Reviews of Dong Fang Hong Sotong Ball Seafood Soup
Super Sotong and meat balls here, taste like pure Sotong meat with no flour added. Their style in a bowl is unique and I understand the stall was set up by the three sisters’ late father and now run by the madames. My heart goes out to the aunty cooking with a long queue in toll, i can taste “love” in her craft and if she is slightly snappy - pardon her for the heat in this market. One other sister warmly asked if I liked it, i told her I can take the heart in the broth. I had mine with mee sua, very flavourful. Prepare to queue a little, wasn’t so bad, probably 10mins and we were there at 12.30pm.
Very generous amount of hand made balls (sotong, meat, dumpling) and everything was delicious! Although soup is clear but it is very flavourful, garlicky and refreshing!
Very delicious sotong ball soup. I haven't found any other seller of this kind of food anywhere else in Singapore. The sotong balls feel hand made (not factory stuff) and contain more seafood than flour, which is good. I wish they also have yellow noodles as that will go well of mixed with kway teow.
Was very surprised to find that this stall is open two days a week. It also has very high google ratings. So decided to give it a try today. When I arrived at about 11 am, there was already a queue of people. The queue moved very slowly. I ordered the large portion of the sotong balls soup to takeaway. The soup is clear but flavourful. The sotong balls and dumplings were too soft for my liking but they were tasty.
Overall, the dish is OK but not exceptional.
Only open limited days every week.
Expect to see ling queue in lunch time.
Hand made sotong and meatball.
You can tasted the different compare to super market.
Definitely tasted more delicious and chewy.
Soup is boiled with fresh seafood ingredients.
Handmade sotong balls also variety of Vish, octopus and meat.
Healthy soup different Mie can choose or add some rise. Open only a few days most on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. On lunch time only
Really good handmade balls. Sotong, fish, mixed. Hidden gem. The noodles and soup is simple, not very flavourful but taste fresh and healthy.
There’s a reason for the daily long queue. They are willing to give ingredients. Given the higher price range. The amount of ingredients is actually quite a lot. All the staff is very very friendly & accomodating. Highly recommended 👍🏼
It's been awhile but I'm glad I came back!the price has gone up compared to more than a year ago but that could be said for >90% of hawker food I would think.
Chance upon this place!!!! Long Q means something is good!!!
I was right
Teo chew aunty serving nice food !!!!
Go try all the balls damm fresh and soft!!
I had the Medium Bee Tai Mak soup with the meatballs, Sotong balls and fishballs. All were really fresh and bouncy.. the soup had a delightful taste of fried garlic. The soup had no MSG because I finished the entire bowl and wasn’t thirsty.. note that they’re open only 3 days a week.. 😜
$5.50 sotong ball soup, clear broth. Really delicious 🤤😋
Just had the $7soup with rice and the good news is that the flavors, ingredients and quality is just as I have always remembered it to be.
I confirmed with the boss lady that they only open Mon to Weds only. Enjoy .....
We were dissappointed that this stall was not open on Thursday and we cannot find information about its operating days. We will appreciate the latest information from others.
Nice soup, pity that it only opens on weekday
It's the best fish ball or squid ball I've ever eaten.
I came here because it was recommended to me by a local hawker that there are many hidden restaurants, so I highly recommend it.
