Reviews of People's Park Food Centre
Dinner at Chinatown's People's Park Food Hawker Centre was a delight. The nice, decent Chinese food offered a taste of home-cooked meals, and every dish was thoroughly enjoyed. I'll definitely be back for more!
Super crowded after office hours - literally forever. Ri ri hong mala. Love the other chinese dumplings as well as xiaolong bao here.
Koo kee is also nice. Good place to be for craving chinese/china food.
Toilets here have to pay I think.
Elderly working crazily fast to clear the trays and utensils etc at the tray return point during peak hours are to be respected. Say thanks to them and it could make their day. They worked really hard and as fast as they could
Since renovated, have visited a few times. Recently got roast pork $10 and mega tofu $2 at stall 1092. Enjoyed the roast pork with cucumber but the tofu is a total miss - not soft and tasty.
I order "Cha Siew Roasted Pork Rice" for SGD 5.5. The cha siew is very sweet and strange taste but the roasted pork is yummy and crunchy. The soup is tasteless. I like their chili oil. This food court is very big and there are many options of food.
i come here quite often and their mala hotpot and fried dumplings never fail to disappoint
Lotssssssss of options here! Love it! Tried this keow teow noodles ($4) and oysters omelet ($5), was so good! KTN was quite close to the Penang style, just a bit sweeter.
Fav mala place in Chinatown. Very cheap fr such generous portion! There’s always a queue but don’t worry they move fast! Very efficient as well - you place your order and make your payment then you collect from behind. Our usual order will always consist of a side of fried dumplings from another stall across the collection point. Also, best paired w tsing tao beer to cool off hehe :p
This place is overwhelming. Initially it’s a little quiet, and the decor is not impressive. It’s a barebones cafeteria with multiple stalls packed along the sides. The variety and volume of food options is incredible. Bring your own napkins, and be prepared for a lack of AC. Otherwise for those not chained to fancy dining, be prepared for an experience. The food is tasty and delicious.
alot of choices of food. you need to line up for most delicious food there. and affordable price too. if you are new to Chinatown, and looking for food culinary, visit People's Park Food Center is a must.
I specifically like the wanton mee stall near to the toilet and the fried carrot cake and oyster eggs. There's also the cheapest beer stall selling 3 big bottles of Tsingtao beer for S$10 only!
Low price, many choices good for big group, very normal quality & presentation, nothing special, ~8-10SGD/pax.
Tried out some China dishes yesterday at People's park food centre. Bought from 2 different stalls. The fried dumplings n the boiled one ,quite nice n cheap-12 pcs for $5. These are cheaper than what I ate before. The hot sour ,spicy homemade noodles n the soup noodles( China version of LOR MEE)was good. Especially the LOR MEE ,$4.50 w 2 decent prawns ,Lala too. The price is quite reasonable. Very surprised to see that 1 can cold Coke n 1 hot coffee only cost $2. Cheaper than the coffee shop near my house.
A few stalls were not opened on a Tuesday afternoon.
Like the custard puffs from the front row bakery, in existence for many years ( they have custard horns, paus, & Chinese pastry).
Tried the chendol, not too sweet.
One of our favourite places in Singapore. Such a variety of wonderful tasty, reasonably priced, food.
We had dinner here several times, also ideal spot to sit and have a cold beer our of the sun.
Might not be for everyone but, like the rest of Chinatown, we loved it.
First time trying satay beehon here. I ordered the $5. Quite big portion. It's good. The ingredients are fresh, the cuttle fish, cockles, liver, pork. I like especially the liver and cockles.
Normal food centre. I wast attracted to try the Hainanese Chicken Rice due to Michelin guide award. Unfortunately the roasted chicken is so bad. Skin is not crispy and is sweet taste. Meat is tasteless. Wonder how they get the Michelin Guide.
Another feast of Chinese style mala fish, Xiao long bao, 红油抄手 and finally I tried the 肉夹馍!! Mala fish I think I bought from a different stall than last time. This stall has a fish shaped metal pot for the fish. I'll try another stall next time. Was good but okay only.
Xiao long bao was good but skin was a bit thick. But definitely better than the one in Chinatown complex (that was terrible; filling tasted sweet and floury). I will give 红油抄手 a miss from this stall. Gravy was too watery and wantons were bit soggy.
