Reviews of Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre
All the best local food u can get! From chwee kueh, wanton mee, porridge, satay, fried carrot cake, all my favorites!!! Definitely will miss them when I'm back in Taiwan!
Good food selection, service is good so far from all the stalls I’ve tried.
Usually packed on peak hours and weekends so need to bring your patience.
Yet to try the popular lor mee stall.
My faves:
Bedok Chwee Kueh
Carrot Cake
Fresh Fruit Juice / Sliced fruit stall
You tiao/ bread stall
🚇 Clementi

Many stalls with nice food. Satay, braised pork, Wanton mee, satay mee hoon, laksa, fish soup, and many many more. A great place to feast on all hawker food.

1st Time eating there.
Pondok Abang Nasi Ayam Goreng very nice. Like how my grandma make.
The Prata shop next door is also good. Very soft prata and nice dalcha.
Located in the heart of Clementi, this hawker centre is super popular and always packed on weekends.
Although there is more than 1 carrot cake stall, the one at #01-45 Fried Carrot Cake is an institution that requires a queue of min 30-min. The other local favourite is at #01-28 Kian Seng Lor Mee, Prawn Mee and Laksa. There is also a branch of Michelin Bib listed Bedok Chwee Kueh that ply its trade there.
High traffic volume market and food Centre. It also have quite a number of great food here as well. Bedok Chwee Kueh, carrot cake, sliced fish soup (lunch and dinner) and soya sauce duck noodle.
Super crowded, especially during meal times. Quite a lot of people come here for meals, and there are quite a number of stalls that have super long queues. The porridge is probably the oldest school stall here, but the chicken rice, wanton noodles, carrot cake, and fish soup stalls have super crazy queues.
Consolidated ratings, individual ratings are updated at their respective stores:
Char Kway Tiao (Snow Mount store): 4 ⭐️
Chicken head 鸡头:4 ⭐️
Soon Lee porridge : 5 🌟
Carrot cake : 5 🌟
Whampoa Soy Milk : 5 🌟
Hawker with some long queuing stalls. I had the beed hor fun and it was great and worth the price!
Have not tried the other stalls, but I will eat here again if I happen to be near!
Was looking for the favourite Cha Kuay Teow but was not open so tried another stall which tasted very bad 😵, small pack for $4 and oyster egg $5, both just edible🤕. But the Whampoa soya bean was nice.
This is an ever bubbling food centre cum market, before covid and now, expecially after the recent re-opening. Many things could be bought here, including potted plants from the pop up stalls in the open space. Another new bread shop has sprung up since the covid days. But as it's the fasting month, understandably, a few Malay food stalls are open today. Still, we have the Teh Tarek to thank for after a yummy plate of wanton mee. Interestingly, at the dried goods stalls/shops is a traditional medical hall that's been here for a long time. It has my panacea for persistent cough. Reasonably priced, though risen with the trend, I've taken this since a decade ago whenever cough symptoms are felt. It's a slow but sure cure for me, else it'll become a persistent cough. Keep going.
Th food is definitely not bad. Ate 鸡头 chicken rice, $4 for a plate of chicken rice with add on intestine although the chicken portions is considered small. The stall Kee Hock’s Sliced Fish Hor Fun also not bad.
The pigs organ soup is my favorite and it’s liver is to my liking. Chili is nice. I grow up in West Coast and this is my mum favorite market too, where she get to network with her kakis...
I've not been here in the last 5 years and yet the food standard has increased!! The most awesome are the curry fish head rice and the chicken rice. AAAA++++
One of the more convenient spots to grab a meal in the morning, before catching MRT to work. Also a place with dinner options after hopping off the trains at Clementi station.
Minced pork mushroom noodles, wanton noodles, chicken rice, wok hei hor fun, sliced fish soup, chwee kway even! And not forgetting the trusty, reliable Soon Lee porridge stall serving up that pipping hot bowl of congee. So comforting after a hard day at work.
But lor mee is no longer available, as it serves the morning crowd till lunch.
Not the cheapest ready to eat food that one can find in the whole of Singapore, but in the face of escalating food prices, unless you cook every meal yourself, there is no realistic alternative!!!!🤷🤷♂️🤦🤦♀️🤷♀️🤦♂️
Some stalls just upped their prices again in recent weeks (wef 2 May 23). As customers, you can vote with your wallet, to eat or bring your business elsewhere (but the reality is stark)
Still exploring and will try more food. Porridge and fish noodles soup both good.
