Reviews of 99 Old Trees Durian
Wasn’t expecting much but…. Not bad. The taste and quality of the MSW is good! Worth it! Great that they have coconut water to go along with the durians.
Went on a Thursday afternoon so wasn’t crowded. But the crowd came in progressively after.
🟩 Came here twice with my hubby ( once at night time and once in the day). This shop is about a 15 min walk from Outram MRT station.
🟣 I did not eat there. We buy the durians and head home straight. Because I prefer to eat at home. We drove the family car there.
🟧 They have 2 areas for eating = one is the aircon interior hall & the other is the outdoor seats (✔️ which is naturally warm and humid given our hot fiery weather all year long).
🟩 Besides fresh durians, they also sell cakes, chendol, durian desserts and other pastries. All in all, the durians are tasty and of good quality.
First visit! Delicious durians even the dessert are well made! Bravo! I love it in every way. The old fashion premise, the variety of durians, and atmosphere is nostalgic. 🥰
My favourite place to get durian desserts. The durian are pricey and I'd much rather buy durian from another vendor but I love the stinky bombs (durian puffs) and durian mousse here! I much prefer the mousse over the cendol, and I'd recommend this for people who just want durian or the durian flavour!
Got the cendol and the puffs. Personally feel that the cendol is a tad underwhelming and the durian taste does not complement the cendol. The puffs, on the other hand, are great - love the caramelized crunch outside with custardy filling inside. I’d recommend getting the puffs and skipping on the cendol. Place itself doesn’t really have a lot of seats, so take note of that.
finally decided to brave the (ever present) queue to try their durian choux, and it was SO worth it!! the choux itself is very well made and crunchy. the durian filling is amazing! the durian flavour is so delicious and super rich.
would love to come back and try their other stuff.
indoor seating area is extremely limited, if you want to avoid the heat, visiting in the evening might be better but the crowds might be larger too.
Ordered their Durian Puff and Durian Chendol while waiting for the evening fresh durian delivery to the store.
It’s MSW season, the quality is decent. Also provide sealed packaging for take away
Not a fan of Dorian but I believe this place is probably worth the experience, even if it is just once. Definitely wouldn't go again 😂
Cozy atmosphere during non-peak hours given the shop is located in a shophouse building. Some available indoor & outdoor seating.
The "stinky bomb" is made fresh at the shop. Also try the "stinky bowl"
Fresh durian per kg not cheap compared to nearby alternatives, though they do bring in various varieties.
Payment by Nets, Paynow and Cash only.
Walk over to Tanjong Pagar when u climb up the stairs located at the back of shop to Duxton Plain Park.
love the durian pastries (stinky bombs are a must try), love the friendly and helpful staff, and love the small durian details in their decor everywhere. i swear the stuff here is so good you could convert a durian hater. special shoutout to the cutest plush toys on the sofa.
One of the best durian mousse i have eaten in Singapore
Yummy durian deserts. Touristy and pricey, but tasty nonetheless. Msw chendol ran out, but the normal durian was sweet and fragrant.
99 Old Trees has a wonderful ambience for durian. Both durian and service are top notch! Pictured is the best Mao Shan Wang I've had this season!
👉🏼Stinky Bomb, $4.80
literally exploding w durian filling 💥 sweet crust has a slight crunch too 👅
👉🏼Chendul Original, $3.90
not too sweet 👌 a vv solid chendol the mum says good HAHA 🫡 tho ngl i felt like thr was nt enough coconut milk and shaved ice 💔 the little amount of coconut milk in shaved ice form melted too quickly for me to really enjoy it
👉🏼Stinky Durian Chendul, $5.90
y’all they don’t skimp on the durian 🫦 a generous lump of creamy durian rlly takes the chendol to the next level 🤩
i have a confession… i’m nt rlly a durian/chendol enthusiast……. 😗 don’t come at me pls 🙏🏼 but i actl enjoyed this durian chendol!! (don’t ask me why i came here in the first place 😅) maybe this place will slowly convert me 😋
🚨🚨 do check me out @yumnomss on ig and lemon8 xoxo! 😋
You know a place is serious if they only sell one or a few items. Located in a rustic part of Chinatown, come here to savor a popular local dessert.
a satisfying bowl of durian mousse with fresh durian pulp added. durian pulp is very rich and creamy. a cool dessert for a hot day. the outdoor seating is thoughtfully designed to allow customers to enjoy. the staff are very welcoming and serve with a smile and thoughtful reminders like have to finish the dessert by today or put in the freezer.
This place will fix your durian cravings! Although menu is a bit expensive and portion is small however the Choux puffs are a must try!
