Reviews of Fire Rice
𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙥𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙖𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙩 ($10 𝙐.𝙋. $11.50)
- Pork chop was not dry at all, super tender compared to the other popular fried rice chain, and well-seasoned though it could have a stronger black pepper taste.
- Chicken was juicy with a crispy skin, very flavourful and peppery with hints of five-spice powder.
𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙥 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙥 ($10 𝙐.𝙋. $11.40)
- Spicy pork chop was my favourite protein among all with spicy, sweet and savoury flavours!
- Shrimps were firm and fresh with a slight sweetness 🍤
𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 ($7.50)
- Chicken wings were coated in a light and delicately crisp crust without being too greasy 🍗
- Prawn paste batter was not too salty or pungent.
𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙥𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙢𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 ($7.50)
- A twist to the traditional fried rice, smoked duck gave an extra savouriness and the black pepper was more prominent than the pork.
They used Taiwanese pearl rice which was grainy and fragrant, but the sambal variant kicked it up a notch 🌶️ Overall, I personally recommend getting the spicy pork chop with sambal fried rice, while my family also enjoyed the prawn paste chicken and Taiwanese chicken cutlet.

The fried rice I had was truly a culinary delight, boasting a perfect balance of flavors and textures that made each bite utterly enjoyable. The sambal accompanying it added a pleasant spicy kick 🌶️, enhancing the dish without overwhelming it.
Tried out both of the recommended fried rice and was really impressed with their food and services. The sunny side up is a must to add on!!
𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙋𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 🥩🍚
The black pepper pork chop is so tenderlicious and the secret lies in the sprinkle of pepper powder🧂Also, the egg fried rice is so delicious with each grain of rice coated in fluffy egg flowers 💛 Completed with a perfect sunny side-up 🍳
𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙥 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 🍤🍚
The shrimps 🍤 are fat and juicy! At least 8-10 pieces of de-shelled shrimps in one plate?! Go try to count it and let me know 😏 The sambal fried rice is very savoury and provides a little kick 🔥 Not too dry also.
Delicious fried rice by ex-chefs of DTF! Their fried rice indeed reminded me of DTF's version but at a more affordable price!👍 Also loved the wide variety of toppings to choose from! We tried the Sambal Shrimp Fried Rice, Black Pepper Pork Chop Fried Rice, and the Garlic Pepper Mozzarella Cheese Sticks Fried Rice! All were tasty but my picks would be the first two😋 Recommend to check out this place!
Pork chop tender and chicken cutlet very crispy. Very good deal. Fried rice abit oily and mushy, not the fluffy kind. Overall still good worth. PayNow available.

Explored Fire Rice at the recently revamped coffee shop, a longstanding presence in the neighborhood for over two years.
•
Opted for classics like Pork Chop and Chicken Cutlet to gauge their standard and ventured into some of their new offerings.
•
Our choices:
- *NEW Prawn Paste Chicken Wing Fried Rice
- Black Pepper Pork Chop Fried Rice
- Taiwanese Chicken Cutlet Fried Rice
- Sambal Shrimp Fried Rice
•
In hindsight, we wished we'd savored their Tempura Fish Fillet and Black Pepper Smoked Duck as complementary sides. Nonetheless, our choices spanned across a diverse spectrum of their main ingredients.
•
Delighted to have both Egg and Sambal Fried Rice in our selection. The chef incorporated generous amount of eggs, and the Sambal Sauce offers a unique twist to the classic egg fried rice.
•
Impressed by the seamless coordination of the chefs in preparing ingredients. Chops and Cutlets were fried to perfection, timed impeccably to rest and serve alongside the flavorful Fried Rice! 🤩
𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙋𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 ($7)
We have to say: their egg to rice ratio is just PERFECT and every mouthful of fried rice delivered its eggy fragrance 🥹 that you’d absolutely love! Their pork chop 🍖🍖 was really tender and not dry, however much of its flavour came from the fragrant powders that were sprinkled on top. With that being said, we think they can be more heavy-handed with the powders.
𝙏𝙖𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝘾𝙪𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 ($6.50)
Similarly, the egg fried rice was good (but this one was a bit more wet?) and the chicken cutlet 🐓🍗 was a crispy one that certainly delivered. This is the kind of dish that you crave on a whim and be pleasantly surprised by how delicious it is.
𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙮 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 ($1.50) were fried to golden perfection and really tasty! We had their sambal sauce (on the side!) and felt that while fragrant there was little to no kick to it at all :( hopefully they’ll dial up the heat!
Fire Rice will settle your egg fried rice cravings right in your neighbourhood and a plate of their food will no doubt leave your belly full and satisfied 😇😇 We’d be back if we’re in the area!

Really delicious fluffy fried rice! We got the shrimp fried rice, black pepper pork chop fried rice and Taiwanese chicken cutlet. The Taiwanese chicken cutlet was so delicious - tender and juicy and crispy! Shrimp fried rice had good amount of Shrimp (they were big!) And the rice was fluffy and not too oily which I loved. Black Pepper Pork chop flavor was really nice although I wish the black pepper taste was stronger.
The combo of Black Pepper Pork Chop Fried Rice and Taiwanese Chicken Cutlet offers a tasty blend of savory pork and crispy chicken. XO Sauce Shrimp Fried Rice, with its flavorful shrimp and aromatic XO sauce, is a must-try. Will visit again!
$9 fried rice, added rice. Portion huge.
Running 30km tomorrow so I came here to carb load.
Tasty fried rice.
The egg fried rice at Din Tai Fung is legendary, and ex-DTF chefs leaving the famed restaurant to set up their own hawker stalls selling fried rice is now common. Fire Rice in Yishun differentiates itself by offering, in addition to the usual pork chop and shrimps, a unique smoked duck topping as well.
We ordered the signature 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($7.00) and the newly-launched 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($6.50). What hit us first was the fragrance of the rice. The alluring aroma, coupled with the generous amounts of fried egg hidden in the rice, was impeccable.
The pork chop, masterfully marinated and unimaginably tender, was unrivalled. The crispy chicken cutlet brought back fond memories of being stuck in a Taiwanese jungle during my army days, and a lone mobile hawker following our battalion in to fry up some chicken cutlets. It was manna for our impoverished bellies.
We also had two sides. The 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗽 ($4.20) was as tender as its black pepper counterpart, but wasn’t spicy at all. It still tasted good, but not fantastic. The 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 ($1.50 per pc), crispy and succulent, were delightful.
The portion size was acceptable, slightly larger than the KoFR, but the taste was not as enjoyable in comparison. The egg rice lacked sufficient wok hei, and the eggs were not thoroughly fried with the individual grains of rice. There is room for improvement in the overall dish.
Staff service is friendly, still consider windy kofishop but due to many old folks drinkers, making the place very noisy.
Tried the following:
Pepper Pork Chop Fried Rice ($7)
The pork chop was sizeably thick and sliced into strips that were juicy and tender. Wish that the peppery taste was more pronounced but otherwise, I did enjoy this hearty offering.
Sambal Shrimp Fried Rice ($7.20)
Out of the two fried rice selections, I prefer their sambal fried rice which I found to be more flavourful than the egg fried rice albeit less spicy than I would have liked it. We had the one with shrimp and it came with a generous portion of plump, juicy shrimps that went well with the fragrant rice
Crispy Prawn Paste Chicken Wing ($1.70/pc)
While fried rice is the highlight of their menu, I found their har cheong gai to be the star of the show with its perfectly crispy golden exterior and succulent meat within. Every bite is packed with so much flavour! A must-try if you're here!
At just a fraction of the price that you'll pay for a plate of DTF's fried rice, the offerings at Fire Rice are definitely worth the money! For the price of one plate of DTF fried rice, you can get two plates of fried rice here and even chicken wings to boot!
The fried rice is fried thoroughly, no mushy bits and no white patches. Every grain is mixed with either the egg or the sambal. It's soft and fluffy.
The pork is super tender and just the right flavouring. Not too salty not too peppery. The prawn paste chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with the prawn paste flavour thoroughly infused into the meat.
Our favourite of the day is the sambal fried rice! Not too spicy, not too salty and not too oily! It's a very well made, well balanced dish.
Ordered their chef recommendation sambal pork chop fried rice. Fried rice taste like sambal quite unique. Pork chop is similar to din tai feng style. Wok hey is lacking in comparison to other fried rice I ate before. The roasted chilli give an additional spice kick.
