Reviews of Adam Rd Noo Cheng Big Prawn Noodle
First time trying this prawn noodle, the soup is really good and savoury. The prawn and pork ribs tender and nice. Overall good. Recomended !
Decent prawn noodles.
I ordered the dry version of pork belly prawn noodles for $11. Portion size is ok, but I would have wished for thicker slices of pork belly. I really loved the soup base, which packed a good prawn punch and a bit of spice. The prawns itself were nice and sweet, but I prefer the prawns at Zion Riverside Adam Road prawn noodles.
By the time of my visit the stall was awarded with a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide.
The prawn noodle is as good as ever.. always a heart warming bowl of goodness. Will always have this when I’m at Adam Road Market.. only if the queue weren’t always crazy long.
It has been a long long time since I last eaten these noodles.
I ordered item number 2 on the menu which was prawns and pork belly noodles.
The noodles were very well cooked and the chilli and other ingredients were paired well.
The noodles were packed with ingredients and it was indeed delightful to eat this bowl of noodles. The prawns were all fresh as was the pork belly.
The soup also had the right amount of taste.
Definitely worth repeat visits.
The soup is strong!! Prawns were fresh but the pork belly was rather thinly slice. In photo looks like a lot but actually is not much de. Over all taste normal and I find it very oily. Don’t have the pork lard taste too. Maybe uses shallots oil. Expensive and over rated! Won’t come back again.
Long standing prawn noodle soup stall. $7 with three medium prawns which is quite value for money nowadays. Soup is tasty but somewhat salty.
Pork ribs prawn noodle 排骨虾面
🍜 Food wise: So jealous of people who stay near here, the noodles were good, the prawn was good, and the pork ribs were also good. Jelly jelly.
The noodles coated with their chilli and ketchup, along with a little spam of chili powder, woah, so delicious! It was rich in fragrance of the prawn stock as well, see already immediately hungry.
The pork ribs, look at the glazed meat and its fats! The soft bone on the ribs came off easily too! Just ashamed that they gave one big piece only, so succulent so delicious, only one piece, sad. Order one more bowl!
Prawns wise, fresh, fat, and sweet! Along with the chili powder, shiok! Two prawns! Either eat it on its own or with chili powder or with the sauce from the noodles, all nice!
The soup is also pretty satisfying, sweet, rich prawn flavour, sweet and fragrant.
✨ Ambience wise: Hawker centre!
🤵🏻 Service wise: Great!
💵 Price wise: $6!
Note that prices have increased across the board. Noo Cheng is where I would go for a prawn noodle fix when I'm in the area. Try to avoid lunch hour as the queues are long and you have to brave an atrociously packed carpark. The soup has noticeably lightened, it used to be more intense. Prawns are fresh. Uncle is friendly. Policy of no soup refills is not that friendly. I previously gave this 4 stars but the change in broth + higher prices brought it down to 3 stars. It didn't help that Adam road food centre is small and with social distancing rules, the number of tables available for patrons to eat here is just...dismal.
Juicy, sweet prawns that are clearly fresh with how well they come off the shells using chopsticks, as well as rich & robust prawn-pork bone broth that lingered on the perfectly blanched noodles. 🦐🍜
Pork bones were simmered with care over the fire - meat tender & fall-of-the bone without becoming too fibrous - a common mistake from leaving meat to boil too long over high fire 🙏
Also appreciate the awesome hospitality from the chef with the recommendations & banter 👊
Definitely going back & recommending to friends & family 🙌
Quite expensive with 5 pcs prawns & 2 pcs pork ribs $7, adding liver total $10. The lives are too salty. Chilly for dry bee Hoon not too bad. Soup taste good.
Nothing to shout about really
Soup is not tekong
Chilli also not shiok
Fall short of expectations for Michelin status
This is real umami with a generous amount of prawns! If you can't decide which of the prawn noodles to choose, just ask uncle who is super nice and cares about his food.
Queue is long because cooking is slow. The man probably can speed up the queue if he talk lesser and help more The salty taste overwhelmed the prawn taste. Not worth the wait and money.
My favourite prawn noodles. Broth not too salty, massive prawns, spicy noodles separate (so I can have in soup if I want, or own their own which is yummy too) and big tasty pork ribs too. The portion is decent for 2 to share, but I have what's pictured to myself because I'm oinky 🐖
Nice big Prawn Noodles. Go-to stall if I am in the area. They also have seasonal dishes like crabs and cockles. Ordered a big crab for about $40+. Lots of roe.
Expensive for a decent bowl of prawn noodles.
The dry noodles with chilli were decent enough.
Prawns were fresh.
Soup was underwhelming.