They were incredibly soft, and to my surprise, they had fresh durian pieces inside. The overall experience was light, refreshing, and absolutely delightful. I highly recommend trying them if you're looking for a delicious treat
Parking on site, but the lot is very small. The durian was delicious - I'm normally not a fan, but it was very fresh, creamy, and sweet. We also tried the durian chendol, and it was a good amount of durian flavour with a few small seeds. Would recommend if you're a fan of durian.
Durian was delicious but not many variety was available for selection during my last visit. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Other than durian, they also have durian bomb (balls), durian rolls & durian chendol to satisfy durian craving. A little pricey though.
Love the chendol here! Not too sweet overall and thankfully the pandan jelly unlike hawker one. You can choose to add more brown sugar on your own near the collection area.
One thing I dislike is the inconsistency of the chendol. At times it’s too watery, at times pretty solid…some times too little chendol / red beans, sometimes just nice amount.
And folks, please, it’s not THAT hard to return the tray or bowl to the clean up area. It’s very limited seating and overall space is not big, just help to return them yeah?
Friendly staff. While queuing a staff came to each of us to check if we need any recommendations or have any queries. I think that's a pretty cool as customers would have a better idea and make decisions faster when it's their turn to order.
Though we dine-in, I've also ordered some takeaway which the staff have them neated kept in the fridge, waiting for me to claim it with my receipt.
Indoor seating is very limited.
Outdoors 2 kinds of seating - IG Worthy spot with tower fan and warm lights and the other, brighter light that's meant for Durian eating but still comfortable and clean.
Nice place to chill with your friends and family.
The car park Infront of it has limited lots. If you can, park somewhere else and take a stroll there.
Nice place to chill ! Enjoyed my time with family over a bowl of MSW Ice Chendol. The chendol itself is not so sweet however we can top up with the brown sugar syrups available at the counter.
Awesome….. my friend introduced the shop, no regret. The shop itself is very well designed… more “atas” cafe style 😅 but the most important is the durian quality… awesome!!! Mao Shang Wang is heaven with it bittersweet creamy taste. Yes the price is “atas” but no regret once you had the bite 🥰
I like the fact that I can order just 2 durian bomb to satisfy my craving for durian. There is a small carpark lot infront of the shop so it's quite convenient. More like a durian cafe than a shop that just sell durian. Very Interesting to see how a durian shop have evolve to a cafe style. The durian bomb is mao sha wang filling, sweet and look like a oversize mochi with crunch skin 😋 located right outside outram mrt exit H. Really convenient.
So I've been recommended about them for a while. Finally decided to order the delivery. No photos, ate too fast.
Summary.
MSW $78 about a 2kg durian about 40% flesh not too bad. Quality v good. Consistent.
Red prawn slightly different compared to others I've eaten, the bitter profile is stronger with the sweet profile. Very interesting. For its price fair
D13. No complains. Texture taste is right. Will order again.
Is it cheap and good, no. But at least its fair priced and got bao if got issue. Looking forward to Dec when other breeds types are available
First tried their MSW Durian icecream (Stinky Scoop) and I never looked back! This is my go-to whenever i have sudden cravings for durians and durian desserts! My favourites, apart from the durians are the MSW durian icecream and the chendol topped with durian pulp! The pulp is the stuff of dessert dreams and is a party pleaser whenever i order them for friends and family! Super rich, creamy and fragrant. Packaging is beautifully designed and prices are super affordable and reasonable.
Products are always neatly and well-packed upon delivery and service is prompt and polite. I enjoy the experience every time I order and hope they expand their product line! Highly recommend! :)
Just happen to find out this place nearby when I was on the way to Chinatown. The rating is high. So out of curiosity, I went to try out. First I tried their Chendol, not too bad but their gula melaka still not so fragrance as compared to the one I ate at Suntec. I wanted to try their MSW durians but not available till 1900 hrs evening. The rest I don’t dare to try their puffs and rolls, worried that the durians they used might not be fresh.
quite disappointed with the takeaway service. I purchased one pint of durian ice cream and was surprised ice pack or ice cooler bag was not provided, just put in a plastic bag. In Singapore hot weather with such packing, this is really bad service, inconsiderate. Price is in high end without quality service
Went there for Durian in Dec2022. It was so good i wanted to revisit.
Eventually, i went again on 13 May 2023 with an overseas friend but disappointed because there are no real durian fruit because it's non-season. We had only durian puffs and icecream. But the quality were very good.
I will be back again when the season is back in mid year.
Far away can smell the durian taste. Sooooooo attractive.
