Reviews of Hong Li Catering
The Fish Head Steamboat is a must-try! Lots of nourishing ingredients in the soup such as fish head, yam, cabbage, seaweed, goji berry etc. I like the rich and tasty soup broth. Another dish that I like is the Sambal Stingray The sambal is aromatic and the meat is soft and tender.
Hidden gem in the Tai Seng Industrial area!
They have a wide range of food menu items to choose from!
-Fish Head Stove: Super flavourful umami rice broth! Fresh fish meat too!
-Pumpkin Prawn: Fresh crunchy prawn with savoury pumpkin sauce!
-Garlic Pork Ribs: The presentation was quite wow! Whole garlic pieces are fried together with the pork ribs to give you the 蒜爆 taste! Crispy fragrant pork ribs
-Dried Scallop Kai Lan: As a non-veg eater, this is the ONLY kind of vegetables that I will eat at Tze Char place! Crunchy crispy kailan leaf shreds and topped with golden dried scallops!
-Tofu Beancurd: Super love this soft smooth tofu. Drench the rice with this braised sauce! Comes with minced meat and prawns too!
All items were super good and tasty!
Went down to their taiseng outlet the other day and had a super pleasant meal 🤤 here’s what stood out for me!
Their 𝙃𝙤𝙩𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙛𝙪 ($12) has a surprisingly rich winey taste! I loved how it gives a greater depth of flavour than those offered by your typical zichar stall.
𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙨 ($18) was true to its name 😆, which had a very strong garlic taste. It was evenly fried and super crispy on the outside! Overall, it was firm but gave good chew. Solid dish!
Lastly, the 𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙫𝙚 ($35) is definitely one of the best I’ve tasted in sg 🤩Super rich, you can really taste the essence of the fish. Also, the fish was very fresh, and tasted superb with their chilli that has really good spicy kick!
Other dishes that were featured (and was yumsss)
𝙓𝙊 𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙠 𝙠𝙖𝙞 𝙡𝙖𝙣 ($20)
𝘽𝘽𝙌 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙮 ($16)

Hidden gem in industrial area that provide affordable and delicious Zi Char in AMK. The location is spacious and suitable for family and friends gathering. I especially like the flavourful soup base and find the yam cooked to correct texture. Other dishes are nice also not not too oily.
BBQ stingray may not be fresh because the meat is tough. BBQ series may not be their forte asthe taste is mild. Garlic pork dishes are nice. Prawn ball is yummy.
They serve local & delightful zichar in Singapore.
The portion are generous with pocket friendly price. Come try their Fish head steamboat, the soup so savoury fragrance and yums ~
If you are around that area , don't miss this 👍🏻
had the steamed fish, pumpkin prawns, claypot garlic chicken, broccoli and honey pork trotters — all the dishes were really good and definitely exceeded our expectations. portions were generous and staff were friendly too! highly recommended if you’re looking for an affordable zichar fare :-)
The highlight of this meal from @honglicatering is the Curry Fish Head. The fish head is almost the size of the pot!! Lots of yummy juicy fish meat that we finished it all even though there were just 2 of us!! Too delicious and fresh. There were ample amounts of vegetables such as brinjal, lady fingers and other goodies in the pot full of bubbling gravy.
The Pork Ribs was also another flavourful dish being well marinated and chunky to the bite. It combines both savoryness and a slight sweetness to enhance the fragrance of this meat dish.
What's a balanced meal without some sautéed Greens? We had a simple Garlic Chives and Beansprout to compliment the heavy flavoured dishes from above.
For 2 pax this is definitely tummy filling enough that we ordered only 1 plate of rice to share. Can't have Curry without any carbs to pair and soak up all the yummylicious goodness.
I had lunch, ordered the recommended Garlic chicken, Salted egg pork ribs and Dried scallop kailan. The only down side about this meal is that the crispy garlic in the garlic chicken was not deep fried enough that its still oil moist and not dry enough. Other than that its an enjoyable meal.
Great malaysia savoury dishes served here. We ordered the Yi Pin Hotpot which came bubbling hot and filled with all 好料 (abalone, sea cucumber, prawn, tofu, broccoli, mushroom and carrot). The zup is not to be wasted! Drench it on your rice and dig in!
Prawn Meat Ball came with their special Thai Chilli which pairs well with the savoury meaty fried ball.
The XO Style HK Kai Lan with Prawn was really indulging with a hint of spice, the fresh qq prawns were a great addition to this dish! 🤤
Garlic Pork Rib *NEW was nicely fried and well marinated. Lastly, the Dried Scallop Kai Lan ($15)! Almost every table have this and with its unique-ness, I can totally understand why!
Overall the food quality and taste was good.
Unfortunately the garlic pork that day was lacking badly…
I wouldn’t come all the way as they have quite a few outlets, but if you’re nearby it’s good to pay them a visit.
