - reasonably good. Will go after 5:15 pm so that most of the stalls will be ready.
It is the cheapest food center in Singapore, but in terms of quantity, at this price and portion, it is very cheap food in Taiwan!
Chomp Chomp Food Center might be smaller in size as compared to other hawker centers, but the place is packed like sardine almost every evening. 😁 Because food is especially good.
The number of stalls at Chomp Chomp Hawker Center is not large, but there are many delicious food options here. It's also clean. There are also hygiene indicators from A to C in front of each seat.
The hawker center is full of delicious food and has many flavors. There are many delicious local snacks here. . . A wide range of seafood dishes, stir-fried seafood, charcoal grilled chicken wings...
⭐️But I especially recommend the Rojak here (crispy oily ribbon, sour and sweet refreshing fruit tart with thick special sauce, and finally topped with peanut powder. The texture is especially must-try Singaporean style) salad. .
⭐️Satay (the sauce is also very special. You can taste the sauce mixed with fresh yellow corn. The extra aroma also brings out the peanut-based texture. It makes the sauce more layered), other delicacies And stir-fried Hokkien noodles... Stir-fried cabbage cakes. . .
Even the sweet water here is very large. Quite a bit!
(⭐️ PS: The stall will only open in the afternoon from 16:00 to 00:30, please take a break)
Apparently, this is Singapore's first ``planned'' hawker (see signboard), and it is a place where you can not only eat but also visit as a historical site.
The surrounding area is like Jiyugaoka in Japan, where there are a lot of shops, and it is also a wonderful area with large houses lined up.
It's far from the subway, so it's best to go by car.
More than half of the stalls are not open on Monday, so it is recommended to choose another time to come. The food is delicious. The outdoor location is very charming. It is really enjoyable to chat and dine under the dim light 😍
Oh my god! Return to the domestic night market in one second! The sizzling squid shouldn’t be too delicious!
They also have sizzling tofu and mace potatoes, and the boneless chicken fillet is the taste right at the entrance to elementary school! Kill it in minutes! Sisters, it’s time to rush!
I went there wanting to eat local food and it turned out well.
I think Singaporean food is a bit bland, but it suited my taste just fine.
It is very lively even at night, and the food is very delicious. However, in terms of transportation, if you are an independent traveler, you may have to transfer from the subway to the bus to get there, but it is definitely worth a try and experience the local culture.
The food at the stall is delicious and has strong taste.
And my favorite sugar cane water
But the space is too small. You need to avoid meal times, otherwise you will have to queue for a long time.
Authentic snacks and professional cleaning service. A must-visit place in Singapore.