Durian buns are nice and full of real durian inside the buns.
MSW Chendol is a must...cooling
Value for money.
Less seatings indoor but outdoor is too hot with this weather.
1 word: SEDAP!
A client of mine recommended 99 Old Trees to me. Before I knew where the store exactly was, our noses already could detect the stench in the air. So we let our noses lead us there 😚
The puff chouxs were so damn good!!! I had 2 of it and that alone wasn’t enough!
The location and ambience is very nice for friends to gather and enjoy stinky durians. They have a ready boxes for you to take away or simply enjoy it there.
Tried a lot of things on the menu and they were all great. My favorite is the Durian Mousse.
Past Reviews: 1 months ago, Last mins got craving for durians. Search in google, 99 popped out. Call in order, reservation done. All in less than 10 mins. Collection at night, wait for awhile as durians are late. Requested for bitter durian, they get the best for me.
Very pleased with their services and quality of durian provided. Surely be back when season is back
Good place to have your first taste of durian- slightly pricier than some local alternatives.
The place speaks for itself. One of the best durian dessert place with an option for alfresco seating to have fresh durian for extra bonus points for the ambience. A must visit!
Generally nice durian and unique durian dishes. The chendol lack the gula melaka fragrance like the ABC gangsta one. Durian moose is unique and nicer than the chendol. Staff is friendly but price is on the higher side as its cafe concept.
Great place for durian when you travel out of season. Choices are a little limited in November. But quality is excellent.
Cute cozy place to eat good durian desserts. Not my favorite chendol in the town, but not bad one. Unbelievable good pastry - durian bomb puff! And always friendly stuff! Atmosphere is also very relaxing.
One of our favorite durian supplier. The quality of the durian is superb! Plus they guarantee the quality and give you a peace of mind for the price you pay.
You can also enjoy dessert next door which is awesome.

Pop by during lunch, MSW is sold out. Hence get the regular Chendol with Durian. Taste wise is just ok. Next to Outram MRT.
Stinky bomb cookie crust was amazingly crispy and durian cream was very on point and deep in taste with fresh durian. Tried their stinky msw roll and it was very soft and durian cream served was generous too! Good experience and vibes here !! Recommended :))
Tried their smoky bomb and stink bowl. I prefer the smoky bowl. Very flavourful and full of flesh. Do give it a try if you are ard the area. A stone throw away from Dorsett residence.
Best durian dessert in SG 👍 nice service
The mao shang wang durian with Chendul are to die for! So yummy but not cheap. A very nice place especially the shaded outdoor area which is a nice place to catch up with m and friends and enjoy a durian dessert.
Chanced upon this place after brunch at Populus. Highly recommend their desserts for a durian fix. Their desserts remind me of the ji de chi durian desserts at Serangoon Garden. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Always reliable and delish, even during the long off-season
Visited on 16-June. Was really crowded. Go earlier to avoid not getting a table should you plan to eat on-site.
The durian quality is ok and price is reasonable.
English speaking and friendly staffs as a whole. Except that I had encounter one particular staff(guy with spec) who acted so weird when clearing the table. I was enjoying my last seed of durian. He stood beside me and stared at me. Waiting for me to finish my durian. I told him I’m still eating. He has no reaction and continue looking at me. I had to then quickly finish the durian and throw it into the bin on the table. He cleared it and left. Btw, I have 2 boxes of unopen durian with me on the table in a plastic bag. Which we had wanted to continue eating. However, with this guy weird behaviour it’s a turn off.
99 Old Trees - maybe you should train your staff not to act this way. It’s not funny and rude to be exact.
We had chendol with Mao Shan Wang at $13.90 per serving. There were 4 seeds of thick, creamy & yummilicious durian 👍... the chendol is really good too!
Totally accessible : stone's throw away from Outram MRT & a public car park right next to it.
First time here to try their durians desserts. We have ordered Stinky Bowl, MSW Chendol and Stinky Bomb. The fresh MSW is really awesome, it is the taste that we love it (creamy sweet-bitter taste)!! The stinky bowl is durians mousse and stinky Bomb is filled with MSW choux!! It is just opposite the Outram MRT Exit H which located at the corner. You will see it when you are out from the MRT station exit. They only accept Cash, NETS and PayNow. Limited seats are available in indoor and they do have outdoor seating.
Today (26 June), we are back to purchase the durians (Mao Shan Wang and Red Prawn). It is very creamy with sweet and bitter taste. The quality is good and it was arrived fresh today at 6pm.
Stinky durian chendul was not as good as what others commented. Coconut milk was way too diluted & can't even taste gula melaka.