Overall recommend if you are in the area. Price is ok but can be cheaper.
Had such a good experience!! The fried rice was so moist and fluffy🥹 and the portion was also p big. tried their pepper and spicy pork chops and both pork chops were well-marinated, though we really liked the spicy one more - it taste more fragrant. my fav part of the meal would definitely be their sambal fried rice super shiok and got wok hei!!
Very super nice shrimp fried rice that taste so good that’s like DTF shrimp fried rice and the ‘Har Cheong Gai’(Shrimp paste chicken wing) is the best that I ever had! Finished cleanly everything and even takeaway another order of the Black pepper pork fried rice for my breakfast Tmr.
Bought spicy pork chop fried rice, I like that the pork chop is juicer compared to KOFR. But it doesn't taste spicy at all.
I also like that the fried rice was so fragrant. Every bite of the rice had a nice eggy fragrance, rice was fluffy and also had a nice texture.
What I love most is their prawn paste chicken, it is so well marinated! Regret not getting more!
Overall tasty.. fried rice does have the DTF feel. Shrimp pate chicken yummy. For the price, its okay, but u will be expected to wait (see my experience below).
Staff is friendly.
If the staff told u need to wait for X-mins, the actual wait time is plus another 20mins... so take note of the wait.
Great tasting fried rice that’s cooked over a big fire. Love the luncheon meat sambal fried rice so much that I’ll be back. It really has the wok hei!
Similar standard to Ding Tai Feng but much more cheaper. Pork Chop fried rice is charging only at $6.50. The person who took my order was quite friendly. Just that the coffee shop itself is extremely hot 🥵
Did you know that this fried rice stall was founded by Veteran Ex- Din Tai Fung Pioneer chefs ?
I tried 2 fried rice dishes at this stall, called 火饭 or Fire Rice. It also means that the rice has been stir fried with high heat control which releases its' fragrance!
- Sambal Shrimp with Petai Fried Rice-$9.20 ($7.20 without Petai)
- Pepper Pork Chop Fried Rice-$7
Their menu is exclusively on fried rice, ranging from familiar fried rice dishes at Din Tai Fung, such as Pork Chop Fried Rice and Egg fried rice, to fried rice that suits our local tastes such as the savoury sambal fried rice.
The sambal fried rice is not that spicy so if you are a spicy lover, do add in the chilli sauce and mix it up for enhanced flavour.
Opened since Feb 2022- Fire Rice experts are nestled in the heartland of Yishun ave 5!
With more than 31 years experience in F&B industry, Veteran Ex- Din Tai Fung Pioneer chefs are persistent in ensuring each plate served are in top quality to the public!
Love firerice fried rice, yummy fried rice with a top of delicious black pepper pork chop. And also we try out their Taiwanese braised pork rice, is so tasty. There is quite a lots of options fried rice with different toppings can be choose. Worth to try it !!
Probably the best in yishun in my opinion. I had the privilege to try two of their dishes:
1. Sambal Spicy Pork Chop Fried Rice ($7.50)
2. Prawn Paste Chicken Wings ($1.70/Pcs)
Both are robust in flavours and satisfying mouth-watering dishes. Take the first bite into the fried rice and be greeted with a smoky sambal chilli fragrance that is not too spicy but striking enough to be enjoyable! ☺️ Then, comes the classic robust wok hey, egg fried rice aroma! Truly FIRE 😋 and a multi-dimensional tasty experience! The egg was super soft and airy too!
For the prawn paste chicken, it wasn't too oily, batter wasn't overly thick with almost paper-like crispy skin and also pretty juicy! The chicken was well marinated and you can taste the flavours are well infused within the meat! You must come try! The prawn paste chicken is also packed full of juices.. so beware of oil splashes ah! 🤭
You must come try!
Fried rice with sufficient wok hey and fragrance is found!!! Must try their fried rice and also black pepper pork chop. Very palatable and juicy. You will fall in love as they are cooked by ex-Din Tai Feng chefs. 😍😋
Ordered non spicy meal today.
Pork chop fried rice + prawn paste chicken wings. The fried rice is just nice, pork is tender and fragrant.
The prawn paste chicken is very good and tender too! :) Definitely a must try!!