Local food at affordable prices! Relatively clean and not bad tasting. A lot of stalls to choose from.
Lots of nice food here. However, Soon Lee Porridge is closed on a Sunday.
Tried the Fried Carrot Cake, both black and white version. Personally, I am not into white carrot cake. This stall fry it so fragrantly and this is the best white version carrot cake I have had! It's savoury and each spoonful contain the radish bites and the saltiness is perfect! The black version is not to my liking, too sweet and one dimensional taste
Next time, go for the white fried carrot cake!
The only hawker centre at clementi central with a wide variety of food choices. Frequently visited by the community at clementi and west coast. Near to NUS, Singapore polytechnic , Ngee Ann polytechnic, SIM and SIT. Just 5 minutes walk from the clementi bus interchange and MRT station. Long queues always form at Hainanese curry rice, Hainanese porridge, chicken rice, wanton noodles, fried carrot cake during peak hours. Now it’s 8.30pm and quieter in the Covid19 era. It is also surrounded by 2 NTUC FairPrice supermarket and near to the polyclinic so can drop by for a meal after doing the necessary shopping and visit to the doctor.
Fried chicken wings are ok. Nothing particularly special.
Very nice delicious tasty 炒粿条. Get the regular sized version.
Chai Ho - Nice pork satay at 448 clementi central hawker centre. 1 stick $0.50. rice cake $0.70.
Many more stalls like fish soup, char kway teow, etc
Lot of delicious local foods. Must try the Satay Bee Hoon, fish soup and laska!!!
One of the malay stall at this market, named, Abang, selling chicken rice as well as other food. The chicken rice is really yummy. Highly recommended. Give it a try if you are around the area. Mode of transport, MRT, buses or cab.
Great selection of local delicacies!
Perfect place for breakfast, lunch & dinner!
Food centre , fresh market and shops all in one place . Some of the best local delicacies can be found here . Good bargains from clothings , bags , watches , stationery , herbs , fruits all house here . Street paddlers line the lane . Locals flock here for breakfast , lunch and dinner . My favourite goto place for breakfast on weekends
After 1-2 years, I came back to eat the carrot cake. I realised that it wasnt as nice as my first time trying it. This market is a cashless nets payment food court. You make payments using phone nets payment or cash. Many good and cheap food here. If you are unsure, you can always go and join long queues.
This stall’s char siew is for those who has a bit of a sweet tooth. $4 if you are willing to pay.
Best porridge.
Good spot to eat and lots of food choices.
Was walking around the hawker centre and looking at the prices of individual stalls, why are the stalls selling their food $4 and above? Can't get a decent meal of $3, not to mention $2.50? This is a hawker centre, prices should be reasonable like the ones i've mentioned. I don't deny the stalls i've seen, food looks good but pricey to begin with. Like I said, a hawker centre. Thank you.
Tao Hue. Traditional taste. Nice 😋
A variety of food here only that the place is not aircon
Clementi 488 Hawker & Food Centre
There are several good food stalls, satay, won ton mee, porridge and many more.
Update on Nov2017
few stalls considered good food ... and prices are going up with most of the hawkers ... depending on peak hours, a seat or two shouldn't be a problem ... good food needed to queue for them alright ... 🤗
Nice hawker food especially the porridge, laksa and chicken rice
Busy but still lots of room to sit and the order did not take any time.
Always buzzing and full of people. Great place to explore food you wish to enjoy. There is one soya drinks and desert shop which is very popular and always will have a queue. A must try place if you are visiting the place. There is DBS bank and ATM near by. Many other shops to explore in the area.
Alot good food. Alot queue too 😅
The pork is very soft and flavorful. The stall usually has a queue but it moves very fast as the food is already cooked. The source is slightly on the heavy side but it mix well eaten together with the rice. Pork melts in your mouth and fatty parts add to the flavor. Would definitely recommend
Love the Boon Kee Wanton Noodle store at #01-40
Like this old hawker n wet market lots of good foods stall
Old Market in the area, seem like there is not much cleaners clearing the place. Price in this place has raised quite a lot but the portions are not equivalent to the rise. Would not choose this place to eat if given the choice. Better to eat at the food court at clementi mall or smaller hawker centres around it.