肉夹馍 I like. It's like a Chinese hamburger. Chopped up minced fatty pork with some cucumber julienne inside a toasted Chinese bun. The bun was toasted nicely and has a bite to it while the pork inside was fatty and juicy. It was quite a big bun for $4. The size was as big as a McSpicy? Maybe. Lol. Got it from the stall that sells cold noodles along the stretch of the mala fish stalls. There are also other stalls selling this surrounding People's Park, apart from the main food centre.
Stall starts at 1pm even though they were ready around 12:30pm. Serve food at your table. Soup is good but a little too salty for me. The ingredients are good @$4.50 per bowl.
Wish they use number tag to prevent making ppl having to queue.
A little untidy n messy. Lots if delicious hawker food reasonably priced. If you are nearby, do come and support the pioneer generation hawkers.
Everyone is happy that the food centre has reopened today. It’s cleaner and cooler now. Let’s hope that the hawkers do not take this opportunity to raise the price.
This stall 川味园 inside the hawker centre the grilled fish and other dishes all quite nice, with a very reasonable price too.
Surprised and happy to see vegetarian optionS in good centre. The counter I went at, uncle was kind, and friendly . Service was fast and their suggestions for food was nice
The place gives Binondo vibes and the food is good for the affordable price.
Tried out the 烤鱼 at a store called 六两半。it's so-so cause the fish wasn't grilled enough. Not enough 火气。almost feels more like steamed fish. The fish given is fresh water catfish at $18, mala flavor. There's also the options to add more ingredients are $1.50 each. Added black fungus, beancurd skin and broccoli which were good additions. Rice comes at 50c per bowl. Will try out other stores in the future. Store is in the first most row to the mrt exit. Left most store, on the side facing into the food center.
Woh...This is Singapore China town... All good foods n shopping areas around this area... U got alot to choose Chinese food.... Spicy... Noodles... Relaxing with some beers.. Nearest Mrt... Chinatown... All walking distance around the area
A lot of good food. However cleaners may not be well trained or supervised, table and chair are pretty dirty. If you like mala, this is the place, cheap and good
I tried mingfa noodles and the fried dumpling, it was good, but i could find better at other places, it was rainy, the place kinda dirty and some floors inside the hall are a bit watery
After a hearty meal, we visited The Beautiful One TBO Manicure salon #02-1008 for a mani and pedi service which was relaxing and pampering for our tired feet.
Enjoy visiting places
Got a lot of things to see and don't forget makes a stop around the hawker centre
There's a lot of food to eat
Has wide variety of dishes but not value for money, paid $4.20 for a tofu, egg and kungpao chicken
Food is good and affordable. Ventilation needs some improvement.
Lots of good foods togetherwith desserts at affordable prices, must visit when in Chinatown.
Chinese... VERY Chinese! We bought also very nice and fresh fruits at the entrance, but the main spot is a collection of douzend (maybe hundred?) foot booth of different styles (korean, Chinese, Japanese), but most of them seem to be very oriented to chinese taste. And... it is loud. Very loud.
We visit by accident, and tried 2 food stalls... it was and is not ours. We will not visit again. But if you like to experience some authentic chinese style food and experience: This Hall is your entrance to the "real asia" experience, different from the Singapore ("Asia for beginners") surrounding it. Don't expect someone to understand your english! The deal will be made by pointing (to the meal/menu) and showing (your money, the staff will take the right amount, don't be afraid).
Good variety
Very clean after reno
My 1st Time Here !
Garoupa Fish was Fresh but Soup was Bland !
Patronize a new stall here. Is called Treasure Bowl Seafood Pao Fan. Ordered a bowl of seafood pao fan $6.90. Wow it pack a punch full of flavour. Real good that you must try.
Back to my favourite stall for the fried chilli fish!!!
Be back again!!!! 😉
Food
People's Park Food Centre is a popular spot for its wide variety of affordable and delicious food. There are over 100 stalls to choose from, serving everything from Singaporean classics like chicken rice and laksa to international cuisines like Chinese, Thai, and Indian food.
I've tried a number of different stalls at People's Park Food Centre and have always been impressed with the quality of the food. Some of my favorites include:
Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice: This stall is known for its delicious and affordable chicken rice. The chicken is perfectly cooked and the rice is flavorful and fragrant.
