Reviews of Hakka Noodles
Nov 2024. Hadn't been to this food centre on a Sunday for a while.
Decided to patronize this stall for breakfast.
I ordered the ikan bilis yong tau hoo. It was not bad. The ikan bilis was generous and I liked the noodle. It was somewhere between the thin meekia and meepok.
Very generous portion for $4.5. Fried wanton is very crispy and has generous amount of fillings. Was lucky to get 2 when I went during 1230-1245 as usually they give only 1. Queue moves quite fast, 1 minutes max per customer.
I chose this as at 12.30pm, the popular stalls had long queue and most of the others are closing. A Hearty bowl of “Hakka yong tau foo” with clear tasty broth . I opt for the noodles with Sichuan vegetable which is really appetizing. It’s good and the place is clean.
Maybe I don’t know what Hakka noodles is supposed to taste like but I really didn’t like this dish. I ordered the 4.50 Hakka noodle ( I think the price went up? I see reviews stating a $3.50 price range) the noodles were kinda soggy and not springy and the soup tasted like msg. The yong tau foo pieces seemed to be marinated with pepper and salt. So no depth to me. Wanton was hard. I was quite sad. The queue at this stall is long all the time so I was hopeful. Maybe I just don’t get the taste.
It is quite rare to find Hakka Noodles in Singapore these days. I was thus pleasantly surprised to come across this stall in Holland Drive hawker stall. I had the large portion of Hakka Noodles ($4). I felt that the portion of noodles was rather small, but you can add extra noodles for 50 cents. In your plate of noodles, you get minced meat, a small portion of boiled vegetables, and some fried yong tau foo (no choice of yong tau foo). You also get a bowl of soup with 4 meatballs. I found the noodles a little oily, but otherwise, the yong tau foo was pretty satisfying. However, I wished there were less fried options.
I have been visiting this store since coming to Holland Village 7 years ago. Simple but really delicious hakka noodles. It's run by two friendly aunties who really remember your name :) While the hakka noodle is nice, my favourite is the laksa which tastes rich and fresh at the same time. Service is quick and responsive.

Si Chuan Veg Noodle $5.50
8/10
noodles had the perfect spring and bite
noodles were oil rich, and garlicky
maybe go no spicy on the noodles because the chilli sauce (the sweeter, Tangier kind) isn't as good as the garlic chilli you can get yourself on the side
pork lard bits were great
the mustard greens were also nice
the crunchy Sichuan veg was a nice topping
Yong tau foo soup is light but with coriander which I like, and the ingredients are good
Noodle is good! The kind that I like which is springy / al dente. Topped with lard oil and minced meat, resembles those that I had in Malaysia. Comes with generous serving of fish balls and yong tau foo, and a healthy portion of Bok Choy! That is very rare for noodle stall to do that! Unfortunately when I was there at 12.45 on this Saturday, most yong tau foo sold out, so got to come back again earlier next time to try then.
Extremely delightful noodles. Ordered the kway teow dry with chilli and Sichuan vegetables. Got the small one for $3.50, tar bao box add $0.20 each.
The Sichuan vegetables gives it an added crunch and the ytf is fresh. Their sauce is very unique. Ask for crispy lard if you like, theirs don't have the oil smell.
Only $4.50 for a bowl of dry noodles with minced meat, and a bowl of soup with toufu and fish/meat ball. Great value and highly recommended.
Underrated. Worth the queue. Better than the BCM.
3 stars atmosphere due to ventilation issue at hawker centre.
Generous serving for a $3 bowl. The ingredients were fresh and delicious.
Best Yong Tao Fu and QQ noodle I ever had so far! Very Hakka taste ( I’m Teochew by grown up and surrounded by Hakka Neighbours).
The meat ( mixture of pork and fish paste) filling for the Vege and Beancurd is really homemade! Those who can cook can tell the different for sure.
Portion is generous too!
one the best food in sg. homemade chili sauce and ytf, no msg added in the soup, it cooks with whole chicken an anchovies (i saw and i dont feel thirsty after drinking a bowl full of soup). price is so reasonable. very happy with the foods
Nice noodle. Personally I like the taste of the filling in the ingredient. Sure it’s handmade & not from those cheap food factory!
Fresh yong tau foo, springy noodle, generous serving! Great value for money.
The noodles are homemade, don’t miss it. V good chilli.
Great Food
Nice and real material fee. Only $4 for my portion.
Good Hakka Yong Tao Fu
