Reviews of Ke Shuan Xing Lor Mee and Laksa
Decided to be greedy and order the biggest bowl worth 6 dollars which has both the chicken and the fish.
Managed by 2 uncles, they work tirelessly and remain very friendly and cheerful to their customers. There was a short queue when I visited during a weekday lunch but the queue moved rather quickly. Looking at the amount of fried food on the tray I was worried that the items may be unavailable when it was my turn but luckily I managed to get what I wanted.
Have to say it's a very old school dish and it was pretty well executed, nothing much fancy about the dish still kept with pretty much standard ingredients like the braised pork and egg. Garlic, parsley and vinegar is free flow to add based on personal preferences.
I am quite impressed with the portion of the noodles and the ingredients, was pretty full after finishing that bowl. I have to say I thought the fried items were cold after putting so long on the trays, but it was still crispy. I would also say the 6 dollars version is a great buy because not only you get to have the fried chicken and fish, there was fried wanton and the ngo hiang as well. I quite liked the ngo hiang the filling was tasty and flavourful.
Recommended and very value for money.
Fried fish lor mee is good, just that the fish slice is not big enough. It makes a difference as the surface area of flour is less for big fish, and the crispiness of skin also needs to be improved. I don't mind paying more for bigger fish pieces. I hope they can have such option. 5 star stall is all about details and pursue of merit. It's pretty close though.
Very nice teochew style noodles, using of egg noodles makes it feels more volume with every mouthful, generous mixture of ingredients top with dark vinegar and authentic teochew style soup base, not forgetting their homemade chilli, yummy! Choices of meepok, yellow noodle, kway tiao and spinach noodle. Laksa is good too, with my fav cockles, Mmmmm.......
One of my favourite bowl of minced meat noodle. Their hee Bee chilli is awesome!!
Always serving with a smile too!
It is strange for me to find out no review as well. Their food is good maybe changed name or moved from some other
Location.
$4 get you big bowl of Lor Mee with Fish and if you add other $1 you get fish and chicken chop as well.
Uncle cook very fast no long waiting
Normal bowl is $3 only
I tried the traditional lor mee, which included one fried ngor hiang, one fried wanton, half a braised egg and braised pork. The taste was average but I like it that the gravy was not too starchy. Stall was hygienic and accepts e-payment. The two guys manning the stall were friendly too.
A good bowl of bcm for just $3. Nothing to complain about. Delicious and well done. Can get crowded during lunch time.
Loved the food!