328 Katong Laksa: This stall is known for its rich and flavorful laksa. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the broth is packed with flavor.
Liu Xiang Xiang Mala Hotpot: This stall offers a variety of mala hotpot dishes, including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and vegetables. The mala broth is flavorful and spicy, and the ingredients are fresh and high-quality.
Service
The service at People's Park Food Centre is generally good. The stall owners are friendly and helpful, and they are usually happy to accommodate special requests. However, it can get quite crowded during peak hours, so be prepared to wait for your food.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere at People's Park Food Centre is lively and bustling. It's a great place to experience the local food culture and to try a variety of different dishes. However, it can be quite noisy and crowded, so it's not the best place for a romantic dinner or a quiet meal.
Overall, I think People's Park Food Centre is a great place to eat if you're looking for affordable and delicious food. There's a wide variety of dishes to choose from, and the stall owners are generally friendly and helpful. However, be prepared for crowds during peak hours.
Super crispy and delicious siobak bake with Pink Himalayan Salt ,fresh pork
WhatsApp 97697617
hundreds of vendors who for an amateur are seen in total chaos, a really cool experience, and very good food at probably Singapore's best price
Not surprising that this place seems to be has the most Chinese China traditional street & restaurants food. Seating place need more cleaners.
Great place for Chinese food
Never goes wrong with chinese food here.
Comparing to many other Chinese food courts it’s amazing! Hundreds of stalls with authentic tasty food. Good organized service, clean and chill. Recommend to all Chinese food courts lovers.
Wide varieties of local food on ground floor, furniture and clothing stores on the 2nd level
Good frog leg porridge here! Accept fave pay but can be hot and very crowded during lunch time period.
There is a wide variety of food, especially Chinese cuisine.
The place is messier than the other food center due to the large crowds, so if you looking for somewhere quieter, it's definitely not for you but you can consider coming here to pack and go.
I recommend the stall Chinese name "Sichuan flavour " their BBQ fish are very popular but their other dishes are also delicious. They are located beside a drink stall on the extreme left of the center. Give them a try but beware of the long waiting time and queue.
My favorites place for food . Good food n not expensive
One of the many food centres in Chinatown to savour the wide varieties of Chinese food. Many popular stalls and most of all, all the affordable prices. Ample seats are almost always available, and with good drinks options.
My fav hawker stall for hand pulled noodles moved to the opposite end of the center..great dumplings too
Always a winner. Easier to find a seat during CB. Long q but fast moving
Very disappointed because of google map stating it opens at 7:30am. Went there 8:30am only to find out that the stalls dont open until 10am. There are select stalls who opens early but youve got to find them... and they would mostly sell noodles only
It is one of my favourite places to go to, from good, real authentic tasting local food to a range of fabric, batik, Chinese wedding goods, and tonnes of dIscoveries waiting to be explored.
It's not the prettiest of places, but it is a real look into the life of a local which is pretty close to the touristy part.
Don't let the faded facade of the building fool you; it might have a few years on it, but the vendors of People's Park are friendly, nice, and definitely take pride in their work.
Definitely love this!
Lots of cheap and good food here. Chinese food is authentic and can thus be too oily for the local taste.
Have been wanting to eat the popiah whenever i came here the past few times but fate had always conspired against me, with store closures on multiple visits culminating in the annual hawker centre spring cleaning.
Definitely a must-visit if you're looking for local Chinese food, and also mainland Chinese food!
Great food and brings a lot of nostalgia with stalls having histories back to 60s and even 40s. It also means the building is somewhat old. Now half the place is taken up by Sichuan and China northeast flavour (東北料理). Famed for the multitudes mala (麻辣) stalls.
Great place for mala hotpot. Lots of cheap food great place for a quick bit or a cheap dinner lots of beer stalls to wash down the mala hotpot dow
Hawker Centre with many food stalls to choose from. Gets very crowded in the weekends, so be prepared to wait around for tables.
But I do need to say that the tables don’t get cleaned quickly as there’s not many cleaners and the place is quite dirty (floors & tables).
So if you want great food and don’t mind the environment, come here. It’s definitely an experience.