Hence durian mousse & stinky bomb (choux pastry) was good. Outlet have quite a nos of tourists on wkends. Cashier seems can't focus too. Managed to take away 2 freshly packed D24. durian.
Ideal place for durian dessert lovers. Good for an afternoon snack or after meal dessert. Affordable price and nice cafe to hang out with friends or family.
Came here for durians but it was sold out so we settled for the durian mousse and ice cream. The durian mousse was fantastic. Smooth, light yet flavourful. The service here is also delightful! They saw that we finished the mousse and served the ice cream immediately without us asking for it. As we came here on valentines day, they even gave us a rose! Highly recommend this place for the comfortable environment, great service and yummy durian mousse!
Adorably nostalgic interior, and oddly enough, smells more like choux pastry than it does durian! The stink bomb durian choux are creamy and scrumptious. A must-try! The mural outside it also presents a cute insta-worthy photo opp!
No durian fruit for the moment. We tried the very yummy stinky bombs and stinky rolls for the first time, and our friends loved the desserts.
Five stars for this place. 5 stars for the most popular stinky bowl.
Prices reasonable and affordable.
Cozy and clean, opposite Outram park mrt, durian dessert- must try !
The fruits were good. Premium price for consistent quality, good service, good dine-in area in a prime location. One star off because I think it's a bit pricey lar and I not that rich to eat as often as I would like. :'(
New location. Nice dessert.
New area to chill out.
Can't stop to hold my mouth. 👍🏻
Their durian is legit. Worth the price with cendol.
A must try for durian lover!!
best durian ice
Recommend Stinky bomb, $2.40 each bomb. Remember to eat on that day you purchase and chilled before eat.
A popular durian stall in Singapore here with many Chinese tourists like to eat here
This has got to be the most honest durian shop I've been to. Quality of product is top notch all the time every time. They will open the durian in front of you and if it's not up to their standards they will discard it rather than sell it. They will also replace segments of the durian with their own stock if that segment is not up to scratch.
More impressively I've seen them inform clueless customers that a particular type of durian is out of stock rather than passing off a less premium type as the requested type of fruit. This switching is something that can be observed at some durian stores when they are faced with customer who don't know the difference particularly foreign customers.
Highly recommended.
Come and try.. 👍
Added 3rd visit details
I had the durian platter for 33 dollars, and the Musan King was delicious as expected.
Added 2nd visit details
This time I also ate Chandol.
1st visit
We rode our bikes and visited the store at 8pm on Saturday evening. About 5 people were waiting in front of me to order. But I didn't wait long.
There are seats both indoors and outdoors, but at first I didn't have a place to sit, but if I wait a bit, a seat becomes available.
To taste each type, a large durian bowl, 2 bombs (minimum order unit), roll quarter (4 pieces)
Payment method Cash or bank transfer possible, card not possible
Concentrate!! I will give you the most important tips when eating.
You should never eat the bowl first (the taste of durian is very strong), so I don't know the taste of bread right now haha.
Then you won't feel the duraan in the bread.
The store is right in front of Outram MRT Exit 4.
There is a small public parking lot.
The Musang King of Durian milk is sweet and slightly bitter by Samsung. It has a magical taste. The environment is clean and air-conditioned. There are few tables. There are not many people. The time limit is 45 minutes. It is more than enough. The green inside is not delicious and tasteless. I probably ordered the wrong one and wanted it. The red beans are not directly green and the smoothie service does not have self-service ordering. As a dessert, it is not very delicious. I only like durian.
advantage:
Cendol Golden Phoenix Durian Ice is delicious.
Very close to the subway, just across the road.
There are indoor seats, suitable for bringing family or the elderly to enjoy delicious food in the air-conditioning.
shortcoming:
There is air conditioning so the durians are a bit more expensive. 450g 29$ red prawn.
There are too few seats and only five groups of guests can be accommodated indoors.
You can eat the best durian cendol here
How did I discover such a delicious durian dessert shop!
99 Old trees durian 99 Old trees durian
I sincerely recommend his durian mousse
The extra shot is more fragrant, the ice is sweet and really delicious
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
#You will be happy if you eat sweets
I ate three kinds of durians
MAO SHAN WANG Bittersweet Cream: Fermented flavor, the highest sweetness
Black Phoenix BLACK THORN bittersweet cream: fermented flavor, average sweetness
KASAP MERAH sweet and dry: no fermentation smell, smooth to the touch
Because I don’t like the strong smell of fermentation, my favorite is KM.
Puffs are also delicious
Durian is delicious! It’s a pity that Mao Shan King just happened to be sold out. The environment is great!