Busy market selling affordable and good hawker food, busy all day round. Service is average, and it's not always one can get a seat. Bean curd, fish porridge, fried carrot cake and bak kwa are some of the must try.
Delicious and value for money. However queue can be long as well.
it one of the best neighbourhood market place for affordable food I would strongly recommend the carrot cake if you like it texture to be on the wetter side. Which stall you might ask well there only one very obvious stall in that market when you arrive
There's hallal food shops and testy nasi lemak in the corner
Good food but the hygiene of the place need s improvement. If NEA is reading this, please send your officers to inspect the premises. Dirty tables, rubbish not cleared
Quite a decent chicken rice stall here at this hawker centre.
Quite crowded on weekends but good food and much varieties. Reasonably priced for hawker centre food. Can get dirty during peak hours... Don't see anyone cleaning tables.
Nice food, reasonable price
Clementi food Centre here is a very old eating place. The stalls here has been here plenty of years ardy. The fried carrot cake stall here has even went thru 3 generation - started by the grandfather who started frying carrot since my patall days in havelock road and then shifted to clementi here. The stall passed down to his son and now 2 grandsons took over the business. You must try it is extremely good. You must prepared to join the super long q for it. There is also the fresh fish soup, wantan mee and fish ball mee and also the well known bean cu store. There is also this satay store who open later the night.
Come here at around 3pm on weekdays,
Not crowded because it is working hours!!
Chai Ho Satay cost 45cent per piece !!
The Satay sauce is the best !! But it is peanut
sauce , so for those who cannot eat 🥜🥜
Please don't eat the sauce !!
Next stall is the Whampoa Soya Bean ,
My favorite is the gingko soya Bean , if
You don't like gingko , there is a lot more
For you to choose , red bean and etc !!
And also Lida biscuits, just opposite of
PONTIAN wanton Noodles,. A lot of biscuits
For you to choose 3packet for $5
The market has varieties of stalls and nice local food. Porridge, carrot cake, curry rice, fish soup, sugar cane drink, coffee, etc. Reasonably priced.
Lots of good local food to eat.
Visit this stall - Hong Kee Villa
Laksa (choice of Chicken, Cockles, Combo)
Prawn Noodle Soup, Satay Bee Hoon
The laksa combo is worth the money for the value, with generous servings of cockles, tou pork, fish cake, bean sprouts. The Laksa broth is very tasty.
Prawn Noodle Soup - fresh prawns, and tasty soup.
Sesame Oil Chicken from #01-08 is excellent. Very fragrant, and nicely marinated chicken meat.
Other stalls -
Bedok Chuey Kway.
Interesting to drop by after a long while. Filled with vibrant and life.
Hussle & Buzz up pasar malam displays of clothing, cockery, new year goodies.
Crowded with many makan stalls w Queues along more than 10 over foodstalls. As I was short of time & could not explore more.
Worth to Carry on makan.
A buzzing hawker centre from dawn to dusk. Long queues are common sight to spot here, especially early in the morning. Most shops offer tasty dishes, but it's wise to follow uncles and aunties to queue up at the best stores. While I haven't tried everything here, my favourites are mostly shops along the aisle facing the bus stop. For breakfast and snacks, the Malay store there offers shiok mee siam, mee soto, nasi lemak, kueh etc. Carrot cake comes in a large portion with a mild taste at a relatively lower price than at other food courts. Most breakfast dishes are only sold until ~11am. For lunch, satay bee hoon at the Yong tau foo store there is well-balanced and affordable. Otherwise, the roasted meat and fish ball stores rock as well. For dinner, char kway teow and hokkien mee from the same store are often my choice. For drinks, the uncle's store next to carrot cake offers teh tarik with rich smooth taste. Also, the fruit juice stall on that aisle is super affordable. If you happen to catch the uncle there, do try his pearl milk tea since he makes it as shiok as that of branded shops.
Inside, 2 duck rice stores attract the largest crowd. Stores selling kueh, pancakes and fishcakes are also spotlights.
The only problem with this hawker is the fluctuating portion and quality of the food. It may take experience or luck to figure out the customer service patterns at different shops.