I enjoyed $9 meal, very traditional sg foods in this places.
Try the Assam laska and fresh cockles. One and only stall there. Besides, go for the mala fish, dry chilli fried chicken cubes and fried potatoes shoe strings. Look for the one with the red signboard. Beside the beef noodle stall also with red signboard. You will not regret it.
If you like Chinese food - go. Before ordering, check that the stall you like displays a letter A or B - usually on a corner. A and B ratings mean the sanitary conditions are very good (A) or good. If it's a C, move on because there are plenty of other stalls there.
Lots of stalls selling very authentic China cuisine. But some sitting spots are extremely hot and uncomfortable.
This place serves a lot of authentic Chinese food. Taste is really good, price are ok. But the place is a bit dirty and super crowded in lunch / dinner time.
Good to come and variety of selection.
A busy and large hawker centre with lots of history and many very good food stores. Especially famous here are the three very old and famous Yong Tau Foo stores. Very easy to identify them - there are always super long queue in front of these stores. LoL. Want good food got to queue and wait haha.
There are lots of Chinese fare to choose from, ranging from Yong Tau Foo, Roast Meat, Soon Kueh, Fish Soup, Mala Hotpot, etc. Seating is generous and finding a seat wasn't be too hard during lunchtime. There are two open courtyards within so it's pretty airy with lots of natural lighting.
Close by is cobbler square where you can get your shoes fixed whilst having your meal. And above on the 2nd floor are some more eateries, and Swanston which sells hygiene care (soap, shampoo, talcum, etc).
People's park food centre have a long history in Singapore Chinatown, however many of the stalls are being took over by peoples came from China. Therefore difficult to find local foods here. Remaining a few local food stalls are not bad.
Mala hot pot is the best
Nice & delicious Yan To Fu
Great local food and affordable prices. The interior section of the food centre could do with a little more ventilation to complete the dining experience.
Plc is run down, hot, expensive, & almost most shops converted
to Chinese mainland eating shops, no more the usual haunt for Singkies n Msians! Parking is difficult n costly! Pl avoid!
Hygiene could be improved but overall another great paradise for fabulous food choice. Yong tau foo, famous rice cake, roast pork and cha xiu rice, economic rice and even malay food is great over here. Food is quite worth your money over here.
Dirtiest place in Singapore. But the food is to die for. Atmosphere is superb to sit, drink beer and watch the locals and drink more beer.
Center badly need upgrades as wild birds often seen at food center.
My frequently visited prawn noodles, we've created bond that mine orders comes with freshly fried spring onions and if I'm lucky fresh fried pork lard.
Many people came for the food but I came to have my haircut, buy toiletries n snack.
The location needs care. Hainanese Chicken Rice was good. The chicken is poached not roasted. Steamed pumpkin and black sugar cakes were yummy.
Chrap and good food. Tons of varieties to cater to different tastebuds.
There are many spicy hot pots here. Many Chinese tourists come here to dine. It can be said to be Chinatown. I prefer the spicy chicken and pot stickers here. The price is favorable and the taste is moderate.
There are various kinds of delicious stalls. The prices are reasonable. The staff are helpful and friendly. It is crowdy during lunch hours.
There are various delicious stalls. The price is reasonable. Staff are helpful and friendly. It's crowded here during lunch time.
There are various delicious stalls here. The price is reasonable. Staff are helpful and friendly. Crowded during lunch time.
One of the busiest and most crowded foodcourt in China town. When you come here, you won't know what you want to eat or what dish to choose. Because it all stimulates your sense of smell.
All are typical traditional Chinese dishes. There is no need to argue about the deliciousness of Chinese food.
Everything is good, the only minus point is that the public table and chair area is a bit unhygienic.
But I can ignore this because of the deliciousness and attractiveness of the dishes here. The price is very cheap!!!
There is lots of food and drink served. Pleasant. Mostly Chinese food. There are mala, chicken rice/ noodles, duck rice/ noodles, pork/ carshew rice/ noodles.
Advantages: There are so many different kinds of food to eat, there is always one that suits you
Disadvantages: too many people, sanitary conditions are not very good, cleaning is not very timely
Cool food center in the middle of Chinatown, the food tastes good and is cheap. You can also get beer here at reasonable prices