We ordered the $13 bowl with big prawns and the $11 bowl with normal prawns and pork belly.
Can try one time. But no more second time with the expensive price, long queues.
A bloody satisfying bowl of prawn noodles. Always order No.1 no regret! The portion is normal, just the prawn is on steroid. I ordered the dry version so that I would have an empty bowl for all of my prawn carcass after I demolish the noodles. They have this fruity chili powder which can give quite a kick. I suggest seasoning the noodles with the chili from soysauce mixture and a bit of that powder. Drink the soup first then add the powder later to change it's taste to be more fruity n spicy. It is almost like a different dish. The special thing about this noodle soup is that they strike balance between the gamey pork and seafoody shrimp in the bowl so well. Definitely worth your travel here.
Medium size prawns for the $12 big prawn noodles. The soup was good and the best part of the dish. The prawns were reasonably fresh. The noodles were ok.
The sad thing is this stall never provides pork lard for the prawn noodles. Slightly expensive but tasty.
Tried their Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle Soup (I chose the yellow noodles). The soup was just at the amount of flavor, a little bit salty, sweet. The prawns were actually not that big but they were just fine with me since they were sweet and delicious. I would try the other noodles available the next time I visit there. Overall, a good quality dish at reasonable price.
Really good prawn noodles. Rich soup with big prawns. Add the fish maw and clams if available.
Very nice prawn noodle!
Different seller between the day and night operators. IMO, I still prefer the cooking style and sauce mixture of the day seller.
My favourite prawn noodles!! I often having cravings for this prawn noodles from time to time. The prawns are always fresh, broth never fails to satisfy and the stall owners are very friendly. Although portion size is a little small but overall really good bowl of prawn mee.
Bought the $10 big prawn noodle but got just few small size prawns. Not worth the money compared to other shops offering bigger prawns. Can just go for normal since big prawn is so small. Taste is ok and soup is a bit salty. Uncle taking order is friendly though. Have tasted better prawn noodles for $10. I think eat Nasi lemak better lah. Taste is always consistently good.
My weekly must-have! Always order the $10/$12 prawn noodle which gives you bigger juicy sweeter prawns. Don't bother with the $4-5 cause you'll be missing out! However, 4 stars instead of 5 as the standard fluctuates on weekdays and weekends - soup taste different (still good but different). Sometimes, for the same price, the quality and size of prawns fluctuates which I acknowledge is dependent on the catch of the day but I guess it's a weekly surprise.
This stall has been moved to Newton Food Centre. Do continue to patronise him. He is much cheerful and approachable now while the prawn noodles remain tasty and umami. 🙂
First time trying … nice prawn broth… check it out 😋
I usually take the dry prawn mee and have soup on the side. Best eaten at the hawker centre as the noodles turned soggy when I brought it home one time. A bottle of chin chow next door will wash it down nicely afterwards…
Soup was smooth and sweet. Prawns were fresh. However noodles were a tad overcooked. Do note that they have just increased the price of their prawn noodles.
I bought the 10-dollar dry noodle. I thought the prawns were rather ordinary but both of my prawns carried eggs (which I thought was rare). The soup was good but I wouldn't line up again for it.
Soup was very rich, until it was slightly over salted. Prawn was cooked until a little a mushy. Noodle sauce was ok, not crazy nice, but normal. Pork belly was good.
Very generous in portions. Allowed separate soup for take away. Gave a lot of soup. Prawns are fresh. Soup is too salty though. $6.20
Best prawn+ pork rib mee in Singapore hands down . Awesome soup base
Checked if this stall is opened on sat late night and YES, it is still open at 10.50pm and they mentioned opened till late. 😀
This is my top prawn mee shop choice.
The taste of the soup is very tasty and pork rib just stew it well , was their regular since 1989 . Keep up the good job Mr Cheng
Dry big prawns and pork belly noodles
Delicious bowl of Prawn Noodles
Love the sauce, prawn, noodles and soup. Thick and flavourful.
Soup is packed with flavor, add the chilli powder! Bowl of kway teow is awestruck
Very mediocre and a far substitute for the Zion Road or Ghim Moh places. Food was small and overpriced.
Soup lost it’s prawn essences but tastes saltier as time passed. Why, oh why, oh why?
Good stuff
I had it a long time ago, and this time I will try the extra large prawn noodles. A bowl costs 17 yuan. The shrimps are divided into two, giving 5 pieces, plus a small piece of ribs. Although the shrimps are large, they are still fresh, and the ribs are tasty and delicious, but it still feels a bit expensive. I don’t know if the boss forgot that I wanted it to be a little spicy, but it turned out to be too spicy for me.