Both my daughters luv their fried rice v much.
Recently this stall v long Q
& only 2 of them w cooking time limits, hard to fullfill the customer's demand.
hope they can extend their business to other area, so that won't make customers dissapointed.
We support u!
This is one of the *BEST* fried rice I ever eaten! Really eggcellent and love how good the taste is; the amount of egg used to fry with the rice is really effort making. Rice is really soft and the moment it enter into your mouth, you cannot stop eating it! Must try place to go if you are craving for the best fried rice!
This place sent me straight to Taiwan! The salt base chicken cutlet is so tender and crispy. Egg fried rice has fluffy grains with generous portions 👍🏼
The spicy pork is good. Tender, moist & savy but on the fried rice, I felt it is rather bland though u can see lotsa eggs being used. Perhaps the salty chili sauce is there to bring up the taste?
Ordered the Buddy meal at $15 which came with egg fried rice and sambal fried rice. Accompanying this was 4 nuggets, 2 har cheong mid wings an a crispy pork cutlet
Egg fried rice looks colourful but tasted bland. Pairing it with pork chop and the other side dishes complement the egg fried rice. On the other hand, the sambal fried rice packs a punch and taste good. Overall fairly happy with the set.
Is our 1st time having restaurants grade fried rice in a coffeeshop.
Ordered their chef highly recommended fried rice.
• S1 - Sambal Shrimp Fried Rice @$7.20
• E8 - Taiwanese Chicken Cultet Fried Rice @$6.50
• A2 - Black Pepper Pork Chop @$4.20
Finger foods for the kids:
• A3 - Chicken Nuggets 6pcs @ $3.60
My son love the black pepper Pork Chop each bite was juicy, tender and absolutely satisfying. My 21mths daughter is enjoying
egg Fried Rice, each mouth the egg and fragrant spring onions were in perfect harmony, and they use Taiwanese pearl rice gave the fried rice a great texture. My hubby love their sambal Shrimp Fried Rice is a very good value for money as it comes with a generous portion of juicy shrimp for its price. For myself, I love the taiwanese fried chicken cutlet (Taiwan night market feel). 😊
Fire rice egg fried 🍚 also goes well with their homemade chili oil 😘
Will definitely visit them again to try out other series of fried rice & side dishes.
This is the best Fake Din Tai Fung fried rice version.
Must try👌
i was in the area and came after reading all the good reviews.. ordered the samba pork chop fried rice and it was just so so... There's not much flavour except salt(soy sauce) and chilli powder, maybe for some people that is considered tasty.
maybe those people who raved so much about it have never eaten good fried rice before?
Have a great experience for their firerice, specially their 3 main hot seller dishes I tried! Also the amount of the portion was satisfied and recommended! Can’t wait to get back to have it again!!!
Located conveniently at the coffee shop, restaurant standard with coffee-shop price. The fried rice is well seasoned, and the meats are very tender. The service is very good too.
Affordable and nice fried rice with generous serving. Paired it with their chilli sauce which makes it even more yummy!
Both fried rice and pork cutlet serving portion are huge, most important taste and quality always consistent and their chillies are a must try to further enhance your dining experience!
Somewhat similar to king of fried rice. Overall tried a few various options from the stall. Shrimp fried rice is feasible as well as the pork chop to top on.
Price reasonably with good generous portion & most importantly every grains is filled with wok hey fragrance + flavour texture.
You will never know how good it’s till you try it yourself now 👍🏻
Very generous portion of rice and meat. Must try the prawn and chicken cutlet! Super yummy!
Love the sambal fried rice !!
Yummy fried rice by 2 ex din tai fung chefs
So happy to have found this store at Yishun blk 732 coffeeshop. Though it is 20mins drive from my home but it is worth the journey.
Food is average, price and portion is good value.
Pork nice, egg fried rice bland
Yummy
Very delicious and reasonably price porkchop fried rice, big portion porkchop thick and juicy. The owners r very friendly. Sometimes waiting times a bit long.
Spicy pork chop fried rice, delicious pearl rice fried rice, big and thick pork chop, soft but not hard. The stall owner is friendly and answers all your questions. The waiting time sometimes takes a little longer because you need to fry one plate at a time. The taste is comparable to restaurants and the price is cheaper.
