We recently attended a personal etiquette workshop conducted by Agnes Koh, and it was an incredibly enriching experience. Agnes imparted a wealth of information with clarity and professionalism, making the session both engaging and insightful. I learned how personality can be detected by colours. And how colours can affect how people can have the impression on us. As working along with parents and infants, it is a good thing that we learned about posture so that we can look presentable and presentable in front of parents. I just knew that once we knew our colour type, it is easy for us to find our outfits when shopping in outlets.

On behalf of Singapore Polytechnic Ambassadors: We had the opportunity to engage Agnes as our trainer for SP Ambassadors’ annual Etiquette Workshop. She is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable in delivering the content, effectively coaching over 40 Ambassadors, and it was a pleasure to learn from her. Our Ambassadors learnt many etiquette and ambassadorial principles through this workshop. These include: 1. Deportment: Standing and sitting posture, poise, and demeanour; Inconspicuous, graceful movement while transitioning between standing and sitting, or while escorting VIPs. 2. Dress code: Appropriate attire for respective dress codes – business formal, business professional, business casual, and smart casual – and how to don the attire properly. 3. Greetings and handshakes: Initiating greetings and handshakes with VIP with VIPs and other guests. 4. Personal grooming standards: Appropriate nail and hair lengths, personal hygiene, appropriate jewellery, and accessories to be worn, hair styling, and make-up. 5. Diplomacy and envoy protocol: Handshakes, national flag arrangements, escorting VIPs, seating for various events, process, and order of precedence for stage ceremonies and dinners, as well as security envoy duties. Under Agnes’ masterful guidance, the Ambassadors were trained on these principles, with opportunities for hands-on learning and practice. They especially enjoyed the practical elements of the workshop that went beyond a deck of slides, such as simulating escorting VIPs in various contexts. This knowledge added to their ambassadorial toolkit, which enhances our Ambassadors representing our club and school when hosting VIPs during formal events.