Fish head steamboat soup is flavourful! Good for sharing! Toufu is also very tasty! A very good hidden Zi char store in a industrial area
First time patronising this Zi Char stall and brought home Har Jeong Chicken Wings, Pork cutlet and Sambal Kang Kong.
The food is really tasty and the Har Jeong Kai taste awesome!
Will definitely go back for more
Ordered fish head curry n stir fried HK kailan for 3 pax. Like the meaty fishhead n the crunchy kailan. Although the kailan is mostly stems. It was very well done. Quality cooking. Will return. Sorry, forgot to take pic until the end. Let u see the curry color bah. 😅
Hong Li is located in a coffeeshop within an industry area, and so is unassuming at first, but tasted surprisingly good. Loved how unique some of the dishes are from other tze char places.
A hidden gem in industrial area (we went for the Tai Seng outlet)..Excellent place to have a hearty meal with friends and family..
What we liked 👍🏻
👉Wide variety of dishes from traditional Chinese dishes to modern fusion dishes
👉Big portion served, so perfect for groups
👉Can feel the freshness in each bite
👉Friendly staff and warm-relaxing atmosphere make it a comfortable dining place
👉 Pocket friendly
What we ate:
👉Xo style HK Kai Lan>> Prawns were fresh, veggies were crunchy
👉Fried garlic pork ribs >> Served in aluminium foil designed as Swan..this wowed us.. Pork was tender and not at all dry 😯😯
👉Four treasure tofu>>tofu cubes stewed with a medley of prawns, mushrooms, broccoli, and abalone
👉Red grouper in stove>>Freshness at it's best..the soup base was so yumm that our tummy were filled but heart were not...
They are also open for catering for special occasions
Tried this hidden zi char gem in AMK! Surprisingly the food didn’t disappoint at all. If you’re craving for charcoal steamboat, be sure to order their Red Grouper Steamboat to enjoy… Shiok!
Ordered the curry fish head, tofu, fried veggies, prawn paste chicken and fried chicken.
The fish was very fresh, chicken was flavourful due to the garlic. The atmosphere wasn’t that good due to being in a industrial area.
Visited the newly opened outlet by Hong Li in Woodlands Ring Rd, Located 10mins walking distance from Almiraty mrt. 🚶
Hong Li offers a good range of their specialty zi char dishes and we are impressed by their food quality and variety. 👍🏻
What we tried; 💕
✔️Fish head stove 🤤 MUST TRY
✔️Yi Pin Hot Pot
✔️Dried scallop Kai lan 🤤 MUST TRY
✔️Fried Crispy pork with garlic 🤤
Had the horfun and sweet potato leaves stirfry. Horfun had wok hei but unfortunately found the gravy a little bland. The vegetables ($8) were flavourful though.
Fish Head Stove 鱼头炉 $35
Fish bones are used to make this thick broth. What I like is that the bones have been removed from the meat, as I don't enjoy eating bony fish meat. I also don't feel so thirsty after this. It is not salty and has the authentic taste of fish broth.
Golden Yam Ring 佛本飘香 $18
The ring is busting with prawns, chicken, cashews and vegetables. Generous portion!
BBQ Stingray 烧鱼 $16 Small ($20 for large)
I requested this because I don't often come across BBQ dishes in a tze char place. Served with cincalok, we enjoy it on our rice. My craving was satisfied.
The menu at Hong Li changes from time to time because it uses fresh ingredients available, so you get to enjoy fresh food and try new items every so often. They do catering too!
Tried the curry fish head
Love it as its not oily and the flavor not too overpowering
Do be prepared to wait during peak dinner timing
Really enjoyed their friend garlic pork and red snapper steamboat! The best out of the 6 dishes I've tried. But don't get me wrong, the other dishes were good as well such as the prawns and kailan, but personal preference would be those that I've mentioned! Perfect for a rainy day 🤙🏻
Decent food at reasonable price. Plenty of tables available.
Love the red grouper pot and prawn paste chicken. Highly recommend to get these dishes! Good to come off-peak for shorter queues.
come early so you don’t get disappointed. The food is really tasty but the waiting time for food to come was reallllly tooo long. Order abt 630pm but food only came 730pm. 🥵😓 worth to try the fish soup, cheese prawn and crispy vege🙂
i think everyone here is friendly. Drinks quite ex for this kind of location. 1.60 for Yeos chrys tea.
Very hot in the afternoon but expected.. Fairly clean
The food is very nice and will come again with my friends.
Not as good as their previous place, but the food is still good enough for its price. Service is still 5 stars
Food was good!!! Standard tze char food and if you are around the area, be sure to try them out!!!
Today I came to visit the Hongli fish head stove restaurant [Hong li catering] hidden in Taiseng recommended by a friend. It is really good! I ordered a curry fish head today! The fish meat is extremely tender! The portion is really quite filling! The key is that the taste is really nice! It is said that their fish head stove is also super delicious! ! I ordered too much today! Try again next time!
