Reviews of Hong Kong Style Kitchen
This is a popular zhichar stall in the food center and there's always a queue here and it only operates between 4-8pm. The stallowners are from HK and so they cook quite authentic cantonese-HK styled dishes.
We have tried several foods over a few occasions and the food were overall yummy and nice. But the recent visit which we ordered the stir fried beef was a little hard and a little too salty. Other than that, most dishes are ok. Prices were reasonable around $7-12 on average (but if you order prawns or fishes, they will cost more).
Service is prompt too despite of the long queue (as there's only one person cooking at one time), and one taking order and the other serving/packing.
Overall, it's yummy and worth trying!
These dishes may not look like much, but damn they were good! Fresh, yummy, value-for-money… what more can I ask for?! Will definitely be back to try more dishes. For now, recommend!

I've been to this stall a few times but haven't written a review because I want to keep it a hidden gem and avoid longer waiting times. However, with increased competition lately, I've given my favourite stall well-deserved recognition.
One HK couple, the husband is the only Chef and the wife is responsible for taking orders. What is best-selling? The HK-style steam fish. Many Zhi Zhar stalls sell this HK-style steamed fish; only a few are considered good, and the soya sauce mixture is nice. It's a must for me when I come here. Unfortunately, all steam fish sold out when I arrived at 7:30 pm. So, I ordered the last piece, deep-fried fish (see picture), and my friends were pleased with it. Another popular dish is the stirred fried prawn with mushrooms. The prawn-paste chicken is different from the usual style. The portion here is generous, and the price is very affordable. I stayed in the West, but I come here whenever I want to treat a group of friends.
Oh, wow!!!
Found this eatery accidentally and worth the wait for more than 30min long queue.
The 蝦碌 aka sauce fried prawns is super👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
3 of us with 5 dishes and we clean them out!!!!
Great steamed grouper, tender beef, tasty sesame oil chicken and fresh veggies. Will come back again!
Reasonable price for a hearty portion.
I went again on 6 March ... This time it is the sweet and sour fish. Excellent dish. Tasty and crispy
Yummy Cantonese style cooking
Enjoy the steam fish there
Couple are working hard cooking and serving and the lady boss though looks serious but she is nice actually 👍
Forgot about this place for a long time, used to be one of my top 3 places for superb steamed fish (other than seng kee and zai shun). Revisited today and happy to see that their business still good and the amazing one-man-show chef still churning out dishes so quickly. Their signature steamed fish (only option left - huge soon hock $25) is still as fresh and perfectly steamed, food portions still as generous and for me the taste is just nice not too salty. Definitely will come back again, only complaint is takes a while to get a table here!
Uncle chef has his own style of cooking.
Good and comfort food
Portions were rather large for the price paid, but the the food was mediocre. E.g. salted fish pork patty was devoid of the characteristic taste or aroma of the eponymous cured catch, and was predominantly flavoured by the soy sauce dressing that it was sitting in.
This is definitely one of the best and very unique zi char. Typical zi char you get a lot of local Singapore/Malaysian local dishes, while this one is more cantonese or maybe hong kong style dishes, the kind of dishes probably you will find in old school cantonese restaurants. We ordered a steam grouper, lala, steam minced pork and sweet potato leaves. Total damage is just $42.50. We get cai png charging like $6-10 for a small slice of fish, for this price, you have a decent full size grouper (not the greasy grouper you get at some places) that is perfectly steamed, not overcooked, and the rest of the dishes portion are all pretty large. Frankly, I've too much bad experience ordering lala in many zi char places where u get all empty shells but little meat, but this is first time I have mountain load of lala which took us forever to finish them. This really set the benchmark in very value for money zi char with exceptional quality.
Had the steamed port pattie and prawn paste chicken today. Both tasted excellent and great value for money. Would recommend it highly. Come early as they sometimes sell out before 7
Good tasting Hong Kong style cooking food. Efficient crew of 3 but noisy when stressed out.. perpetual queuing..Mains are Steam Fish,prawns,veg,beef,chicken,pork..
Awesome place to eat Zi Char! Their bitter gourd fish are yummy. Its a small stall so don't expect a wide variety of food. Their current menu food are already good. Support locals!
Authentic place with authentic food especially the steam grouper taste fresh and good. Value for money too.
Very humble Hong Kong couple bringing us our favorites dishes
Highly recommended. Fresh seafood, vegetables. Taste good and value for money.
Affordable for many and super tasty. Definitely a hidden gem.
Tasty dishes that taste home cooked, especially the steam fish and yam pork.
Delicious and affordable HK zi char.
Very good limited choices of zichar dishes
