After a disastrous tattoo experience in India, I had nearly lost all hope of ever having a decent cover-up. The original tattoo was dark, surrounded by smaller ones, and numerous artists had suggested extreme solutions like a full blackout. However, when I visited Nick at Charlotte Tattoo Makeup Hair, I realized that impossible was not in his vocabulary. Nick performed what can only be described as a miraculous double cover-up, transforming a poorly executed tree tattoo into a stunning raven. This raven is now my favorite piece, surpassing all my expectations. In the same session, Nick also worked on a hannya mask tattoo. Instead of simply covering the cube tattoo with black ink as others had suggested, he ingeniously incorporated it into the mask, making it look like a part of the face. This creativity blew my mind. Regarding the dots and stars from another studio that I was never satisfied with, Nick and I discussed various ideas, and he proposed Japanese blackwork irezumi spirals and waves. The result was nothing short of spectacular. Since getting my tattoos done at Nick’s studio, I’ve regained my confidence in my body and a renewed appreciation for tattoo art. In summary, Nick’s exceptional skill and artistic vision have left me with nothing but admiration. Now, all I can think about is what to get next on my chest and back. There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be returning to Nick for all my future tattoos. His work is unparalleled, and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

Did quite a few tattoos today… two big ones on my calves and a few small ones on my arm. I didn’t opt for the numbing cream as I have a high pain tolerance but Nick (the tattoo artist) is just great at what he does. He takes the time to make some edits to the tattoo drawings. He is patient and he gives great advices. So glad I chose to do these pieces with him and I will stick with him if I want more tattoos in future :)

Thank you for the wonderful and friendly customer service. Although I only did a small touch up, tattoo artist was very patient and explained how to take good care of it for a better recovery and maintenance. It was a smooth and hassle free process. Very comfortable atmosphere too.

Came here because i once walked by this store. Saw the reviews and their website portfolio, and decided to give it a shot. Went in to be greeted with smiles, already prep for my session. Nick was professional, gave me advice on my art yet maintaining the image i wanted. Took me 3hours, but it felt really fast and painless. Definitely going back again.