Good food stall like the satay, fried oyster, porridgeand a few stall have long q,drink stall price is ok except the fruit stall the fruit ans juice is expensive.
Excellent hawker centre with good variety of local delights, from fried kueh teow to chicken rice. Gets very busy over lunchtime as Clementi is a high density area so come early.
The well loved crispy fried white carrot cake, is nice served hot where you can enjoy the crunch.
Pretty hot but have wide range of good food at reasonable prices
Not a very impressive place for meals during weekends, is usually crowded, messy and unhygienic due to lack of cleaners clearing up the mess.. Three popular stalls include but not limited to, are :1)soon lee pork porridge, 2) chicken head chicken rice, 3) the dessert/drink stall, always long Q during weekends, just beside the Chicken head's chicken rice stall, sorry can't remember the name.. . Good luck n enjoy, sedap sedap!... Yummy yummie!!
The food stalls here are generally good and value for money. Market is rather messy during circuit breaker period.. Visit after 9.30 am and it will be less crowded.
nasi goreng ayam kampung here will always be my favourite! cant get over it. so many nice drinks and dessert stall too
The market has stalls selling chinese or muslim food. There are desserts and few drinks stalls, also there is a popular satay stall just at the front entrance. There are indoor and outdoor seats available, but are always crowded especially during peak hour.
Slated one of the best neighbourhood shopping. Quite reasonable compared to AMK. We had chicken rice.
Hey, don't underestimate this place. They close once in a while for washing. But the food center contains some of the better food you may find in SG. One stall has char kway teow with made from brown rice, feels healthy yet tastes as good as your traditional char kway teow. Decent chicken rice stall, and another hokkien mee stall facing the POSB bank. Inside, you'd find a few fish soup stalls competing for business. All of them pretty decent. There's also a hor fun (beef/fish/seafood) that would not disappoint you on any day.
Porridge is good and appetising. Especially if you are hungry. Surely the place for lunch and tea breaks.
Most stalls closed by 8:30 PM
Unoccupied tables aren't cleaned well UNLIKE at Teban Gardens & 726 Clementi west food courts.
Sitting at crossed seats at almost every table in groups . Toilet is also messy and smells.
NEA should warn stalls to get their acts as required. Pricing is required.
there's everything you need and more 👍👍
Some good Jems are located here. Plenty of economical food. Do try the fish soup, soya bean drink stall, chicken rice as well as the porridge there. Prices there are pretty economical.
Just about 100 metres walk from clementi MRT this place has nice good food and at reasonable price, example are the meat porridge, fish soup /fish porridge( 2 stalls to choose), Malay or Chinese satays, soya bean milk and beancurd( more than 2 stalls to choose). A Muslim stall selling goreng pisang always on demand( short selling hour approximately 430-530 pm)There are varieties of food stalls to choose from at this hawker centre, it is quite big but slightly warm.
Have varieties. Duplicates of Wan Tan Noodles, fried carrot cakes and duck noodles. Nice place for local food but place looks dim..
Good porridge, beef hor fun... hokkien mee is famous but ive had better. Traditional tidbit shop in the hawker is where you find a treat after lunch.
Alot of delicious food here. MUST VISIT!!
Love the Char Kway Teow, Banana fritters , Sugarcane juice , Porridge, Kuay chap, Satay bee hoon, Ice Cheng Teng etc...
very good place and very nice food they have.. i recomend to try the chickwn rice is the best😊😊
Nostalgic place! Some stalls come and go but few stalls going on strong! Carrot cake and fish soup!
One of the hawker centers near Clementi MRT, suitable for local Singapore culinary food.
I haven’t been here for a long time. It has changed a lot. There are high-rise buildings, many shopping malls and department stores, Clementi Food Center and the market. It’s so lively. There are many good foods. They are all famous. Braised noodles, curry, fish soup, desserts, etc. So diverse
... ? Kinmen Tai Chi Pork Chop Food Center also has a lot of delicious food and is very cheap. Many people often come here to dine, and there are many National University students who come here often, but there are still a lot of clothes here. There are many kinds of clinics, dental clinics, supermarkets, and NTUC subject centers.
Food of all kinds. But you have to choose wisely because not every stop is delicious. . It is recommended to take a look before purchasing
